Sunday night’s Oscars were magical, celebrating the magic of film; however, the after parties included a tremendous amount of sparkle, skin, & jewels as stars attend either or both the Vanity Fair Oscars Party or the bash for the Elton John AIDS Foundation. Last night’s #MetGala at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art honored Asian-inspired fashion with Anna Wintour‘s latest exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass. In attendance were top A-listers from the realms of fashion, music, Hollywood, & more, wowing on the red carpet & showing support for the art of fashion. Some of the greatest risk takers of the night included Rihanna in a stunning  over-the-top gold design by Guo Pei, Beyoncé‘s barely there shimmering gown by Givenchy, Jennifer Lopez who showed off her best assets in a Versace design, Sarah Jessica Parker‘s collaboration with H&M & a masterfully crafted Philip Treacy headpiece, the always elegant Kerry Washington in a pink Prada confection, & Anne Hathaway‘s futuristic & sleek hooded gold gown by Ralph Lauren.

Looking outside my window, I see hip-high layers of snow slowly melting down & all I can think about it spring. I love dresses, light layers, & pops of color. While New York Fashion Week is currently underway, we can catch a glimpse of the best spring styles in the latest magazines hitting newsstands this month. In the mean time, for the res of us here in the Northeast, I’d like to jump on the spring bandwagon with the latest ads for Versace‘s Spring / Summer 2013 Collection. The sultry & sexy desert beach-themed ads features models Daria Werbowy & Joan Smalls, clutched by the arms of some very well-oiled scantily clad men. Of course, the lovely ladies are adorned with Versace’s metallic-heavy accessories with coin necklaces, studded bags, & knee-high gladiator sandals.

Red Carpet Review: The Versace for H&M Debut featuring Jessica Alba, Jennifer Hudson, Blake Lively, & More!

I recently wrote for my Culture Mob column, A Dash of Fashion, about The Details Behind Versace’s Collection for H&M.  Last night in New York, throngs of celebrities & fashionistas gathered to celebrate the line by designer Donatella Versace, which she recently told In Style: “I want to give young people my own history, the Versace brand history, and the most iconic fashion moments of Versace.”

Although the line isn’t available in H&M stores until November 17th, some of the major players in fashion like Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, & Selma Blair showed their support for bringing the Versace name to mainstream shoppers. Emma Roberts, Abbie Cornish, & Nicki Minaj played with separates, while Jennifer Hudson, Chloe Moretz, & Kaylee DeFer showed off their elegant & edgy frocks.  Also, Uma Thurman sports an age-appropriate gown from the line with a contemporary touch in the blazer & strappy sandals.

Which of these looks would you wear?  I’m loving Jessica Alba’s demure approach with the black opague tights & tied back bun.  Also, I do love Chloe Moretz’s unexpected shoe choice with the yellow sheath dress.  Check out more images & prices from the line here! Happy Styling!
