The puff & flutter sleeve trends aren’t going anywhere this fall, & why should they?! Sweaters with a detailed sleeve are elevated & can be dressed up or down in a multitude of styles!
The knitting on these sweaters is so pretty & they’re very soft. I love how they can be worn with jeans of any wash or style, plaid trousers for the office, or a statin skirted skirt & cowboy boots for date night! Which color would you wear? I love kicking off the school year in a dress, one that’s fashionable, functional, & versatile in styling possibilities. While I do love my classic scuba fit & flare dresses of yesteryear, I’m so drawn to the flowy ease of a “basic” dress that’s really anything but—
This season, I’m loving the fall tones, including olive, burgundy, & pumpkin. Of course, any of these dresses can be styled with a denim jacket or duster cardigan, as well as ankle booties or cowboy boots. Which dress do you like best? Which colors are you drawn to? With fall fashion here, you can explore your preppy or grunge 90s style with a variety of ribbed & striped sweater options @H&M for when the cooler weather finally arrives. If you’re into the minimalist or monochromatic look, these sweaters–even with some stripe–are for you. Consider mixing neutrals to get the most out of your wardrobe with any of these sweater varieties!
It’s no wonder pull-on pants are all the rage in fashion these days. Post-COVID style has majorly changed & while the masses are hungry for chic duds, comfort is key! Meanwhile, the 90s are smashing into this mentality & here we have a casual, yet stylish option for pants to mix & match with our everyday & work wardrobe.
While I’m not one to wear paler colors on my bottom half, I do love the dusty rose look of these. Additionally, these can be styled with a tucked in pullover sweater & layered necklaces or with a flannel & puffer vest. How would you style these pants? Are you on board with the pull-on pants trend? How often would you work these into your professional wardrobe? About this time last year, I posted about cozy tunic tops by Time & True @Walmart & here we are again! However, the newest run of these soft, luxe, & comfortable tops includes some new colors & a high school neck. I prefer this cut much more than the v-neck, even though I’ve worn mine plenty during the colder months.
These can be styled in a variety of ways, including with lightwash jeans & layered necklaces, as well as with a statement necklace & faux leather leggings. How would you style this top? Which color do you like the best? How often do you wear tunic tops? For more stylish posts, check out: new fall cardigans from Old Navy, inclusive skirt sets for fall, & chic mixed media hoodies! Happy Styling!
My favorite all-time article of clothing has to be a cardigan. I love the way it completes a look & highlights a color story in an outfit. Additionally, I get really excited about finding cardigans with various details, such as different necklines, sleeve lengths, or button adornments. However, a classic cardigan can take you far this coming fall, especially when paired with a blouse & joggers, a knotted graphic tee & jeans, or over a sheath dress with mules.
These timeless cardigans are not only cozy, but also available in 8 colors that will get you through fall, winter, & the cooler spring months. Which color do you like the best? How do you usually style a cardigan? Where are you shopping for fall staple pieces? Who doesn’t love an outfit that you don’t even have to think about putting together? Well, that’s why matching sets, whether for a casual loungewear look, date night, or teacher outfit, are the biggest trend this coming fall. Matching sets don’t have to just include sleepwear, especially when a more utilitarian & minimalist 90s aesthetic is dominating retailers. Take a look at the matching sets below!
I love the inclusivity of both styles, especially with different skirt lengths, but I’m really impressed with the ease of taking these from day to night as well. For either look, the pieces can be coordinated with other wardrobe staples, such as a knotted graphic tee, button-down shirt, or light wash jeans. Not to mention that the shoe possibilities are endless with loafers, mules, sneakers, or ankle boots.
Once the weather transitions from hot & muggy to cool & crisp, it’ll be time to break out the outerwear options. Fall fashions are in full force right now & there are so many cute & affordable options to freshen up last year’s fall wardrobe & top off your look in style.
I love the ease of this jacket, which looks like a sweat jacket with a belted blazer silhouette. It’s perfect for casual Fridays or a teacher outfit with a button-down or blouse & jeans or topping a peasant dress & cowboy boots to transition into the next season. While I love the olive hue, I do have my eye on the versatility of the black jacket.
As the casual days of fall are approaching, so are the fabulous fall colors that can be worn for any kind of outfit, especially loungewear. If you’re like me & you have an “around the house” / “off duty” wardrobe, then you’ll love the comfort & versatility in these tops below!
I love the idea of pairing this cozy top with velvet leggings on a chilly fall Sunday, a puffer jacket & jeans when heading out pumpkin picking, or with faux leather pants & ankle boots to dress up this oversized piece. I’ll tell you, Time & Tru never fails when it comes to comfy clothing as most of my “off-duty” pieces are from this brand. I’m especially loving this option to mix with my patterned leggings for some playful & stylish looks when baking with my daughter or heading to the store.
As of late, hoodies have been evolving & why shouldn’t they? Loungewear & athleisure are becoming more & more popular, thanks to The ‘Gram, & major retailers are getting on board with this trend.
As I look ahead on my calendar to cooler days ahead–not to wish the rest of the summer away–my family is planning to attend fall festivals & go pumpkin picking. A stylish hoodie like this is perfect for those occasions, not to mention when wanting to look cute running out & about on the weekends.
Teachers everywhere, rejoice! Also, if you’re obsessed with all things “pumpkin spiced,” get your wardrobe ready for these must-have fall midi dresses that you can wear now & well into the holiday season!
I’m constantly torn over blogging about summer or fall fashion since there’s so much of both right now that is on sale & brand new, but a frequent question I get from friends & followers is how to build a capsule wardrobe. While this post isn’t going into great detail about the specifics of that, the best piece of advice I always give is to find pieces that you can wear multiple seasons & that layer well for a variety of occasion.
There is so much possibility with this top as the satin texture instantly dresses up any pair of jeans & slides, linen shorts & wedges, or peasant skirt & sneakers, but it can also be made even more sophisticated with a pencil skirt & stilettos, plaid trousers & ankle boots, or faux leather leggings & sneakers. This top is ideal for a professional look, a holiday dinner, happy hour, or date night. Keep an eye out for upcoming back-to-school deals from Old Navy to get a discount on this top that’ll be sure to rotate frequently in your wardrobe!
During a recent trip to Sydney, Australia, Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman attended the Angel City Equity Summit to support Angel FC, the National Women’s Soccer League she co-founded, as reported by People. As paparazzi focused more on the Natalie’s missing wedding ring amid rumors & scandal surrounding her 11-year marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied, Natalie makes a case for confident & poise in her preppy off-duty look.
The casual, yet classic button-down shirt, jeans, blazer, & loafer combo doesn’t feel dated as she keeps it fresh, inspiring Style Darlings everywhere to recreate the look on a budget. So many of these pieces are staples that can be swapped out for a variety of outfits, but I took the time to assemble the look with affordable & inclusive picks.
Even if you wanted to simply wear the button-down shirt with jeans, you could top it off with virtually any kind of blazer–any cut or color. Likewise, you could take out the loafers & add ankle boots, ballet flats, or mules. Additionally, depending on the blazer color you choose, you could even select gold or rose gold jewelry to add some sparkle & dimension.
Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence is returning to the big screen for the first time in years with her hilarious & raunchy new comedy No Hard Feelings; however, the actress’ style is no laughing matter as her luxurious take on minimalism is a breath of fresh air amid all the naked dresses on the red carpet these days.
This weekend, actress & singer Jennifer Lopez was spotted in New York City, taking in the Broadway smash hit The Music Man, hand-in-hand with new husband, Ben Affleck; however, the buzz wasn’t so much about another Bennifer sighting as it was on Jennifer’s unexpected winter / holiday outfit that is inspiring bloggers everywhere to reinvent their cozy fair isle sweaters with a splash of femininity & glam. Jennifer wore Ralph Lauren separates, including a black, red, & white fair isle sweater (shop here) with a sheer & a layered maxi skirt (shop here), black sheer tights, a chunky belt (shop similar here), shearling fur Coach bag (shop here) & ankle strap platforms by Valentino (shop here).
However, recreating the festive vibe of this look on a budget is easy because, this time of the year we could all save some extra cash, especially as the original designer sweater is nearly $1,700! Check out the inclusive options below:
It’s definitely sweater weather & the only thing better than a pullover sweater is, specifically, a tunic sweater! New York & Company has just the piece for all the styling possibilities of the season—for work, weekend, a night out, or casual loungewear!
Try this top in any color (or multiples!) with quilted or sweater leggings , skinny jeans & a jeweled belt, satin ankle pants & stilettos, or pull-on pants & ankle booties. Here are some suggestions for putting together a sleek outfit with this featured sweater:
‘Tis the season for festive style! As all the Black Friday deals are hitting shelves & the web, now is the time for cheer—literally! Today only, J. Crew Factory’s “Cheers!” Teddie sweater in black is 61% off ($34.50, marked down from $89.50)! What’s even better is that the fashionable topper is available in sizes XXS-3X!
To style this top, break out a sequin or faux leather pencil skirt with patterned tights & ankle bootie when heading out to a holiday gathering. Also, for a chilly weekend getaway with the family, try the sweater with paneled or velvet leggings & riding boots. Not to mention that plaid trousers or boyfriend jeans with ankle boots will also work! Check out these recommended items:
So a pair of high heels may not be on every Style Darling’s holiday wishlist & it’s nearly impossible to buy someone else high heels as a surprise—unless you’ve received a specific request, you know their style & size to a tee, or you’re a stylist who can read people’s style needs easily. However, for the rest of us, some high heels remain a dream & that’s fine. That’s not to say that I’ve hung up my high heel collection & passion, but we’re taking a break in the name of happy arches & comfortable days at work. With that… a little sparkle, plaid, & velvet perks my feet right up for holiday footwear!
SHOP:Liv pump in red plaid (on sale: 59.46, available in sizes 6-12), Liv pump in purple metallic (on sale: $62.96, available in sizes 6-12), & Lyla pump in teal green & purple (on sale: $55.96, available in sizes 6-12) @New York & Company. Check site & emails frequently for coupon codes!
I love the idea of pairing the plaid with a sweater dress & faux fur vest. Likewise, the metallic option can amp up a little black dress & statement necklace; whereas, the velvet styles with the blingy bow offset faux leather leggings & a tunic sweater or sheath dress & drop earrings for your next holiday gathering!
When I look at topper items, like cardigans & blazers, I often expect to wear it for more than just the fall/winter season, always hoping to get the most bang for my buck. Of course, there are some exceptions for summer items or really heavy knits that work for those especially chilly days. When I want to mix things up, look professional, & cover up a bit, I like a “flyaway” cardigan or blazer to complete my look & highlight a not-so-obvious color in a printed top or dress. For example:
If there’s any actress sure to garner attention for the glossy photos of a magazine cover shoot, it’s Anne Hathaway! For the November 2022 issue of Vogue Hong Kong, the Academy Award-winner channels her 60s goddess, which we’ve been seeing a lot lately for recent red carpets & press events, discussing turning 40 soon, her 4 upcoming films (Armageddon Time,Eileen, She Came to Me, & Mother’s Instinct), as well as family & fashion!
Actress Gabrielle Union has over 90 acting credits to her name & ever since her breakout roles in 90s-00s teen comedies, she’s getting better with age, like the finest of wines. Today marks her 50th birthday & she continues to slay on the red carpet, whether she’s showing skin, wearing bold hues, playing with texture, or suiting up. It’s no wonder since she’s been a designer & collaborator with New York & Company for years now!
Check out the images below for the very best of Gabrielle’s fashion history:
America’s sweetheart, Julia Roberts, turns 55 today & there’s no doubt about her style on the red carpet, especially her classic penchant for black menswear separates, dresses, & gowns. Take a look at the gallery below for some of her most fashionable looks through the years:
What do you think of Julia’s style? What is your favorite movie of hers? What’s your take on her menswear inspiration?
I hit up Old Navy last season BIG TIME for their velvet leggings, which will surely be a well-calculated investment on my part for this season, especially on cooler days & when I’m all about the leggings. In fact, a stylish look shouldn’t be uncomfortable or restricting, which is why I love how leggings have evolved & become more & more elevated in different materials. My go-to come winter time, no matter what my size is, is a tunic sweater & leggings… & why not velour leggings too? Also, I love Old Navy’s inclusivity (online, at least) in size availability for basics, such as velour leggings.
Most of my loungewear pieces are fuss-free. I don’t want to zip, tie, cinch, or button anything on me, so the details are pretty minimal; however, when it comes to adding a feminine embellishment to a top or sweater for cooler days, I’m on board! Of course, the whole point of a sweatshirt is to be cozy & covered up, but the trend of adding ruffles & lace or panels to a sweatshirt makes my heart happy & creates opportunity for a fashionable work from home look too.
While there’s a wide size range, I’d love to see this top in rich, jewel tones, such as hunter or violet, or bright colors, like red, magenta, & aqua. I’ve ordered it in black, hoping to pair it with velvet leggings & a statement necklace for a stylish luncheon with my gal pals or a casual Friday at work. However, you can never really go wrong with Time & Tru’s selection!
As the weather gets cooler & the layers start layering, I love a velvety texture to add a luxurious, fancier vibe to my look, whether it’s for the office / classroom, a weekend event, or night out with the girls if my husband. Last year, I was all about the velvet pants & leggings & now I’ve got my sights set on a velvet tops! For example:
SHOP:velvet puff sleeve top in black, bold Bordeaux, & deep spruce green @LOFT (final sale: $29.88 + extra 40% off for StyleREWARDS, limited availability in sizes XXS-XXL).
After I added each of these to my cart, I was floored to see their final price was $17.93! I can’t wait to pair these with a lace pencil or pleated midi skirt & a cardigan for work, jacquard or plaid pants a holiday party, dark denim jeans for a family gathering, or dressy palazzo pants for a special occasion. Not to mention that the jewel tones hues would really enrich an antique gold statement necklace with lots of bling or a more delicate pewter pendant too.
