Red Carpet Review: All The Sparkles from the Dazzling 2023 BAFTAs, Including Florence Pugh, Lily James, & More!

Tonight’s BAFTAs were a star-studded affair, honoring not only Britain’s best performers & filmmakers from the past year, but Hollywood’s most buzzed about stars dressed to the nines. Some of my favorites of the night include the always transfixing Florence Pugh in a tangerine dream by Nina Ricci, a sparkling Lily James continuing her sultry streak in Tamara Ralph, actress Jodie Turner-Smith in a shimmering feathered gown by Gucci, Tár winner Cate Blanchett rewearing her vintage Margiela column gown, The Menu’s Anya Taylor-Joy in a velvet Schiaparelli Haute Couture, as well as The Woman King star Viola Davis in a violet Stella McCartney ensemble & Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s Angela Bassett following the purple trend in a lavender Pamella Roland halter gown.

Additionally, gloves continue to be a major red carpet trend, as seen on Princess Catherine, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, & Shiela Artim. Also, there was a frenzy of Louis Vuitton-clad stars, including Blonde nominee Ana de Armas, Cynthia Erivo, Hoyeon Jung, & Sophie Turner.

Not to mention, sleek & elegant tuxedo separates were donned by Everything Everywhere All at Once lead Michelle Yeoh in blush Dior, Jamie Lee Curtis in velvet & white, & Good Luck to You, Leo Grande nominee Emma Thompson in head-to-toe cream.

Basics for a Bargain: A Ponte Double-Breasted Blazer, Inspired by Jennifer Lopez, Olivia Munn, & More!

I have to say, I’m not much of a blazer gal. I have a few & sometimes break them out for pictures, but cardigans are usually more my style. I tend to find that the structure & ungiving material of most jackets creates an uncomfortable & heavy feel all day long. However, I’m starting to see a big trend with blazers for this fall, which has got me rethinking my blazer game. A double-breasted ponte blazer is clearly the way to go for all looks professional & street wear, as seen recently on stylish celebrities like singer Jennifer Lopez, actress Olivia Munn, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, blogger Olivia Palermo, & America’s sweetheart herself, Jennifer Aniston.

Now you don’t have to spend the kind of money that these celebs do (on brands like Balmain) for a chic, all-purpose & neutral menswear-inspired piece. The double-breasted ponte blazer @dressbarn is not only a new fall arrival, but it is available for shoppers in misses, plus, & petites sizes, from S-3X.

The big gold button trend isn’t going anywhere either to help accentuate your fall style. I’m seeing it everywhere, on sailor trousers & skirts, to blouses & dresses too! This particular stretchy jacket is great to mix with your favorite denim bottoms, a sleek pencil skirt, or leggings to create a chic athleisure look.

What’s your blazer philosophy? Do you like ponte pieces for the fall? How would you style a double-breasted blazer? Which celebrities do you think have the best street style? Happy Styling!

Ad Madness: Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s New Campaign for Paige Denim!

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley for Paige Denim 01Model / actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is always on point when it comes to red carpet looks, street style, & when she’s working it on the runway & on camera. As the face & body of Paige Denim,  the humanitarian for UNICEF & AIDS research advocate, continues to take the fashion world by storm with the brand’s newest campaign for fall denim. The collection includes plenty of leather outerwear, classic button down shirts, henleys & pullovers, printed jackets, & cozy knits, all of which will inspire your fall style.

PopSugar reports: “The supermodel, who collaborated with the brand’s founder Paige Adams-Geller, showed up to their initial Fall 2015 campaign meeting with shots of Kate Moss’s iconic model off-duty looks all over her Pinterest board. That served as the inspiration for the Autumn shoot, where Rosie worked with celebrity stylist Cher Coulter to channel Kate’s rock-and-roll appeal — a fitting tie-in for the brand’s new lineup of seasonal denim and its first collection of outerwear.”
