I love a sparkle, obviously! When I saw the Ava + Vivlurex v-neck sweater @Target (on sale: $15.00) marked down 40% off, I knew I had to have one—& I knew I had to blog about it!
Not only is this a cozy & glamorous sweater, but it’s perfect for the season for shoppers who wear X-4X. Also, this is a great topper for an oversized look in black, green, cream, & burgundy. I bought the black since the green wasn’t available in stores at the time I was shopping. I can’t wait to style this with velvet leggings & embellish flats, a faux leather midi skirt & satin pumps, or skinny jeans & ankle boots.

All year long, I keep my short sleeve & sleeveless tops & camis handy so that I can break them out when needed. These instances may be to pair with a heavy, printed, or embellished cardigan,, along with trousers, a pencil skirt, a midi skirt, or skinny jeans. A cami doesn’t have to be boring, though a classic white cotton one is a staple investment for sweater season. However, a cami with shine? Oh yes!
I love the possibilities of this for fall looks, coordinating the black sequin top with burgundy velvet pants & a mustard cardigan, as well as the copper with some leopard print & gold accessories. Both options are also prime for the upcoming holiday season too!
There are some accessories or around-the-house pieces I was always rely on until I just can’t wear them anymore. That definitely applies to slippers. In our high ranch house, since we live most of the time upstairs, I keep a pair in the bedroom for early, chilly mornings & when getting ready for bed. Likewise, I have another pair in my cloffice downstairs for work-from-home days & playing with my daughter in our family room. This is convenient, so that no matter where I am, I have slippers to stay cozy.

Throughout the pandemic, I’ve not only reevaluated my wardrobe needs, but also embraced the possibilities of loungewear. Now, I appreciate matching separates for not only their colors & textures, but also for the ease of the preassembled outfit for cozy indoor days. I have some leaf studs & charm or pendant necklaces, but they’re all very neutral in gold or antique gold. None are literally celebrating the autumn season… until now!

Even though the weather (here on Long Island) is teetering between summer & fall with summer heat still palpable, it’s sweater season in stores! Now is the best time to get the newest colors & cuts in woven wonders, especially if your fall wardrobe needs a refresh. I can definitely envision myself getting the green, magenta, & navy, especially to coordinate with a statement necklace & my favorite A New Day pants, leggings & knee boots, skinny jeans & ankle booties, or a pencil skirt & pointy flats for any given fall day! The neutral tones cry out for a bold or jewel-toned companion piece & the brighter colors would match well with any menswear-inspired trouser or juxtaposed texture in lace or jacquard.
During my recent escapade into the world of home organization—mainly for my cloffice & bedroom wardrobe space—I made an investment in pieces & fixtures to house my accessories collection. Although, my ambition was larger than it should have been since finally unpacking my duds & getting my sparkly style ducks in a row. Additionally, my favorite storage piece to keep in my bedroom for quick access to my most favorite & precious long strand necklaces & chain bracelets doesn’t even look like a typical organizer or jewelry box, which is exactly why I love it!
I decided to keep them in my bedroom for quick access, especially on a weekend when I don’t usually plan my outfits ahead of time, so that I could grab a staple long necklace & bracelet if a day of errands turned into family dropping by or going out to eat. Most pieces in each organizer are either neutral / all-purpose jewelry that would go with basically anything or something so special & treasured I want it handy right away. They’re atop another duo of jewelry organizers & even though they’re a stark white against the ivory & beige tones of the bedroom, they’re so compact & useful, I actually don’t mind.
I’m still all about summer right now, but the new fall fashions are everywhere. As I’ve been sorting & organizing my wardrobe to prepare for the upcoming fall semester, I find myself in need of a hosiery refresh, which is just in time to catch the last days of Target’s 30% off Clothing, Accessories, & Shoes discount through the Target app, which expires on Sat 8/20. I’ve hit add-to-cart on a bunch of black patterned tights by A New Day to keep my legs protected when the temperature drops, but my style high with a variety of prints to go with any outfit.
Try florals against solid separates or when colorblocking. Perhaps, going with menswear inspiration or something geometric would contrast a polka dot or brocade look for fall. During a recent black hole viewing of Instagram stories (I’m not the only one, am I?), I came across a blogger sharing their interpretation for summer-to-fall teacher outfits, including A New Day’s high-rise slim straight pull-on pants @Target ($25.00, available in sizes XS-4X). There are 2 qualities about these pants that I loved right away: 1. They’re pull-on. Ever since I’ve had my daughter, pants with zippers are the enemy & pull-on pants are my loyal subjects! 2. The variety includes navy (windowpane), black pinstriped, gray (plaid), gray (& black/purple houndstooth), cream, green, brown, & black. So far, I’ve ordered all, except the black because they weren’t available in my size, & I’ve received the navy & gray houndstooth. They’re very comfortable & run true to size. I love the length (being that I’m 5’3″).
For a professional day, they will pair nicely with a blouse-cardigan-ballet flat combination or a short sleeve sweater & statement necklace with mule heels. I’d love to style these pants for more than just work though. When headed somewhere more casual, I can see pairing the solid options with a dolman top & sandals or a printed tee & wedges. About 15 years ago, I would’ve totally donned a look like this—which is not to say that it’s out of style; it’s just not my personal aesthetic. As Mission: Get Organized continues, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much, but still have a long way to go; however, I haven’t lost my motivation. Having a reliable, stylish system is key to maintaining home organization in my cloffice & it’s of the utmost importance for my ample fashion jewelry collection that I’ve gifted myself during my years as a blogger, in retail, & as a stylist.
Months ago, I purchased 2 of these online, not quite knowing how I’d use them since I already have a few other stacking trays & jewelry boxes, but I knew I’d need plenty of options. While the trays can store all types of jewelry in varying sizes, I selected only shorter pendant necklaces & drop earrings—although I have 2 more sets of trays on the way, which was an even sweeter deal after Target’s $10 off $50 Circle offer! I love the bright color, which matches perfectly with my cloffice, along with the soft linen fabric!
I appreciate how everything can be seen in each layer & once I can see all of my jewelry, I’ll create a better system in storing by metal (gold tone, silver tone, or rose tone) or bead color, along with type of earring (chandelier, beaded, dangle, threaders, etc.) or if a pair has multiples in different colors, which will be helpful when I know I want a certain type of earring or necklace in a specific metal.
For the final image, I’m unsure how I’ll use the ring space since I’d like to keep this tray solely for necklaces, but perhaps once I recover all of my necklace extenders, I’ll be able to keep them here as well.
When considering accessories for vacation, I keep it super minimal, especially since it’s a hot summer week & I’m vacationing with a toddler to toddler-friendly places. That’s not to say I can’t do it in style, but I bring 2 bags, a few neutral sandals, 1 hat, 1 pair of sunglasses, & the most neutral earrings sets. The only other jewelry I wear is my wedding ring. We’re not planning on any fancy dining, so I just keep it mom-chic. Since we’re away for only 4 days & I have 5 piercings in each ear, I typically stack up on the earrings to avoid the discomfort of a necklace or bracelet on my skin.

Every time I search the web for blog inspiration, especially when it comes to affordable fashion jewelry buys, I am boggled by the fact that statement necklaces, circa 2010-2020, are not as prominently available as they used to be. However, my jewelry collection is certainly not lacking, but I can’t help it that I like shiny, sparkly bling!
Also, as I am finally able to have the chance to unpack—in my contemplative, soul-cleansing solitude—& organize my wardrobe collection in our spare bedroom, which I call my “cloffice,” I am finally unveiling all those packages that I ordered in the last two years since moving into my family’s first home together.
Now, nothing against headbands—which I don’t wear—but I wanted a way to display my statement necklaces in all of their sparkly glory. I ordered 3, not knowing exactly how many I needed, nor did I consider how much space the stands would take up as I began to sort through my jewelry. While I am only somewhat embarrassed to share that what is displayed below is a mere fraction of my statement necklaces, I am considering investing in a few more stands once the proper shelving is available in my cloffice.
For now, I am happy that my statement necklaces are glistening & glimmering atop a nightstand that has been “fashioned” into a partial bookcase. Additionally, all of the statement necklace is pictured above are three years old or older from stores like Francesca’s, New York & Company, Dressbarn, JC Penney, Icing, & Forever 21; otherwise, I would share some links! Furthermore, stands are sturdy, soft to the touch, & easy to assemble in 3 separate pieces that can be arranged to your preference. When it comes to sleepwear, I am so picky, it’s almost embarrassing. However, I am all about comfort & coverage, no matter the season. As I started to recognize how overworn much of my pajama bottoms & loungewear clothing were getting during the pandemic—I was working full-time from home for 15 months. I decided to make the investment in go-to bottoms, especially for the warmer nights when I still prefer my legs be covered up.
The always reliable & affordable Target brand, Stars Above, proved the right choice with the Beautifully Soft Cropped Pajama Pant & now, most of the selection is on clearance. I bought 2 black pair & 1 navy pair. Not only are they comfortable to sleep in & easy to care for, they also double as acceptable loungewear bottoms if you have to run out for an errand or two or are spending the weekend home doing light chores or enjoying family time.

I’m guilty of being that “buy one in every color” shopper, as per my previous goddess dress post, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing because it makes picking out my day-to-day wardrobe seamless between family gatherings, prepping for class, heading into the office, or meeting up with friends. My latest obsession is ruffle button-front blouse from New York & Company, ranging in sizes XS-XXL. It’s currently on sale, ranging in price between $18.00-$26.97, depending on which coupon code you use & what your form of payment is; however, I like a top that I can wear with different bottoms, but also for different occasions.
Now that volume two of Stranger Things‘ fourth season has finally hit Netflix, the show’s stars are talking up that major cliffhanger ending in preparation for a final fifth season. This week, Max Mayfield herself, portrayed by the always luminous Sadie Sink, hit the press circuit with an appearance on Today, wearing all Miu Miu in a floral prairie dress & kitten heel loafer slingbacks. The 20-year-old actress discussed not only “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush as Max’s escape song, which, by the way, is still charting strong, but also Netflix’s binge-worthy success with Stranger Things, her supportive family, and starring in Taylor Swift‘s short film for her song “All Too Well.”

We’re almost at the close of June & my head & heart are already in vacation mode… & so is my wardrobe. I’ve always been able to find stylish, colorful, & multipurpose crossbody bags from Target & their A New Day brand has not let me down, yet again.
I came across this basket weave woven crossbody bag ($30.00) in coral pink, lime green, black, & teal blue in a bold display in the accessories department of my local Target store. More frequently now on the weekends, I’m opting for a smaller corssbody bag when I’m on the go, as opposed to the monster tote that I carry around all the time. Something like this with a nearly 52-inch strap length & canvas accent, especially in the coral pink, gets me excited for my family’s upcoming roadtrip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania, carrying all of my essentials, like my cell phone, ID & money, lip balm, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, & sunglasses.
I’ve been using the same crossbody from last summer, which is also one by A New Day, but it’s become more of my casual, everyday bag & for my vacation, I like the feeling of something new. The bright shade will match perfectly with an array of outfits, including a maxi dress & flat sandals for dinner, a graphic tee & linen shorts while at a park, or a blouse & cropped pants for a trip to a museum.
On sunny, summer days, aside from packing some sunscreen & shades, I keep reminding myself to invest in a stylish & fun floppy hat to protect my face from sun damage.
