Red Carpet Review: The Spectacle of Stars at the 2022 American Music Awards!

Last night’s American Music Awards ceremony had some highs and lows, especially when it came to hemlines and necklines. Today’s hottest & most successful recording artists hit the red carpet in major style & sparkle–sparkle being a major trend of this entire awards season. Aside from Taylor Swift dominating the stage with multiple wins (Artist of the Year, Favorite Music Video, Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Female Country Artist, & Favorite Country Album), her golden, 70s-inspired halter jumpsuit by The Blonds was stunning, paired with metallic Giuseppe Zanotti heels, Cathy Waterman earrings, ear cuffs by Anita Ko, rings by Delfina Delettrez, & a Vram bracelet. Additionally, major fashion was served by Carrie Underwood in a shimmering Tony Ward high slit gown, Latina artist Anitta in a revealing Mugler gown & Tiffany & Co. jewelry, “Unholy” singer Kim Petras donning a denim Blumarine design, Ellie Goulding in a Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini two-piece look, Kelly Rowland in an exotic & dramatic animal print gown by Nicolas Jebran, Pink in a fringed Bob Mackie creation, “Made You Look” scribe Meghan Trainor sporting shimmering pink suit by Michael Costello, pop star Sabrina Carpenter in a silver dripping Oscar de la Renta two-piece look, & “I’m Good” singer Bebe Rexha in a glamorous red Buerlangma gown that she accessorized with matching Atelier Biser gloves & knee-high boots Le Silla.

Red Carpet Review: Carrie Underwood’s Nine Costume Changes From The CMAs!

If there’s anyone who can make an awards show worth watching, it’s country crooner Carrie Underwood, who has wowed fashion critics yet again as host of this weekend’s 47th CMA Awards, alongside Brad Paisley. However, not only was their chemistry classic, but Carrie’s unforgettable stage style that made the night a spectacle for the decades, especially wearing such designers as Christian Siriano, Georges Chakra, Chagoury, Talbot Runhof, Badgley Mischka, & Ralph & Russo Couture.

It’s been quite the fashionable fall, & there’s just too much to talk about, but I’m sure that these top 10 images in my latest gallery are sure to blow away even the most critical of style critics. As signs of autumn have never been more present here on Long Island, it’s impossible not to look to the most buzzed about celebrities without some major fashion envy. Some of the favorites from the last week or so include a dressed down Selena Gomez in a white t-shirt with olive buckled leather pants from Rachel Zoe Collection, gold hoops by Melinda Maria, & black leather sneakers, as well as Oscar-winner Natalie Portman donning a cashmere sweater with a silver brocade full skirt by Christian Dior & black Charlotte Olympia pumps. Also, I’m loving the formal styles of Carrie Underwood‘s beaded blue number by Randi Rahm, Diane Kruger‘s graphic print frock by Cushnie et Ochs, & Michelle Williams‘ sleek LBD from Louis Vuitton.

Also featured in the gallery below are Style Darling regulars like blogger-actress Ashley Madekwe in a Thakoon design, Nashville crooner Hayden Panettiere in Georges Hobeika, Kate Beckinsale in a red Donna Karan draped dress with a Jimmy Choo pumps, the usually shocking Miley Cyrus looking elegant in an emerald Marc Jacobs halter gown, & Gravity star Sandra Bullock showing off her killer figure in an LBD by DSquared2.

Well, based on what we’ve seen from Beyoncé (in Osman), Rihanna (in custom Azzedine Alaia), Carrie Underwood (in Roberto Cavalli), Jennifer Lopez (in Anthony Vaccarello), Carly Rae Jepsen (in Roberto Cavalli), Kelly Rowland (in Georges Chakra), & Natasha Bedingfield (in Emerson), the night was all about effortless elegance, trendy black dresses, pretty lace accents, celebrating décolletage, & lots of sheer overlay. Cover Craze: Carrie Underwood For Allure’s February 2013 Issue!

Carrie Underwood for Allure February 2013

I’ve been a subscriber to Allure magazine for a long time now & even though I don’t consider myself a beauty guru, I’ve learned a lot about makeup tricks, how to take care of your skin, & ways to improve your beauty regiment on a budget from the pages within. Just a few days ago I received the February 2013 issue of Allure with my favorite country-singing Style Darling on the cover, Carrie Underwood. I love that she’s always a lady & never tries to look like anything she’s not. In the pages of the magazine, she talks about how her look has evolved during her career, her self-confidence, & how she keeps up with a busy touring schedule.

Luckily for us, I was able to find the video below, featuring an interview with Carrie & a behind-the-scenes look during her photo shoot, which was shot in Oklahoma City, featuring designers like Burberry, Gucci, & Calvin Klein. For more from Cover Craze, check out posts including Claire Danes on the cover of Elle, Rooney Mara’s Vogue shoot, & Jessica Alba talking to InStyle! Red Carpet Review: Carrie Underwood’s 12 Stunning Looks As The 2012 CMA Hostess!

Better late than never! I didn’t have power or cable or anything the night that the 2012 Country Music Awards aired on ABC & missed out seeing hostess & singer Carrie Underwood, alongside host Brad Paisley, in her dazzling looks from the evening’s crooning festivities.  Thankfully, my online resources haven’t let me down & I was able to put together this incredible 12-look gallery, which ranks close to Anne Hathaway’s costume changes as co-hostess of the Academy Awards last year. Of course, the biggest night in country music called for some big style & Carrie delivered, wearing looks by Alice + Olivia, Reem Acra, Georges Chakra, Jenny Packham, & many more.  Click through the gallery & share with us which is your favorite look! Basics For A Bargain: Swap In Some Sweaters, Inspired By Carrie Underwood, Nicole Richie, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, & More!

As if Long Island hasn’t been riddled enough with weather, it’s snowing now & I bundled up in my favorite sweater to brave the day.  This was my inspiration when I clicked through some of my top go-to websites to find must-have sweaters for the fall-winter season- no matter where you live.  Because sweaters are bulkier, often requiring special care, & available in an array of materials, I don’t necessarily admonish anyone who is looking for an investment piece to add to their cold weather wardrobe.  However, let’s take a look at some stylish celebrities who have been spotted in recent months donning some fashionable sweaters.

Actress Rose Byrne accents her textured black sweater with a ruffled skirt & leopard belt at the debut short film for Target, Falling For You.  Country crooner Taylor Swift looks all sorts of ladylike with maroon sweater by French Connection, paired with polka dot jeans by AG Adriano Goldschmied, Charlotte Olympia flats, & a tasteful string of pearls. Jessica Alba plays with menswear in her Alice + Olivia sweater to contrast her printed pants & bold cap toe pumps. Former Heroes star Ali Larter mixes sophistication with urban chic in a shawl collar sweater with olive cargo pants, ankle booties, & a Coach bag.

You can count on American Idol Carrie Underwood to bring the glitz to an appearance at The Late Show with David Letterman, wearing a sequin sweater, skinny jeans, & strappy wedges. Model / actress Rosie Huntington-Whiteley goes all-black in a fringed black sweater & liquid leather leggings when arriving at the Sao Paulo Fashion Week celebration.  Lastly, designer Nicole Richie goes casual in a zebra print Proenza Schouler sweater with skinny black jeans & suede pumps.

For under $50, you can find heart details, metallic threading, animal-inspiration, feminine accents, & some sparkle when it comes to wearing a sweater.  Of course, there’s the classic cable knit or argyle that you can wear to the office, but there are lots of ways to look ladylike & modern without having to sacrifice style when it comes to chunky knitwear.

I love the fun & flirty colors in the colored animal pattern sweater ($27.80) from Forever 21 is a cool way to accent a pencil skirt with a metallic collar necklace, or to wear during the day with skinny jeans & knee boots.  If you’re headed on a double date or want to stay warm when going out at night, check out Expressmetallic wedge sweater ($19.99), which would look hot with leather shorts & tights or colored jeans.  I’ve surprised myself lately by finding an interest in stripes (I’m not typically a stripey), but I love the color contrast & splash of sparkle in the Varick Street sequin stripe v-neck sweater ($46.95) from New York & Company, which is available in a whole range of colors if you’re not into the yellow-gray combo.

As seen on many Style Darlings like Alexa Chung & Rihanna, wearing novelty pieces is a big trend, & this includes LC by Lauren Conrad‘s lurex heart sweater ($34.99) from Kohl’s, which is also sold in black & white, as well as tan & black.  Pair this fun top with wide leg jeans & a scarf, or polish the look with textured a-line skirt & pointed toe heels.  Lastly, @Venus you can find knit sweater with bow ($22.00) in light brown which can be easily played up with a fancy lace pencil skirt or some leather leggings.

What sweater styles do you like to wear when the weather gets cold? Are there sweater trends that you love to follow?
