Tonight’s Academy Awards have so much controversy & hype surrounding them—who has been nominated & who should win, but my main concern is: what will attendees be wearing? Of course, gowns both sleek & dramatic make an impact on the red carpet, but I, personally, love getting a closer look at the dazzling diamonds, mesmerizing emeralds, & & more—all of which complete the overall story that each ensemble expresses. Some of my favorite moments of the night include Beyoncé becoming the most awarded Grammy winner in history, Kacey Musgraves’ tribute to the late Loretta Lynn, Harry Styles winning Album of the Year, all the midnight vibes on both Taylor Swift & Jennifer Lopez, Lizzo’s joy, Sam Smith & Kim Petras winning for “Unholy,” & Viola Davis earning her EGOT status with a Grammy win tonight!
Julia Garner‘s star meter has been on the rise for a number of years now, especially after her award-winning performance as Ruth in the Netflix series Ruth, earning her both 2 Emmy Awards & a Golden Globe Award. Tonight’s Critics Choice Awards bring us one step closer to the climax of awards season for film, but this particular ceremony includes stars of both the big screen & small screen to unite & celebrate their talent, accomplishments, & of course fashion! I don’t know about you, but I haven’t stopped my standing ovation for Angela Bassett–not only for her history-making win for Best Supporting Actress in Any Motion Picture for her outstanding role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever at last night’s 80th Golden Globe Awards, but for her entire head-to-toe look. As soon as I saw her silver glistening Pamella Roland halter gown, I said, “That’s a winner’s dress,” & was right! Her Old Hollywood-inspired bob & gorgeous jewels made for a momentous night for both film & fashion, along with that of her stunning colleagues in the industry.
From shimmering cosmetics to fluffy lashes, sculpted hairstyles to flowing locks, & statement earrings to layered necklaces, the stars celebrated the night in the most stylish & sparkly way they know how.
