Giambattista Valli is one of the most in-demand designers that every celebrity has worn on the red carpet. It’s almost like a premiere / awards show rite of passage, as seen on fan of the label like Diane Kruger, Rose Byrne, Kate Bosworth, & Kerry Washington! However, the brand’s newest Spring 2015 Couture collection hit the Paris runways. The inspiration behind the line is an impossible conversation between Coco Chanel & Janis Joplin, which was evident in details such as dresses & tunics over pants, luxe jackets & nods to menswear, as well as pops of spring florals, belted looks, flowing feathered capes, & sheer accents.
To mark the 100th anniversary of Chanel‘s first boutique, designer Karl Lagerfeldhas cast Oscar-nominated actress Keira Knightleyas leading lady, Coco Chanel, in a short film about the designer’s first outpost in Deauville, France. Once Upon A Time…will premiere on May 8th in Singapore, but will also be available for viewing that night on Chanel-News! Check out the very short trailer for the film, which also features French actress Clotilde Hesme & American model Lindsey Wixon.
It’s been a while since I posted a runway gallery, & what better day to celebrate the fabulous styles of Fall 2012 Haute Couture than by featuring the latest collection from Chanel. If you didn’t already know, August 19th marks the 129th birthday of designer Coco Chanel. In honor of the day, I’ve collected images of the 65-piece line from Elle, which shows a feminine & elegant homage to the legendary house of fashion. In addition to tweed separates, stylish jackets, & feathered dresses all in hues of black, gray, & pink. There have been quite a few videos coming out lately from big designers like Givenchy, Marni for H&M, & Christian Siriano. The latest & perhaps most beautiful to join the arsenal of fashionable videos is the Karl Lagerfeld-directed short film “The Tale of a Fairy,” for Chanel‘s 2012 Cruise collection. Perhaps the dialogue & story aren’t the most cinematically impressive, but you can’t deny that it’s a visually exciting with sleek, clean line & is a fitting, yet classic homage to the original icon of the fabulous French brand, Coco Chanel. I personally love the layered pearl necklaces, menswear inspiration, oversized sunglasses, & black & white ensembles. Who doesn’t???
