I love a stylish, affordable dupe that doesn’t break the bank. How about you? It’s not new for mainstream retailers to be “inspired” by high-end designers, especially the luxury brands. However, when it comes to footwear & trends, the possibilities are endless, which is the case for Steve Madden’s Kenley rhinestone sandal, left.
Of course, the heel styles & heights are different between the two shoes, but if you’re shopping for a special occasion already putting down some cash on a dressy look, why not save a little on the shoes & get some extra support with a block heel?
As spring is just around the corner–hopefully–spring is definitely hitting stores & I can’t wait for lighter layers, bright hues, & dangly earrings, which is pretty much my warm weather wardrobe! The must-have staple for spring is an eyelet dress, which can be dressed up down, depending on where you’re headed. One classic cut dress with a flattering scallop detail at the sleeves & hem can be found by Time & Tru at Walmart:
Aren’t these colors gorgeous?! Of course, I do wish for a magenta or bright purple too, but I’m pleased that this selection is offered in such a wide range of sizes as it is flattering, feminine, & stylish for every body type. I’d love to add a belt, denim jacket, & wedges before heading out the door for a sunny day in the village, joining the family for some festivities, or to work with a cardigan!
Also, with great dresses comes great accessories from Time & Tru:
I love a sleek stiletto pump! I love a pump with unique detail that offers more interest & luxury to any outfit. I love a pump in an unexpected color. I love a point toe. However, I haven’t been wearing pumps much since early in the pandemic, even though I have purchased my fair over the last year. Speaking of pumps…
I’m crazy about this electric blue, though I wish it was also made in the same croc embossed texture as the black & white options. Additionally, a wide width alternative would be helpful, as well as other neutral colors, like tan, gray, & navy to wear with a sheath dress & blazer outfit, bow-neck blouse & pencil skirt look, & jogger jumpsuit ensemble.
It’s a slow, gray winter here on Long Island, but there have been plenty of cozy days & dreams of warmer weather. As I’ve had some down time to organize dressers, closets, & cabinets, I’ve been preparing for those warmer weather days, assessing wardrobe staples that I have & want to keep, what to donate, & what to get. Perhaps adulthood has instilled a much more regimented preparation of sleepwear, or that I’m so impressed by the ease my toddler daughter’s matching pajama sets, but I love to wear a set & have struggled to find a lightweight short-sleeve & cropped pant set to my liking…until now!
I was immediately drawn to the leopard print & black with kisses sets, which are already stored for warmer months. Of course, there are so many pajama styles, including button-down tops or drawstring shorts, but I’ve always been looking for something soft without any buttons & something that colors my legs while sleeping. I’m really excited to break these out on a summer vacation or when hanging around the house for a lazy Saturday morning having pancakes with the family & cuddling up for cartoons. The material is very lightweight & I’m so pleased with the size inclusivity for the variety of colors & patterns. Joyspun has done it again!
Even though the holidays are over & everything is all hearts now for Valentine’s Day, I’m a sucker for sparkle & even stars on sweaters. Also, plenty of stores are bursting with spring-ready items, which means that there’s still prime time to get a great deal on final sale pieces, especially neutral cardigans that will jazz up any look.
SHOP: star sequin v-neck sweater in beige melange & charcoal @LOFT (on sale: $59.88, extra 60% off with code: LOVE, limited availability in sizes XS-XXL). After the code, they come out to under $24!
I have both of these & can’t wait to pair them with my printed trousers, in windowpane or houndstooth, along with brighter contrasting pieces in red, purple, or magenta. Since cardigans—especially sparkly ones—are my ultimate style weakness, I can’t wait to wear these over & over again, maybe even on date night with a metallic shell & faux leather leggings, like these:
SHOP:faux leather leggings in black & olive @LOFT (on sale: $59.99, extra 60% off with code: LOVE, limited availability in sizes XS-XXL). After the code, they come out to $24 before sales tax!
It’s still sweater season & when retailers start rolling out styles in spring colors, it’s time to click add-to-cart! The latest from Time & Tru that I can’t stop thinking about have got me inspired to pair with relaxed light denim jeans & sneakers for a weekend of errands, beige trousers & ballet flats for a day at work, a pleated midi skirt & high heels for a special occasion, or leggings & slippers for a cozy day around the house.
The 2020s have seen a major shift in style, especially concerning footwear as 90s & early 2000s trends are slowly creeping back. While a stiletto heel is classic, block heels have returned & we’ll be seeing them in the spring. Additionally, open slides with braiding details will be trendy once again, & why shouldn’t they be? The mule style is easy to slide on & when it comes in multiple colors, the stylish possibilities are endless.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the neutral/white mix, as well as both metallic gold & silver options. I envision them with a maxi dress, drop earrings, & floral wristlet for a summer date night or family party.
Additionally, nearly every major shoe retailer has some version of these mules, as well as ankle booties & flats, for the various seasons, mostly because the braiding detail is timeless & offers a cushion around the foot. Which color do you like best? Do you prefer a chunky heel or something slimmer? How would you style this shoe? Every Sunday night, I try to take an hour or so to outfit prep, as stated in a previous post from September. When one planned outfit didn’t quite work out this week, I had to switch things up in a pinch, so that I could still get myself ready, get my daughter up & ready & arrive at work on time. This was the original planned outfit, but the pants were noticeably too short for a 30-degree winter day on Long Island & I wasn’t about to dig out my boots from another part of the house.
Then, upon changing up the clothing & keeping the accessories, this is what I ended up wearing:
Eventually, I realized that the sweater & leggings are newer pieces that I recently purchased & they’re still available to shop for. I’ll definitely be wearing these pieces (in different ways) throughout the season as the sweater is so versatile in terms of styling & color matching & the leggings can be dressed up or down with a tunic or hoodie & paired with boots, heels, or sneakers.
multicolored sequin v-neck sweater in ivory/gold & silver heather grey @LOFT (on sale $49.99, extra 50% off with code: 24HRS, limited availability in sizes XS-L).
I already have the silver sweater, but I do have my eye on the olive leggings, especially since the velvet stripe down the side adds such a dressy & luxurious touch to any stylish and/or sporty outfit.
I mean, the headline says it all! All spring, summer, & early fall, my go-to outerwear item, if needed, is a denim jacket. I’ve had the same dark denim one for Dressbarn (similar here) for years & I’ve found doppelgängers in other washes that I’ve added to my rotation. I love contrasting something sparkly or printed with a neutral denim, especially since my everyday bottoms range in pattern or texture. What’s better is that today’s featured item is made in 4 washes, (mostly) available in a wide range of sizes, & is currently under $20!
SHOP: Time & Tru denim jacket in black, medium wash, brown (really the dark denim on the bottom left), & light wash @Walmart (on sale: $19.99, limited availability in sizes XS-XXXL).
I spotted them recently in stores, too, & the denim washes differ in person than they do when ordering online or through the Walmart app; however, my local store is full of denim jackets, so if you don’t have one just yet, you know where to find them!
Currently, I’m never thinking about springtime until I log on to social media & see Style Darlings across the country, especially those in warmer locations, donning lightweight floral-printed tops, dresses, or pants. However, retailers are ready for pastels & preparing shoppers for Spring Break!
All late spring & summer long, I’m wearing a dress! It’s one piece & great for casual or dressy occasions, depending on how it’s styled. I love being able to share a dress that not only comes in several different colors, but is an inclusive option for all sizes! Case in point:
I’m especially excited about the green dress, as it is my favorite color, but I can picture any of these styled with a cardigan & ballet flats for work, a denim jacket & slides for weekend, or a metallic shawl & strappy wedges for date night. The flattering fit & flare silhouette combined with the midi length makes for a classic dress option that’ll make for a fashionable spring season.
If there’s any kind of pant that I love, it’s a pull-on pair, especially after experiencing the changes in my body after having my daughter. Since last fall, I’ve been searching for pull-on styles in all different materials & patterns to alternate throughout the changing seasons. However, winter styles are currently hitting the clearance racks & spring is bursting through retailers’ doors!
SHOP: faux leather pull-on slim pants in black, rich aubergine, & lustrous olive @LOFT (on sale: $59.99, 70% off 3 styles with code: YAY, limited availability in sizes XS-XXL).
Loving these velvet pants from LOFT that seem to be in the same cut & a similar color scheme, I’m all about the faux leather option, but unfortunately, the black—which is what I’d experiment with—is no longer available in my size. I say “experiment” because I’m usually warm at work, giving a lecture or running from classroom to office, so I’d be reluctant to order the other colors if I couldn’t quite commit—but they sure are cute!
Of course, sweaters come in all shapes, patterns, & colors; we know they’re not exclusive to winter, but they’re definitely a go-to this season. If you’re looking for a sweater that seems to whisper springtime in that stylishly playful way that pastels do, check this out:
As much as the love the lightness of the white with the pink & blue details, I’ve got my eye on the navy to wear with various menswear-inspired navy trousers this season, especially as the spring semester is just around the corner. Either sweater can be styled with pants, jeans of all rises & cuts, as well as joggers or leggings.
It’s a very rare occasion that I’m actually stuck with no idea what to wear, despite my plethora of options. When it comes to jewelry, I usually decide on the finer details the morning I am getting ready, especially for the work day ahead. Also, I have 5 piercings in each of my ears, which I fill every single “leaving the house” day & my collection continues to grow & sparkle. While I do love a long, dangly drop earring for a more dramatic look, my go-to for all 5 piercings is a stud. I love finding different stud sets so that the options coordinate together, but I also love mixing up new picks with some old favorites. For example:
Winter is in full swing & every day requires a topper, at least here on Long Island. There’s nothing wrong with a go-to coat that does everything you need it to, but isn’t it fun to try something different? I love the quilted look on outerwear, so this coat, in 7 stylish colors, has me hitting add-to-cart!
I’m very drawn to the green or berry hues, but a classic black is always a great staple for mixing up your printed & textured cold weather accessories. What an awesome deal for a coat that was already an irresistible price originally at $29.98! How would you style this coat? What color do you like best? Do you like quilted designs? For more stylish posts, check out: a fashion flashback with Florence Pugh, sequin leggings & pencil skirts, & a chic houndstooth wrap for under $25! Happy Styling!
There are a few requirements that I have when it comes to investing in cold weather outerwear, including a hood & being hip-length; however, I am willing to forego said requirements if there’s a great bargain before me. Such is the case for this end-of-the-season marked down coat in 13 varieties!
I’m especially fond of the olive green, red floral, or black / white / beige gingham varieties, but can’t decide, especially when I have about 4 or 5 coats that I alternate throughout the cold weather months. Either way, these coats are selling fast & all over Instagram with their 50% off price tag! Which jacket do you like the best? How would you style it? Are you interested in buying one? This weekend, actress & singer Jennifer Lopez was spotted in New York City, taking in the Broadway smash hit The Music Man, hand-in-hand with new husband, Ben Affleck; however, the buzz wasn’t so much about another Bennifer sighting as it was on Jennifer’s unexpected winter / holiday outfit that is inspiring bloggers everywhere to reinvent their cozy fair isle sweaters with a splash of femininity & glam. Jennifer wore Ralph Lauren separates, including a black, red, & white fair isle sweater (shop here) with a sheer & a layered maxi skirt (shop here), black sheer tights, a chunky belt (shop similar here), shearling fur Coach bag (shop here) & ankle strap platforms by Valentino (shop here).
However, recreating the festive vibe of this look on a budget is easy because, this time of the year we could all save some extra cash, especially as the original designer sweater is nearly $1,700! Check out the inclusive options below:
Pencil skirts are flattering on every body type & should be in regular rotation for a variety of occasions. However, as the holiday season is upon us, incorporating a little extra glam & holiday cheer into our separates makes for a fun way to express some joy, but also prepare for parties & fun social events. With that, try a sequin skirt!
Try this skirt with any of the following options: tucking in a pullover sweater with a statement necklace, an animal print blouse & drop earrings, an embellished cardigan set & velvet pumps, & a button down with polka dot tights & ballet flats.

I don’t know if I’d go as far as wearing the fuzzy tank, but I love the cardigan, especially on green & the purple shade for over a fit & flare dress or to dress up a t-shirt & jeans. Along with my previous posts about my cloffice & home jewelry organization, my absolute favorite piece that I’ve included hasn’t been available to shop since last year, but Target recently re-released it & it’s currently 30% off!
I have 2 from last year that are more in a taupe color, which I love because they’re so easily stackable & match the color scheme of my bedroom. They hold the most essential of my earrings collection, as seen below:
