Watch This Style: The Trailer To ‘Diana,’ Starring Naomi Watts!

Diana movie poster

September is just around the corner, which means that it’s time to start thinking about awards season in Hollywood. One of the films at the top of my must-see list is Diana, starring Naomi Watts at the People’s Princess, Diana of Wales. The movies follows the last two years of her life, surrounded by the paparazzi, trying to keep her romance a secret, & make a difference with her human rights activism.

Naomi Watts in Diana

A second, fuller trailer recently hit the web, featuring a more in-depth look at the biopic, sure to add another slew of accolade to the film’s star. I’ve loved reading about & seeing early released images of the royal style icon who met an early, untimely end.

The film is due out in the U.K. on September 20th, directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, also starring Naveen Andrews & Douglas Hodge. Check out the trailer below to see Diana brought back to life on the big screen! Basics For A Bargain: Leather Has Never Looked Better, Inspired By Mandy Moore, Sandra Bullock, Heidi Klum, & More!

Leather really had never looked better! Each summer I’m surprised to see many looks worn by celebrities with leather, as well as dresses that have recently hit the runway. Of course, most of these runway looks are for the upcoming fall / resort seasons, but playing the game of fashion always means that you’re looking ahead with your wardrobe. For example, here we have leather dresses that offer texture, femininity, elegance, & modernism from Barbara Bui Pre-Fall 2013, Alice + Olivia Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear, Tibi Pre-Fall 2013, & 10 Crosby by Derek Lam Pre-Fall 2013.

Alice + Olivia, Tibi, Barbara Bui, 10 Crosby by Derek Lam.This also makes me think of recent red carpet appearances by some of my favorite celebrities who’ve worn leather dresses, including Naomi Watts in a leather dress by Alexander McQueen with jewelry by Jennifer Meyer at the Los Angeles premiere of Ray Donovan. Also, my girl crush, Mandy Moore, attended a Helmut Newton event in a leather LBD with gold jewelry & sexy ankle-strap heels. Byzantium actress Gemma Arterton showed off her shape in a curve-hugging letaher dress with 3/4 sleeves, black pointy toe pumps, & a metallic clutch at the film’s screening in London. Scandal star Kerry Washington walks the red carpet at an ABC event in a red Marc by Marc Jacobs leather sheath dress with black & gold accessories, including House of Lavande studs.

Naomi Watts, Mandy Moore, Gemma Arterton, & Kerry Washington.Shopping for leather, or faux leather in this case, dresses is tricky sometimes b/c you always want to make sure that it fits you properly & doesn’t require an abundance of care or cleaning. I found these chic options that are both timeless & edgy to mix & match with accessories like pointy toe pumps, platform sandals, a metallic clutch, or drop earrings. First, I selected the BB Dakota Kira perforated dress ($68.00) from ShopBop, which definitely plays up the lasercut trend with playful peek-a-boo holes. Also, I found the Sanctuary Clothing faux leather shift dress ($55.65) from Dillard’s. It’s especailly flattering with strategic colorblocked panels.

leather dressesMy third pick is from Forever 21, the studded faux leather dress ($27.80) is the most affordable, & also offers plenty of styling possibilities with a boyfriend blazer, cropped bolero, metallic belt, or suede knee boots. For a change of color, the Anne Klein faux leather dress ($42.99) from 6PM brings a gritty edge to any office look, especially if paired with strappy sandals or printed pumps.

When it comes to leather, we’ve also seen a great deal of separates, especially in the form of skirts & leggings, which always cause a stir on the runway. The mixture of the tough material in sophisticated silhouettes makes for a memorable show, especially with skirts of varying lengths for a date night, the office, or an instant update to other basics. I found trendy leather separates in collections from SUNO Resort 2014, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear, Altuzarra Fall 2013 Ready-To-Wear, & Michael Kors Pre-Fall 2013.

Suno, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani, Altuzarra, & Michael Kors.Celebrities continue to once again mirror the runways when on the street or red carpet with leather pieces to accent this look. Sandra Bullock heated up the premiere of The Heat in an affordable leather pencil skirt from ASOS with a button-down blouse & strappy leather sandals. Rashida Jones was all smiles in a striped top with a cobalt blue leather mini skirt, which she accessorized with a statement pendant, colorful clutch, & towering platform sandals. Project Runway judge / supermodel Heidi Klum looks every bit the style icon in a head-to-toe midnight blue look, including a zippered pencil skirt, blouse, pumps, & snakeskin bag. Lastly, the always effortless Zoe Saldana attends a Chime for Change event in a Gucci floral blouse with leather leggings, jewlery by Repossi, & strappy sandals.

Sandra Bullock, Rashida Jones, Heidi Klum, & Zoe Saldana. As for wearing leather bottoms, you have a chic choice of skirts or leggings. Of course, there are shorts out there, as well as cropped trousers, but here I’m focusing on recreating skirts & leggings as seen by the celebrities above. This starts with the Rhyme Los Angeles perforated vegan leather skirt ($46.99) from Piperlime, which not only serves the environment, but also offers an upgrade to your professional office look. Also, for a pop of color, I love the Glamorous PU patent faux leather mini skirt ($42.43) in wine from ASOS, which adds a futuristic vibe to any button-down shirt, studded tank, or scoop neck pullover.

leather separatesFor a flirtier look, BonTon‘s Blu Pepper lasercut faux leather skirt ($47.20) will instantly make a silk blouse & fishnets look like you’ve just stepped off the runways of Paris. Lastly, these faux leather zip leggings ($13.80) from Forever 21 are perfect for pairing with a printed tunic top, knit oversized sweater, & sequin mini dress.

Would you wear leather this summer? Which is your favorite leather look? Do you experiment with leather in different colors? This isn’t the first time I’ve featured leather looks on Style Darling, so if you’d like to read more to catch all the trends, check out previous posts including inspiration from Jessica Chastain & Lucy Hale, red carpet looks from Julianne Hough & Zoe Kravitz, & leather pant looks on Gwyneth Paltrow & Fergie! Top 10 Celeb Sightings: Menswear, Black & White, & Cute Cocktail Frocks, Featuring Jessica Alba, Allison Williams, & More!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The stars have been hitting the latest in Paris Fashion Week, while also making the rounds at various press events looking nothing short of fabulous. The latest trend for in-between-seasons is black & white pieces, whether it’s a one-piece colorblocked look, or timeless, menswear-inspired separates. Also, even though awards season has ended, the ladies of the red carpet are sure to be seen in the most photo-worthy frocks. Some of my favorite looks from the last two weeks includes Allison Williams in a Prabal Gurung silk set, Jessica Alba‘s Valentino jumpsuit, & Naomi Watts‘ little white dress look by Louis Vuitton.

Addition highlights include Les Miserables star Amanda Seyfried in leather & a pencil skirt, Revenge actress / fashion blogger Ashley Madekwe in a dress by Versus, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s age-defying leather leggings & Nicholas Kirkwood booties, Jessica Chastain in black & white, Lily Collins in a gold & black printed minidress, Fashion Star mentor Nicole Richie in her 80s-inspired separates, & Stacy Keibler celebrating the launch of Joe Fresh for JC Penney in a slim-leg suit.

The 2013 Oscars are just starting & there’s so much to talk about from tonight’s red carpet, including the anticipation behind the performances from the cast of Les Miserables, as well as the tribute to the James Bond series. Some of my favorites so far include Naomi Watts‘ high fashion look from Armani Prive, Reese Witherspoon‘s classic old Hollywood Louis Vuitton cobalt gown, Zoe Saldana‘s two-tone fishtail gown by Alexis Mabille, & Sandra Bullock‘s lace-detailed Elie Saab gown.

Other notable hits include Jessica Chastain (in Giorgio Armani), Nicole Kidman (in L’Wren Scott), Jennifer Garner (in Gucci), Kerry Washington (in Miu Miu), & Charlize Theron (in Dior Haute Couture). Not to mention that I predicted Jennifer Lawrence‘s Dior Haute Couture gown as an Oscar pick in my recent post, which is nothing short of fabulous when it hit the red carpet!

Red Carpet Review: The 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Featuring Amanda Seyfried, Marion Cotillard, Jennifer Garner, & More!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

In this latest Red Carpet Review post, we’re one step closer to rounding out this year’s awards season with the red carpet looks from tonight’s 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. The ceremony is currently airing & there’s so much movie news to report, however some of the hottest & most-talked-about celebrities have made a splash in couture, following the runway trends, including black gowns (like what we saw at the Golden Globes) on Anne Hathaway (in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture), Elisabeth Moss (in Dolce & Gabbana), Naya Rivera (in Donna Karan), Michelle Dockery (in Chado Ralph Rucci), Tina Fey (in Oscar de la Renta), Jaimie Alexander (in Marc Bouwer) & Kelly Osbourne (in Jenny Packham).

Also, side parts for hair are big, as seen on Jessica Chastain (in Alexander McQueen), Katrina Bowden (in Badgley Mischka), & Naomi Watts (in Marchesa). Colors of the night that popped were pretty pinks & purples on Lea Michele (in Valentino), Nina Dobrev (in Elie Saab), Freida Pinto (in Roland Mouret), & Sally Field (in J. Mendel).

There was a classic & regal combination of blue & navy hues hit the red carpet with Amanda Seyfried (in Zac Posen), Jordin Sparks, Nicole Kidman (in Vivienne Westwood), Jennifer Lawrence (in Christian Dior Haute Couture), Giuliana Rancic (in Max Azria Atelier), & Edie Flaco (in Chagoury).

Lastly, colorblocking & mixed tones in black & white were a hit, featured on Claire Danes (in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci), January Jones (in Prabal Gurung), Julianna Margulies, & Julianne Moore (in Chanel Haute Couture).

Which looks were your favorites? Are you watching the show tonight? Red Carpet Review / Runway Rundown: Style Darling’s Top 20 Best Oscar-Worthy Gown Predictions!

We’re less than a month away from the 2013 Academy Awards & the SAG Awards are this weekend! The speculation behind the results inside those envelopes & what the nominees are going to wear have been bouncing around all over the web & for the first time, I’m going to share my fashion predictions, based off the Pre-Fall 2013, Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, Spring 2013 Haute Couture, & Resort 2013 collection runways. Of course, Oscar-nominated celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams & Naomi Watts are subject to one-of-a-kind custom-made haute couture gowns, but it’s been a lot of fun to click around & find the most gorgeous gowns that wowed on the runway. In addition to the nominees who are celebrating their achievements in film, possible presenters like Rachel Weisz, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner & more will be turning heads on the red carpet.

Surely there will be lots of glitz & glamour, but predictions of trends are hard to tell. There was so much going on at this year’s Golden Globes, including black, black & gold, white, pink, long sleeves, cut-outs, high slits, & nude illusions. Starting off is a gold lamé & embellished gown from Michael Kors Resort 2013 Collection, which was recently featured in a Runway Rundown post. From Carlos Miele‘s Resort 2013 Collection comes this beautiful embellished sweetheart gown with an animal print under-lining. Some might call the white & black-leather accented Emilio Pucci dress from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection is too safe for the Oscars, but I think it’s a modern & refreshing take on a white gown.

Michael Kors, Carlos Miele, Emilio Pucci, Monique Lhuillier, & Jenny Packham.

For the risk-taking Style Darling, I can see the metallic long-sleeved gown from Monique Lhuillier‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection making an entrance on the red carpet. I picked this tangerine Jenny Packham Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection gown b/c of its unexpected color, but on the right skin-tone, it will certainly set some trends on the red carpet for the rest of the year.

Next, we have a floral-embroidered belted gown by Temperley London, which was featured in the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection. This has a very classic, Zooey Deschanel look to it, which is why I loved including it! Badgley Mischka is a name synonymous with red carpets & perhaps we’ll see this all-over embellished metallic gown from their Pre-Fall 2013 Collection on one of the front-running Oscar nominees. One of my favorite designers forever & always is Marchesa & I wasn’t surprised to see so many red carpet candidates in their Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection, including this sari-inspired sheer-overlay blue & gold confection.

Temperley London, Badgley Mischka, Marchesa, Collette Dinnigan, & Roberto Cavalli.

I love the feminine softness from the short-sleeved Collette Dinnigan gown from the Resort 2013 Collection. The coral / fuchsia hue is perfect for an ingénue like the ever-changing Dakota Fanning or the retro Krysten Ritter. Roberto Cavalli‘s black sequined & lace overlay corset-structured gown is a stunning choice for a more dramatic look on the red carpet & it’s from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection.

Designs by Alexandre Vauthier made a style statement at the Golden Globes since both supermodel Heidi Klum & Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery both donned looks, but I picked this leg-baring halter gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. J. Mendel‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection was a dreamy mixture of texture, detail, flowy fabrics, & strong silhouettes, including this lace-accented spaghetti strap gown with off-the-shoulder tiers. Also, Giambattista Valli‘s white & gold ball gown took my breath away from its Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection & would certainly wow fashion critics if worn on Isla Fisher, Julianne Hough, or Kerry Washington.

Alexandre Vauthier, J. Mendel, & Giambattista Valli.

Valentino, Christian Dior, & Elie Saab.

There ought to be room on any red carpet for a Valentino red gown, like this strapless & effortless gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. Also, Christian Dior‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection featured the pink puffy mermaid ball gown. In addition, someone like Diane Kruger or Zoe Saldana can wear an floral-embellished, dramatic gown like this from Elie Saab‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection.

After Lucy Liu‘s splash at the Globes in Carolina Herrera, I knew I had to look further into her Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which included this gorgeous black & white graphic print gown, perfect for fans of the label including Renee Zellweger, Emmy Rossum, or Olivia Wilde.  Next, from Oscar de la Renta‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, this aqua tiered dream of a gown is borderline bridesmaid, but the color is just so pretty & it reminds me of the Romona Keveza ball gown that Kaley Cuoco wore at last year’s SAG Awards.

Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, & Jason Wu.

You can’t have a look at the best from the runway without talking about American designer, Zac Posen, & his Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which is a dramatic statement that will change the way black gowns appear on the red carpet. Lastly, a daring look for the Oscars comes from Jason Wu‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection & perhaps a young starlet like Emma Watson would wear this will some extra lining to fill the skirt since the ceremony is so formal.

Which designers are you hoping to see on the red carpet? Which gown is your favorite? Which nominees are you rooting for during this year’s Oscars? Happy Styling!

Now that the Golden Globes have been analyzed to death, we can look forward to the stars celebrating awards season in between shows (we’ve yet to see what’s going to happen on the red carpets from the SAG Awards & Oscars!). However, a big trend at the Globes was the color black & it seems it has returned to the red carpet & the celebrities are loving it! I’ve always been a fan of a classic LBD, but here we see all sorts of black making a major statement.  This includes my favorite looks from Krysten Ritter in a peek-a-boo dress & then Krysten Ritter again in a Dior jacket with a pencil skirt & Brian Atwood shoes.  Also, other favorites include Ashley Greene‘s leather peplum look, Scarlett Johansson‘s Dolce & Gabbana outfit with Irene Neuwirth earrings, & Miranda Kerr‘s continuously enviable street style, accessorized by Givenchy & Barbara Bui.

I’m also sharing looks by Anne Hathaway in a striped dress ensemble with a Stella McCartney faux leather bag, Elisabeth Moss‘ leather look with leopard pumps, Emmy Rossum in a sweet polka dot dress by Theia, Naomi Watts‘ appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in a Roland Mouret LBD with Rupert Sanderson sandals, & Renee Zellweger at a Hugo Boss event in Berlin in a halter dress with Christian Louboutin spiked pumps.

Runway Rundown: Zac Posen’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

After the amazing red carpet from this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards, I surfed the web like a madwoman trying to find the latest from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collections & was so won over by Naomi Watts‘ regal & elegant appearance at the awards show, I knew Zac Posen, the newest judge for the upcoming season of Project Runway, was going to be featured in my next Runway Rundown post. The line pays homage to a retro 1940s style, with satin, leather, tweed, & lace overlay details in rich colors like eggplant, scarlett, oxblood, & some of the most luxe black that I’ve ever seen. The label’s effortlessly classic silhouettes & timeless structures are modeled by the always stunning Crystal Renn. Not to mention that the entire collection is sure to attract fans of the brand including Claire Danes, Lea Michele, Reese Witherspoon, Coco Rocha, & Kerry Washington!

Which looks are your favorites? Are you predicting any of these looks for the upcoming SAG Awards or Oscars? For more featured runway posts, check out galleries including Burberry Prorsum, Bottega Veneta, Erin Fetherston, & Gucci. Happy Styling!

Mendel), Debra Messing (in Donna Karan Atelier), Sofia Vergara (in a floor-length sequin gown), Eva Longoria (in Pucci), & Salma Hayek (in Gucci).

Lastly, softer nearly colorless colors had their place with Anne Hathaway (in Chanel), Lea Michele (in Elie Saab), Amy Adams (in Marchesa), Amanda Seyfried (in Givenchy), Megan Fox (in Dolce & Gabbana), & Hayden Panettiere (in Roberto Cavalli)!

Last night’s red carpet for the 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, movies like Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, & Lincoln were celebrated along with their very well-dressed cast. The leading ladies of the film hit the red carpet, showing off their assets.  There was plenty of sheer paneling, giving off the sexy illusion of skin, as seen on Jennifer Lawrence (in Oscar de la Renta) Helen Hunt (in Philip Armstrong), Amanda Seyfried (in Marios Schwab).  Also, bold colors were a big trend with Leslie Mann (in Honor Spring ’13), Jessica Chastain (in Prada), & Sally Field.  Not to mention floral & sequin embellishments which were made all the more fabulous by Marion Cotillard (in Zuhair Murad), Elle Fanning (in Chanel), & Nina Dobrev (in Monique Lhuillier). Check out the complete gallery & share with us who you think was the best dressed of the night!

While I didn’t get a chance to see the ceremony last night, I was pleased to learn that red carpet favorites like Lea Michele in Elie Saab, Taylor Swift in Ralph Lauren, Naomi Watts in Alexander McQueen, & Julianne Hough in Tony Ward Couture didn’t disappoint when they hit the red carpet.  Also, I was pleased to find out who was wearing which gown / dress & ultimately, the winners chosen by the people.  Winners from the ceremony included Katy Perry (who wore a demure Valentino dress), Jennifer Lawrence (in black sheer sparkling Valentino), Jennifer Aniston (in a black leather Christian Dior frock with Tom Ford shoes) & Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo (in Lanvin). For a complete list of the night’s highlights, check out this link to Entertainment Weekly!

Top 10 Celeb Sightings: Ringing In 2013 With Gorgeous Gowns, Frilly Frocks, & Sleek Silhouettes, Featuring Naomi Watts, Emma Stone, Fergie, & More!

The red carpet styles of 2013 are rising by the day & we’re in the thick of awards season, so the best is yet to come.  In my first official Top 10 Celeb Sightings post of the new year, I could just show only Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, & Jessica Chastain since they’ve been doing so much press with their latest films (Gangster Squad, Django Unchained, & Zero Dark Thirty / Mama, respectively).  However, I was so excited to see Emma Stone‘s ravishing red Lanvin dress & the color is just amazing against her alabaster skin & pretty blonde locks.  Not to mention that Kerry Washington is stepping it up for every outing, especially in her checkered Louis Vuitton dress, which I featured in a Runway Rundown post when the Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection hit the catwalk.  Also, Jessica Chastain‘s pretty lace frock by Oscar de la Renta is a dream dress for the Golden Globe nominee.

However, those are only three of the ten radiant looks worn by the most photographed celebs of right now, including Amanda Seyfried‘s studded Bottega Veneta dress, Emily Blunt‘s sleek nude Emilio Pucci number, Fergie‘s chartreuse Oliver Tolentino gown on New Year’s Eve, Helen Mirren showing off her shape in a stunning Escada design, Kate Bosworth getting on board the sheer trend in an LBD by Emilio Pucci, Naomi Watts‘ effortless blue Roland Mouret draped gown, & the always gorgeous Rachel Weisz in a sophisticated floral printed dress by Bottega Veneta.

Which looks are your favorites? Who do you think is the best dressed celebrity of 2013 so far? Are you looking forward to this weekend’s Golden Globes red carpet? Awards season is officially in full swing with the announcement of the Screen Actors Guild & Critics Choice nominations. All of my favorite celebs have been hitting the red carpet, including the stunning stars of Les Miserables to promote their best work.  While actress Anne Hathaway had some sort of revealing wardrobe malfunction in the (pictured above) black silky Tom Ford number, she still looked every bit the major movie star, along with Amanda Seyfried in a beguiling Alexander McQueen gown.  Other favorites include Freida Pinto‘s golden Ralph Lauren Collection look & Naomi Watts floral gown by Zac Posen.

Also, be sure to check out my other picks for the Top 10 Celeb Sightings, including Cate Blanchett in peplum dress by Peter Pilotto, Elizabeth BanksRachel Zoe Collection LBD, Emma Stone‘s pastel colorblock ensemble by Project Runway finalist Daniel Vosovic, Jessica Alba‘s leather-accented Narciso Rodriguez dress, Jessica Chastain‘s Elie Saab confection, & Zoe Saldana‘s sexy Preen sheath.

Red Carpet Review: Menswear Inspiration from Jennifer Aniston, Lady Gaga, & Evan Rachel Wood!

Menswear inspiration has made quite a comeback over the last few years & it looks like it’s not going away.  We have some amazing celebrity inspiration on how to recreate these looks, embracing the androgynous trend in the most chic & elegant way.  Evan Rachel Wood made a big splash this year in a Dolce & Gabbana suit with Salvatore Ferragamo heels at the Venice Film Festival & also a white Yves Saint Laurent suit with Neil Lane jewelry at the Ides of March premiere.  Fashionista Alexa Chung showed off some color-blocking & layering with a long-sleeved sweater, a button-down shirt, with gray skinny jeans & a red quilted Chanel crossbody bags.

Supermodel Kate Moss wore all-over gray in a slouchy top & trousers with cap toe heels for a Rimmel London event.  Naomi Watts sported her own interpretation of the vest & pants look in this all-white Stella McCartney design.  Jennifer Aniston shows a sultry black version in Dolce & Gabbana for the New York premiere of Five, with a peek-a-boo bra.  In a surprise turn of fashion, Lady Gaga showed up at New York City’s Beacon Theatre in this mustard Viktor & Rolf suit with a mini tube bra & plastic square sunglasses.

To shop for some menswear pieces like blazers, vests, trousers, & button down shirts, check out New York & Company, Express, Ann Taylor LOFT, & H&M.  For accessories to complete your look like belts, necklaces, bags, & shoes, check out some of my favorite stores like Payless, DSW, ALDO, & Steve Madden.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Demi Moore is the Newest Face of Ann Taylor!

Ann Taylor has a new face & that’s none other than the sexy working mother of three, Demi Moore! The actress is no stranger to modeling, having also been the face of Versace a few years back.  However, now Mrs. Kutcher is filling in the very fashionable shoes of the likes of Heidi Klum, Naomi Watts, Milla Jovovich, & most recently, Katie Holmes.

In a recent feature for the new ad campaign, In Style quotes Demi as saying, “The new Ann Taylor is for modern women who want to take on the world in style.” This is the perfect phrase that captures a very polished, professional, & feminine brand that mixes ladylike details with menswear-inspiration for women of the office, working mothers, & Style Darlings everywhere.  Some of the designs at their regular price cost a bit much for me, but if you wait for the end of the season (LIKE NOW), you can find awesome deals on sale items, like sporty striped tees, sequined tanks, & delicate necklaces.

If you’re loving this brand, be sure to click on over to a Darling of the Day post, which features Sophia Bush.  Also, fans of LOFT, Ann Taylor’s sister store, include Hilary Swank & Jayma Mays! Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review: 2011 SAG Awards (PART ONE)!

Last night’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards were a red carpet dream come true, filled with florals, belted looks, sparkles, brights, & enough black & white to go around.  Oscar de la Renta was the most worn designer & the stars were frosted in names like Fred Leighton, Neil Lane, Chopard, Lorraine Schwartz, & Swarovski.  Scroll your mouse over each image to see who’s wearing which designers.

My favorite of the night was an unexpected ballerina-inspired pale pink Monique Lhuillier ruffled number that Angie Harmon wore, although some may say that its beauty was Oscar-worthy & too overdressed for this event. With that, here we have the ladies wearing blush & pink showing off their femininity & boldness.  We saw a splash of pink at last month’s Golden Globe awards with Claire Danes, Lea Michele, & Megan Fox.

We can see that Jennifer Lawrence‘s whirlwind award’s season is only getting better after her ruffled Louis Vuitton pick.  I can’t wait to see what she’ll choose to wear at the Oscars- she’s nominated for her gritty performance in Winter’s Bone.

We saw Christina Hendricks & January Jones showing off their love of red, but here we have four looks (including one demure burnt orange, a little warmer than Emma Stone’s coral) proving that no gorgeous color or design can clash with the red carpet at this event if you’re confident.  Tina Fey‘s red Oscar de la Renta was a most unexpected choice for the usually conservative comedienne, but I’m sure critics will love her bold choice, especially after last year’s stunner. For more on Oscar de la Renta’s Spring 2011 collection, click here.

Other nominees lit up the red carpet with thier elegant choices, embracing a deep crimson, magenta red, & a pretty pumpkin.  These rich colors make for incredible photographs & remind us of how truly stunning the female form can look in a column-inspired gown.  Whather cinched at the waist or knotted for a Grecian-style, these dresses made each starlet look like a tall glass of glamour!

Everybody was dying to see what glowing mother-to-be Natalie Portman was going to wear & she turned this white Azzaro number into a ridiculously chic maternity gown that would put red carpet moms-to-be like Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, & Naomi Watts to shame. White was definitely on-trend with Amy Adams & a creamy Rosario Dawson presented her own interpretation as well! Winona Ryder‘s Alberta Ferretti creation reminded me so much of a modern-day version of this famous Marilyn Monroe dress.

It isn’t a true awards show without some sparkle.  Bejeweled looks have been a staple for the red carpet in recent years, as we’ve seen on Sandra Bullock, Claire Danes, & Cameron Diaz.  Adding glistening touches to dresses with color was a popular trend too!  It must’ve been winner & Oscar-bound actress Melissa Leo of The Fighter who stole the sparkle show with a fitted golden number & a plunging neckline.

While other sparkles were subtle & elegant, none could quiet compare, but we have to give it up to Eva Longoria & Jayma Mays for their stylish efforts.  We could look forward to some of these fabulous ladies at the upcoming Oscar ceremony- that’s for sure!

Glee stars Lea Michele (keeping with her Globes Oscar de la Renta choice) & Naya Ramirez were on hand to lend some youthful glow to this parade of glitters.  We can see the diversity in a plunging neckline, a modest one-shoulder, spaghetti straps, & a short-sleeved dress in a hint of periwinkle.

Well, there’s really only so much fashion a girl can handle, but I’m excited to report that tomorrow’s post will contain the dark, black, & purple dresses (like Dianna Agron), as well as the risk takers of the night (including one of my favorites- Claire Danes!).  Any questions, comments, or suggestions are always welcome!  Happy Styling!
