Cover Craze: Adele’s Glorious Comeback & Style for ELLE’s September 2022 Issue!

When Adele sings, talks, poses for a photo shoot, & posts on Instagram, the world stops & for good reason! ELLE knows this, which is why the 15-time Grammy winner is featured on the coveted September issue cover in all of her diva glory, beauty, & style. In the article, written by Emma Carmichael & photographed by Mario Sorrenti, Adele discusses the heartbreak behind cancelling her Las Vegas residency, being a mother to her 9-year-old son Angelo, the authenticity of her performances, her continued excitement to share her recent album 30 with audiences, & her relationship with sports agent Rich Paul.

Oscar-winner & A-lister Jennifer Lawrence celebrates her 32nd birthday today. The actress, & new mom, is a style star on the red carpet, for sure, but the success of her fashion choices is, in part, to her bombshell & edgy hair styles, as well as her gorgeous & flawless beauty looks at a variety of occasions, including major awards shows, film premieres, film festivals, & photo calls. The Kentucky native’s look has changed since her big break in 2010’s Winter’s Bone, especially with long dirty blonde locks, a more dramatic darker mane (like in Silver Lining’s Playbook & The Hunger Games), as well as a layered blonde bob. Additionally, the Mother! actress typically opts for a smoky eye, but often plays up her lips in a dark berry, bright red, or candy pink tone.

Cover Craze: Serena Williams Announces Tennis Retirement / Evolution for Vogue’s September 2022 Issue!

For the highly anticipated September issue of Vogue magazine, tennis star, style icon, & entrepreneur Serena Williams announces her “evolution” to other interests than tennis, which is what she calls it since the word “retirement” gives her pause. For the article she wrote, as told to Rob Haskill, Serena reflects on her career, women’s equality in sports, being her sister Venus’ shadow growing up, the challenges & joys of motherhood, future professional endeavors, & all of her fears as she moves forward into the next chapter of her life.

Fashion Flashback: Olivia Newton-John’s Style Through the Decades!

Singer and actress Olivia Newton-John passed away yesterday at the age of 73. The beloved Australian star had been battling cancer on & off since the early 1990s, but her legacy will continue to brighten the lives & imaginations of audiences forever with her memorable roles as Sandy in Grease & Kira in Xanadu, along with her 26 studio albums. Aside from Olivia’s remarkable stage & big screen talents, she remains one of fashion’s most underrated & timeless icons, especially after such a long career that endured through many decades of fashion risks, frills, & hairstyles!

Whether Olivia was channeling the mod looks of the 60s, bell-bottoms & peasant dresses of the 70s, pastels & sparkle in the 80s, or tailored menswear inspiration, Olivia’s style has inspired even today’s trendsetters & entertainers. Many of Olivia’s past outfits are similar what we see now on stars like Gigi Hadid, Hailee Steinfeld, Drew Barrymore, & Keira Knightley! Cover Craze: Stranger Things Star Sadie Sink is the Face of FASHION Magazine’s September Issue!

If you’re still catching up with the second volume of Stranger Things‘ 4th season, lean in! The anticipation for the 5th & final season is real, especially as star Sadie Sink is stepping more & more into the spotlight both on the Netflix fantasy drama & in other projects. The 20-year-old redhead is the face of FASHION magazine’s September issue, speaking to the article‘s author, Annika Lautens, about her journey to stardom starting out in regional theater in Houston with her brother, along with learning from colleagues, like Taylor Swift & Helen Mirren.

For the feature article’s photo shoot, styled by Karen Clarkson & photographed by Royal Gilbert, the Fear Street star’s feminine side sparkles with lots of pink, lace, regal jewels, & pointy toe pumps, which are a departure from her personal off-screen style that includes baggy jeans, a tee, & a blazer. Cover Craze: Beyoncé’s Renaissance Images are Just as Evocative as Her Music!

Usually Style Darling Daily‘s Cover Craze posts categorize stylish stars on the cover of magazines, but a new images worthy of celebration include the companion art to Beyoncé‘s Renaissance album. The staggeringly stylish collection of images goes beyond Vogue or what any music video can do in setting the tone for the 28-time Grammy winner’s seventh studio album that was produced over the course of the last three years, including during the pandemic, featuring a mix of dance, pop, funk, & techno sounds to get listeners moving!

In addition to the uptempo sound on the album, the visuals feature looks from brands & designers like Natalia Fedner, Dolce & Gabbana, Mugler, Schiaparelli, Rick Owens, Bethany Cordwell, Buerlangma, Alaia, Brian Lichtenberg, Gucci, Melissa Simon Hartman, House of Emmanuele, Christopher John Rogers, Piers Atkinson, Luis De Javier, Philipp Plein, & Gianni Naazar & Nusi Quero, all styled by Marni Senofonte & KJ Moody.

Not only are the album’s images inspired by Beyoncé’s mature & artistic side, but according to Insider, the three-act project “pays homage to queer ball culture” & “is indebted to her late Uncle Johnny, whom she described in 2019 as ‘the most fabulous gay man I’ve ever met,'” adding, “‘He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album.'”

Maybe between Only Murders in the Building & Selena + Chef, I have a little girl crush on Selena Gomez, but who doesn’t? Really? The 30-year-old star continues to celebrate her glamorous arrival into the next chapter of her life while in Italy with rumored beau Andrea Iervolino, making a stylish & sparkling statement in a LaPointe orange sequin tank (shop here) & coordinating Bermuda shorts (shop here).

The look is glamorous, unapologetic, mature, & timeless for a young woman living it up in Capri, a celebrity hotspot as of late, & shopping at YSL. However, finding an affordable & comparable look inspired by these LaPointe pieces is somewhat difficult (try Poshmark or Mercari for similar separates too), but if a shoulder-to-knee sequins may be a bit much for you, think about coordinating the sparkle with satin for a luxurious & comfortable outfit. However, Academy Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway effortlessly proves otherwise while out & about in New York City this past weekend. As summer comes to an end, one upside to look forward to (aside from the pumpkin spice latte craze) is that awards season is just around the corner. This year’s Emmy nominations for the most groundbreaking & entertaining performances on television (networks, cable, & streaming) were announced last month, inciting shock over snubs & much debate about the worthiest of nominees. However, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan earns her 5th, & well-deserved Emmy nomination (garnering 1 win in 2018 for the show’s debut season), 4 of which are for her portrayal of the lovable, frustrating, hilarious, & stylish Midge Maisel as a struggling comic & divorcee in the 1950s-60s.

At a recent Emmy FYE event, Rachel was photographed nailing a combination of trends, paying homage to the 90s with wide-leg pants, a crop top, & a peace sign pose (#girlpower). Show Me the Shoes: Fancy Flowered Flats in Navy!

As I’m preparing to return to the office after almost 2 1/2 weeks off, my mind is racing with style inspiration for what I’ll wear! Even though I’m not teaching again until the fall semester begins, there’s still plenty of opportunity to explore summer work style & that starts with a cute pair of navy flats!

I’d purchased very plain faux suede navy flats from Old Navy years ago, which were staples for anytime I needed a pop of the darker neutral to complete a mostly blue look for work. Eventually, those flats were worn out, but I did order another pair. However, I dreamt of more special navy flats, something with flare to rank with my assortment of patent leather, lace, snake embossed, bowed, jeweled, laser cut, & studded flats in other colors. Navy just never seemed to have its moment—until I found the Ollio faux suede decorative flower pointed toe ballet flats @Amazon ($29.99, available in sizes 6-10 & in 6 additional colors).

I have an 8 medium foot, so these fit me perfectly for work when wearing a blouse & dress pants, wrap dress & cardigan, or if I am attending a special daytime occasion, these coordinate well with any spring or cocktail-length dress needing a navy companion. Unfortunately, the flats are not available in wide & some half sizes.

As fall fashion starts to poke its fashionable head into retail windows, these flats, in addition to the other jewel-toned green & mustard options, are on my mind & remain in an all-year rotation. Living in Style: Stackable & Sophisticated Jewelry Trays from Target!

As Mission: Get Organized continues, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much, but still have a long way to go; however, I haven’t lost my motivation. Months ago, I purchased 2 of these online, not quite knowing how I’d use them since I already have a few other stacking trays & jewelry boxes, but I knew I’d need plenty of options. While the trays can store all types of jewelry in varying sizes, I selected only shorter pendant necklaces & drop earrings—although I have 2 more sets of trays on the way, which was an even sweeter deal after Target’s $10 off $50 Circle offer! I love the bright color, which matches perfectly with my cloffice, along with the soft linen fabric!

I appreciate how everything can be seen in each layer & once I can see all of my jewelry, I’ll create a better system in storing by metal (gold tone, silver tone, or rose tone) or bead color, along with type of earring (chandelier, beaded, dangle, threaders, etc.) or if a pair has multiples in different colors, which will be helpful when I know I want a certain type of earring or necklace in a specific metal.

For the final image, I’m unsure how I’ll use the ring space since I’d like to keep this tray solely for necklaces, but perhaps once I recover all of my necklace extenders, I’ll be able to keep them here as well.

Everyone is talking about Blonde, the new Netflix portrayal of the one & only, Marilyn Monroe, played by Cuban superstar Ana de Armas the full, official trailer was finally released after a teaser trailer & slew of breathtaking images that truly bring Monroe to life on screen in a way that’s always been attempted by previous interpretations of the bombshell’s life, career, & relationships.

The Andrew Dominik-directed adaptation of Joyce Carol Oates’ fictional biography of Monroe’s inner life is rated NC-17 & will be available to stream on September 28th.

I can’t wait for the return of Ted Lasso! I didn’t expect to enjoy the show at all, but I knew it earned rave reviews & loads of awards over the last 2ish years; however, aside from the mega-talented cast & heartwarming core to all the show’s hilarity, Emmy-winner Hannah Waddingham, who plays the staggeringly chic Rebecca Welton, puts all other fashionable characters of television to shame!
