I don’t know about you, but I consume television partially for the fashion, which is why I love Emily in Paris, starring the adorable Lily Collins! The Netflix star recently posted the juiciest & most fashionable first glance images of the long-awaited third season. Obviously, Emily’s style game is on pointe & she’s really leaning into those bangs!
While this latest season won’t drop until likely early 2023, I can’t wait to see how the ex-patriate fish out of water story continues with love triangles, major laughs, bonding friendships, & plenty of social media talk, & more!

The Karl Lagerfeld Paris Carlisle pump in black (on sale: $118.30) floored me! I’m not a major name brand shopper—I’m more of an admirer from a far. However, I couldn’t help myself, gawking mouth agape & all, thinking of the kind of life a woman wearing these shoes must live. Then, my mind went into a tailspin of styling possibilities: a tailored suit with a bow-neck blouse, cocktail dress for New Year’s Eve, a fit & flare dress with a leather jacket for date night, or a tunic sweater & studded jeggings. No matter the style, these are fierce shoes, going on my wishlist! Truth be told, I’ll likely never actually purchase them, fearing my budget-oriented voice of reason would judge & guilt me over all the other ways I could have invested my money… Oh well!

The ceremony for The 74th Annual Emmy Awards takes place tomorrow night & I’m so excited to see what my favorite stars are wearing, especially since there are so many deserving returning favorites to the show, along with first-time nominees whose work has been dominating social media fodder. I choose pink since I am predicting that is the color that will reign over this year’s red carpet, especially after a summer of Barbiecore. When I learned that Golden Globe-nominated actress Ana de Armas had arrived in Venice, I was so excited to refresh my feeds to see what the Cuban star would wear to the highly-anticipated premiere of her controversial film, Blonde, where she stars as Marilyn Monroe. Naturally, her red carpet look would be elegant & stunning, but also, I wondered if & how the gown would represent the bombshell icon at the center of the film.
In a bright pink pleated gown with a deep-v by Louis Vuitton, Ana graced the red carpet in true Hollywood fashion. Her gentle waves & sophisticated jewelry by Messika hearken to an era of glamour & ease that offers a refreshing twist on Barbiecore.
Additionally, the hue pays homage to Marilyn’s signature pink from her “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” musical sequence in the 1949 film Gentleman Prefer Blondes; likewise, the halter & pleated look of Ana’s dress are reminiscent of the iconic subway grate scene in The Seven Year Itch from 1955.
Escorted to the premiere by one of the film’s producers, Brad Pitt, Ana shines, which is no surprise. I hope this marks the beginning of an exciting & stylish press tour for the 2 hour 46-minute film that’s rated NC-17 & is based on the disorienting evocative fictional biography by Joyce Carol Oates that begins streaming on Netflix on September 28th, especially leading up to awards season!
Zendaya is the ultimate style chameleon, appearing confident, innovative, flawless, strong, & feminine all at the same time always! It’s not an easy feat, especially at 26 years old! The Euphoria actress’ style easily ranks among top A-listers, like Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, & Sarah Jessica Parker! The Kentucky native’s look has changed since her big break in 2010’s Winter’s Bone, especially with long dirty blonde locks, a more dramatic darker mane (like in Silver Lining’s Playbook & The Hunger Games), as well as a layered blonde bob. There are 2 very remarkable accomplishments for Selena + Chef:
1. The show launched in August 2020 for 10 seasons that were meant to connect audiences during a time of disconnection; streaming, food, & entertainment served as society’s escape from the pandemic. As a result, newcomers to the kitchen identified with Selena’s unfamiliarity with certain foods, skills, & utensils. Whether you were watching from the comfort of your couch or taking notes to recreate the dish yourself, everyone bonded as Selena learned to cook virtually with a variety of celebrity chefs.
2. As these celebrity chefs share their love of food & culture, a range of charities found a platform for awareness & “the series has raised $400,000” in donations to “26 nonprofit organizations,” according to People. As Selena cooks up some laughs & indulges in the spices & sweets, she’s shining a much-deserved spotlight on underprivileged communities, mental health issues, liked-minded foodies, & more!
Lastly, I’m most excited about 2 things this season: 1. Watching more of Selena’s kitchenware line Our Place x Selena, which includes 2 innovative, all-purpose items: a pan for always & a pot for always in 11 different colors! Now, that’s style! 2. What Selena wears in the kitchen!
As summer comes to an end, one upside to look forward to (aside from the pumpkin spice latte craze) is that awards season is just around the corner. This year’s Emmy nominations for the most groundbreaking & entertaining performances on television (networks, cable, & streaming) were announced last month, inciting shock over snubs & much debate about the worthiest of nominees. However, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan earns her 5th, & well-deserved Emmy nomination (garnering 1 win in 2018 for the show’s debut season), 4 of which are for her portrayal of the lovable, frustrating, hilarious, & stylish Midge Maisel as a struggling comic & divorcee in the 1950s-60s.
