Beauty Buys / Watch This Style: ABC’s Revenge Gets Its Own Fragrance, Double Infinity!

Revenge's Double Infinity fragrance

In the past, fashionable television shows have included Sex & the City, Gossip Girl, the long-running Mad Men series, & now we can currently add ABC’s primetime soap, Revenge, to the frothy & glossy mix, which often includes to-die-for runway looks brought to life by the show’s leading ladies: Emily VanCamp (Emily), Ashley Madekwe (Ashley), Madeleine Stowe (Victoria), & Christa B. Allen (Charlotte). However, now the show, which will premiere its third season in the fall, is debuting its own beauty line, including a fragrance called Double Infinity, paying homage to Emily’s infinity tattoo, which drives her throughout the story. InStyle shares that “The red bottle boasts a dramatic combination of jasmine, peony, & pink pepper, with citrus notes like grapefruit & orange blended into the mix,” which sounds delightful enough to try. It’s sold @Kohl’s, ranging in price from $39-$49, a perfect pre-stocking stuffer gift for the Revenge fan in your life.

Catch up with the series in the video below & share which episodes & characters are your favorites. Will you be checking out this new fragrance inspired by the show? Ad Madness: Amber Heard’s Latest Guess Campaign Shoot!

Amber Heard has been making headlines, especially after her role in last year’s The Rum Diary, opposite Johnny Depp, who is said to be Amber’s beau.  The actress, whose credits include Zombieland & Pineapple Express, is returning as a model for Guess, for their latest fragrance ads for Guess Girl.  In a recent article on FashionEtc, the scent is described as “With top notes of raspberry nectar, melon and bergamot mist, and a  drydown of Australian sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla, the fruity floral scent is a distinct departure from the brand’s most recent perfume, Seductive, aimed toward women in their later 20’s.

Clad in a pink sequin mini under a Marilyn Monroe-inspired button down shirt that’s tied at the waist, the ad seems to focus on the voluptuous beauties of Old Hollywood & Amber is a perfect match, looking to be the next Sharon Stone with every red carpet appearance. Guess Girl won’t be available as a stocking stuffer since it will make its debut in February, but you can count on the three sizes to be budget-friendly, going for 1 oz. for $40, 1.7 oz. for $52, & 3.4 oz. for $62, as well as a 6.7-oz. body cream for $28 at Guess.com.

Watch This Style: Part Two of Brad Pitt’s Chanel No. 5 Commercial!

It was only Monday when the full-length video commercial for Chanel No. 5 was revealed, starring a black & white, monotoned, monologue-toting Brad Pitt. Critics were underwhelmed by the recitation since he naturally doesn’t seem like a good fit for the brand, which had been previously endorsed by the elegant likes of Nicole Kidman & Keira Knightley.  However, a sequel video has been released, more in a dazzling commercial format, revealing a more suitable & feminine side to the fragrance’s portrayal.  Perhaps just sticking to Brad’s voice-over will make for a more effective campaign? What do you think of this second video? Are you a fan of the timeless perfume? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style / Ad Madness: La Vie Est Belle For Lancome & Julia Roberts!

While sifting through the knee-high pile of the September issues of my favorite magazines, I noticed that several (Self, Cosmopolitan, & Allure) have the ads for Lancome‘s latest fragrance La Vie Est Belle featuring Julia Roberts‘ infamous smile on their back covers.  The Oscar winner’s Mirror Mirror director, Tarsem Singh has, from behind the camera, brought out the best in Julia in a short film to go along with the stunning ad campaign.  Luckily, I was able to find the video on YouTube, along with a making-of video, which includes a brunette-tressed Julia in an elegant white gown breaking free from conventions & embracing a beautiful life, all with the help of the perfume.  Having graduated from the previously popular Tresor fragrance, La Vie Est Belle is set to hit stores in mid-August.

What do you think of Julia Roberts as a spokeswomen for Lancome? Do you like the videos? Would you try this scent? Of course print ads of celebs starring in campaigns for fragrances are always juicy to look at, especially when we’re talking about Savages star Blake Lively, however almost one month ago, I informed readers of Blake’s collaboration modeling for Gucci Premiere. While I was browsing through the web just recently, I found a short sneak peek at the Gossip Girl actress in motion in a clip from the film that supports the scent.  Under the direction of Nicolas Winding Refn, this golden girl is clad in sequins overlooking the Los Angeles skyline, as well as in a flowing navy gown in the desert.  Take a look at the commercial below & share with readers what you think about this campaign.
