Cover Craze: 36 International September Issue Covers!

Last year when I posted the amazing September issues, I featured a mere 21, but even though we’re already into the ninth calendar month, I figured that in celebration of New York Fashion Week (#NYFW), I’d expand & look for more. My mailbox is bursting with the American issues of some of my favorite magazines, but I was also delighted to see A-listers like Claire Danes, Keira Knightley, Kate Bosworth, & Mia Wasikowska on international covers. To keep this post short & sweet, here’s what we have!

Ad Madness: Gisele Bundchen Models For H&M Latest Fall Campaign!

Gisele Bundchen for H&M 01

Back in April, the world was swooning over Beyoncé‘s debut ad campaign for H&M, but now that the fall is here, the Swedish retailer is pursuing a fresh, new look for its latest collection. The answer to this is none other than Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen, who looks nothing short of fabulous wearing the polished & preppy fall duds.

These images call on everything that’s great about fall fashion, like fluffy sweaters, deep saturated hues, rich textures & luxe layers, sharp accessories, & sophisticated outerwear. Even though the summer isn’t over yet & you shouldn’t pack up your maxi dresses or gladiator sandals, but planning ahead for some killer new fashions for autumn isn’t such a bad idea either.

What do you think of Gisele as H&M’s newest spokesmodel? What fall must-haves are on your shopping list? Red Carpet Review: The Best (310) Celebrity Looks of 2011!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I’ve been compiling a long list of my favorite looks during the 2011 calendar year & while there are still a few days left, I wanted to share the highs of the red carpet, press events, famous Style Darlings on the street, as well as the looks that have made the headlines.  This is the ultimate gallery of the ensembles to wear for formal occasions, out & about on the street, to a cocktail party, or a date night, including the best descriptions that I could find of who wore what!  For more looks that I’ve featured this year, check out Darling of the Day, Red Carpet Review, Magazine Must-Haves, Silver Screen StyleStyle ABC’s (x3), & Watch This Style– all categories that thrive on celebrity-inspiration for your style on a budget.  I hope all of you had a prosperous 2011 & continue to do good for those around you, as well as for your style!  Happy Styling!

Style ABC’s (x3): G is for Gucci, Gossip Girl, & Gisele Bundchen!

is for Gucci, Gossip Girl, & Gisele Bundchen! In the latest edition of Style ABC’s (x3), we’re taking a look at one of my favorite brands (even though I don’t own anything by it)… Gucci is an Italian fashion house, known mostly for its leather goods, but as you can tell by the runway & red carpet shots below, the brand is nothing short of modern, elegant, & chic!

Jennifer Lopez was seen at this year’s Met Costume Institute Gala (check out the red carpet here) in a fuchsia cut-out dress with a floral shrug & nearly stole the spotlight from the hundred of other fabulously-dressed celebrities who attended the prestigious formal event.  In addition, Jessica Alba wore the one-shoulder sparkling blue fitted dress at an event for the brand.  Also, Bridesmaids star Rose Byrne dazzled at last year’s Emmy’s in a white & gold Grecian-inspired gown (for more on the ceremony’s red carpet, click here).

If you’re looking to score some Gucci goods, then you’re gonna have to either head to the Gucci online boutique, or do some digging of your own on sites like Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s (accessories only), Bluefly, or Amazon.

Do you fancy yourself a Gucci girl?  What’s your favorite piece?  How much would you spend on a Gucci item?  What’s your favorite red carpet look by the designer?  For more on Gucci’s runway collections, check out In Style‘s designer dossier!

Gossip Girl is certainly not the television show to watch for quality drama & dialogue, but it’s definitely made an admirable attempt to step into the much younger Manolo Blahniks of the small screen likes of the Sex & the City ladies.

Now, there’s so much I can say to describe the fabulousness of Blair Waldorf (played viciously by Leighton Meester) & her sometimes BFFrenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen (played by the legging Blake Lively) in terms of their preppy, bombshell, girl-next-door, meets boho style.  Blair & Serena are the main focus of the melodrama, but over the years, the show has dressed up Taylor Momsen, Jessica Szhor, Hilary Duff, Katie Cassidy, Kelly Rutherford, & Michelle Trachtenberg in big name designer labels.  Below are some of the best looks that I wanted to share b/c you can’t have a “G”-themed blog without mentioning the show.  For more dirt behind the duds, check out In Style‘s Gossip Girl Profile.

Who’s your favorite Gossip Girl?  Do you follow the red carpet feud between Blake & Leighton?  If you could step into one of the character’s closets, whose closet would it be?  Do you think that the upper east side gals are dressing age-appropriately?

Gisele Bundchen is the highest paid model & has been since 2004.  How could you figure otherwise when you see the gorgeous Brazilian wife of Tom Brady looking super fabulous not just on, but off the runway as well?!  She’s got veteran supermodels like Naomi Campbell & Claudia Schiffer in her corner, & had posed for brands like Dolce & Gabbana, Missoni, & Balenciaga.

SIDENOTE: Do you remember the little scene in The Devil Wears Prada right before Anne Hathaway emerges from her Stanley Tucci-guided makeover?  Emily Blunt is complaining about Anne’s character Andy & then the ugly duckling comes in & there’s Gisele Bundchen in a leather pencil skirt & readers saying how good Andy looks!  The part always makes me laugh, although I’m hoping Gisele’s acting aspirations end there.

Most recently, Gisele attended Morgan Freeman’s AFI Achievement Award & stunned fashion critics in the ornate pewter Oscar de la Renta gown with a stunning hot pink belt (image on the far right).  The (relatively) new mom has got her body back in shape, making men & women everywhere drool!  The former Victoria’s Secret model works a runway & red carpet like no one else!  I can’t wait to see what else she has in store!

For more on Gisele’s style, check out STYLE.COM’s photo gallery of the model throughout her very enduring career in fashion. Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Our Top Picks for Maternity Styles!

I can’t even count on both hands how many women I know who are pregnant or have just popped out their bundle of joy.  While I can’t necessarily share in their journey through motherhood, I can however offer some awesome style suggestions if you’re an expectant mom-on-the-go & on a budget.  You only have nine months of growth, so making a huge investment in maternity clothes could hurt your bank account.  Don’t forget that the easiest way to get the most out of a maternity wardrobe is to swap stylish pieces with friends who no longer need them.  We can look to the baby boom in Hollywood for some inspiration, especially from famous moms like Gisele Bundchen, Ali Larter, Heidi Klum, & Christina Applegate, courtesy of In Style.

I’ve found a variety of cute pieces that can be mixed & matched for many different occasions during your months of pre-motherhood, which include versatile slim leg jeans, a delicate floral blouse, a loose-fitting cream trapeze cardigan, a darling blue belted wrap dress, a casual pair of cargo pants, & a black pleated dress as your go-to LBD for any special events that you may be attending.  If you’ve got basics like these that you like to wear, but want to help jazz them up, try out this braided sandal to keep your feet comfy this spring & summer, yet still chic in a metallic hue.  Or if you’re a real daredevil fashionista, get some neutral wedges for any outdoors affair this season.  During this time, accessories are the best way to show off your style, especially since (for the most part) they’re items that you already have.  For a solid color dress (like the LBD shown), try out a tribal necklace to bring out the wild yet sophisticated side of you.  Since the body is changing, add an elastic beaded bracelet, unless of course it’s too tight, but this pop of color looks so fun against natural colors & can help bright out other flattering shades in printed pieces.  Earrings are the best way to draw attention to your glowing face, so have fun with everything from red stud earrings to shell drop earrings for both casual & dressy days.  Happy Styling!
