Long Island might be recovering from the big blizzard, Juno, but the web is buzzing about all of the stunning looks coming out of Paris for Couture Fashion Week. This includes Christian Dior‘s newest Spring 2015 Couture collection, led by Raf Simons & inspired by the music of one David Bowie. The collection is nothing short of gorgeous & versatile, mixing guipure lace with graphic prints, as well as classic Dior silhouettes & playful separates that recall Dior’s legacy of elegance with some added pop-rock edge. What’s also pretty amazing is that in every shot, just over the model’s left shoulder, Dior spokesmodel, Natalie Portman, can be spotted. Not only is it likely for her to be seen soon in one of the couture looks, but other famous Dior faces like this year’s Oscar nominee Marion Cotillard & the always stylish Jennifer Lawrence, both of whom are perfect for modeling these looks for upcoming red carpet events.
Jennifer Lawrencemight just be the most buzzed about celebrity this weekend, especially since the Oscars are tomorrow & she’s up for her second nomination as Best Actress (this time for Silver Linings Playbook). The undeniably charming & gorgeous starlet has been spotted all over the red carpet in designs by Dior, but now we can finally start talking about her long-awaited debut as the face of Miss Dior.
These recently released ads show the sometimes brunette actress clutching an assortment of quilted handbags, donning decadent jewels, & even gazing longingly behind a netted veil, all styled by Olivier Rizzo with looks from Raf Simons‘ Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection. There’s no doubt that the Willy Vanderperre-shot ads are elegant & chic, but I’d love to see the fun & youthful side of Lawrence’s personality shine through more in future ads. Perhaps something beachy & flirty for the summer? Who knows?
So I thought I’d share a little bit of high fashion with my readers. I’m all geared up for the upcoming red carpets for this year’s awards season, not to mention I’ve been scouring the web for the best deals on end-of-the-year markdowns to make this season a chic & affordable one for our wardrobes. However, let’s talk fashion & that means Dior. Raf Simons, the current creative director for the French brand, has debuted his first ad campaign for the fashion house, featuring chiffon floral, light layers, & everything elegance. Thanks to an article found on Styleite, I’m able to share these images for the line, which seems every bit feminine & minimalist as we could expect for a carefree spring. Also, there’s plenty of menswear inspiration in the sleek black separates, like what we’ve seen on Jennifer Lawrence recently. The spread features models Daria Strokous, Marie Piovesan, & Diane Conterato, with photos taken by Willy Vanderperre. Happy Styling!
