Fabulous In 4 Ways: A Bold Statement Necklace For Under $12!

Although the holidays may be over, that doesn’t mean it’s time to put away your best & most sparkly accessories & that includes statement necklaces. I’m pretty new to the bauble club, but I’m having fun experimenting with different ways to wear the bold piece of jewelry, which is what inspired my latest post for Fabulous in 4 Ways. I’m excited to explore the variety of style choices one can make with a statement necklace, especially when headed out for a day off of lunch with the girls, to the office for a big meeting, a cocktail party on a date, or a weekend getaway trip.

Coco Rocha, Katy Perry, Emma Roberts, Olivia Palermo, Molly Sims, & Jamie King in statement necklaces.Statement necklaces have been a prominent go-to accessory for celebrities over the years, including supermodel Coco Rocha, pop star Katy Perry in Amrapali, actress Emma Roberts, style icon Olivia Palermo, Molly Sims in a floral necklace, & Hart of Dixie‘s Jamie King.

To start this project, I choose the statement necklace ($11.98) in black & gold from Target, which has just enough glitz & glam to dress up several combinations of basics with prints & rich textures.

Target - statement necklace $11.98.

For daytime, I love the ease of this look & how just one piece instantly adds some punch against the backdrop of casual separates. Also, the necklace is successful over a basic blouse & colorblock look for a fashionable office environment, playing up your personality, yet still remaining professional.

Fabulous in 4 Ways - Day & Work

SHOP day look: sweater ($24.80) @Forever 21, jeans ($19.99) @Zara, & ballet flats ($44.10) @Bon Ton. SHOP work look: top ($25.00) @Topshop, skirt ($34.11) @ASOS, & shoes ($32.99) @Charlotte Russe.

When headed to a cocktail party, a statement necklace is just the piece to elevate a classic LBD, sheath, or lace frock. Lastly, when taking a road trip for the weekend, a statement necklace is perfectly interchangeable when considering how to efficiently pack to get the most out of your wardrobe.

Fabulous in 4 Ways - Cocktail & Weekend

Red Carpet Review: 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards Featuring Naomi Watts, Jennifer Lawrence, Rebel Wilson, & More!

Last night’s red carpet for the 18th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards, movies like Argo, Silver Linings Playbook, Zero Dark Thirty, & Lincoln were celebrated along with their very well-dressed cast. The leading ladies of the film hit the red carpet, showing off their assets.  There was plenty of sheer paneling, giving off the sexy illusion of skin, as seen on Jennifer Lawrence (in Oscar de la Renta) Helen Hunt (in Philip Armstrong), Amanda Seyfried (in Marios Schwab).  Also, bold colors were a big trend with Leslie Mann (in Honor Spring ’13), Jessica Chastain (in Prada), & Sally Field.  Not to mention floral & sequin embellishments which were made all the more fabulous by Marion Cotillard (in Zuhair Murad), Elle Fanning (in Chanel), & Nina Dobrev (in Monique Lhuillier). Check out the complete gallery & share with us who you think was the best dressed of the night!

Red Carpet Review: The Lovely Ladies From Last Night’s Premiere Of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two!’

I’m not a particular fan of The Twilight Saga, but I think last night’s red carpet for the franchise’s final installment, Breaking Dawn Part Two, is what’s most important to pay attention to when it comes to this film.  All of you Twi-hards are welcomed to seek another website to get your K-Stew / R-Patz gossip on.  The film’s stars were out in full force, & Kristen Stewart‘s headling-making nude Zuhair Murad gown has been all over the web today.  While there’s no doubt that the gown is very beautiful, my vote for best dressed belongs to Ashley Greene in a custom made blush gown by Donna Karan Atelier & Dakota Fanning who debuted her brunette locks with a gorgeous jewel-toned gown by Elie Saab.

Click through the gallery, featuring the film’s leading ladies, as well as some celebrity fans who showed up to share their support for the vampire drama, including Molly Sims & Julianne Hough.  Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: A Look at Rachel Zoe’s First Line!

I don’t normally follow runway looks, or entire collections of big name designers, for they are just so expensive, but I’ve grown to have a fashion crush on Rachel Zoe (bah-nanas!) & when I saw InStyle‘s scoop on her most recent fashion endeavors, I drooled the unthinkable drool!

While Ms. Zoe’s looks aren’t available until the fall, I love the blend of 70’s starlet, modern minimalism, casual menswear, dainty ruffles, & regal faux furs.  It’s both flirty & whimsical, it’s totally Rachel’s style!  I haven’t read yet where her looks will be sold, but I’ve learned that they run anywhere from $200 – $700.  Kind of beyond my budget, but it doesn’t hurt to look at the professional celebri-stylist’s newest project as inspiration for our own wardrobes.  She’s so successful & is such an inspiration, who adores anything Chanel, Marc Jacobs, & even endorses H&M!

I don’t know how the first-time soon-to-be-mom does it, while still styling celebrities for their red carpet events.  As we’ve seen on her show, especially during the craziness that ensues for awards season (like right now the Oscars are just two weeks away & I’d love to see how all the fabulous history-making fashion is coming to life!), some of her most famous red carpet & often best dressed list topping  clients include actresses Eva Mendes, Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, Liv Tyler, Jennifer Garner, Cameron Diaz, Demi Moore, & Molly Sims.  How can you go wrong with a fashionable lineup like that?

Check out The Rachel Zoe Project on Bravo, of which I can’t wait to see Season 4!  Not to mention on her official website, you can sign up for a daily email of  The Zoe Report & get her advice in the Ask Rachel section!  She even offers some behind-the-scenes footage from her latest collection’s arrival!

Also, she lends her voice to Piperlime sharing her favorites from the retailer’s vast selections! And you can follow her up-to-the-minute tweets on Twitter! Happy Styling!
