Also, the actress recounted a 2021 essay written by her mother, Academy Award nominee, Uma Thurman, for the Washington Post, regarding her own experiences as a teen having an abortion. I’m so impressed by Maya’s wherewithal & forthcoming advocacy for this human rights violation, & speaking about her mother’s right to freedom of choice, on such a visible platform to educate & inspire young people–not just women–everywhere to take action to own their bodies.
Additionally, Maya attended the interview all smiles, even in its most sincere moments, but also in head-to-toe denim by Dior with a jacket (shop here), jeans (shop here), & closed toe gladiator flats (shop similar here), appearing relatable & comfortable with Jimmy Fallon, who stated that he held young Maya as a baby while spending time with the Thurman-Hawke family.
To recreate Maya’s look, you don’t need a Dior budget, especially when high quality denim from reliable retailers is available, along with a beige tee & options for footwear, inspired by Maya. Check out the on-sale suggestions below to recreate this casual, but chic look for any age:

Also, if you haven’t dove into season four of Stranger Things yet, here’s a trailer for the first seven episodes, which are currently available on Netflix:
However, TODAY volume two of the masterfully horrifying season four is available, including 2 longer episodes that close out the penultimate season. Check out the trailer below:
Zendaya could not get any more beautiful, yet here she is again, living it up in full-on glamour for the July 2022 issue of Vogue Italia, photographed by Elizaveta Porodina, wearing a couture jeweled Valentino minidress on the sultry cover with a statement Bulgari necklace & bold violet eyeshadow, which is very reminiscent of the beauty looks that characters on Euphoria wear. Am I right?
According to Vogue Italia‘s Instagram, Zendaya epitomizes the current generation of pioneering women, whom the actress credits black women of the past who have aided in her own success. The artistic images not only prove Zendaya’s influence on fashion, but also pop culture with her timeless style, refreshing intensity, & poised maturity. Vogue Italia shared Zendaya’s thoughtful reflections on her fame, “Sometimes I feel kind of silly being an actor, but then I remember the stories that I’m telling and the reasons behind them. Especially as of recent with Euphoria, I had so many people reach out and share their experiences of connecting with it, in the sense of loss or addiction or grief or mental illness and their struggles with that.”
More looks in the shoot were styled by Law Roach, featuring pieces from Del Core, Paco Rabanne, The Attico, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, & more Bulgari jewels. However, the multi-faceted performer doesn’t get fazed by the designer duds & sparkle, commenting, “For quite some time, I have been able to maintain a minimum of anonymity so that I can do the same things I used to do, living a fairly normal life,” adding about her fans that “they’re really understanding that I’m human, even the hardcore ones and they want me to be happy and I genuinely feel that from them.”
It’s everywhere & yet so far away still! Greta Gerwig‘s live-action Barbie film is currently in production & the internet is ablaze with images & commentary on the ultra neon on-screen duo of Barbie & Ken, played respectively by two-time Academy Award-nominees Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling. One may ask, could the movie get any blonder? However, you’re going to get more than meets the blinded-by-neon eye from this movie, especially with Gerwig at the helm… which is slated for a July 2023 release. I will be glued to the web with updates over the course of the next year, waiting with bated breath for the first major motion picture about the ultimate Style Darling herself: Barbie.
In the mean time, throw on some shades, play that 90s Aqua song, & scroll through the slideshow & gallery below for all that’s been photographed so far of the Hollywood icons portraying iconic characters:

This weekend’s Daytime Emmy Awards’ red carpet presented splashes of color, along with strong, dramatic looks. Most notably, pink was polished on actress turned TV personality, Drew Barrymore in a bold magenta Valentino gown, along with soap opera veteran Susan Lucci in a tiered Adam Lippes gown and General Hospital actress Laura Wright wore a pink Halston jumpsuit. Also, there were patterns a-plenty, including on the night’s big winner, Mishael Morgan, the first black winner of the Daytime Emmy for lead drama actress for her work on The Young and the Restless, wearing a black & red flower-patterned Oliver Tolentino design. Also, host and winner Tamron Hall mixed goth with metallics in her gown and Allison Lanier, from The Young and the Restless, hit the red carpet in brown and white animal print. However, General Hospital star Kelly Thiebaud sparkled in bronze in a Magda Butrym design (that singer Victoria Monet just wore to the BET Awards), but both ladies looked amazing! Check out the slideshow & gallery below:
If you haven’t watched season 1 of Only Murders in the Building on Hulu, stop reading & go do it–all 10 episodes!
However, if you’re excited for season 2 to drop TODAY, just like I am, you’ll be extra psyched to see the show’s star, Selena Gomez, in all of her silver sparkly glory at the season 2 premiere in Los Angeles yesterday. With a cut-out & super high slit gown by Michael Kors, plus a beachy/glam ponytail, shimmering hoop earrings by Effy Jewelry (shop similar here), & makeup, no doubt, from her Rare Beauty collection, this is Selena’s best red carpet look EVER, IMO. She’s poised, polished, & perfectly glistening with such a modern take on a classic Hollywood aesthetic. The range that she displays on the red carpet, when performing on stage, & on the show as the sarcastic Mable Mora is admirable & evocative, cementing her status as a major player in the entertainment industry who is only just getting started (with over 100 acting credits to her name & 9 albums to her name)!
Have a look at Selena’s stunning red carpet appearance, which is just the beginning of what will be a fashionable press tour for the show & her upcoming Rare Beauty launches:
To catch up on what happened last season, watch the season 1 trailer (not a recap!) below:
If you haven’t already watched it on repeat, watch the hi-jinx about to ensue on the residents (& outcasts) of the Arconia building:
I can’t wait to laugh, cry, & wonder about how this new season will unfold, especially with celebrity guest stars, such as comedian Amy Schumer and Selena’s good friend / supermodel Cara Delevingne joining in on the fun.
Last night’s BET Awards honored the achievements of black musicians from the past year, but were not without fanfare & glamour on the red carpet, using the awards platform for both style statements and vital political messages. Some of the red carpet highlights include Lizzowearing a glittery navy Gucci gown, along with Taraji P. Henson in a striking, silver Tom Ford design, Chloe Bailey stunning in a Nicholas Jebran swirly look, Cynthia Erivo turning heads in a multicolor Louis Vuitton ensemble, Janelle Monae‘s transparent Roberto Cavalli gown, Lena Waithe in a pastel Casablanca suit, Halle Bailey‘s plunging Monot dress, Paula Patton in a magenta mini, & Marsai Martin in a custom Dolce & Gabbana flapper-inspired dress.
Check out the gallery & slideshow below to catch up on who sparkles, who took a risk, & who took their style game to a whole new level!

Hollywood was all aglow tonight with not only the stars of Marvel’s latest Thor: Love & Thunder, but the premiere dazzled with red carpet looks from the film’s stylish stars. This includes leading lady Natalie Portman who sparkled in rose gold Celine Couture mini dress, the always stunning Tessa Thompson who was sleek in a cut-out Armani Prive column gown, badass Karen Gillan who played with florals in an Oscar de la Renta mini, Kat Dennings wore a flirty black mini dress by Alessandra Rich, Elsa Pataky stepped out in a plunging Dundas gown, Xochitl Gomez struck a pose in a red Monot, Eternals actress Lia McHugh wore a floral ruffle PatBo gown, & Jaimie Alexander‘s purple Marc Jacobs number made a statement. Check out the gallery & slideshow below!
The shoot includes gorgeous looks featuring pieces from legendary & daring names, such as: Alaia, Schiaparelli Haute Couture, Harris Reed & Roker, Tiffany & Co., Junya Watanabe, Lorraine Schwartz, Malakai, Vivienne H. Lake, Eddie Borgo, & Commando. The stunning images were inspired by “a fashion fantasia spun from the tropes of club life during the last century’s final quarter [featuring] mirror balls, light boxes, [and] headdresses,” Enninful claims, which only makes sense for the iconic powerhouse that Beyoncé is, 6 solo records later & after winning 28 Grammy Awards!
Happy belated 2020 Style Darlings! I’m happy to make a return (albeit a brief one) to my blog posts, especially as I look forward to a stylish & confident new year. The semester is about to start & there is always a lot to do at home, which is why my regular posts are not as regular as I’d like. I encourage all of my readers to follow me on Instagram @styledarlingdaily to keep up with what I’m wearing, what I’m shopping for, what I’m loving, & who’s wearing what…which brings me to today’s post about who is wearing suits & why that’s so special.
I’m not much of suit sporter myself. I’ve never been a fan of what has always felt like a restrictive topper like a blazer, which is why I’m pro-cardigan on the daily, but I’m pretty inspired by the trend of playful & colorful suiting that I’ve seen on some of my favorite & most stylish celebrities. Wearing a head-to-toe pattern or monochromatic palette is both classic & edgy for any number of occasions, including figuring out what to wear to work! Some recent noteworthy looks include Golden Globe-winner Awkwafina (for her role in The Farewell) in a hot pink suit by Cinq à Sept (shop the blazer & pants) with a black crop top, Aussie Cate Blanchett‘s polka dot perfection in a Haider Ackermann suit with blue Dorateymur boots, Priyanka Chopra Jonas in a pretty pink silk suit with contrasting raspberry, a spring-ready Rose Byrne (star of Like a Boss) in a pastel suit by Christian Wijnants with white pumps, the always delightful Salma Hayek in all-over plaid by Gucci (shop the vest), & “Lose You To Love Me” singer Selena Gomez‘s cognac suit by Gauge81 paired with a cashmere blouse by Victor Glemaud & Yuul Yie boots.
Akwafina, Cate Blanchett, Priyanka Chopra, Rose Byrne, Salma Hayek, & Selena Gomez in suits.
Of course, some looks are bolder than others, but why not try something new without breaking the bank? Some of my favorite places to shop for matching separates include regular discounts & sales on new arrivals & wardrobe staples.
Jessica Alba has always been one of my favorite celebrities to watch out for on the red carpet because several elements of her personal style mirror my own. She loves feminine, classic pieces, never straying too far into an architectural or modern aesthetic, but still appearing current & trendy. While the actress / entrepreneur has been promoting her new series L.A.’s Finest (also starring the always exquisite Gabrielle Union), as well as her brand The Honest Company, Jessica has been all about platforms. I couldn’t help but notice the chunky shoe under many of her dresses during her promotional tour, a choice that I would not personally make, but something I love to look at with her red carpet fashion, which has a very 70s & 90s glam vibe right now.
Below Jessica goes peachy in a Giambattista Valli Spring 2019 dress with beige patent leather platforms & an Alaia cropped shirt with a striped skirt in Jimmy Choo platforms.
Also, at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, Jessica wore an orange Silvia Tcherassi belted dress with a Mulberry bag & satin platforms. For her Honest Beauty Meet & Greet, Jessica looks heavenly in a Self Portrait midi dress with rust suede Salvatore Ferragamo platforms. For the budget shopper looking for trend pieces without breaking the bank, check out some of these affordable & stylish platforms out in stores & online now.
Victoria Beckham is always flawless. This isn’t news, but I just had to start there. The Spice Girl-turned-designer recently stepped out in what starts to look like a minimalist summer look with a white tee & black cuffed jeans, accessorized with classic pieces like a sleek black envelope clutch, pendant necklace, a chain link gold watch, & Celine sunglasses (shop here)… until you see the heels! They’re BalenciagaSquare Knife neon pumps (shop here) that make a wild style statement, but it all works seamlessly, especially on Victoria!
Of course, this look would’ve worked with pink, orange, red, or really, any color heel. She could’ve surprised us all with neon ballet flats, which would have been equally successful & exciting to post about. I’m always finding new ways to mix up my favorite wardrobe items in my collection, playing with different colors & patterns to pop, which is why I love Victoria’s inspiration so much.
However, we all don’t have the kind of budget needed to recreate this high-end, luxury look… but have no fear! Because so many of the pieces are staples, they’re not hard to find without breaking the bank! Even imitation-inspired heels are available to peruse (in several other colors too) to bring Victoria’s posh style back to life!
It’s a new year & a new Kate Spade with the newest ad campaign for the brand under Creative Director Nicola Glass. The stylish & bright brand embarks on their “optimistic femininity” by staying true to what’s classic & what works, with the message that women should stay true to their own story. Kate Spade has always embodied such an empowering vibe, but continues to do so with the help of Ozark‘s Julia Glass, If Beale Street Could Talk breakout star Kiki Layne, & Stranger Things actress Sadie Sink.
It’s hard not to smile when checking out these latest Kate Spade designs & the playful photographs taken by Tim Walker, who worked with the brand since the late Kate Spade was at the helm in 1999. The photos offer a fresh, vibrant, & young take on fashion, including the bold textiles, girlish jewelry, & polished accessories.
What do you think of the photo shoot? Are you a fan of Kate Spade designs? What brands are your favorite to follow? For more designer-inspired posts, click here, here, here, & here! Happy Styling!
Sometimes when I can’t make up my mind of how I want to style my outfit in terms of jewelry, pearls are an easy go-to for instantly adding some much-needed glam & sophistication to an otherwise casual look. The holidays are the perfect time of year to consider pearls, & not just for jewelry must-haves.Take inspiration from the stylish likes of Angelina Jolie, Brie Larson, Lupita Nyong’o, Reese Witherspoon, Rihanna, & Zooey Deschanel, all donning pearls in earring, bracelet, or necklace form.
One of my favorite shopping spots, New York & Company, has some stylish & affordable pearly finds to wear for your next holiday party, date night, girls’ night out, or even sipping on some hot cocoa while wrapping presents.
However you choose to wear your pearls, own them. Pearls are timeless & go with any outfit.I love glamming up a casual Sunday with a pair of cluster studs, for example. The pearl resurgence that we saw last holiday season on clothing isn’t going away either. How do you like to wear pearls? Do you have a favorite pearl accessory that you love to wear? For more jewelry inspired posts, click here, here, here, & here. Happy Styling!
Whenever I’m seeking out style inspiration from celebrities (on the red carpet or their street style), my mind immediately races with ideas on how readers (& myself) can make a look their (affordable) own. Style isn’t this inaccessible thing anymore since there are so many reasonably price retailers that look to high fashion sources for their own inspiration too. Hence my latest post featuring actress / entrepreneur Jessica Alba dressing down a gold sparkly blouse with a velvet blazer by Frame (shop here), frayed wide leg jeans, black suede booties, & a gold buckle wide belt. A blazer & jeans are two staple items that we all have in our wardrobe, which is why this look is so easy to recreate without breaking the bank.
To build this look, here are two essential pieces, which can also be mixed & matched with other items throughout the holiday season & during the year.
Which celebs do you turn to for street style & holiday inspiration? How do you get the most use out of your favorite & most sparkly holiday pieces? For more celebrity style posts, click here, here, here, & here. Happy Styling!
Statement necklaces never go out of style. They instantly elevate any outfit & reinvent a look’s accompanying pieces.I love mixing & matching statement necklaces with solid tops or printed dresses, often playing on color combinations to brighten up an ensemble, while also framing the face &, of course, facing the day like the true Style Darling!
Also, statement necklaces aren’t limited to special occasions or the holiday season. Add that extra element of sparkle creates interest in any look, as well as gets the most worth out of your accessories.
Remember, statement necklaces aren’t just for the red carpet either! Now that it’s starting to get chilly out, you’re breaking out the layers to bundle up & that shouldn’t exclude jewelry. Reese Witherspoon never fails to deliver on the red carpet, with her street style, & for any press event she attends. I love her feminine & edgy style, often a chic blend of preppy meets glam girl. The Oscar-winning actress & Draper James founder recently made an appearance in The Hamptons while promoting her new film, Home Again, wearing a gorgeous black & metallic one-shoulder Isabel Marant dress (shop here) (from the designer’s Fall 2017 collection) with ruffled Christian Louboutin strappy sandals (shop here). The look is picture perfect, which is why I’m featuring it for my latest Darling of the Day post. The ensemble is a definite style win, but the cost of the dress & shoes alone will run you back by the thousands.
It was hard to achieve a near-identical look-alike outfit, but I loved the inspiration behind the trendy one-shoulder & ruffled ankle strap heels. In featuring pieces inspired by Reese’s look, it’s always my pleasure to share how to recreate something similar for shoppers of any size. I love a great print & a black & white color combination is classic for every woman!
I. Love. Emma. Stone. My nose is glued to the screen whenever Emma Stone is promoting a film & has countless red carpet premieres to attend. She’s not only an iconic fashion chameleon, but her all-around girl-next-door goofball vibes makes me feel like we really could be best friends. I’m obsessed with her sense of style & will almost always vote her best dressed, no matter the competition. So, when it came to seeking out what she’s been up to, I was super excited that she was Marie Claire’s September cover star. Emma’s currently promoting her new film, Battle of the Sexes, all about tennis-legend Billie Jean King in 1973 & co-starring Steve Carrell, Emma’s Crazy, Stupid Love on-screen dad, who plays her rival, Bobby Riggs.
The interview for Marie Claire is conducted by funny lady Sarah Silverman, who has a girl crush on Emma that reads quite equal to mine, where Emma discusses the power each of our voices have in times of controversy & political uprising, but also the challenges that the Oscar-winning actress (for of course, La La Land) faced when becoming Billie Jean King for the new film.
The photo shoot (led by Greg Kadel) includes Emma wearing some gorgeous pieces from Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Bulgari, to name a few!
Battle of the Sexes premieres on September 22nd, just in time to kick of awards season & you can be sure that I’ll be on the lookout for Emma’s highly anticipated press tour fashion!
Are you going to see Emma Stone’s new film? Do you like the styling of her Marie Claire cover shoot? Which stars do you love to see on magazines? Happy Styling!
It’s that time of the summer when fall fashions are not just hitting stores, but also magazines too! September issues of fashion mags are perhaps the most highly acclaimed, ad-heavy, & competitive in capturing beautiful images of today’s most famous style icons. Vogue is celebrating their 125th anniversary as Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence graces the cover with photos from a slew of creative visionaries including artist John Currin, as well as photographers Annie Leibovitz, Inez & Vinoodh, & Bruce Weber.
During the interview, Jennifer discusses her love of reality television, the consequences of fame & judgment, as well as her upcoming projects. This includes her new film, Mother!, directed by Darren Aronofsky (& her current beau), as well as films working with Steven Spielberg & that rumored collaboration with Amy Schumer.
Which September issue are you most excited to see? Which stars are your favorites for magazine covers? Are you going to see her new film Mother!? Happy Styling!
The wave of celebrity fashion collaborations is still going strong & now that the best of fall fashion is hitting stores, there’s so much more glam on my style wish list, including pieces from Gabrielle Union’s collection for New York & Company.
The line is a blend of street style chic & high fashion with plenty of sleek dresses & modern separates that you can mix & match with your current favorite wardrobe staples. Shop the gorgeous & classic styles, ranging from size 0-20 & priced between $46.95 – $139.95, but if you sign up for store coupons, you can definitely get some great discounts on these must-have trends!
Which looks are you most excited to shop? What do you think of the sleek collection? How much do you invest in celebrity / designer collaborations? What fall trends are you interested in this season? Happy Styling!
I have to say, I’m not much of a blazer gal. I have a few & sometimes break them out for pictures, but cardigans are usually more my style. I tend to find that the structure & ungiving material of most jackets creates an uncomfortable & heavy feel all day long. However, I’m starting to see a big trend with blazers for this fall, which has got me rethinking my blazer game. A double-breasted ponte blazer is clearly the way to go for all looks professional & street wear, as seen recently on stylish celebrities like singer Jennifer Lopez, actress Olivia Munn, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, blogger Olivia Palermo, & America’s sweetheart herself, Jennifer Aniston.
Now you don’t have to spend the kind of money that these celebs do (on brands like Balmain) for a chic, all-purpose & neutral menswear-inspired piece. The double-breasted ponte blazer @dressbarn is not only a new fall arrival, but it is available for shoppers in misses, plus, & petites sizes, from S-3X.
The big gold button trend isn’t going anywhere either to help accentuate your fall style. I’m seeing it everywhere, on sailor trousers & skirts, to blouses & dresses too! This particular stretchy jacket is great to mix with your favorite denim bottoms, a sleek pencil skirt, or leggings to create a chic athleisure look.
What’s your blazer philosophy? Do you like ponte pieces for the fall? How would you style a double-breasted blazer? Which celebrities do you think have the best street style? Happy Styling!
Contrary to popular style belief, sometimes the most fashionable looks aren’t necessarily the fanciest. I’m of the mindset that style should exist on the daily & even on my most casual of days off, I take care of myself in the best way I know how—comfortably! Still, on those days, I have things to do like see my family or prepare a dinner date night with my boyfriend, so even if I give my face a break & go makeup-free, I like to put together an easy breezy outfit (comfy top & jeans perhaps) with unexpected twists (usually in the form of accessories).
Actress Rachel Bilson is showing her casual style with a combination of no-fuss neutrals with denim, heather gray, tan, black & silver during a sunny afternoon in Beverly Hills. Typically, one might not think these colors work together, but the Nashville / former Hart of Dixie / The O.C. it-girl knows how to style even the simplest seeming looks, especially with Old Navy’s $40 Rockstar skinny jeans! Earlier in the week, I featured Blake Lively mixing her high-low look with the same jeans in a darker wash!
Where do you like to shop for you favorite go-to jeans? Are you a fan of Old Navy’s Rockstar skinny denim? Which celebrity style appeals most to you? Summer is a great time for fashion, especially when it comes to scoping out what our favorite celebrities are wearing in their street style on vacation & for blockbuster movie premieres on the red carpet. It’s August & we’re basking in the post-Met Gala glow of the finest in fashion, preparing for Fashion Week in September, all for the harried & sparkly zen that is keeping up with awards season. One name among all the frenzy that is constantly impressing in the world of fashion is designer Zac Posen.
In the newest trailer for the fashion documentary House of Z, fashion lovers catch a glimpse of Posen’s career triumphs, devastating struggles, & return to fame. There’s nothing I love more than a fashion doc, which is why I’m super excited to learn more about Posen’s creative process & journey. The Project Runway judge / creative director of Brooks Brothers is an unstoppable force whose story teaches viewers that if you have a dream, you must go on & continue creating.
In the video below during an interview with BUILD Series, Posen discusses the documentary’s development, his familial strain, his favorite red carpet moments, & how the film served as therapy when revisiting his past troubles in the industry.
House of Z premieres on Vogue.com on September 6th. I know I’ll be watching! What is your favorite Zac Posen red carpet moment? Are you going to watch the fashion documentary? How do you express your creativity? Happy Styling!
This summer is a trendy season, where tops feature all sorts of the surprises like cold shoulders, off the shoulders, cut-outs, ruffles, pleats, & keyholes. The same goes for jeans with distressed details & that ripped effect. Trends come & go, however, a classic button down & a pair of skinny jeans will stand the test of time. Former Gossip Girl actress Blake Lively is proof of just that in her latest look while taking a stroll on Long Island with family this week. What’s especially inspiring about this outfit is that Blake combines the best of hi-low fashion in a pair of Old Navy‘s Rockstar skinny jeans with designer pieces from Stuart Weitzman, Fendi, Frame, & Jennifer Meyer.
The jeans are easy to find in order to recreate this look for a Style Darling on a budget. However, I found pieces that recall the essence of Blake’s effortless style with embellished details & sophisticated accessories, all of which are perfect for a summer day off.
So, it’s definitely been a minute since my last Darling of the Day post (hello 07/18/2016 with Gwyneth Paltrow!). Trends are always changing—I’m not so crazy about all this 90s-inspiration returning. Also, life is just busy & there’s so much to talk about. However, I just recently came across this image of Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence (whose new movie Mother! looks terrifying) who was out & about in New York City this summer wearing the most elegant & casual of outfits that anyone can pull off. I knew I had to share the styling details, especially since so many of these pieces probably already reside in our wardrobes. What makes this look so special is Jennifer’s uber chic Elsa Peretti knotted necklace that completely elevates the whole ensemble from casual to genius. I’m always saying that accessories have the power to transform a look & here’s the proof with one simple gold necklace.
The ingredients for Jennifer’s look are easy to put together: white tank, black skinny jeans, & a gold knotted, tassel necklace. Here are three sources to recreate this outfit for the budget-minded shopper of any size because you shouldn’t have to sacrifice your entire income for your style.
In addition, Jennifer’s outfit gets some help from classic tortoise sunglasses, a minimalist black crossbody bag, & platform wedges so she can live her most stylish & best A-list life.
