The fashion world is still reeling over the breathtaking & risqué red carpet rollout of the stars at this week’s Met Gala. Many of the guests wore Chanel, Thom Browne, Valentino, Versace, Gucci, & more. In addition to viewing the red carpet moments, Vogue captured video of the getting-ready process for many of the night’s most buzzed about celebrities, including Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Michelle Yeoh, Alia Bhatt, Jennie Kim, Cara Delevingne, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, Jenna Ortega, & Bad Bunny. See below!
Monday night’s Met Gala celebration is still a hot topic of fashion, beauty, pop culture, & so much more so many days later. It’s not wonder since the stars brought out all the stops with their couture, glamour, & playfulness. Let’s take a closer look at some of the cream carpet’s most delectable jewelry & astounding beauty tricks to highlight the night’s theme, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. Some of my favorites include Anne Hathaway‘s bouffant, Jessica Chastain‘s platinum look, Dua Lipa‘s stunning necklace, Sydney Sweeney‘s bombshell aesthetic, Amanda Seyfried‘s 70’s curls, Lizzo‘s pearls, Florence Pugh‘s shaved head & headpiece, & Doja Cat‘s feline-inspiration!
Aside from the Academy Awards & Golden Globe Awards, one of fashion’s biggest nights is the Costume Institute’s Met Gala. This year, the celebration’s theme honors the late Karl Lagerfeld with Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. British fashion legend Vivienne Westwood passed away today at the age of 81. Her career began in the 1970s, proving relevant every decade with its blatantly refreshing combination of punk meets glam. Westwood’s signature corseted design with a deconstructed sweetheart neckline has drawn the attention of celebrity A-listers for good reason, especially as many stars have returned to the label time & time again, including Euphoria’s Zendaya, singer Gwen Stefani, Oscar-winner Jessica Chastain, The Crown’s Helena Bonham-Carter, Wednesday actress Gwendoline Christie, the always stylish Kate Beckinsale, Disenchanted star Amy Adams, The Great lead Elle Fanning, pop singer Katy Perry, Westworld actress Thandiwe Newton, & of course, Sarah Jessica Parker’s iconic Carrie Bradshaw in her gown from the Sex & the City film, which reappears in the upcoming second season of And Just Like That.
Take a look through the images below as we honor Westwood’s creative contributions to fashion & the inspiration she imbues on Style Darlings everywhere.
