New ‘Optimistic Femininity’ from Kate Spade!


It’s a new year & a new Kate Spade with the newest ad campaign for the brand under Creative Director Nicola Glass. The stylish & bright brand embarks on their “optimistic femininity” by staying true to what’s classic & what works, with the message that women should stay true to their own story. Kate Spade has always embodied such an empowering vibe, but continues to do so with the help of Ozark‘s Julia Glass, If Beale Street Could Talk breakout star Kiki Layne, & Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink.

It’s hard not to smile when checking out these latest Kate Spade designs & the playful photographs taken by Tim Walker, who worked with the brand since the late Kate Spade was at the helm in 1999. The photos offer a fresh, vibrant, & young take on fashion, including the bold textiles, girlish jewelry, & polished accessories.

Ad Madness: Gwyneth Paltrow’s Marilyn Monroe Transformation for Max Factor!


Gwyneth Paltrow has done it all. She’s won an Academy Award. She’s a working mom & celebrated lifestyle guru (for goop.com). She’s a designer’s darling, always on the best dressed lists. She never fails to make us envious of her effortless glamour. And now… she is making headlines for her latest collaboration it beauty brand, Max Factor, in a new ad campaign, featuring the actress undergoing a high glamour Old Hollywood makeover, á la Marilyn Monroe with a modern twist.

This behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot, courtesy of Harper’s Bazaar UK, shares Gwyneth’s thoughts on blending her personal style with the brand’s signature pink lipstick.

Not only is she returning as the face of Ann Taylor, working on her debut capsule collection for the store, & has recently appeared as a recurring character on Glee, but she’s also continuing her role as spokesmodel for cosmetics giant, Almay. Courtesy of InStyle, I was able to find behind-the-scenes images of Kate in action, showing off her beautiful features with Almay’s Intense i-Color Shimmer Eyeshadow ($6.00) in Bold Nudes, which is available @Ulta. This color trio is also available in blue, hazel, & green shades to match with your eye color.

Ad Madness: Raf Simons’ Debut Spring Campaign For Dior!

So I thought I’d share a little bit of high fashion with my readers.  I’m all geared up for the upcoming red carpets for this year’s awards season, not to mention I’ve been scouring the web for the best deals on end-of-the-year markdowns to make this season a chic & affordable one for our wardrobes.  However, let’s talk fashion & that means DiorRaf Simons, the current creative director for the French brand, has debuted his first ad campaign for the fashion house, featuring chiffon floral, light layers, & everything elegance.  Thanks to an article found on Styleite, I’m able to share these images for the line, which seems every bit feminine & minimalist as we could expect for a carefree spring.  Also, there’s plenty of menswear inspiration in the sleek black separates, like what we’ve seen on Jennifer Lawrence recently. The spread features models Daria Strokous, Marie Piovesan, & Diane Conterato, with photos taken by Willy Vanderperre.  Happy Styling!

For Dolce & Gabbana‘s latest campaign, the actress is lending her sensual pout & old Hollywood beauty to the brand’s cosmetics line, promoting the Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation ($59.00) available @Saks Fifth Avenue.

Watch This Style / Ad Madness: La Vie Est Belle For Lancome & Julia Roberts!


While sifting through the knee-high pile of the September issues of my favorite magazines, I noticed that several (Self, Cosmopolitan, & Allure) have the ads for Lancome‘s latest fragrance La Vie Est Belle featuring Julia Roberts‘ infamous smile on their back covers.  The Oscar winner’s Mirror Mirror director, Tarsem Singh has, from behind the camera, brought out the best in Julia in a short film to go along with the stunning ad campaign.  Luckily, I was able to find the video on YouTube, along with a making-of video, which includes a brunette-tressed Julia in an elegant white gown breaking free from conventions & embracing a beautiful life, all with the help of the perfume.  Having graduated from the previously popular Tresor fragrance, La Vie Est Belle is set to hit stores in mid-August.
