Stocking Stuffer Sparklers!

When in doubt, I always turn to accessories & jewelry for gift giving. It’s fun for me to shop through stacks & stacks of sparkly goodies, where I can always find a little something for myself too. However, with the days counting down closer & closer to Christmas, I’ve been curious about affordable stocking stuffers for our stylish friends. Jewelry is a perfect way to go, especially if you know someone’s style really well. When you find that special something, it’s hard to resist the spirit of gift giving! What’s especially great about my five latest picks is that the most expensive is $18, which works fro a budget-minded shopper.

09/22/2015 Darling of the Day: Gwyenth Paltrow’s Monique Lhuillier-Inspired Look for Less!

Gwyneth Paltrow is always one to watch when it comes to celebrity style, never failing to impress since she made her red carpet mark back in the 90s. Lately, the actress has been turning heads with hints of skin, wearing bold head-to-toe monochromatic looks, & she continues to set trends for future Style Darlings. During her appearance at The Broad Museum Black Tie Dinner, she choose a modern take on an evening look with a boxy blouse & wide leg pants, both by designer Monique Lhuillier, & styled her ensemble with chandelier earrings by Norman Silverman & black pumps by Brian Atwood (which I would love to see, but I couldn’t find the pic!).

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: A Little BOGO 50% Off Sale Goes A Long Way!

There’s always room in my accessories arsenal for some earrings (as seen in my various Instagram posts), which is why I have to share the latest BOGO 50% off sale on jewelry @Express. I’m crazy about the elegant & sophisticated fashion jewelry, perfect for day & evening, especially when there’s a coupon in hand. During my latest mall venture, I discovered & fell in love with the earrings below, which I already have lined up for very special outfits.

Express - faceted stone dangle earrings $!9.90 & white stone stud earrings $19.90.SHOP: faceted stone dangle earrings ($19.90) in shiny gold (also available in pale pink) & stone stud earrings with pave halo ($19.90) in white (also available in turquoise) @Express.

While I love special, one-of-a-kind jewelry, I’m also a big fan of go-to piece when in a rush. What kind of jewelry do you like to wear over the summer? What sales are you shopping this season? Do you prefer gold or silver, or do you mix your metals? The $100 Challenge: Spring Into A Budget-Friendly Dress Look!

‘Tis the season to be pretty! There are hints of spring everywhere & I even see flowers starting to pop up out of the ground, which means that it’s time to start considering the new & bright pieces for our wardrobe. This includes cotton dresses, wedges, lightweight cardigans, & baring some skin from under the heavy layers of winter. I was clicking through the Old Navy website, which is when I found the striped fit & flare dress ($20.00) in black & white, which is also available in creme caramel.

I knew this look deserved a pop of color, which is why I added the peep toe wedges ($24.90) in green from Forever 21 & American Eagle Outfitter‘s perforated crossbody bag ($19.99) in lemon yellow. Both pieces are perfect to mix & match with other wardrobe staples like dark denim jeans & a ruffled blouse, a graphic tee & mini skirt, or wrap dress & ballet flats.

To complete the look, I headed to LOFT for the dot haircalf skinny belt ($20.99), which is on sale 30% off with no code needed after its already reduced price. I love the idea of matching stripes & polka dots for a truly feminine look, so I wanted to keep with a black accent in the outfit with Forever 21‘s teardrop rhinestone earrings ($5.80). Lastly, the 4-pack bracelet ($7.95) from H&M is a fun way of adding some personality with the layers of chains, studs, & rhinestones.

The total for this look comes to $99.53 (before taxes) & can make for a wonderfully feminine look for a variety of occasions. Try this dress with a blazer to play up the juxtaposition of its softness with some menswear-inspiration, or consider adding the belt with a floral wrap dress & slingback heels. The Stylish Five: Friday The 13th Deals ($13 & Under!)

Not only can we say TGIF today, but it is Friday, the 13th! So if you’re superstitious, good luck today! In celebration of the often down-on-your-luck lauded day, I’ve added a new post to The Stylish Five, including some stylish deals on items under $13.00.  Of course, with my arsenal of go-to stores, this wasn’t very hard. The hard part was narrowing down my picks to just five pieces!

@Forever 21, this perforated knit cardigan ($12.80) in yellow is perfect for throwing over your favorite summer dress when it starts to get cooler at night.  I love the lemon yellow hue which is perfect to pair with virtually any color under the sun, including tangerine, cornflower blue, slate, & fuchsia.  Next up is a stop @Old Navy for some bangle fun with the satin-covered bracelet ($6.47). The edgy accessory is available in black, orange, yellow, & blue.  Mix them together or wear them with an assortment of other bracelets to create a textured effect.  While we have jewelry on the brain, JCP‘s everyday deals include the Color Craze pink chandelier earrings ($3.00) which will make any maxi dress look all the more exotic or can very easily dress up a shorts romper.

Nothing says classic quite like a button down, & The Limited‘s Collins shirt ($12.99) makes a bold statement in cobalt, but since this is such a great deal, why not splurge on the grey & purple options too? Wear this tucked in with a pencil skirt & pumps or loose over some cropped jeans & wedges.  Lastly, I’ve been searching high & low for the perfect pair of purple flip-flops & I should’ve have known that the Lita flip-flops ($3.99) from Wet Seal would be the answer to my prayers.  These are perfect for any & every casual event, but if you’re looking for more color variety, have no fear b/c they’re also available in yellow, turquoise, & pink!

Which of these five picks is your favorite? What special Friday the 13th deals are you scouring the internet for? Happy Styling!

I have talked about affordable accessories from store like Forever 21, Target, Payless, H&M, & Kohl’s, which I will continue to endorse, however these are perfectly stylish designs for the earring lover in all of us, even though they run in price between $22.00 – $34.00. Luxury Look-ALikes for Less: Chandelier Earrings from Nordstrom Vs. Forever 21!

Every Style Darling has an opinion about jewelry, if it should be genuine, or that fashion jewelry makes a statement about their personality & getting something cute for a bargain is essential.  I, of course, go with the latter mantra.  When it comes to earrings, I’m very much a novice, sticking to studs myself.  However, after seeing Sofia Vergara’s staggering emerald chandelier earrings at this year’s Emmy awards, I’m loving this decadent style, although I’m not wearing it.

When researching to find some luxury look-alikes for less, these chandelier earrings came up, although they are different in tone, but the luxe appearance of stones makes for a stylish neutral to any LBD or blouse & jeans outfit.  They’re an instant go-to for putting together a look for a wedding, or transforming your work outfit into something cocktail-ready for an evening event.  Not to mention, there’s a big price difference between the earrings as well.

@Nordstrom, you can find Kendra Scott’s ‘Trista’ stone chandelier earrings ($51.90), which are reduced from $78.00.  If you’re a Nordstrom shopper, you should know then that there are 2 days left to earn double rewards points through your membership! The beaded chandelier earrings ($4.06) from Forever 21 are marked down 30%.  If you shop around for jewelry on the site regularly, start clicking since the 30% off sale is for THREE DAYS ONLY!

Do these danglers do it for you?  How would you wear them?  How much are you willing to spend on such a timeless & elegant pair of earrings? Happy Styling!

1/30/11 Darling of the Day: Ali Larter at 2007 Emmy’s in Reem Acra!

At the 2007 Emmy Awards, Heroes star Ali Larter wore a shining crimson gown by Reem Acra.  She was a favorite among critics for her effortless style & glamorous delivery of chic minimalism, while still channeling something Grecian too!  Red is sometimes hard to pull off on the red carpet, you wouldn’t want to blend in, but with the right accessories, this scarlet sweetheart satin gown is a stunning creation & perfect for her slim frame.  The simplicity of the dress screams for accessories & nothing will pop against this quite like diamonds or platinum, but if you’re a Style Darling on a budget, the perhaps sticking to chandelier earrings & a bauble of a cocktail ring will do the trick!

If you love red, then you have to see these dresses by worn on the red carpet like Anne Hathaway in Marchesa, Christina Hendricks in Romona Keveza, & Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga.  Happy Styling!
