Red Carpet Review: The Glamorous 2023 Critics Choice Awards, Including Amanda Seyfried, Janelle Monae, Stephanie Hsu, & More!

Tonight’s Critics Choice Awards bring us one step closer to the climax of awards season for film, but this particular ceremony includes stars of both the big screen & small screen to unite & celebrate their talent, accomplishments, & of course fashion! There were so many trends of the night, continuing the glitz that we saw last weekend at the Golden Globe Awards, including dramatic metallic gown, classic black dresses with cut-outs, neutral / champagne tones, midi-length designs, variations on the naked dress, bold pops of color, & multicolored dresses.

Some of my favorites of the night include Abbott Elementary actress Sheryl Lee Ralph–who arrived in what I like to call “a winner’s dress” by Jovana Louis, Glass Onion star Kate Hudson‘s silver sheer halter gown by Oscar de la Renta, Pam & Tommy nominee Lily James modernizing another Old Hollywood look by Oscar de la Renta, The Whale‘s Sadie Sink in a youthful Chanel frock, host Chelsea Handler in a chic orange Maticevski design, along with Everything Everywhere All at One supporting actress Stephanie Hsu in a classic tangerine Valentino gown, Niecy Nash-Betts shimmering in a Jason Wu confection, & the always glamorous Angela Bassett in a black velvet Christian Siriano design (& she nabbed another award for her gripping performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever). Cover Craze: Beyoncé’s Renaissance Images are Just as Evocative as Her Music!

Usually Style Darling Daily‘s Cover Craze posts categorize stylish stars on the cover of magazines, but a new images worthy of celebration include the companion art to Beyoncé‘s Renaissance album. The staggeringly stylish collection of images goes beyond Vogue or what any music video can do in setting the tone for the 28-time Grammy winner’s seventh studio album that was produced over the course of the last three years, including during the pandemic, featuring a mix of dance, pop, funk, & techno sounds to get listeners moving!

In addition to the uptempo sound on the album, the visuals feature looks from brands & designers like Natalia Fedner, Dolce & Gabbana, Mugler, Schiaparelli, Rick Owens, Bethany Cordwell, Buerlangma, Alaia, Brian Lichtenberg, Gucci, Melissa Simon Hartman, House of Emmanuele, Christopher John Rogers, Piers Atkinson, Luis De Javier, Philipp Plein, & Gianni Naazar & Nusi Quero, all styled by Marni Senofonte & KJ Moody.

Not only are the album’s images inspired by Beyoncé’s mature & artistic side, but according to Insider, the three-act project “pays homage to queer ball culture” & “is indebted to her late Uncle Johnny, whom she described in 2019 as ‘the most fabulous gay man I’ve ever met,'” adding, “‘He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album.'”

What do you think of Beyoncé’s album & art? Have you been listening to “Break My Soul” on repeat? What’s your favorite song on the album?

08/05/2022 Darling of the Day: Anne Hathaway’s Breezy & Coastal Gauze Glam in NYC!

As the temperatures rise, the need to stay cool & comfortable is much greater, but when you have places to go, finding a balance between the weather & your style isn’t always easy. However, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway effortlessly proves otherwise while out & about in New York City this past weekend. Actress Taraji P. She’s not just the star of the comedy, but also serves as executive producer for the film. Cover Craze: Selena Gomez for Vogue’s April Issue!

Selena Gomez is a force to be reckoned with & her latest appearance on American Vogue (the first time she’s appeared on the revered fashion magazine’s cover) is just another example of how the multitalented star is truly herself & a superstar at the same time. During her interview, she discusses everything from mental health & therapy, growing up in the spotlight, why she’s ghosting on Instagram, how she’s keeping mum on her new relationship with The Weeknd, & what’s next for her both personally & professionally.

Not only does the 24-year-old stun on stage & the big screen, but the Vogue shoot is fraught with sexy spring & summer style, as she wears designers like Balenciaga, Tory Burch, Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana, to name a few.

Luxury Look-Alikes for Less: Affordable Flats, Heels, & Booties for the Holidays!

When it comes to putting together the perfect holiday looks throughout the season, I’m always thinking about both style & comfort for wherever I’m headed. Additionally, as I’m shopping around for special extras as I plan which events I’m attending, my shoe choices sometimes inform how the rest of my look is going to come together. With that in mind, I’m budget-conscious, but also very inspired by the trendiest, luxury designs on the market since details like lace, glitz, texture, & color are so important in expressing my mood & personality. As I perused some of my favorite online resources, I saw several common themes for fall / winter shoes, which allowed me to seek out lower price points to fill my wardrobe & heart with more footwear joy!

As we approach the holidays, I’m pretty obsessed with a pointy toe flat because it resolves the issue I always had about wearing flats with a pencil skirt or sheath dress. I always felt like my legline was never justly enhanced by a sweet ballet flat, but when the pointy toe flat trend rolled around, I knew there was so much styling potential. ‘Tis the season for some sparkle! Therefore, finding the below sparkly flats immediately made me think about how they add and elegant pop of shine to an LBD, sweater dress with tights, or even dressing up a chunky sweater with leggings.

SHOP: (left) Giuseppe Zannoti embellished flats @Farfetch & (right) pointed toe flats @H&M.

Perhaps the funnest recent trend to hit flats is the pom pom. It’s eye-catching & playful, which screams holiday-ready, especially in the always neutral black where you can style up a fit & flare dress, lace shorts & blouse, or tweed suit separates. Perhaps this trend might not work for your everyday shoe needs, but it’s a cheeky & fashion forward way to have a great time at a holiday party!

SHOP: (left) Gucci mink pom pom flats @BySymphony & (right) furry pomp pom flats @GOjane.

A pair of black pumps is must-have for any time of the year. When selecting how to transition your day look to night when leaving to office & hitting up a cocktails with friends, mixing up textures from classic leather to rich velvet will help do the trick. It’s not secret that the right pair of pumps will change your posture more confidently, but with these, you can strut your stuff in style with an unexpected & luxe detail of velvet.

SHOP: (left) Jimmy Choo Romy pumps @My Theresa & (right) velvet stiletto pumps @Wet Seal.

Lastly, fall is all about the ankle bootie! When you’re looking for a combination of edgy & feminine, a touch of lace hugging across the foot adds interest. The delicate detail will only amplify your other accessories like a thick patent belt over a shirt dress or houndstooth in a scarf over a trench. You can walk tall knowing that your outfit is slaying with each step, but you’re not breaking the bank either!

SHOP: (left) Dolce & Gabbana lace booties @Saks Fifth Avenue & (right) Amber lace bootie @Dressbarn.

What trends are you looking to explore this holiday season? Where are you shopping for the best bargain deals? Which designers are inspiring your wardrobe? Happy Styling!
