I love kicking off the school year in a dress, one that’s fashionable, functional, & versatile in styling possibilities. While I do love my classic scuba fit & flare dresses of yesteryear, I’m so drawn to the flowy ease of a “basic” dress that’s really anything but—
This season, I’m loving the fall tones, including olive, burgundy, & pumpkin. Of course, any of these dresses can be styled with a denim jacket or duster cardigan, as well as ankle booties or cowboy boots. Which dress do you like best? Which colors are you drawn to? Once the weather transitions from hot & muggy to cool & crisp, it’ll be time to break out the outerwear options. Fall fashions are in full force right now & there are so many cute & affordable options to freshen up last year’s fall wardrobe & top off your look in style.
I love the ease of this jacket, which looks like a sweat jacket with a belted blazer silhouette. It’s perfect for casual Fridays or a teacher outfit with a button-down or blouse & jeans or topping a peasant dress & cowboy boots to transition into the next season. While I love the olive hue, I do have my eye on the versatility of the black jacket.
When putting an outfit together for a work day, sometimes the more subtle & professional you look, the better. However, it’s the minor details that make all the difference. For example, a flutter sleeve!
I love the color variety of these tops, along with the flattering v-neck & shoulder details. I imagine styling this with plaid pants & a cardigan, a pencil skirt & flywaway blazer, or hoop earrings & jeans. Also, I have my eye on the pumpkin hue, perfect for matching with black, navy, olive, khaki, & brown separates. How would you style this top? Which color do you like best? While I do love a tote for fun beach days & running errands, as well as a classic clutch for special occasions, my favorite kind of functional bag for the every day is a crossbody bag (obviously, see post here, here, & here). Not to mention that quilted & chain details elevate crossbody bags & that’s exactly what’s featured today!
Honestly, I can’t decide which green crossbody I love more–the Kelly green or the olive, although the olive is a perfect match for most fall looks! I’ve never been disappointed by a crossbody bag from A New Day, especially after much wear & tear on weekends, between jobs, & when I’m just momming around with the requirement that my hands be free.
While wedding season is in full bloom this summer, styling a guest ensemble with luxe textures can not only elevate your look, but offer new styling possibilities. Also, when you’re headed out for a girls’ night or cocktail event, a bow & ankle straps go a long way! Not to mention, when you can do it without breaking the bank, that’s a major plus! Case in point:
Target’s A New Day brand has done it again! They’re on the pulse of spring-summer with flattering, inclusive must-haves that make me want to book a vacation now & purchase a whole new wardrobe for it. When it comes to the warmer seasons & feminine frocks, you just can’t go wrong with eyelet!
My only wish is that these had thicker straps so that I wouldn’t have to rely on a strapless bra, even if you’re meant to go bra-less with it. Curvier girls need support!
Currently, I’m never thinking about springtime until I log on to social media & see Style Darlings across the country, especially those in warmer locations, donning lightweight floral-printed tops, dresses, or pants. However, retailers are ready for pastels & preparing shoppers for Spring Break!
All late spring & summer long, I’m wearing a dress! It’s one piece & great for casual or dressy occasions, depending on how it’s styled. I love being able to share a dress that not only comes in several different colors, but is an inclusive option for all sizes! Case in point:
I’m especially excited about the green dress, as it is my favorite color, but I can picture any of these styled with a cardigan & ballet flats for work, a denim jacket & slides for weekend, or a metallic shawl & strappy wedges for date night. The flattering fit & flare silhouette combined with the midi length makes for a classic dress option that’ll make for a fashionable spring season.
Fa-la-la! It’s holiday time for fun festivities to begin, especially when it comes to our accessories. It’s the season for extra sparkly bling & even the most literally holiday-riffic jewels. SUGARFIX by BaubleBar @Target does it again with the following selections to brighten up the weekend, your next luncheon with the girls, or holiday gathering.
I’m still all about summer right now, but the new fall fashions are everywhere. As I’ve been sorting & organizing my wardrobe to prepare for the upcoming fall semester, I find myself in need of a hosiery refresh, which is just in time to catch the last days of Target’s 30% off Clothing, Accessories, & Shoes discount through the Target app, which expires on Sat 8/20. I’ve hit add-to-cart on a bunch of black patterned tights by A New Day to keep my legs protected when the temperature drops, but my style high with a variety of prints to go with any outfit.
Try florals against solid separates or when colorblocking. Perhaps, going with menswear inspiration or something geometric would contrast a polka dot or brocade look for fall. Also, there’s animal print to consider which would highlight the dichotomy of edgy & soft when playing up an unexpected neon look for fall!
During a recent black hole viewing of Instagram stories (I’m not the only one, am I?), I came across a blogger sharing their interpretation for summer-to-fall teacher outfits, including A New Day’s high-rise slim straight pull-on pants @Target ($25.00, available in sizes XS-4X). There are 2 qualities about these pants that I loved right away: 1. They’re pull-on. Ever since I’ve had my daughter, pants with zippers are the enemy & pull-on pants are my loyal subjects! 2. They’re available in 8 neutral, professional colors / patterns.
The variety includes navy (windowpane), black pinstriped, gray (plaid), gray (& black/purple houndstooth), cream, green, brown, & black. So far, I’ve ordered all, except the black because they weren’t available in my size, & I’ve received the navy & gray houndstooth. They’re very comfortable & run true to size. I love the length (being that I’m 5’3″).
For a professional day, they will pair nicely with a blouse-cardigan-ballet flat combination or a short sleeve sweater & statement necklace with mule heels. I’d love to style these pants for more than just work though. When headed somewhere more casual, I can see pairing the solid options with a dolman top & sandals or a printed tee & wedges. As always, the possibilities are endless! Check out some options by A New Day sold @Target below:
Lastly, an outfit isn’t complete without some stylish (& affordable shoes). Target really knows what they’re doing when it comes to products in the line for A New Day as so many neutral pieces can be coordinated, especially with the pants:
SHOP: Millie twin gore slip-on sneakers in green ($14.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 6 colors), Thea mules in black ($19.99, available in sizes 5-12), Sue heels in blush ($29.99, available in sizes 5-12 & 2 colors), Corinna ballet flats in mahogany ($14.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 6 colors), Danica platform loafers in off-white ($32.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 2 colors), & Kiki mules in cognac ($29.99, available in sizes 5-12 & 3 colors).
When it comes to sleepwear, I am so picky, it’s almost embarrassing. However, I am all about comfort & coverage, no matter the season. As I started to recognize how overworn much of my pajama bottoms & loungewear clothing were getting during the pandemic—I was working full-time from home for 15 months. I decided to make the investment in go-to bottoms, especially for the warmer nights when I still prefer my legs be covered up.
The always reliable & affordable Target brand, Stars Above, proved the right choice with the Beautifully Soft Cropped Pajama Pant & now, most of the selection is on clearance. I bought 2 black pair & 1 navy pair. Not only are they comfortable to sleep in & easy to care for, they also double as acceptable loungewear bottoms if you have to run out for an errand or two or are spending the weekend home doing light chores or enjoying family time.
The women’s XS-XL styles in gray, black, & navy are currently limited in availability (on sale: $14.44), but they can also be found in plus (1X-4X) in gray, black, & navy with limited availability ($16.99).
I’m guilty of being that “buy one in every color” shopper, as per my previous goddess dress post, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it makes picking out my day-to-day wardrobe seamless between family gatherings, prepping for class, heading into the office, or meeting up with friends. My latest obsession is ruffle button-front blouse from New York & Company, ranging in sizes XS-XXL. It’s currently on sale, ranging in price between $18.00-$26.97, depending on which coupon code you use & what your form of payment is; however, I like a top that I can wear with different bottoms, but also for different occasions.
We’re almost at the close of June & my head & heart are already in vacation mode… & so is my wardrobe. I’ve always been able to find stylish, colorful, & multipurpose crossbody bags from Target & their A New Day brand has not let me down, yet again.
I came across this basket weave woven crossbody bag ($30.00) in coral pink, lime green, black, & teal blue in a bold display in the accessories department of my local Target store. More frequently now on the weekends, I’m opting for a smaller corssbody bag when I’m on the go, as opposed to the monster tote that I carry around all the time. Something like this with a nearly 52-inch strap length & canvas accent, especially in the coral pink, gets me excited for my family’s upcoming roadtrip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, carrying all of my essentials, like my cell phone, ID & money, lip balm, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, & sunglasses.
I’ve been using the same crossbody from last summer, which is also one by A New Day, but it’s become more of my casual, everyday bag & for my vacation, I like the feeling of something new. The bright shade will match perfectly with an array of outfits, including a maxi dress & flat sandals for dinner, a graphic tee & linen shorts while at a park, or a blouse & cropped pants for a trip to a museum.
