All About Platforms with Jessica Alba!

Jessica Alba has always been one of my favorite celebrities to watch out for on the red carpet because several elements of her personal style mirror my own. She loves feminine, classic pieces, never straying too far into an architectural or modern aesthetic, but still appearing current & trendy. While the actress / entrepreneur has been promoting her new series L.A.’s Finest (also starring the always exquisite Gabrielle Union), as well as her brand The Honest Company, Jessica has been all about platforms. I couldn’t help but notice the chunky shoe under many of her dresses during her promotional tour, a choice that I would not personally make, but something I love to look at with her red carpet fashion, which has a very 70s & 90s glam vibe right now.

Below Jessica goes peachy in a Giambattista Valli Spring 2019 dress with beige patent leather platforms & an Alaia cropped shirt with a striped skirt in Jimmy Choo platforms.

Also, at the Monte Carlo TV Festival, Jessica wore an orange Silvia Tcherassi belted dress with a Mulberry bag & satin platforms. For her Honest Beauty Meet & Greet, Jessica looks heavenly in a Self Portrait midi dress with rust suede Salvatore Ferragamo platforms. Show Me The Shoes: One Stop Shoe Shop For Day, Work, & Cocktail @Payless!

It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of the styles @Payless, which is why I continue to share the best finds from the store for all seasons. Not to mention, while celebrating the holidays, you can hone your style a little better without breaking any budget with a special 20% off coupon code (82028) to ease any shopping stress & it expires on 12/19.

I’ve selected styles that vary for occasions, including day, work, & evening. I believe in a versatile shoe, while getting the most for your money, which is why I’m starting off with the dexflex by Dexter Kappy toe pump ($16.49) in bronze, the most inexpensive of my quintet here.  I’ve been getting into the less popular metallics like copper, rose gold, & bronze, loving the way they offset some of this season’s trendiest colors.  Not only are they perfect for a pencil skirt & blouse for work, but will also contrast any powersuit.

For some menswear inspiration, I love the Dexter Kylie wedge pump ($22.99) in grey-black plaid, which changes up a traditional wedge to a work-ready investment. Of course the pattern is specific, but you won’t do wrong with a lace-detail sweater with jeans for day or an embellished top & trumpet skirt for the office.

Payless shoes

For the vintage lover out there, I love the latest from Project Runway winner Christian Siriano‘s Hadley t-strap pump ($34.99) in burgundy, which is the go-to color for fall & winter! This screams for some corduroy, tweed, or textured tights- always cute for a sophisticated night out with the girls or if you’re headed to the board room.

We can’t talk about the holidays without bringing up any upcoming parties. If you’re not afraid of heights, I recommend the Silvia Tcherassi Lyon platform pump ($29.99) in tan, but it’s also sold in a very regal navy with the same luxe gold details.  Lastly, for the party girl & flirt, the Fioni Kipsie stitch peep toe heel ($29.99) is the perfect touch for a polka dot frock on a date.  There’s a special bow detail right at the toe, which is always a favorite of mine!

Which shoes are your favorite? Have you set aside a spending budget for footwear this season? Do you like bargain shopping when it comes to shoes? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Designer Collections from Payless!

Payless is my go-to spot for shoes!  I’m crazy about their loyal brands like Montego Bay Club & Fioni, but what’s super special is the availability of designer collections like Lela Rose, Christian Siriano, Silvia Tcherassi, & Isabel Toledo, just to name a few.

I’ve selected a few of my favorite styles!  However, let’s start by designer… Christian Siriano is a Project Runway winner who has expanded his budding empire from clothes to cosmetics & to shoes, here at the every-woman level.  The topaz twisted sandal in brown, which is also available in black & turquoise, for $32.99, marked down from $44.99.  These are stylish options with a flowy summer dress or shorts romper.  Also the Lanai peep toe pumps have a gorgeous mixture of texture & bling, also available in black & turquoise.  They can be worn at work, with jeans, or cocktail dress & cost $59.99.

Next, Silvia Tcherassi is a Colombian designer who takes risks, as seen with the Genova elastic strap sandal in red (there’s also a black option) for $69.99.  I see them & I think of a 70s-inspired jumpsuit or Hawaiian halter maxi dress.  Also, Silvia Tcherassi plays it down a little with a classic glitter espadrilles for $39.99, also made in brown.

My favorite luxury designer brand from Payless is Lela Rose.  If Charlotte York went shoe shopping in Payless, she’d wear a pair of Lela Rose shoes!  However, the d’orsay ankle strap flats in green & also come in a navy print.  If you’re looking for heels, check out the Emiliana peep toe pumps in tan & black, for $59.99 each.  The bow detail & texture of the shoe are super feminine & not to mention, the 4-inch heel create the look of a longer legline.  My absolute favorite pair of all is the Isidro ankle strap wedge for $64.99.  I’ve seen them featured in a number of magazines this season, along with on one of my favorite fashion blogs, Kendi Everyday.

While some of the prices are on the high side, don’t forget that Payless has frequent offers on BOGO 50% off, as well as coupon offers for your birthday to get additional discounts. To check out more, take a click on over the precious posts here, here, & here! Happy Styling!
