I’m always on the lookout for dazzling baubles to add to my collection or recommend to readers & that includes classic pieces that can be worn for a day at the office or special occasion. Obviously, I love accessories that come in a variety of colors too, which brings me to today’s selection:
Personally, I love mixed metals & rose gold, but I’m drawn to the red & navy options to pair with a blouse & pencil skirt with a cardigan & heels for work. For the discounted price, why not?
It’s no secret that I love a statement necklace. Even when I doubt whether or not I should wear one because it’s too gaudy or extreme for a day in the office, I have to trust my first instinct in that I invested in the piece, have a vision for it, & wearing sparkly accessories is just a part of who I am, I should just embrace it, going for it with the right kind of look. During one of many recent forays clicking around New York & Company‘s website, I discovered the following 2 necklaces, 1 of which is already on stand-by to wear, & the other I’m waiting for to reduce in price.
The flower necklace is the one I’m still thinking about, but if the right reward deal comes my way, I’ll definitely be adding it to my cart! With both necklaces, I love the color varieties, which offer a multitude of styling possibilities for a blouse, pullover sweater, jumpsuit, sheath dress, fit & flare dress, midi skirt outfit, or maxi dress. The cobalt blue tone stands out to me the most in these, but no matter what I may wear it with, I’d like to highlight the rich green & bright reds in it.
It’s a very rare occasion that I’m actually stuck with no idea what to wear, despite my plethora of options. When it comes to jewelry, I usually decide on the finer details the morning I am getting ready, especially for the work day ahead. Also, I have 5 piercings in each of my ears, which I fill every single “leaving the house” day & my collection continues to grow & sparkle. While I do love a long, dangly drop earring for a more dramatic look, my go-to for all 5 piercings is a stud. I love finding different stud sets so that the options coordinate together, but I also love mixing up new picks with some old favorites. For example:
Merry Stylish Christmas to all! Any time of year is a reason to get sparkly, but between today & New Year’s Eve, let’s go the extra mile when it comes to dazzling baubles. Recently, I learned that Macy’scarries an exclusive kind of fashion jewelry by high-end designer Givenchy, love by how luxury reaches the hands, necks, wrists, & ears of the budget-conscious Style Darling!
I’m torn between the rose gold & emerald green designs, but could find ways to wear all of them, if I was so lucky! How would you style these jewels? Do you wear matching statement sets? Which color is your favorite?
For the day-to-day grind & weekend chores, I stick to one giant handbag. I’m very loyal to it until it falls apart; however, when heading out for a special occasion, I’m happy to downsize with something metallic, playful, & festive!
I gifted myself the pink bag with a gift card, but I’m also keeping my eye out for a holiday deal on accessories, so that I can add the chic, neutral metallic bronze to my collection too!
I love a bargain! So do many Style Darlings this Black Friday weekend, especially if you’re shopping Target! If you’re in need of a stocking stuffer for a stylish loved one or can’t resist a sparkly deal for yourself, check out these earrings for under $6!
If you’re looking to add some literal sparkle to an already sparkly friend or loved one this season, check out Francesca’s holiday gift shop, which includes home, tech, & beauty buys for great prices, but also festive accessories that are sure to start a conversation about the season!
The party invitations must be rolling in for the most festive time of the year! Aside from landing on a comfortable & glittery outfit to celebrate the holidays, the right accessories at the right price are key! Finding an all-purpose evening clutch isn’t always easy, especially a neutral option that would work for another special occasion, like a wedding, & for any ensemble. However, you don’t have to pick just one when a bargain comes along. For example:
I love the neutral color + metal + sparkle combination, perfect for a velvet wrap dress & satin heels, a sequin sheath dress & patent stilettos, or an embellish sweater dress & patterned tights for a holiday party or gift exchange with friends. At 70% off, investing in both is a great idea to be prepared for a more dramatic, darker look or something softer in pastels for another season.
I can’t wait for these to go down in price a little bit more before adding them to my well-stocked & already leopard-spotted cart. I love leopard all year long, & the bow detail on these just cries out for a little black dress, cream sweater with a burgundy pencil skirt, or magenta blouse & straight leg trousers!
There are some accessories or around-the-house pieces I was always rely on until I just can’t wear them anymore. That definitely applies to slippers. In our high ranch house, since we live most of the time upstairs, I keep a pair in the bedroom for early, chilly mornings & when getting ready for bed. Likewise, I have another pair in my cloffice downstairs for work-from-home days & playing with my daughter in our family room. This is convenient, so that no matter where I am, I have slippers to stay cozy.
However, now that Target has a major 40% off deal happening right now on slippers, I might just have to freshen up my options, especially for post-shower primping when I don’t necessarily want my feet to be all covered up.
Actress & director Olivia Wilde has been in the news for all the catty behind-the-scenes gossip about her highly-anticipated sophomore film, Don’t Worry Darling, which also stars Harry Styles, Florence Pugh, & Chris Pine.
However, during a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Olivia was the epitome of effortless street style in a white tee & black wide leg pants, a look any cool gal tries & all women should!
Topped with black sunglasses, gold layered necklaces, & likely towering platforms, Olivia brought her 70s chic vibe to the streets of New York City & stage during the show to chat about all of the controversy her film has faced, offer her narrative behind casting decisions.
I was never usually one to normally collect kitschy themed accessories for holidays or seasons until I had my daughter. Now, I let her pick out my accessories through playing games & matching colors, almost as if outfit prepping for the week is a sparkly scavenger hunt. However, now that I’m full on fruits for summer & have plenty of bows & snowflakes for winter—not to mention all the flowers & bees for spring—it’s time to pay homage to fall. I have some leaf studs & charm or pendant necklaces, but they’re all very neutral in gold or antique gold. None are literally celebrating the autumn season… until now!
The pairing of maple leaves with an ombré stone effect are stylish for the office or classroom, but also offer enough bling for cocktail or special occasions. The gold & rust hues will pair well with earth tones offset against navy, denim, gray, or burgundy.
During my recent escapade into the world of home organization—mainly for my cloffice & bedroom wardrobe space—I made an investment in pieces & fixtures to house my accessories collection. Although, my ambition was larger than it should have been since finally unpacking my duds & getting my sparkly style ducks in a row. Additionally, my favorite storage piece to keep in my bedroom for quick access to my most favorite & precious long strand necklaces & chain bracelets doesn’t even look like a typical organizer or jewelry box, which is exactly why I love it!
I decided to keep them in my bedroom for quick access, especially on a weekend when I don’t usually plan my outfits ahead of time, so that I could grab a staple long necklace & bracelet if a day of errands turned into family dropping by or going out to eat. Most pieces in each organizer are either neutral / all-purpose jewelry that would go with basically anything or something so special & treasured I want it handy right away. See below how it all turned out:
This is what it looks like closed!
They’re atop another duo of jewelry organizers & even though they’re a stark white against the ivory & beige tones of the bedroom, they’re so compact & useful, I actually don’t mind.
For busy days of lesson planning, running around with the family, getting dinner going, & maybe some downtime, sometimes there’s not enough room in the day to get all gussied up. However, sometimes all it takes is one accessory to upgrade a look. Today’s recommendation is the fabric headband. For fall, what better way is there to functionally keep your hair out of your face, frame your face, & accentuate your personality than with a headband?
With the below selections from Old Navy, I’ve got headbands on the bean fit fun fall gatherings, such as apple picking & coordinating with a plaid & denim look, taking a drive to eastern Long Island in leggings & new boots, or getting together for some coffee with the girls in a sweater dress & tights. Headbands work in all of those scenarios!
SHOP: braided fabric-covered headbands in brown corduroy + black floral woven @Old Navy (on sale: $13.00).
During a quick browse around the accessories & jewelry departments of my local Walmart, I sought to catch some clearance deals by Time & Tru. Even though my jewelry collection is very full & not lacking in any way, I decided to treat myself anyway to earrings that are different from what I already have & that I knew I’d wear—& for a bargain! to boot!
The following earrings selected are not available online to be linked, but that means you should head to your local store to get that deal for any look, along with other can’t-miss end of the season mark downs!
A mixed metal earring is perfect for a floral printed ensemble, like a sheath dress, maxi, or matching shorts & cropped top in order to accentuate the different tones of gold, silver, & rose gold.
Love the mixed metals here! For $2, I had to get these!
When looking for a classic, but unique stud, these pink studs will soften up any harder look in leather with jeans, a blouse, & boots.
I bought these months ago & was glad to see them still around for other shoppers to grab!
Colorful jewelry works for any time of year, especially with a colorblock dress paired with stilettos & a cuffed blazer.
I’m not a big fan of hoops, but I love the flare these have with the mixed colorful threading.
When trying a dramatic & romantic look with subtle sparkle, these earrings will get the job done for a jewel tone or cable knit sweater & faux leather pencil skirt.
Love these studs to pair with other silver or beaded pieces!
I’m still all about summer right now, but the new fall fashions are everywhere. As I’ve been sorting & organizing my wardrobe to prepare for the upcoming fall semester, I find myself in need of a hosiery refresh, which is just in time to catch the last days of Target’s 30% off Clothing, Accessories, & Shoes discount through the Target app, which expires on Sat 8/20. I’ve hit add-to-cart on a bunch of black patterned tights by A New Day to keep my legs protected when the temperature drops, but my style high with a variety of prints to go with any outfit.
Try florals against solid separates or when colorblocking. Perhaps, going with menswear inspiration or something geometric would contrast a polka dot or brocade look for fall. Also, there’s animal print to consider which would highlight the dichotomy of edgy & soft when playing up an unexpected neon look for fall!
This past weekend was especially productive as I beat the heat & stayed indoors with my daughter who helped me organize my expansive jewelry collection, including my extra abundant & sparkly watch & bracelet collection, thanks to years of working in retail & a lot of shopping indulgence during my bachelorette days.
About 3 weeks ago, I posted about organizing my statement necklaces, using a gray display stand from Target. Without even attempting to coordinate my growing inventory of storage & organization items, I found a companion pair of velvet bracelet & watch holders. My goal is to have as much as I can visible, so that I can assess what to donate during this process, but also, what to keep! On a day-to-day basis, I need to actually see what I have so I can to choose it & wear it, beyond it just taking up space in my cloffice & remaining ignored from my wardrobe & accessory rotation.
Also, I appreciate that the pair of stands are made in 7 soft separate pieces that are easy to assemble & disassemble for when picking out what to wear on a tired night before work or hurried morning getting ready.
The below pictured stand with my watches & cuffs doesn’t have a proper shelf in my cloffice, yet so these will be sitting pretty on my desk until shelving is in place. Also, I was able to fit 24 watches of varying size on it & I have 2 more that will be added to the stand once the bands are repaired. For the picture, though, the stand is sitting on my couch!
Yes, all the watches read different times because all of the batteries are dead, having been in storage for over 2 years. Have no fear, they will stylishly tick again!
For the $32.99 price, I was pleased that there were 2 stands, so that I could devote another one entirely to my stretch bracelets as well. This makes my styling time much more efficient & I am reminded of what I have on a regular basis so as not to buy repeats, no matter the deal or how pretty they may be!
Having worked from home for 15 months & keeping my accessorizing at a bare minimum, I’m so happy to be reunited with these stylish pieces & inspired to explore how to incorporate them into my everyday looks. Although, I just have to decide if the day will be a “watch day” or a “bracelet day” as I prefer to keep my right wrist free since I write with my right hand. Oh, the drama! Also, I still have to revisit the bracelet stand to be much more meticulous about sorting the colorful bracelets by bead color.
Maybe between Only Murders in the Building & Selena + Chef, I have a little girl crush on Selena Gomez, but who doesn’t? Really? The 30-year-old star continues to celebrate her glamorous arrival into the next chapter of her life while in Italy with rumored beau Andrea Iervolino, making a stylish & sparkling statement in a LaPointe orange sequin tank (shop here) & coordinating Bermuda shorts (shop here).
The look is glamorous, unapologetic, mature, & timeless for a young woman living it up in Capri, a celebrity hotspot as of late, & shopping at YSL. Additionally, the actress’s look includes slide heels (shop similar here), drop earrings (shop similar here), & Vintage Frames sunglasses (shop similar here).
However, finding an affordable & comparable look inspired by these LaPointe pieces is somewhat difficult (try Poshmark or Mercari for similar separates too), but if a shoulder-to-knee sequins may be a bit much for you, think about coordinating the sparkle with satin for a luxurious & comfortable outfit. I’ve selected the pieces below for inspiration, even though an orange set is hard to find for a budget. Also, keep scrolling for suggested accessories too!
About 15 years ago, I would’ve totally donned a look like this—which is not to say that it’s out of style; it’s just not my personal aesthetic. I can still appreciate it & applaud Selena’s fashion choices when it comes to neon hues & unexpected glam! When on vacation, it’s fun to express a different side of yourself to explore a new city or open yourself up to someone knew, all through style! What do you think of Selena’s outfit? Would you wear all-over sequins in a matching set like this? Is orange a color you gravitate towards for summer? For more stylish posts, check out: Anne Hathaway’s NYC street style in gauzy cream, Rachel Brosnahan’s bold Loewe look in parrot pants, & Sadie Sink’s Miu Miu floral dress. Happy Styling!
As the temperatures rise, the need to stay cool & comfortable is much greater, but when you have places to go, finding a balance between the weather & your style isn’t always easy. However, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway effortlessly proves otherwise while out & about in New York City this past weekend. Opting for a minimalist cream, loose-fitting shirt & coordinating shorts, the WeCrashed star paired her look with a BarbiecoreValentino crossbody bag (shop here), Bulgari sunglasses (shop similar here), & Dolce & Gabbana sandals to shop & hail a cab.
To make this look your own with alternate pieces on a budget, especially if you want to play up the different muted tones of white, cream, or beige, depending on your style, the options are out there! Additionally, this outfit is so realistic & chic for all body types, which is why I’ve included the options below to wear when running errands, between appointments, or grabbing some coffee with friends:
As Mission: Get Organized continues, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much, but still have a long way to go; however, I haven’t lost my motivation. Having a reliable, stylish system is key to maintaining home organization in my cloffice & it’s of the utmost importance for my ample fashion jewelry collection that I’ve gifted myself during my years as a blogger, in retail, & as a stylist.
Months ago, I purchased 2 of these online, not quite knowing how I’d use them since I already have a few other stacking trays & jewelry boxes, but I knew I’d need plenty of options. While the trays can store all types of jewelry in varying sizes, I selected only shorter pendant necklaces & drop earrings—although I have 2 more sets of trays on the way, which was an even sweeter deal after Target’s $10 off $50 Circle offer! I love the bright color, which matches perfectly with my cloffice, along with the soft linen fabric!
I appreciate how everything can be seen in each layer & once I can see all of my jewelry, I’ll create a better system in storing by metal (gold tone, silver tone, or rose tone) or bead color, along with type of earring (chandelier, beaded, dangle, threaders, etc.) or if a pair has multiples in different colors, which will be helpful when I know I want a certain type of earring or necklace in a specific metal.
For the final image, I’m unsure how I’ll use the ring space since I’d like to keep this tray solely for necklaces, but perhaps once I recover all of my necklace extenders, I’ll be able to keep them here as well.
Well my family vacation is wrapping up & I am proud of myself for economically and minimally packing accessories, I am definitely missing some of my bolder & more colorful jewelry that I’ve recently unearthed in my forever-unpacking my home cloffice adventure. However, I have my eye on some striking & classic accessories pieces in resin & blue from one of my favorite fashion jewelry retailers, LOFT. The mix of the gold-metal with the pop of color can work for any blue-centric look, but the bling also heightens other hues needing a boost, such as a magenta maxi dress, khaki romper, or tropical pattern separates.
I’m a fan of big earrings, although I have not been embracing my collection as much as I should be this season. However, when investigating the red carpet history of British actress Kate Beckinsale to gather an inventory of images of her finest & most memorable gowns—as there are many!—for her 49th birthday today, I realized that she shares my passion for big ear bling, opting for the sparkliest, dangliest, & most daring of chandelier & drop earrings to accentuate her glamorous style on the red carpet.
Not only are her naked dresses shimmering & ball gowns extravagant, her accessories make a fashionable & dramatic statement, adding glitter to an already stunning look!
When considering accessories for vacation, I keep it super minimal, especially since it’s a hot summer week & I’m vacationing with a toddler to toddler-friendly places. That’s not to say I can’t do it in style, but I bring 2 bags, a few neutral sandals, 1 hat, 1 pair of sunglasses, & the most neutral earrings sets. The only other jewelry I wear is my wedding ring. We’re not planning on any fancy dining, so I just keep it mom-chic. Since we’re away for only 4 days & I have 5 piercings in each ear, I typically stack up on the earrings to avoid the discomfort of a necklace or bracelet on my skin.
Some favorite sets to rely on for chic, downplayed accessories style include these picks below from A New Day @Target:
It’s amazing that this is the season of the slide sandal. The slide sandal comes in a flat, kitten heel, block heel, and even platform with an array of details including the material, such as leather or faux leather, basket weaving, or a jelly. However, if you are still in the market for comfortable, it’s stylish black knotted slides, don’t break the bank! You might find inspiration from designer label slides, but obtaining the look on a budget for your next backyard gathering, weekend chore, maxi dress & tote bag combo, or day at the beach in a romper is possible!
Below includes a high-end example of black knotted sandals:
Additionally, this type of shoe can even be found in unexpected places, such as Five Below:
However, these sandals, also available and 10, or not sold on the store’s website, but you may still be able to find them in a local Five Below location near you! If they are $5, you might as well get both colors!
About 5 years ago, I posted about finding the prettiest & blingiest summer sandals from David’s Bridal, ones that I still wear to this day. I rotate them with about 3 other sandals, along with flip flops & ballet flats, depending on where I’m going. However, when buying a must-have item, it’s rare to see it still available to purchase, even a whole 5 years later! Since David’s Bridal carries year-round bridal accessories, along with newer, trendy pieces, it’s actually no surprise that the Gemma jeweled t-strap sandal (available in sizes 5-11, in rose gold & silver + wide width, $29.95) is still in stock & as fabulous as ever!
I love styling these with a tropical maxi dress for a party, a blouse & linen shorts for an outdoor dinner, or to dress up a tee & cropped pants.
