Splurge or Save… on Platform Sneakers?

I mean… with a price different of over $750, what’s the question really? Sneakers are becoming more & more stylish these days, so it’s no wonder that major mainstream retailers, like Target, are “taking inspiration” from luxury designers to elevate how consumers express their street style.

Chloé’s Nama sneaker (above @Chloé) comes in 6 chic & playful different color combinations, but for nearly $800, a budget shopper just can’t fathom that kind of an investment in footwear. However, Target comes to the style rescue with these newly back-in-stock sneakers that I’ve been eyeing for quite some time!

SHOP: Universal Thread Persephone sneaker in 3 styles @Target ($42.99, available in sizes 5-12). Of course, the textures & neutral colors are hip for any look, whether it’s a casual Friday in the office or you’re headed out in a polo dress for brunch. If you keep an eye out for upcoming back-to-school sales, Target is likely to have a coupon deal on women’s shoes, so you may be able to get these for even less–or get 2 pairs!

Which sneaker style do you like the best? Which designer brands do you splurge on? Would you splurge on these or save instead?
