Cover Craze: Adele’s Glorious Comeback & Style for ELLE’s September 2022 Issue!


When Adele sings, talks, poses for a photo shoot, & posts on Instagram, the world stops & for good reason! ELLE knows this, which is why the 15-time Grammy winner is featured on the coveted September issue cover in all of her diva glory, beauty, & style. In the article, written by Emma Carmichael & photographed by Mario Sorrenti, Adele discusses the heartbreak behind cancelling her Las Vegas residency, being a mother to her 9-year-old son Angelo, the authenticity of her performances, her continued excitement to share her recent album 30 with audiences, & her relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

For her show in London earlier this year, Adele recounts the audience’s response to her hit ballad “Someone Like You,” stating, “I wrote that on my own, in my little tiny flat, when I was 21…The fact that they all still remember the words and love the song, it was just incredible.” Also, the singer cherishes & still learns from the early days of her career to keep her grounded, sharing, “I remember writing 19 very, very much, and going from the studio to meet my friends at the pub. I remember getting on the Tube and going to every meeting I had, and I remember going to after-parties of my friends’ little gigs. I remember all of those things, and I remember all of the first times I did something. I remember them even when I’m doing them for the millionth time.”

Hollywood was all aglow tonight with not only the stars of Marvel’s latest Thor: Love & Thunder, but the premiere dazzled with red carpet looks from the film’s stylish stars. This includes leading lady Natalie Portman who sparkled in rose gold Celine Couture mini dress, the always stunning Tessa Thompson who was sleek in a cut-out Armani Prive column gown, badass Karen Gillan who played with florals in an Oscar de la Renta mini, Kat Dennings wore a flirty black mini dress by Alessandra Rich, Elsa Pataky stepped out in a plunging Dundas gown, Xochitl Gomez struck a pose in a red Monot, Eternals actress Lia McHugh wore a floral ruffle PatBo gown, & Jaimie Alexander‘s purple Marc Jacobs number made a statement. Tonight’s Emmy awards are already causing a buzz all over the internet, especially among fashion bloggers everywhere. I have nothing but love to show for all the female nominees & presenters on the red carpet. At the end of the day, it’s all about positively celebrating today’s most talented women. However, when it comes to fashion, there’s a legacy about the red carpet & seeing high-end couture & designers’ visions come to life on some of our favorite stars.

Some of my favorites walked the red carpet in California’s sweltering heat to the beat of their own stylish drum, including Scandal star Kerry Washington (in Marc Jacobs), Modern Family star Sarah Hyland (in Zac Posen), a bold January Jones (in  Ulyana Sergeenko), Empire‘s Cookie, Taraji P. Henson (in Alexander Wang), & funny girl Amy Schumer (in Zac Posen).

Last night’s #MetGala at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art honored Asian-inspired fashion with Anna Wintours latest exhibition, China: Through the Looking Glass. In attendance were top A-listers from the realms of fashion, music, Hollywood, & more, wowing on the red carpet & showing support for the art of fashion. Some of the greatest risk takers of the night included Rihanna in a stunning  over-the-top gold design by Guo Pei, Beyoncé‘s barely there shimmering gown by Givenchy, Jennifer Lopez who showed off her best assets in a Versace design, Sarah Jessica Parker‘s collaboration with H&M & a masterfully crafted Philip Treacy headpiece, the always elegant Kerry Washington in a pink Prada confection, & Anne Hathaway‘s futuristic & sleek hooded gold gown by Ralph Lauren.

Last night’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards were full of red carpet surprises from veteran A-listers like Cake nominee Jennifer Aniston (in vintage Galliano), Birdman‘s Emma Stone (in Dior Couture), America’s sweetheart Julia Roberts (in Givenchy), Homeland‘s Claire Danes (in Marc Jacobs), & last year’s it-girl, Lupita Nyong’o (in Elie Saab). Also, there were plenty of newcomers who made an impact, including many Orange is the New Black winners like Uzo Aduba (in Angel Sanchez) & Danielle Brooks (in Christian Siriano), as well as Game of ThronesMaisie Williams (in Self-Portrait).

Some of my favorites of the night included The Imitation Game nominee Keira Knightley (in Erdem), Wild‘s Reese Witherspoon (in Atelier Versace), model & wife, Camila Alves McConauhey (in Donna Karan), designer darling Emmy Rossum (in Armani Prive), Modern Family‘s rising star Sarah Hyland (in Vera Wang), St. Vincent nominee Naomi Watts (in Balenciaga), How to Get Away with Murder winner Viola Davis (in Max Mara), & this season’s golden girl, Still Alice winner, Julianne Moore (in Givenchy).

Now the official countdown to the Academy Awards can begin, which takes place on Sunday February 22nd, sure to wow & inspire more amazing style. Who wore your favorite look?
