I’m a sucker for a chic, slim crossbody bag that will help keep me light when on the go, but also adds to my outfit. Recently, Target has been my go-to for such great accessory finds at an affordable price.
This is a chic option for when my day includes not only a brunch or al fresco lunch plans, but heading out & about for a family occasion in a blouse & trousers, maxi dress & cardigan, or midi dress & drop earrings. Other varieties of this bag (minus the alligator embossed texture) include black, olive, green, & electric blue at varying price points.
Target’s A New Day brand has done it again! They’re on the pulse of spring-summer with flattering, inclusive must-haves that make me want to book a vacation now & purchase a whole new wardrobe for it. When it comes to the warmer seasons & feminine frocks, you just can’t go wrong with eyelet!
My only wish is that these had thicker straps so that I wouldn’t have to rely on a strapless bra, even if you’re meant to go bra-less with it. Curvier girls need support!
I love a stylish, affordable dupe that doesn’t break the bank. How about you? It’s not new for mainstream retailers to be “inspired” by high-end designers, especially the luxury brands. However, when it comes to footwear & trends, the possibilities are endless, which is the case for Steve Madden’s Kenley rhinestone sandal, left.
Of course, the heel styles & heights are different between the two shoes, but if you’re shopping for a special occasion already putting down some cash on a dressy look, why not save a little on the shoes & get some extra support with a block heel?
The 2020s have seen a major shift in style, especially concerning footwear as 90s & early 2000s trends are slowly creeping back. While a stiletto heel is classic, block heels have returned & we’ll be seeing them in the spring. Additionally, open slides with braiding details will be trendy once again, & why shouldn’t they be? The mule style is easy to slide on & when it comes in multiple colors, the stylish possibilities are endless.
Personally, I’m a big fan of the neutral/white mix, as well as both metallic gold & silver options. I envision them with a maxi dress, drop earrings, & floral wristlet for a summer date night or family party.
Additionally, nearly every major shoe retailer has some version of these mules, as well as ankle booties & flats, for the various seasons, mostly because the braiding detail is timeless & offers a cushion around the foot. Which color do you like best? Do you prefer a chunky heel or something slimmer? How would you style this shoe? Currently, I’m never thinking about springtime until I log on to social media & see Style Darlings across the country, especially those in warmer locations, donning lightweight floral-printed tops, dresses, or pants. However, retailers are ready for pastels & preparing shoppers for Spring Break!
All late spring & summer long, I’m wearing a dress! It’s one piece & great for casual or dressy occasions, depending on how it’s styled. I love being able to share a dress that not only comes in several different colors, but is an inclusive option for all sizes! Case in point:
I’m especially excited about the green dress, as it is my favorite color, but I can picture any of these styled with a cardigan & ballet flats for work, a denim jacket & slides for weekend, or a metallic shawl & strappy wedges for date night. The flattering fit & flare silhouette combined with the midi length makes for a classic dress option that’ll make for a fashionable spring season.
If you have a penchant for sparkle or know someone who loves a stylish sneaker, then I have just the thing for you–& it’s 30% off!
SHOP:A New Day Maddison sneakers in silver @Target (on sale: $20.99, available in sizes 5-12). This week only, the sneakers, also available in white, are reduced from their original $29.99 price!
I’ve only recently been eyeing sneakers to incorporate into my weekend wardrobe, finding many cute & comfortable options, but none that are as stylishly neutral as these. I do love a good sparkle, so between the shoelaces & trim detail along the back, I hit add-to-cart rather quickly, thinking about all of my leopard sweats, tunic tops, & leggings.
Actress & writer Mindy Kaling has been winning fashion this year, not only on the red carpet, but also on her Instagram (@mindykaling). Her recent post, featuring a gorgeous & vibrant head-to-toe hot pink look screams out “HOLIDAY PARTY,” even though it diverts from the traditional red, green, or metallic monochromatic styles. Not to mention, the matching lipstick!
As Mindy’s style continues to inspires us, especially as Barbiecore is still going strong, replicating or reinterpreting this look for the budget shopper is important, as the Sex Lives of College Girls producer dons a cozy crew neck sweater (shop similar here) & luxurious Frame pants (shop here).
If you’re looking for a bold, all-over fuchsia outfit, check out the below variety of pieces that range in price & size, depending on your sweater & pant style preference.
I love seeing the possibilities of mixing up accessories between brands & designers to create something surprising & unique. Also, I love a bracelet set, which can certainly make for a special holiday gift of stocking stuffer, especially when it comes in a variety of colors & it’s from Target!
I love a bargain! So do many Style Darlings this Black Friday weekend, especially if you’re shopping Target! If you’re in need of a stocking stuffer for a stylish loved one or can’t resist a sparkly deal for yourself, check out these earrings for under $6!
Fall’s must-have versatile top is a ribbed pullover, perfect for a work, party, or casual look when you want to add texture to an already bold companion piece, such as a faux leather pencil skirt, velvet leggings, trim-accented joggers, abstract print pants, studded jeans, or jacquard skinny pants. TODAY ONLY: Women’s clothing is 40% off @Target, so here’s your chance to add this trend to your wardrobe rotation!
Joggers are the pants of the season, being a cozy & chic bottom that combines casual athleisure with luxury, depending on how you style a look. I’ve always been a big fan of Target, especially their A New Day, Stars Above, & Universal Thread brands, as well as SUGARFIX by BaubleBar jewelry collections. In fact, now that Black Friday weekend is upon us, most items I’ve featured on Style Darling Dailyare on sale at an even better price for the season—TODAY ONLY. For example:
The Black Friday deals continue with 40% women’s clothing today only @Target!
Gift yourself—or a Style Darling you love—a fuzzy cardigan by A New Day (on sale: $18.00, available in sizes XS-4X). This is cozy & lush in 5 colors: black, cream, green, purple (though it looks more periwinkle, & & red).
Try styling with the coordinating fuzzy tank (on sale $13.20, available in 5 colors in sizes XS-4XL), along with any bottom: sequin joggers & heels for a holiday party, skinny jeans & tennis shoes for a day of shopping with friends, a pencil skirt & sparkly sandals for a special occasion, or plaid trousers & embellish ballet flats for the office.
I don’t know if I’d go as far as wearing the fuzzy tank, but I love the cardigan, especially on green & the purple shade for over a fit & flare dress or to dress up a t-shirt & jeans. How would you style this cardigan set? Which color do you like best? What are you shopping for this Black Friday weekend? Along with my previous posts about my cloffice & home jewelry organization, my absolute favorite piece that I’ve included hasn’t been available to shop since last year, but Target recently re-released it & it’s currently 30% off!
I have 2 from last year that are more in a taupe color, which I love because they’re so easily stackable & match the color scheme of my bedroom. They hold the most essential of my earrings collection, as seen below:
All year long, I keep my short sleeve & sleeveless tops & camis handy so that I can break them out when needed. These instances may be to pair with a heavy, printed, or embellished cardigan,, along with trousers, a pencil skirt, a midi skirt, or skinny jeans. A cami doesn’t have to be boring, though a classic white cotton one is a staple investment for sweater season. However, a cami with shine? Oh yes!
I love the possibilities of this for fall looks, coordinating the black sequin top with burgundy velvet pants & a mustard cardigan, as well as the copper with some leopard print & gold accessories. Both options are also prime for the upcoming holiday season too!
Even though the weather (here on Long Island) is teetering between summer & fall with summer heat still palpable, it’s sweater season in stores! Now is the best time to get the newest colors & cuts in woven wonders, especially if your fall wardrobe needs a refresh. A classic item to have handy for any rotation of fall outfits is a v-neck sweater in either bright or neutral colors—because, as I always say, the possibilities are endless!
SHOP: A New Day fine gauge v-neck sweater in black, dark brown, dark grey, green, magenta, navy blue, oatmeal, cream or light grey @Target ($22.00, available in sizes XS-4X).
I can definitely envision myself getting the green, magenta, & navy, especially to coordinate with a statement necklace & my favorite A New Day pants, leggings & knee boots, skinny jeans & ankle booties, or a pencil skirt & pointy flats for any given fall day! The neutral tones cry out for a bold or jewel-toned companion piece & the brighter colors would match well with any menswear-inspired trouser or juxtaposed texture in lace or jacquard.
I’m still all about summer right now, but the new fall fashions are everywhere. As I’ve been sorting & organizing my wardrobe to prepare for the upcoming fall semester, I find myself in need of a hosiery refresh, which is just in time to catch the last days of Target’s 30% off Clothing, Accessories, & Shoes discount through the Target app, which expires on Sat 8/20. I’ve hit add-to-cart on a bunch of black patterned tights by A New Day to keep my legs protected when the temperature drops, but my style high with a variety of prints to go with any outfit.
Try florals against solid separates or when colorblocking. Perhaps, going with menswear inspiration or something geometric would contrast a polka dot or brocade look for fall. Also, there’s animal print to consider which would highlight the dichotomy of edgy & soft when playing up an unexpected neon look for fall!
During a recent black hole viewing of Instagram stories (I’m not the only one, am I?), I came across a blogger sharing their interpretation for summer-to-fall teacher outfits, including A New Day’s high-rise slim straight pull-on pants @Target ($25.00, available in sizes XS-4X). There are 2 qualities about these pants that I loved right away: 1. They’re pull-on. Ever since I’ve had my daughter, pants with zippers are the enemy & pull-on pants are my loyal subjects! 2. They’re available in 8 neutral, professional colors / patterns.
The variety includes navy (windowpane), black pinstriped, gray (plaid), gray (& black/purple houndstooth), cream, green, brown, & black. So far, I’ve ordered all, except the black because they weren’t available in my size, & I’ve received the navy & gray houndstooth. They’re very comfortable & run true to size. I love the length (being that I’m 5’3″).
For a professional day, they will pair nicely with a blouse-cardigan-ballet flat combination or a short sleeve sweater & statement necklace with mule heels. I’d love to style these pants for more than just work though. When headed somewhere more casual, I can see pairing the solid options with a dolman top & sandals or a printed tee & wedges. As always, the possibilities are endless! Check out some options by A New Day sold @Target below:
Lastly, an outfit isn’t complete without some stylish (& affordable shoes). Target really knows what they’re doing when it comes to products in the line for A New Day as so many neutral pieces can be coordinated, especially with the pants:
SHOP: Millie twin gore slip-on sneakers in green ($14.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 6 colors), Thea mules in black ($19.99, available in sizes 5-12), Sue heels in blush ($29.99, available in sizes 5-12 & 2 colors), Corinna ballet flats in mahogany ($14.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 6 colors), Danica platform loafers in off-white ($32.99, available in sizes 5-12, wide width options, 2 colors), & Kiki mules in cognac ($29.99, available in sizes 5-12 & 3 colors).
Maybe between Only Murders in the Building & Selena + Chef, I have a little girl crush on Selena Gomez, but who doesn’t? Really? The 30-year-old star continues to celebrate her glamorous arrival into the next chapter of her life while in Italy with rumored beau Andrea Iervolino, making a stylish & sparkling statement in a LaPointe orange sequin tank (shop here) & coordinating Bermuda shorts (shop here).
The look is glamorous, unapologetic, mature, & timeless for a young woman living it up in Capri, a celebrity hotspot as of late, & shopping at YSL. Additionally, the actress’s look includes slide heels (shop similar here), drop earrings (shop similar here), & Vintage Frames sunglasses (shop similar here).
However, finding an affordable & comparable look inspired by these LaPointe pieces is somewhat difficult (try Poshmark or Mercari for similar separates too), but if a shoulder-to-knee sequins may be a bit much for you, think about coordinating the sparkle with satin for a luxurious & comfortable outfit. I’ve selected the pieces below for inspiration, even though an orange set is hard to find for a budget. Also, keep scrolling for suggested accessories too!
About 15 years ago, I would’ve totally donned a look like this—which is not to say that it’s out of style; it’s just not my personal aesthetic. I can still appreciate it & applaud Selena’s fashion choices when it comes to neon hues & unexpected glam! When on vacation, it’s fun to express a different side of yourself to explore a new city or open yourself up to someone knew, all through style! What do you think of Selena’s outfit? Would you wear all-over sequins in a matching set like this? Is orange a color you gravitate towards for summer? I’m guilty of being that “buy one in every color” shopper, as per my previous goddess dress post, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it makes picking out my day-to-day wardrobe seamless between family gatherings, prepping for class, heading into the office, or meeting up with friends. My latest obsession is ruffle button-front blouse from New York & Company, ranging in sizes XS-XXL. It’s currently on sale, ranging in price between $18.00-$26.97, depending on which coupon code you use & what your form of payment is; however, I like a top that I can wear with different bottoms, but also for different occasions.
Neon is always the best way to go for summer, even when coordinating a professional ensemble. Additionally, monochrome neon makes a bold statement that not only turns heads, but inspires us to expand our work wardrobes & experiment in unexpected ways. For example, Kristen Bell knows all about neon, continuing her recent style reign while balancing the monikers: The Good Placestar, We Are Supported By… podcast host, supermom, & now author of the children’s book The World Needs More Purple Schools. Recently, while promoting the book, Kristen was spotted in New York City in this neon cropped blazer & coordinating high-waist trousers, along with PVC sandals, round sunglasses, a Anine Bing handbag (shop here), & gold earrings.
While the cropped blazer bit may not be the go-to look for every professional Style Darling, it definitely inspires a new way to think not only about blazers, but also about the blouse that could pair underneath it. In an effort to recreate Kristen’s look, check out the below suggestions:
Since the suiting pair had limited size availability, I expanded my search to include my plus-size readers who are interested & eager to jump on board the neon & green, finding some affordable, stylish options below:
We’re almost at the close of June & my head & heart are already in vacation mode… & so is my wardrobe. I’ve always been able to find stylish, colorful, & multipurpose crossbody bags from Target & their A New Day brand has not let me down, yet again.
I came across this basket weave woven crossbody bag ($30.00) in coral pink, lime green, black, & teal blue in a bold display in the accessories department of my local Target store. More frequently now on the weekends, I’m opting for a smaller corssbody bag when I’m on the go, as opposed to the monster tote that I carry around all the time. Something like this with a nearly 52-inch strap length & canvas accent, especially in the coral pink, gets me excited for my family’s upcoming roadtrip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, carrying all of my essentials, like my cell phone, ID & money, lip balm, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, & sunglasses.
I’ve been using the same crossbody from last summer, which is also one by A New Day, but it’s become more of my casual, everyday bag & for my vacation, I like the feeling of something new. The bright shade will match perfectly with an array of outfits, including a maxi dress & flat sandals for dinner, a graphic tee & linen shorts while at a park, or a blouse & cropped pants for a trip to a museum.
I was recently in a situation where–gasp–I realized that I was not appropriately dressed for an event. My husband & I were going to a concert & even though my maxi dress & shrug combo were perfectly comfortable, rain was imminent & the weather was not about to stop us from going to the beachfront concert. So, I had a little time after work to run to @Target for a quick change of looks. I found leggings, a tunic tee, & cozy hoodie to endure the weather, but also, this yellow floral wristlet pouch by A New Day completed my look while still staying true to my style. It was the perfect way to carry only necessities, instead of my usual oversized tote bag with absolutely everything I owned.
A day or so after the event, I went on Target‘s website to share my joy about this wristlet & that’s when I found the navy & orange combo on the same wristlet, which is equally stylish for summer.
Both wristlets offer a fashionable pop of color & tropical feel in their patterns, which work perfectly with any outfit this season. Also, they’ll transition nicely for spring looks when headed out to a party or daytime wedding. My absolute favorite part of these wristlets is the price–$12.99!
I’m a sucker for dresses, cardigans, & big jewelry. There’s no question about it. There are some staple pieces that I love to have en masse, including cardigans, ankle pants, & blouses. However, one wardrobe must-have that I haven’t embraced so much is the classic t-shirt!
(gasp)
…Perhaps this is because I always relied on the cozy ease of a t-shirt for my sleepwear & not so much to mix with my day pieces. T-shirts are an easy way to play off of busy patterns, bold textures, & trendy companions, which is why I’m featuring some great deals on colorful, classic, & trendy t-shirts.
No matter what your favorite neckline is, t-shirts really are for everyone. There are so many styles to consider from crewneck to v-neck to square-neck to split-neck, which is what makes t-shirts so versatile & compatible to offset a busy look to keep in minimal with all solids. Any of these tees could be worn with jeans, tucked into a skirt, with printed pants, or under a sleeveless dress, creating a new layer of possibilities in outfit building. Consider coordinating any of these items to build your next comfy t-shirt chic look:
What makes summer one of my favorite seasons of style is the accessories! There are so many options to choose from, especially when you’re headed out for a day on the boardwalk or getting away for the weekend. Totes, flip-flops, belts, & kimonos come to mind, but also, floppy hats are such a fun way to add some flair to your look, while also protecting your skin from the sun. Check out some summer floppy hat inspiration from stylish celebrities like Vanessa Hudgens, Freida Pinto, Miranda Kerr, Suki Waterhouse, Jessica Alba, & Jennifer Lopez.
Summer accessories don’t have to be an expensive investment either, especially when so many retailers offer a great variety of fashionable options, including classic floppy hats (& some with a twist).
