Once of my favorite parts about this time of year is shedding the layers & heavy fabrics of the cooler months & embracing the light, flowy joy of cotton, along with the breezy & feminine texture of eyelet. Whether it’s a dress, skirt, embellishment on a shoe or pursue, I love an eyelet detail because it adds a little something special & classic to any look! Recently, Walmart‘s Time & Tru brand has included eyelet touches on some versatile staple items that are not only affordable, but also easy to style for a variety of occasions.
I love that both of these options, available in a variety of colors, can be styled with denim, linen, joggers, or leggings for shoppers in sizes XS-3XL! These are great to pair with an open cardigan & ankle pants for day & then mix it up on the weekend with cuffed jeans & tennis shoes.
I love a peplum, especially when running errands & in need of a lightweight, comfortable piece that doesn’t feel too constricting, which is why my warm weather wardrobe consists of just such pieces to coordinate with cropped pants & drop earrings, tropical shorts & sparkly slides, or jeans & a duster cardigan. However, I’m not always a fan of the distressed, worn look, but I’m willing to give it a try, knowing that some of these colors will style well with my past-season bottoms.
As spring is just around the corner–hopefully–spring is definitely hitting stores & I can’t wait for lighter layers, bright hues, & dangly earrings, which is pretty much my warm weather wardrobe! The must-have staple for spring is an eyelet dress, which can be dressed up down, depending on where you’re headed. One classic cut dress with a flattering scallop detail at the sleeves & hem can be found by Time & Tru at Walmart:
Aren’t these colors gorgeous?! Of course, I do wish for a magenta or bright purple too, but I’m pleased that this selection is offered in such a wide range of sizes as it is flattering, feminine, & stylish for every body type. I’d love to add a belt, denim jacket, & wedges before heading out the door for a sunny day in the village, joining the family for some festivities, or to work with a cardigan!
Also, with great dresses comes great accessories from Time & Tru:
I mean, the headline says it all! All spring, summer, & early fall, my go-to outerwear item, if needed, is a denim jacket. I’ve had the same dark denim one for Dressbarn (similar here) for years & I’ve found doppelgängers in other washes that I’ve added to my rotation. I love contrasting something sparkly or printed with a neutral denim, especially since my everyday bottoms range in pattern or texture. What’s better is that today’s featured item is made in 4 washes, (mostly) available in a wide range of sizes, & is currently under $20!
SHOP: Time & Tru denim jacket in black, medium wash, brown (really the dark denim on the bottom left), & light wash @Walmart (on sale: $19.99, limited availability in sizes XS-XXXL).
I spotted them recently in stores, too, & the denim washes differ in person than they do when ordering online or through the Walmart app; however, my local store is full of denim jackets, so if you don’t have one just yet, you know where to find them!
Of course, sweaters come in all shapes, patterns, & colors; we know they’re not exclusive to winter, but they’re definitely a go-to this season. If you’re looking for a sweater that seems to whisper springtime in that stylishly playful way that pastels do, check this out:
As much as the love the lightness of the white with the pink & blue details, I’ve got my eye on the navy to wear with various menswear-inspired navy trousers this season, especially as the spring semester is just around the corner. Either sweater can be styled with pants, jeans of all rises & cuts, as well as joggers or leggings.
I’m not much of a fan of wraps or capes in my daily wardrobe rotation, only because I’m usually already layered in a cardigan, but when heading to an outdoor affair in the cooler months or settling in for a long movie in theaters, a wrap or cape is always in hand. One such topper that’s an especially great deal & super chic pattern can be found for under $25:
I love the neutral color combination, especially the styling possibilities with a button-down & faux leather leggings with knee boots, a bodysuit & wide leg trousers with stilettos, or a turtleneck with straight leg jeans & ankle boots.
There are a few requirements that I have when it comes to investing in cold weather outerwear, including a hood & being hip-length; however, I am willing to forego said requirements if there’s a great bargain before me. Such is the case for this end-of-the-season marked down coat in 13 varieties!
I’m especially fond of the olive green, red floral, or black / white / beige gingham varieties, but can’t decide, especially when I have about 4 or 5 coats that I alternate throughout the cold weather months. Either way, these coats are selling fast & all over Instagram with their 50% off price tag! Which jacket do you like the best? How would you style it? Are you interested in buying one? It doesn’t have to be close to Valentine’s Day for me to don hearts on my outfit. It’s not even technically close to February 14th, but retailers are already moving forward with fashion for the latter part of the winter season. I’m kinda NOT upset about it either!
I’ve got my eye on the black leopard heart sweater & red & white combination to add to my heart-sweater arsenal. These would be especially stylish for over a button down shirt & paired with skinny jeans or even a pleated midi skirt & ankle boots. How would you style these sweaters? Which one is your favorite? Are you scoping out Valentine’s style yet? For more stylish posts, check out: a peplum sweater with built-in jewelry from New York & Company, statement necklaces from Macy’s, & stylish jewel-button cardigans! Happy Styling!
Most of my loungewear pieces are fuss-free. I don’t want to zip, tie, cinch, or button anything on me, so the details are pretty minimal; however, when it comes to adding a feminine embellishment to a top or sweater for cooler days, I’m on board! Of course, the whole point of a sweatshirt is to be cozy & covered up, but the trend of adding ruffles & lace or panels to a sweatshirt makes my heart happy & creates opportunity for a fashionable work from home look too.
While there’s a wide size range, I’d love to see this top in rich, jewel tones, such as hunter or violet, or bright colors, like red, magenta, & aqua. I’ve ordered it in black, hoping to pair it with velvet leggings & a statement necklace for a stylish luncheon with my gal pals or a casual Friday at work. However, you can never really go wrong with Time & Tru’s selection!
I’m starting to feel that chill in the air & I’m getting major cozy style vibes from it. When I have down time or work from home days, I’m all about comfy tops with leggings, but I do love the possibilities of dressing up casual pieces when needed.
SHOP:Time & Tru cowl neck waffle tunic in black soot, light grey heather, teal star, brilliant red, green chili, & dark raspberry @Walmart ($14.98, available in sizes XS-XXXL).
I love the idea of styling this for a sporty or outdoors occasion with a puffer vest & cargo joggers or a long necklace & printed leggings with riding boots. This could even work with a midi skirt & ankle boots or skinny jeans & studded heels.
Each fall, I’m more & more impressed by the affordable & stylish items from Time & Tru @Walmart, especially as each season, they reinvent staple must-haves that prove to be best sellers. This includes a cozy non-sweater top that looks like a sweater.
SHOP:Time & Tru hacci top in teal star, black soot, dark raspberry, green chili / black, winter white, leopard, moonbeam, or papyrus beige @Walmart ($10, available in sizes S-XXXL).
I became a fan of this top during the height of the pandemic, desiring something fashionable enough for a statement necklace during a Zoom meeting, but realistic to wear with leggings when the virtual work day ended. In both real life & through a screen, these tops are sweater-like, but can be paired with trousers & ankle boots or pointe pants & ballet flats, aside from the comfortable leggings or lounge pants for days off with the family.
One style of shoe that’s growing on me (& the trendiest this past spring-summer) is the mule, which always gave me pause since I like to feel a footwear all around my foot—with the exception of flip-flops. However, as I’m getting ready—mentally & stylishly—for the fall semester, as many teachers & professors are, I have my sights set on fashionable, but comfortable footwear.
The Time & Tru twist mule @Walmart ($16.98, available in sizes 6-11) is the answer, especially in black & blush! The low heel & twisted front present a stylish option to coordinate with any blouse & trousers look for parent-teacher conferences, a midi dress & cardigan for the first day of school, or a pair of dark denim jeans with a button-down.
Also, one thing to keep in mind when viewing the miles online versus in person is the difference in shade for the blush pair, as seen below from my discovery of the shoe in-person:
I did try these on & they were comfortable. I didn’t get far walking in them, but they’re still on my mind. I do wish they were available in navy or olive since those are some of my favorite summer-to-fall transition hues.
During a quick browse around the accessories & jewelry departments of my local Walmart, I sought to catch some clearance deals by Time & Tru. Even though my jewelry collection is very full & not lacking in any way, I decided to treat myself anyway to earrings that are different from what I already have & that I knew I’d wear—& for a bargain! to boot!
The following earrings selected are not available online to be linked, but that means you should head to your local store to get that deal for any look, along with other can’t-miss end of the season mark downs!
A mixed metal earring is perfect for a floral printed ensemble, like a sheath dress, maxi, or matching shorts & cropped top in order to accentuate the different tones of gold, silver, & rose gold.
Love the mixed metals here! For $2, I had to get these!
When looking for a classic, but unique stud, these pink studs will soften up any harder look in leather with jeans, a blouse, & boots.
I bought these months ago & was glad to see them still around for other shoppers to grab!
Colorful jewelry works for any time of year, especially with a colorblock dress paired with stilettos & a cuffed blazer.
I’m not a big fan of hoops, but I love the flare these have with the mixed colorful threading.
When trying a dramatic & romantic look with subtle sparkle, these earrings will get the job done for a jewel tone or cable knit sweater & faux leather pencil skirt.
Love these studs to pair with other silver or beaded pieces!
Getting ready for fall means that it’s time to start planning days of apple & pumpkin picking or heading out to a winery before the frost gets here—at least on Long Island anyway! Outfits with boots & any outdoor friendly pieces are essential, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. One fall-friendly piece is a tunic that works with a variety of separates & occasions, no matter if you’re headed out or planning a cozy weekend inside with a good book or to binge on the next best Netflix original.
Time & Tru’s ribbed tunic top @Walmart ($15.98) is available in 4 colors (black soot, papyrus beige heather, green chili, & sheet salmon) & sizes XS-XXXL. I’ve ordered the black & green tops, looking forward to work from home days. I’d be ready for any Zoom meetings in this by throwing on a statement necklace or drop earrings. Another way you can also coordinate these tops is with faux leather leggings & a flannel, skinny jeans with riding boots & a long necklace, or an athleisure look with paneled leggings & tennis shoes.
As we’re headed into mid-August & all the back-to-school merchandise is out in stores, it’s an exciting time to get thinking about fall fashion & how to transition favorite summer pieces into the next season. Particularly, when starting the new school year, having versatile, stylish pieces that are also comfortable–bonus!–makes the getting ready process easier & more exciting.
For example, Walmart‘s Time & Tru brand strikes again with the printed midi dress with flutter sleeves($19.98) available in sizes XS-XXXL & 4 patterns: green chili, papyrus beige patchwork, sheer salmon, & winter white watercolor ditsy.
Another options includes Time & Tru’s 3/4 sleeve smocked midi dress($24.98), which is also available in sizes XS-XXXL & 4 patterns: rustic red painted peony, black plaid, papyrus beige patchwork, & peach glaze batik leaves.
Of course, any of these dresses would like darling with a pair of neutral slides, a charm bracelet, & some drop earrings for this summer, but the classic & colorful prints match with some signature fall hues, including burgundy, mustard, olive, navy & brown, which is why the following cardigan suggestions are perfect to match up with these dresses for cooler days.
Right now is the best time to shop for summer’s trendiest & most stylish pieces, from tops to dresses & shorts to accessories. It seems like everything is on sale everywhere & fall is just around the retail corner. Additionally, I was in a local Walmart Superstoretoday with my family when I came across a can’t-miss deal on Time & Tru’s multi-band slide sandal marked down to $8.00 from $14.98!
I tried on a pair, although I didn’t end up buying the great deal. They are comfortable & definitely soft, but I’m, personally, not a fan of slides. However, I’d definitely recommend these to coordinate with a multitude of stylish summer looks, including a tee & pair of shorts, print Ed romper, headed to the beach with a sarong, maxi or midi dress, & button-down with cropped jeans.
I’m a fan of the color variety here, especially when a mint shoe isn’t usually a choice. However, I’d recommend checking your local Walmart stores for the color(s) & size you need since online availability is limited.
A major heatwave hit Long Island recently, which is likely to happen again this summer, but that means that it’s imperative to stay cool! Wearing heavy materials that don’t breathe will make any outdoor time more oppressive. However, relying on linen & chambray materials will offer a fashionable & refreshing take on summer style. Specifically, Time & Tru’s core tank top @Walmart ($11.98) is a must-have for a casual Friday, to pair with shorts of any length, palazzo pants, or a maxi skirt. It’s available in 8 styles, including a stripe in black, rainbow, sandstone, & sunflower, along with solids blues in medium wash & vintage bleached, as well as tie-dye indigo & sea turtle, with varying availability in sizes XS-3XL.
I bought & am satisfied with the black & rainbow stripes, plus the medium wash tops. They’re easy breezy, though on the shapeless side, but that’s more than ideal for a fitted bottom. I was hoping to pack them for our family vacation this week, but they arrived wrinkly & I did not want to have to iron or steam while away. Overall, it would be a great top to travel in to start a vacation, when heading to a farmer’s market, or gathering for a weekend brunch.
One-in-every-color is at it again! This time, I’m obsessed–to my surprise–with the Time and Tru peplum hem t-shirt @Walmart for $12.98. I had ordered only the berry fun (pink) & black soot colors on a whim, but I’ve just added the other colors to my cart, although dark navy is not available in my size!
I was scrambling to get ready for my last day of work before a long-awaited vacation & knew that I had my favorite past-season black ankle pants & a stack of casual, weekend tops at the ready without the forethought from the previous night to pick out my outfit. Suddenly, with Barbiecore on the brain, I grabbed the pink version of this top, a long necklace, & patterned flats; along with my ankle pants, I was all set. It’s not very often that I use Time and Tru pieces for work, especially when my comfortable, weekend wardrobe is way more toned down. I was happily surprised with the final look & excited to share it with readers since the 6 colors are made in sizes XS-XXXL, although availability may be limited due to the end of the summer season rush in stores.
The modal/polyester/spandex material of this top is lightweight & the perfect blend of summer business casual Friday; however, this top must be ironed or steamed. Luckily, I had my hand steamer nearby when I was rushing to put myself together & the top came out as polished as I expected.
This top is ideal for a variety of looks, especially if you’re seeking out flowy, loose pieces for a hot summer day & when you just don’t have the capacity for something form-fitting. Check out the below suggested pieces to coordinate with this versatile, must-have, & affordable top:
When it comes to summer, I always have an eye out for a cute tote bag to switch things up for the weekend or when preparing for a vacation. I don’t normally switch out my purse from season-to-season as I like to commit to an all-year-long neutral bag & then take something else special out for certain occasions. Recently, while browsing my favorite affordable style retailers for the latest in summer accessories, I discovered the Time and Tru jute pocket tote bag @Walmart for $15.00, available in six colors: multi stripe / shocking pink, natural with gold & cognac, natural with silver & vivid white, natural with black colorblock, natural with blue blitz, & natural with sunflower.
I love the idea of coordinating these with maxi dress for an outdoor movie, a blouse & cropped linen pants for a family brunch, or a printed romper & sandal flats for a day at the park. The combination of straw with the pop of color inspires me to play with hues in an unexpected way. For example, I’d love to try to yellow bag with a black dress or the cognac with a chambray & denim look.
I’m guilty of being that “buy one in every color” shopper, as per my previous goddess dress post, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it makes picking out my day-to-day wardrobe seamless between family gatherings, prepping for class, heading into the office, or meeting up with friends. My latest obsession is ruffle button-front blouse from New York & Company, ranging in sizes XS-XXL. It’s currently on sale, ranging in price between $18.00-$26.97, depending on which coupon code you use & what your form of payment is; however, I like a top that I can wear with different bottoms, but also for different occasions.
I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with summer, even though the fashion I’ve touted (summer dresses, tops, sandals, & more) for over a decade on Style Darling Daily has been some of the most colorful, joyful, & stylish of the entire year. It’s the heat that gets me–literally & figuratively frazzled! I vehemently dislike having to plan my wardrobe around oppressively hot weather when it comes to outdoor events, such as family gatherings, headed to festivals or farms with the family, etc. However, last summer on a vacation to upstate New York with my husband & daughter, I sweat through my cute cotton dress & desperately needed a change of wardrobe just for the drive back to Long Island. Our sudden stop to a Walmart changed my perspective on one long-avoided summer staple: shorts.
I’ve been a fan of Walmart‘s Time and Tru label for some time now, but always steered away from shorts in my adult years out of self-consciousness about my body & feeling much more comfortable & feminine in a dress or skirt outfit. Now, I accept that my legs are my legs & worrying over my self image takes time away from the fun things I could be doing out in the world. I’m usually the only person thinking about my legs, anyways! So… I’ve come to learn that I feel much better about myself when I’m wearing something that I feel best represents me, especially on sunny days, which is certainly the case for the cotton & linen shorts featured below:
These shorts can be paired with any variety of tee or tank (see some options below), along with flip-flops, sandals, or wedges for a perfectly fashionable & budget-friendly day or night out this summer. Additionally, I love that Time and Tru designs for a variety of sizes; the featured shorts above are available in XS – 3XL while supplies last, ranging in price from $12.98 – $16.98. Suggested coordinating tanks below range in price from $6.50 – $12.98 in sizes XS – 3XL, which means that you can easily wear an outfit for under $20 before tax!
