Fashion Flashback: Jennifer Lawrence’s Best Beauty & Hair Moments for Her 32nd Birthday!

Oscar-winner & A-lister Jennifer Lawrence celebrates her 32nd birthday today. The actress, & new mom, is a style star on the red carpet, for sure, but the success of her fashion choices is, in part, to her bombshell & edgy hair styles, as well as her gorgeous & flawless beauty looks at a variety of occasions, including major awards shows, film premieres, film festivals, & photo calls. The Kentucky native’s look has changed since her big break in 2010’s Winter’s Bone, especially with long dirty blonde locks, a more dramatic darker mane (like in Silver Lining’s Playbook & The Hunger Games), as well as a layered blonde bob. Additionally, the Mother! actress typically opts for a smoky eye, but often plays up her lips in a dark berry, bright red, or candy pink tone.

What do you think of Jennifer’s hair & beauty looks? Are you a fan of her red carpet style? Do you prefer her as a blonde or brunette? Which movies of hers is your favorite to watch? For more fashion flashback posts, check out: Cara Delevingne’s best pants moments, a look back at Olivia Newton-John’s style throughout her career, Ted Lasso‘s Hannah Waddingham’s on & off screen fashion, & Bullet Train star Joey King’s best red carpet appearances. Cover Craze: Jennifer Lawrence for Vogue’s September Issue!

It’s that time of the summer when fall fashions are not just hitting stores, but also magazines too! September issues of fashion mags are perhaps the most highly acclaimed, ad-heavy, & competitive in capturing beautiful images of today’s most famous style icons. Vogue is celebrating their 125th anniversary as Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence graces the cover with photos from a slew of creative visionaries including artist John Currin, as well as photographers Annie Leibovitz, Inez & Vinoodh, & Bruce Weber.

This includes her new film, Mother!, directed by Darren Aronofsky (& her current beau), as well as films working with Steven Spielberg & that rumored collaboration with Amy Schumer.

Which September issue are you most excited to see? Which stars are your favorites for magazine covers? Are you going to see her new film Mother!? Happy Styling!

08/01/2017 Darling of the Day: Jennifer Lawrence Elevates Casual Chic in New York City!

So, it’s definitely been a minute since my last Darling of the Day post (hello 07/18/2016 with Gwyneth Paltrow!). Trends are always changing—I’m not so crazy about all this 90s-inspiration returning. Also, life is just busy & there’s so much to talk about. However, I just recently came across this image of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (whose new movie Mother! looks terrifying) who was out & about in New York City this summer wearing the most elegant & casual of outfits that anyone can pull off. I knew I had to share the styling details, especially since so many of these pieces probably already reside in our wardrobes. What makes this look so special is Jennifer’s uber chic Elsa Peretti knotted necklace that completely elevates the whole ensemble from casual to genius. I’m always saying that accessories have the power to transform a look & here’s the proof with one simple gold necklace.

The ingredients for Jennifer’s look are easy to put together: white tank, black skinny jeans, & a gold knotted, tassel necklace. Here are three sources to recreate this outfit for the budget-minded shopper of any size because you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your entire income for your style.

SHOP: tank (shop plus here), skinny jeans (shop plus here), knot necklace @dressbarn.

SHOP: tank (available in sizes XS-XXL), skinny jeans (available in sizes 0-20), & multistrand necklace @Old Navy.

Cover Craze: Jennifer Lawrence for Vanity Fair!

We’re approaching awards season, which is a red carpet time of year that basically belongs to Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. She’s a style badass, basically winning in everything she wears, especially as a spokesmodel for Dior. The Passengers actress stuns in this latest photo shoot for Vanity Fair, donning gorgeous designs by Dior, Valentino, Alberta Ferretti, Armani Privé, & Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture, also photographed by Peter Lindbergh & styled by Jessica Diehl.

There’s so much holiday talk in the air, but it’s also another season! All the best & most highly-anticipated films are about to hit theaters for awards season, which means that some of today’s most in-demand actresses are making jaw-dropping red carpet appearances, speaking at press events, & doing the talk show rounds, inspiring viewers with their class, intelligence, talent, & style. Aside from the excitement of seeing who is wearing what, the fashion in these films is definitely worth talking about. I was recently talking to some writer friends about how I haven’t been very enthusiastic about movies lately, especially since there’s so much amazing television on these days, but my mind is changed. I’m gushing over the visual candy that is La La Land, the retro elegance in Rules Don’t Apply & Jackie, as well as the high fashion stakes set in Miss Sloane & Nocturnal Animals (Directed by acclaimed designer Tom Ford).

The variety of inspiration comes from period pieces, high fashion cinema, & futuristic sci-fi vibes, which means that anything is possible when it comes to not only escaping into the big screen, but also into your wardrobe’s potential. After tallying up the riveting trailers I’ve been seeing on television lately & replaying some favorites on YouTube, here are just 11 of the best, starring the stylish likes of Marion Cotillard, Emma Watson, Hailee Steinfeld, Scarlett JohanssonTaraji P. Cover Craze: Amy Schumer Conquers Vogue’s July Issue!

For no real, legit, justified reason at all, I was hesitant to jump on the Amy Schumer-loving bandwagon. In retrospect, the thought of it now is insane because I’m all about strong, confident, smart women who have a lot to say & say it well. Since I’m not a Comedy Central watcher (perhaps another flaw I should seek to rectify?), I didn’t know what Inside Amy Schumer was for the longest time. My first exposure to the Long Island native & comedy pioneer (shame on me as a fellow LI gal!) was during that one scene on HBO’s Girls during the season 3 premiere when she yells at Hannah & Adam at Grumpy’s after Adam broke it off badly with Shiri Appleby’s practically perfect catch character, Natalia. Watch it here. I digress.

I love everything that Amy Schumer is about & I can’t wait to read her book, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo (read an excerpt here), which hits bookshelves on August 16th. It’ll fit in perfectly with my summer of humor reading by female authors, but what’s really the best of both worlds is that Amy is July’s cover girl for Vogue!

Amy Schumer for Vogue July 2016The article (by Jonathan Van Meter) is nothing short of fabulous & funny, inspiring & honest, & chalk full of quotes & one-liners from the Trainwreck star (Golden Globe-nominated too, by the way) you’ll walk away with still bouncing around in your head well into the later hours of the night. The comedian / actress / writer / producer / cover girl / Jennifer Lawrence’s bestie / all around badass of feminism bluntly & endearingly discusses her love life, the reality of her sexcapade past, her admiration of the late Joan Rivers, her feelings about the worlds of fashion & Hollywood, Hillary Clinton, & the importance of family.

Amy Schumer for Vogue July 2016 01 Amy Schumer for Vogue July 2016 02 Amy Schumer for Vogue July 2016 03 Amy Schumer for Vogue July 2016 04If Amy’s words on the page (or website) aren’t enough to give you a giggle or smirk, check out the video below of Amy & Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s hijinx when they hilariously swap their respective comedy club touring & high fashion lives.

If you don’t subscribe already to Vogue, go buy the issue & support the print industry, if not for the glossy photos (by none other than Annie Leibovitz) of an elegant Amy traipsy through New York City in glamorous gowns & designer duds, then at least for the free perfume samples. Check out when & where Amy is touring this summer (her upcoming Madison Square Garden gig is SOLD OUT!)! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: 5 Must-See Movie Trailers Coming This Fall!

This is the time of year when big things start happening. Fashion Week is just around the corner, followed by a stellar awards season for film & television. There are already some major contenders in the awards race, but there are plenty of great films on the autumn horizon with trailers that recently hit the web.

The Intern

The Intern opens September 25th, starring Anne Hathaway, who’s running her own online business & gets a few life lessons from her senior-aged intern, played by Robert DeNiro.

Suffragette

Suffragette is a period drama about women fighting for their right to vote, starring Carey Mulligan, Meryl Streep, & Helena Bonham Carter, opening October 23rd.

By the Sea

By The Sea might just be one of Angelina Jolie Pitt’s final on screen films, about a married couple in the 70’s who take a vacation to Malta to save their marriage. The actress not only stars in the movie (with husband Brad Pitt), but she also wrote & directed the drama, which hits theaters on November 13th.

Sisters movie still

Sisters stars Tina Fey & Amy Poehler, following the hapless misadventures of clueless sisters who throw one last party before their parents sell their childhood home, just in time for the holidays on December 25th.

Joy

Joy marks the reunited unstoppable quartet of director David O’Russell, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, & Robert DeNiro in a film that follows a family of four generations, building a family dynasty, opening on December 25th.

Which movies are you dying to see this fall? Who do you think is up for some serious awards this season? Basics for a Bargain: Delicate Ankle Strap Sandals Inspired by Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, Rachel McAdams, & More!

One of the hottest shoe trends of this summer is the ankle strap sandal, showing off plenty of toe & foot cleavage. A single-strap across the top of the foot helps elongate the legline & make any outfit instantly sleeker.

Take note from celebrities in an all-purpose black pair like Rihanna in a gold Giorgio Armani skirt set with black ankle strap sandals at the 2015 BET Awards. Also, Rachel McAdams attended the Southpaw screening in a white embroidered Zuhair Murad floral dress & black ankle sandals. Michelle Monaghan mixed separates in a black & pink polo with a ruffed leather skirt by Erdem & black ankle strap sandals at the New York premiere of Pixels. Mad Men actress Kiernan Shipka was youthful & sophisticated in a jacquard Giamba little white floral dress (shop similar here @Saks Fifth Avenue) with a yellow Miu Miu clutch (shop similar here @Miu Miu) & black Stuart Weitzman sandals (shop here @Stuart Weitzman) at the Los Angeles Confidential Women of Influence party.

Rihanna, Rachel McAdams, Michelle Monaghan, & Keirnan Shipka.

For a little variety, I’m also inspired by neutral & metallic options for ankle strap sandals, great for pairing with pastels & softer looks. For example, Jennifer Lawrence was radiant in a lace macramé Antonio Berardi little white dress with a black & white Roger Vivier chain purse & nude sandals. Model Miranda Kerr showed her support  at the Swarovski collection launch event in Austria in a cream Halston Heritage high low column dress (shop similar here @Neiman Marcus) with rose gold Jimmy Choo heels (shop similar here @Nordstrom). Teen actress Bella Thorne went monochromatic in an olive camisole & wide-leg culottes by Camilla & Marc with stacked bracelets & metallic sandals at her visit to The Lowdown with Diana Madison. It-girl Hannah Davis was feminine in a lace little white dress by Chloe with a nude belt, Edie Parker clutch, & nude Stuart Weitzman ankle sandals (shop here @Stuart Weitzman) at the 2015 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards.

I’ve assembled a variety of ankle strap sandals, which are available in multiple colors & range from high-end prices like those worn by the above A-list Style Darlings, as well as budget-friendly options for the shopper looking to save some money on her wardrobe.

Accessories Access: Front to Back Earrings & Ear Cuffs, Inspired by Emma Stone, Lupita Nyong’o, & More!

One of the biggest jewelry trends to hit the red carpet, runway, & stores including dazzling ear cuffs & sophisticated front to back earrings. I’m crazy for earrings, especially because I have five piercings in each ear, but for those who don’t dare to go under the gun, an ear cuff is the perfect solution. Also, when a stud needs a little something extra, a front to back earring is both delicate & trendy.

Ear cuffs have been spotted & ogled on the red carpet as recently as this year’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards & last year’s Met Gala. From the looks of Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, supermodel Cara Delevingne, America’s sweetheart Emma Stone, & British beauty Keira Knightley, this look is here to stay.

Jennifer Lawrence, Cara Delevingne, Emma Stone, & Keira Knightley.

Also, when it comes to front to back earrings, Hollywood’s chicest celebrities wear them for day & evening occasions. This includes style icon Sarah Jessica Parker, actress Lupita Nyong’o, former House of Cards star Kate Mara, & red carpet regular, Emma Watson.

Both jewelry trends can be obtained & styled to your heart’s content, especially for a budget shopper. Not only do they serve a date night outfit, but they can instantly dress up a daytime look with details like pearls, rhinestones, flowers & leaves, spikes, & flirty shapes.

Ear cuffs.

Runway Rundown: Christian Dior’s Spring 2015 Couture Show From Paris!

Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture Collection

Long Island might be recovering from the big blizzard, Juno, but the web is buzzing about all of the stunning looks coming out of Paris for Couture Fashion Week. This includes Christian Dior‘s newest Spring 2015 Couture collection, led by Raf Simons & inspired by the music of one David Bowie. The collection is nothing short of gorgeous & versatile, mixing guipure lace with graphic prints, as well as classic Dior silhouettes & playful separates that recall Dior’s legacy of elegance with some added pop-rock edge. What’s also pretty amazing is that in every shot, just over the model’s left shoulder, Dior spokesmodel, Natalie Portman, can be spotted. Not only is it likely for her to be seen soon in one of the couture looks, but other famous Dior faces like this year’s Oscar nominee Marion Cotillard & the always stylish Jennifer Lawrence, both of whom are perfect for modeling these looks for upcoming red carpet events.

Cover Craze: A Behind-The-Scenes Look At Jennifer Lawrence For In Style!

Jennifer Lawrence for In Style December 2013

Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence can’t go a day without being photographed, and it makes sense, especially after catching this behind-the-scenes look during her recent photo shoot for In Style‘s December 2013 cover. Of course, we get to see the tall, leggy blonde with her longer, fuller hair, while still loving all the recent shots for her press tour of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

The Dior spokesmodel wows inside the magazine’s pages, decked out in luxe winter whites by designers like Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, Céline, & naturally Dior Haute Couture. The ravishing images come courtesy of photographer Michelangelo Di Battista, who captures Hollywood’s it-girl alongside an article which features her chatting about being a high school cheerleader, being a sex symbol, her choice of not going to college, & her biggest spending splurge- so far!

Runway Rundown: Christian Dior’s Resort 2014 Collection!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

When I think of luxury designers, Christian Dior always comes to mind first, especially since I’m constantly reminded of the brand’s unforgettable designs worn by some of the most famous celebrities like spokes models Marion Cotillard, Charlize TheronJennifer Lawrence, as well as red carpet A-listers like model / actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, four-time Oscar-nominee Julianne Moore, & The Great Gatsby‘s Carey Mulligan.

In the latest Resort 2014 Collection, there are plenty of sleek, feminine details in the line, including nipped waistlines, pops of colorblocking, modern menswear cuts, & flowy hemlines. The hefty 58-image gallery below shares the entire collection, & some of my favorite pieces include the separates which can dress up a pair of jeans, skinny pants, or leather shorts. Also, I love the idea of jackets too, which make for perfect toppers to any vacation, office, date night, & casual look.

Red Carpet Review: This Year’s Cannes Film Festival, Featuring Nicole Kidman, Carey Mulligan, Rooney Mara, & More!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The Cannes Film Festival is still underway; however, I’ve been ravenously collecting a slew of glamorous day & evening looks from the event’s red carpets, including premieres / screenings, press junkets, & parties. Some of the most buzzed about films are being celebrated overseas, including The Great Gatsby, As I Lay Dying, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Bling Ring, & Inside Llewyn Davis. Jennifer Lawrence has been in out & about in several head-to-toe Dior looks. It’s also no surprise that Gatsby actress Carey Mulligan has been making headlines with a series of black & white minimalist ensembles from Vionnet, Balenciaga, Dior Haute Couture, & Chloe.

Other favorites include Nicole Kidman who is promoting Grace of Monaco, where she portrays the always enchanting Grace Kelly. The Aussie Oscar-winner has been staying loyal to her classic elegance with a touch of flair in a leather belted Calvin Klein dress, Alexander McQueen LBD, dreamy Dior Haute Couture tea-length dress, & fun printed column gown by L’Wren Scott. A star who I’ve been keeping an eye out for, especially from earlier this month at the Met Costume Institute Gala, is Rooney Mara who continues to share her androgynous sense of femininity in Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, & Giambattista Valli.

Be sure also to check out the gallery since I’ll continue to add more images to it, including looks by Ziyi Zhang, Freida Pinto, Emma Watson, Isla Fisher, Jessica Biel (especially in Marchesa), & more! Which has been your favorite look so far? Which movies are you most excited to see from the festival? For more from Red Carpet Review, check out previous posts including this week’s Billboard Music Awards featuring Kelly Rowland & Miley Cyrus, mini dresses on Anne Hathaway & Alexa Chung, black & white looks from Gwyneth Paltrow & Kate Beckinsale, & Revenge actress Ashley Madekwe’s Topshop jumpsuit outfit.

Top 10 Celeb Sightings: A Gallery Full Of Black & White Looks, & The Best Dressed Kates!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I’ve been one busy little Style Darling lately & it kills me that I went for so many days without posting! So much has been going on in fashion & the May issues of my favorite magazines are stacking up, collecting dust. I can’t wait to flip through them, but in the mean time, I’ve been scoping out some seriously stylish red carpet looks from our favorite celebrities, including Gwyneth Paltrow, who wore a sleek two-tone Narciso Rodriguez frock during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Also, trends I’ve been noticing are black & white looks, appropriately on my favorite Kates, such as mom-to-be Kate Middleton in a polka dot Topshop dress & Ralph Lauren jacket, Kate Hudson in a leather-accented belted dress, & Kate Beckinsale‘s patterned suit while attending the TCM Classic Film Festival.

Other looks worth mentioning are Charlize Theron‘s Jason Wu jumpsuit, Claire Danes in a leopard print Lanvin dress, Jennifer Lawrence in a sculpted LBD by David Koma, Jessica Biel in an elegant LBD at the Time 100 gala, Kirsten Dunst in a lace & leather mini dress by Emilio Pucci at the GLAAD Media Awards, & lastly, there’s Olivia Palermo looking flawless in an embellished Louis Vuitton sheath dress while at the opening of the brand’s Munich boutique.

Which looks are your favorites? Which trends are you following this spring? Which celebrities do you think always get it right? Happy Styling!

Cover Craze: Michelle Obama’s 2nd Vogue Cover, Kim K for Cosmo, Nicki Minaj’s Makeunder For Elle, & More!

I know I’m looking forward to April for more than the fabulous spring fashions & big upcoming movies, but I have a lot of exciting professional changes ahead of me. However, there’s so much going on in terms of our favorite magazines & the big international headlines are looking more & more fabulous, guiding where fashion is headed as the weather begins to warm up. In this latest post for Cover Craze, I went all out with a total of 15 covers that I just couldn’t stop looking at & reading up on.

The biggest news in covers is that First Lady Michelle Obama returns to Vogue for the April 2013 issue in a sleek two-tone Reed Krakoff sheath dress, photographed by the always impressive Annie Leibovitz. In an interview with Jonathan Van Meter, FLOTUS discusses parenting, marriage, her duties as First Lady, as well as fashion. She shares with readers, “If you’re comfortable in your clothes it’s easy to connect with people & make them feel comfortable as well.”

Michelle Obama for Vogue, Julie Bowen for Lucky, & Emily VanCamp for Marie Claire Australia April 2013.

On the cover of Lucky, two-time Emmy winner & star of Modern Family, Julie Bowen, looks like the modern & sexy cool mom that we all wish we had, wearing pieces from Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Stars, & Pandora. Inside the svelte blond is contemporary & chic in J.Crew, Juicy Couture, Jimmy Choo, & DKNY. Speaking of TV stars, Revenge actress Emily VanCamp looks smoldering in a cut-out Michael Kors dress on the cover of Marie Claire Australia, sharing the spotlight with her dashing male co-stars  Gabriel Mann (Nolan), Barry Sloane (Aiden), & Nick Wechsler (Jack).

Marie Claire shows The Incredible Burt Wonderstone actress Olivia Wilde in a sexy sheer blue dress, as she talks about her engagement to Saturday Night Live star Jason Sudekis. As for Marie Claire UK, Mila Kunis, star of Oz the Great & Powerful, talks about her breakout performance in Black Swan, upcoming Hollywood projects, & taking a break from back-to-back movies.

Olivia Wilde for Marie Claire, Mila Kunis for Marie Claire UK, & Zooey Deschanel for In Style April 2013.

New Girl star Zooey Deschanel, who takes the cover of In Style in a stunning Carolina Herrera gown. Also featured in the issue are pieces by Oscar de la Renta, Bottega Veneta, Marc Jacobs, Balenciaga, Chanel, & Nicholas Kirkwood, as she talks about her love of all things nail art & being a role model for girls.

I featured Selena Gomez‘s breezy spring look for Harper’s Bazaar in my last Haute Headlines post, but what was awestruck by the young star’s shoot by Terry Richardson featuring red carpet looks by Akris, Dior, Calvin Klein, & Prada. The down-to-earth Texas native & star of Spring Breakers talks about her family traditions, stardom, & her new role as a single lady.

Elle unzips rapper / American Idol judge Nicki Minaj without the big neon hair or exaggerated eyelashes that she’s always famous for donning. Also, Elle UK pays homage to another star in music, Rihanna, who looks effortless in a checkered Louis Vuitton outfit (like from the collection we’ve seen on Kirsten Dunst & Kerry Washington). She talks about her future, family, & more from the pixie-cutted pop star.

Selena Gomez for Harper's Bazaar, Nicki Minaj for Elle, Rihanna for Elle UK April 2013.

Kim Kardashian is always in the news & while photogs are tracking her pregnancy style, you can see her pre-baby-bump curves on the cover of Cosmopolitan in a Sophia Loren-inspired look. Smash star Katharine McPhee look positively fresh-faced for front & back covers of Women’s Health. She models various different makeup looks including striking blue eyeliner, enhanced cheeks, & bold red lips. Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence is the focus of People Style Watch & for her stylish red carpet looks in Stella McCartney, Hugo, & Michael Kors. Also, the mag looks at her street style in Thakoon & Tory Burch, as well as her changing hairstyles for previous films like Silver Linings Playbook, The Hungry Games, & X-Men: First Class.

Kim Kardashian for Cosmopolitan, Katharine McPhee for Women's Health, & Jennifer Lawrence for People Style Watch April 2013.

Lastly, we see country crooner Taylor Swift for Vanity Fair, talking about how she’s the target of constant jokes regarding her love life, including the jab that Tina Fey & Amy Poehler made during last month’s Golden Globes. A topless Kate Hudson let her natural beauty shine for Glamour, decked out in layers of Chanel necklaces. The mom of two talks about her romance with Muse frontman, motherhood in her thirties, & how she balances it all. I almost missed seeing Emily VanCamp‘s second April cover for Canada’s Fashion magazine, but I was glad to catch the former ballerina & leading lady for the Captain America sequel in this gorgeous snake-print dress & necklace, both by Gucci.

Taylor Swift for Vanity Fair, Kate Hudson for Glamour, Emily VanCamp for Fashion April 2013.

Red Carpet Review: Complete Coverage Of The 85th Annual Academy Awards, Featuring Naomi Watts, Reese Witherspoon, Zoe Saldana & More!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The 2013 Oscars are just starting & there’s so much to talk about from tonight’s red carpet, including the anticipation behind the performances from the cast of Les Miserables, as well as the tribute to the James Bond series. Some of my favorites so far include Naomi Watts‘ high fashion look from Armani Prive, Reese Witherspoon‘s classic old Hollywood Louis Vuitton cobalt gown, Zoe Saldana‘s two-tone fishtail gown by Alexis Mabille, & Sandra Bullock‘s lace-detailed Elie Saab gown.

Other notable hits include Jessica Chastain (in Giorgio Armani), Nicole Kidman (in L’Wren Scott), Jennifer Garner (in Gucci), Kerry Washington (in Miu Miu), & Charlize Theron (in Dior Haute Couture). Not to mention that I predicted Jennifer Lawrence‘s Dior Haute Couture gown as an Oscar pick in my recent post, which is nothing short of fabulous when it hit the red carpet!

Who wore your favorite looks? Which nominees are you rooting for? Are you excited to see performances by Adele, Norah Jones, & Jennifer Hudson? For more from this year’s awards season, check out more from Red Carpet Review including the Golden Globes, Grammys, BAFTAs, & SAGs! Happy Styling!
