The Cannes Film Festival is halfway over, but glamour is in full force as more stars hit the red carpet in chic daywear, elegant gowns, & sultry designs. Some of my current favorites include the ongoing Chanel love-fest on Brie Larson, but also the utterly timeless drama of Julia Garner’s green Gucci for the premiere of Asteroid City, as well as everything on model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. There’s so much holiday talk in the air, but it’s also another season! All the best & most highly-anticipated films are about to hit theaters for awards season, which means that some of today’s most in-demand actresses are making jaw-dropping red carpet appearances, speaking at press events, & doing the talk show rounds, inspiring viewers with their class, intelligence, talent, & style. Aside from the excitement of seeing who is wearing what, the fashion in these films is definitely worth talking about. I was recently talking to some writer friends about how I haven’t been very enthusiastic about movies lately, especially since there’s so much amazing television on these days, but my mind is changed. I’m gushing over the visual candy that is La La Land, the retro elegance in Rules Don’t Apply & Jackie, as well as the high fashion stakes set in Miss Sloane & Nocturnal Animals (Directed by acclaimed designer Tom Ford).
The long-awaited 87th Oscars ceremony is under way & the web is buzzing over the glamorous red carpet, featuring a slew of gorgeous gowns from nominated actresses & fabulous looks from presenters & performers. One of the biggest trends of the night was sparkle & color, as well as some surprises from favorite A-listers who have taken some risks & stayed true to their consistently celebrated style.
Who wore your favorite look of the night? Which celebrity did you think surprised or disappointed? What were the hottest trends on the red carpet that you loved most? For more Red Carpet Reviewposts from this awards season, check out complete galleries from the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Golden Globe Awards, & Critics Choice Awards! Happy Styling!
Long Island might be recovering from the big blizzard, Juno, but the web is buzzing about all of the stunning looks coming out of Paris for Couture Fashion Week. This includes Christian Dior‘s newest Spring 2015 Couture collection, led by Raf Simons & inspired by the music of one David Bowie. The collection is nothing short of gorgeous & versatile, mixing guipure lace with graphic prints, as well as classic Dior silhouettes & playful separates that recall Dior’s legacy of elegance with some added pop-rock edge. What’s also pretty amazing is that in every shot, just over the model’s left shoulder, Dior spokesmodel, Natalie Portman, can be spotted. Not only is it likely for her to be seen soon in one of the couture looks, but other famous Dior faces like this year’s Oscar nominee Marion Cotillard & the always stylish Jennifer Lawrence, both of whom are perfect for modeling these looks for upcoming red carpet events.
In the latest Resort 2014 Collection, there are plenty of sleek, feminine details in the line, including nipped waistlines, pops of colorblocking, modern menswear cuts, & flowy hemlines. The hefty 58-image gallery below shares the entire collection, & some of my favorite pieces include the separates which can dress up a pair of jeans, skinny pants, or leather shorts. Also, I love the idea of jackets too, which make for perfect toppers to any vacation, office, date night, & casual look.
Marion Cotillardis certainly one of the most beautiful women in the world & Diorsnagged up the French Oscar-winner as its spokesmodel for several seasons now. The actress returns as the face of Lady Diorbags, standing alongside the colorful collection with old Hollywood & vintage-inspired pieces from the Dior line. Her smoky eyes & dark berry lip hue are perfect for translating the brand’s effortlessly chic style, with photographs by Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
While trying to fight off a cold & organize my best writing for a future as a grad student, I was sidelined by the latest news circulating around the fashion world, that Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard is designing a very special Lady Dior handbag. As a spokesmodel for the brand for several years now, the French beauty has taken her flair for fashion & forte as a creative force in music to new heights by lending her vision to Dior in creating a classic, yet modern bag.
In this video, discovered on my favorite site In Style, you can take a look at Marion as she brainstorms ideas for the bag with a behind-the-scenes peak at her fabulous celebrity lifestyle. What do you think of her latest foray as designer? Happy Styling!
The holidays are in full swing now & I can’t think of a better way to start celebrating the festivities than to share the latest celebrity images for Top 10 Celeb Sightings. There are some really amazing movies coming out, including Les Miserables, Hitchcock, & Rust & Bone, as well as some upcoming television premieres like Girls, which means that there’s lots to keep an eye out for on Style Darling. Some of my favorites include Scarlett Johansson during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in Giambattista Valli, Miranda Kerr‘s high-slit gown, Allison Williams in a stunning silver Naeem Khan gown, & Katy Perry‘s prettiest Dolce & Gabbana look.
We’re barely two weeks into November, but already the 2012 covers for the hottest magazines have hit the web & I have a jam-packed post here, featuring ten must-have & must-see issues from here in the United States, as well as abroad. This includes a much-talked-about Britney Spears on the cover of Lucky (airbrushed much?), Cameron Diaz repeating the Chanel cocktail dress that Emma Stone wore back in June for Elle UK, Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence in Balenciaga for Elle, Dakota Fanning for InStyle UK, Australian actress Isla Fisher sharing her fitness tips for Women’s Health, Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard for Harper’s Bazaar UK, singer Nicole Scherzinger for Marie Claire UK, Selena Gomez going glam for Glamour, Taylor Swift breaking away from her good girl look for Cosmopolitan, & a showering Scarlett Johansson for Vmagazine, promoting her latest role as Janet Leigh in Hitchcock.
I’m still out in Southampton, celebrating all things creative about the written word, but my eye is scouring the classrooms, computer labs, & lecture halls to see what my new friends & classmates are wearing. However, in an effort to stay up to the minute with Style Darling, I’ve been seeing a lot of separates looks on the red carpet, in pics taken by the paparazzo, or out for promotional events. I wanted to capture the cool & casual style of some of my favorite stars, including who are mixing up their denim, accessories, & skirts in unexpected ways. Take a look at the gallery below & share with readers who’s wearing your favorite looks! My personal favorites belong to Miley Cyrus & Anne Hathaway! Happy Styling!
At the New York premiere of the highly anticipated The Dark Knight Rises, leading ladies Anne Hathaway & Marion Cotillard stepped out in style, wearing white dresses worth talking about! Anne is donning a plunging white hand-draped Prabal Gurung gown with diamond Kwiat jewelry. The simplicity of the gown nicely offsets her new cropped ‘do, not to mention that white has always looked gorgeous on the Oscar nominee. Also, French actress Marion is wearing a cocktail dress by Dior, with Chopard jewelry & strappy Christian Louboutins. Both brunette beauties are turning head & I can’t wait to see what else they’ll be wearing as the film premieres around the world. Happy Styling!
My sincerest apologies to my followers for my lengthy absence, but life has been throwing me some very tiresome curveballs. As a consolation, I’ve dug up the best images that I could find to share with my readers & created a gallery of all of the amazing looks that sparkled at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. So many of today’s most stylish stars turned out for the prestigious event, including Eva Longoria, Jessica Chastain, Salma Hayek, Heidi Klum, Kirsten Dunst, & so on! However, my overall favorite is the very daring & elegant Diane Kruger, who very obviously dominates this gallery. Not to mention that I was happy to get a sneak peek at the latest designs by Atelier Versace, Emilio Pucci, Louis Vuitton, & Gucci. There’s no such thing as too much sparkle & the stars proved this.
Take a look at the gallery & share with us who wore your favorite looks! If red carpets are your thing, be sure to check out more from Red Carpet Review, including the Met Costume Institute Gala! Happy Styling!
I’ve been compiling a long list of my favorite looks during the 2011 calendar year & while there are still a few days left, I wanted to share the highs of the red carpet, press events, famous Style Darlings on the street, as well as the looks that have made the headlines. This is the ultimate gallery of the ensembles to wear for formal occasions, out & about on the street, to a cocktail party, or a date night, including the best descriptions that I could find of who wore what!
