07/31/2023 Darling of the Day: America Ferrera’s Stripes & Leather Look for Less!

While everyone in the world is talking about the Barbie movie, it’s not only Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling‘s performances that are being praised, but America Ferrera‘s empowering role as Gloria as well. During the film’s promotional tour earlier this month, while the cast journeyed from continent to continent, the Golden Globe & Emmy-winning actress took to Instagram in London in a chic & polished striped J.Crew button-down (that was customized with cropping), a leather midi pencil skirt by Matches, white stiletto pumps (shop similar here), & gold hammered earrings (shop similar here). However, for any Style Darling of any size, I was inspired to build this look from affordable, inclusive pieces!

The total ensemble isn’t hard to put together with classic wardrobe staples: a button-down shirt, pencil skirt, gold earrings, & heels; however, the stripe details, a faux leather texture, white contrast, & gold shine elevate the entire look. Last night, Hollywood was a glow with gray… as in Netflix’s The Gray Man, directed by The Russo Brothers, premiered with all the stars gracing the red carpet in their very best glam for one of the hottest movies of the summer. The film reunites Cuban actress Ana de Armas with her Knives Out costar, Chris Evans, in a casual chic navy suit, and Bladerunner 2049 lead, Ryan Gosling, Ken-ning it up in a mint & white, answering questions about the film’s stunts & his preparation for the upcoming Barbie movie with Margot Robbie.

However, Ana stole the spotlight in a shimmering Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 gown, especially with all the buzz surrounding her upcoming portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in the film adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates fictional biography Blonde, directed by Andrew Dominik. After a breakout last two years in Knives Out and the recent 007 film, No Time to Die, Ana is one to watch on screen & on the red carpet. Every angle of this gown is beautiful & her poise, starpower, & style are breathtaking.

As Marvel fans breathlessly await the world premiere of Thor: Love & Thunder, the film’s female stars, Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, & Pom Klementieff, hit the blue carpet to promote the action movie in the UK, along with director Taika Waititi, his girlfriend, singer, Rita Ora, & athlete Serena Williams, all of whom killed it when it comes to top shelf style.

However, it’s Natalie’s red mini Dior dress & flower crown, along with Tessa’s golden fringe dress by Oscar de la Renta that were not only the talk of London, but also currently the internet! Additionally, Rita’s shimmery & dazzling Elie Saab gown was a showstopper, as well as Pom’s edgy, biker-inspired Alexander McQueen frock.

Jennifer Lopez is the Prettiest in the Prettiest Pink Poof Dress!

Jennifer Lopez can’t do just one thing & I’m so glad for it. For her newest film, Second Act, she not only stars in & produced it, but also sings the power anthem “Limitless” (penned by Sia). She also directed the yet-to-be released music video (also starring her daughter Emme) & has taken the fashion world by storm once again at the New York City premiere of the film. She wore a breathtaking pink Giambattista Valli high low tulle gown (from the brand’s Fall 2018 Couture runway collection) with a train that rivals anyone else in gown train history (Priyanka Chopra… Princess Diana…) styled with silver accessories including a Judith Leiber clutch & Jimmy Choo platforms, as well as jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. The play on volume & length in such a bold statement color only makes the dress more amazing to gawk at.

The ethereal design floated down the Fall 2018 runway & has now made history. Perhaps all those sparkly naked dresses are out & voluminous tulle dresses are in?

Red Carpet Review: Anne Hathaway & Amanda Seyfried Dazzle While Promoting ‘Les Miserables’!

Ever since news hit the web that there was going to be a full-on movie musical remake of the legendary novel-turned-Broadway play, Les Miserables, I’ve been following its every move of production, including casting news & sneak peeks at the stars singing their hearts on.  Two of the film’s leading ladies, Anne Hathaway & Amanda Seyfried, have been dazzling on the red carpet, which I, naturally, needed to feature b/c there was just too much great fashion not to!

Let’s start with Amanda whose belted Alexander McQueen column gown was an ethereal turn for the blue-eyed blonde, accessorized with mirrored Rupert Sanderson evening sandals. The January In Style cover girl stole the show in a plunging two-toned Balenciaga gown with towering satin platforms for the film’s London premiere.  Amanda returned to pastels in a soft Marios Schwab dress with patent leather peep toes by Rupert Sanderson.  Also, back in October, as the buzz surrounding the film was just starting, Amanda appeared at the Hollywood Film Awards in a ravishing red bustier dress by Prabal Gurung with earrings by Dana Rebecca Designs & platform Jimmy Choo shoes.  Amanda Seyfried & Anne Hathaway

I’ve been talking about Miss Anne quite a lot this year, ever since she debuted her short ‘do back in July, hit the red carpet in Valentino, & shined on the covers of Vogue & Glamour! The newlywed continued to channel Audrey Hepburn in a sleek Victoria Beckham LBD with black pumps. While talking up the film in Tokyo, she donned a Antonio Berardi keyhole dress with open toe patent leather shoes.  She took a risk in a relaxed midnight column gown a New York screening of Les Mis wearing a moonstone cocktail ring by Graziela.  Most recently, she made quite the movie star entrance while showing off her back in an all-over beaded Givenchy gown in London. 

There’s no doubt that this is Anne’s year on the red carpet, but I know I can’t take my eyes off of Amanda, whose style seems to get better, fresher, & more feminine at every glance.  Whose red carpet style do you like better? Red Carpet Review: Snow White & The Huntsman’s Charlize Theron Has A Very Stylish Spring!

One of the biggest movies this summer is Snow White & The Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, & Academy Award winner Charlize Theron.  The beautiful Charlize plays the Evil Queen, however the spokesmodel for Dior has been making waves this season with her red carpet appearances & casual street style caught by paparazzi.  I’ve put together a gallery, embracing the South African native’s impeccable style. Of course she’s been at it for years & is a pro donning designer duds. Which of these looks is your favorite?
