The wait is over for the mystery plot of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie film, starring Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling! The plot, which see Barbie make a choice about entering the real world, looks like not only an homage to America’s favorite fashion doll, but a funny & intelligent take on the misconceptions about her too. The film, set for a July 21st theatrical release, is bound to garner lots of buzz & blow up this summer’s already fabulous Barbiecore trends.
One of the most highly-anticipated movies of 2023 just came one step closer to fruition. Barbie, starring Margot Robbie as the titular Mattel doll, has come to life, along with Ryan Gosling as Ken, in the Greta Gerwig-directed film that has the internet in a frenzy since those rollerblading videos first hit the web this summer. Now, at last, the first teaser trailer has been released & it’s looking to be everything we want in all of its glossy & escapist glory!
It’s everywhere & yet so far away still! Greta Gerwig‘s live-action Barbie film is currently in production & the internet is ablaze with images & commentary on the ultra neon on-screen duo of Barbie & Ken, played respectively by two-time Academy Award-nominees Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling. One may ask, could the movie get any blonder? However, you’re going to get more than meets the blinded-by-neon eye from this movie, especially with Gerwig at the helm… which is slated for a July 2023 release. I will be glued to the web with updates over the course of the next year, waiting with bated breath for the first major motion picture about the ultimate Style Darling herself: Barbie.

The film stars Woody Allen, Judy Davis, Penelope Cruz, Ellen Paige, Alec Baldwin, Jesse Eisenberg, Greta Gerwig, Roberto Benigni, & Alison Pill. I’m most excited about seeing Ms. Cruz back on the big screen under Allen’s direction, especially after her Oscar win for Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
