Outside of escapism through the glories of fashion, the entertainment industry adds more fantasy & glamour to our imaginations, especially from the comfort of our homes. While bloggers & cinephiles around the country are gearing up for the upcoming Academy Awards, let’s take a moment to appreciate the fun, funny, & fashionable on-screen romp of the upcoming sequel Murder Mystery 2, starring Jennifer Aniston & Adam Sandler, who return as Audrey & Nick Spitz. The characters are invited on an exotic private island getaway, but things turn criminal & chaotic with plenty of humor in tow when the groom, Maharajah from 2019’s Murder Mystery, is getting married until… well, you’ll have to watch the trailer to learn more!

Also, the duo is joined by plenty more star powe, including Jodie Turner-Smith, Mark Strong, Melanie Laurent, & Tony Goldwyn! Not to mention, Jennifer Aniston’s style game is on pointe for this film & I can’t wait to see what she wears when promoting this comedy adventure that also brings the couple to Paris!

It’s a slow, gray winter here on Long Island, but there have been plenty of cozy days & dreams of warmer weather. Show Me the Shoes: Braided Mules for Spring in 12 Colors!

The 2020s have seen a major shift in style, especially concerning footwear as 90s & early 2000s trends are slowly creeping back. While a stiletto heel is classic, block heels have returned & we’ll be seeing them in the spring. Additionally, open slides with braiding details will be trendy once again, & why shouldn’t they be? The mule style is easy to slide on & when it comes in multiple colors, the stylish possibilities are endless.

Inside a Style Blogger’s Closet: Sequins on Sweaters & Velvet on Leggings—These are a Few of My Favorite Things!

Every Sunday night, I try to take an hour or so to outfit prep, as stated in a previous post from September. When one planned outfit didn’t quite work out this week, I had to switch things up in a pinch, so that I could still get myself ready, get my daughter up & ready & arrive at work on time. This was the original planned outfit, but the pants were noticeably too short for a 30-degree winter day on Long Island & I wasn’t about to dig out my boots from another part of the house.

Then, upon changing up the clothing & keeping the accessories, this is what I ended up wearing:

Eventually, I realized that the sweater & leggings are newer pieces that I recently purchased & they’re still available to shop for. I’ll definitely be wearing these pieces (in different ways) throughout the season as the sweater is so versatile in terms of styling & color matching & the leggings can be dressed up or down with a tunic or hoodie & paired with boots, heels, or sneakers.

I mean, the headline says it all! All spring, summer, & early fall, my go-to outerwear item, if needed, is a denim jacket. I’ve had the same dark denim one for Dressbarn (similar here) for years & I’ve found doppelgängers in other washes that I’ve added to my rotation. I love contrasting something sparkly or printed with a neutral denim, especially since my everyday bottoms range in pattern or texture. Currently, I’m never thinking about springtime until I log on to social media & see Style Darlings across the country, especially those in warmer locations, donning lightweight floral-printed tops, dresses, or pants. However, retailers are ready for pastels & preparing shoppers for Spring Break!

All late spring & summer long, I’m wearing a dress! It’s one piece & great for casual or dressy occasions, depending on how it’s styled. I love being able to share a dress that not only comes in several different colors, but is an inclusive option for all sizes! Case in point:

If there’s any kind of pant that I love, it’s a pull-on pair, especially after experiencing the changes in my body after having my daughter. Since last fall, I’ve been searching for pull-on styles in all different materials & patterns to alternate throughout the changing seasons. However, winter styles are currently hitting the clearance racks & spring is bursting through retailers’ doors!

I say “experiment” because I’m usually warm at work, giving a lecture or running from classroom to office, so I’d be reluctant to order the other colors if I couldn’t quite commit—but they sure are cute!

Tonight’s Critics Choice Awards bring us one step closer to the climax of awards season for film, but this particular ceremony includes stars of both the big screen & small screen to unite & celebrate their talent, accomplishments, & of course fashion! What an accomplished & impressive career she has lead, in addition to earning 2 Academy Award nominations. The British star is expected to wow audiences in the big screen, two-part adaptation of Broadway’s Wicked, playing the green, evil Elphaba, but it’s her flair for drama on the red carpet that I’m most excited to discuss.
