When considering accessories for vacation, I keep it super minimal, especially since it’s a hot summer week & I’m vacationing with a toddler to toddler-friendly places. That’s not to say I can’t do it in style, but I bring 2 bags, a few neutral sandals, 1 hat, 1 pair of sunglasses, & the most neutral earrings sets. The only other jewelry I wear is my wedding ring. We’re not planning on any fancy dining, so I just keep it mom-chic. Since we’re away for only 4 days & I have 5 piercings in each ear, I typically stack up on the earrings to avoid the discomfort of a necklace or bracelet on my skin.

About 5 years ago, I posted about finding the prettiest & blingiest summer sandals from David’s Bridal, ones that I still wear to this day. I rotate them with about 3 other sandals, along with flip flops & ballet flats, depending on where I’m going. However, when buying a must-have item, it’s rare to see it still available to purchase, even a whole 5 years later! Every time I search the web for blog inspiration, especially when it comes to affordable fashion jewelry buys, I am boggled by the fact that statement necklaces, circa 2010-2020, are not as prominently available as they used to be. However, my jewelry collection is certainly not lacking, but I can’t help it that I like shiny, sparkly bling!
Also, as I am finally able to have the chance to unpack—in my contemplative, soul-cleansing solitude—& organize my wardrobe collection in our spare bedroom, which I call my “cloffice,” I am finally unveiling all those packages that I ordered in the last two years since moving into my family’s first home together.
Now, nothing against headbands—which I don’t wear—but I wanted a way to display my statement necklaces in all of their sparkly glory. I ordered 3, not knowing exactly how many I needed, nor did I consider how much space the stands would take up as I began to sort through my jewelry. While I am only somewhat embarrassed to share that what is displayed below is a mere fraction of my statement necklaces, I am considering investing in a few more stands once the proper shelving is available in my cloffice.
For now, I am happy that my statement necklaces are glistening & glimmering atop a nightstand that has been “fashioned” into a partial bookcase. Additionally, all of the statement necklace is pictured above are three years old or older from stores like Francesca’s, New York & Company, Dressbarn, JC Penney, Icing, & Forever 21; otherwise, I would share some links! Furthermore, stands are sturdy, soft to the touch, & easy to assemble in 3 separate pieces that can be arranged to your preference. I decided to make the investment in go-to bottoms, especially for the warmer nights when I still prefer my legs be covered up.

I bought 2 black pair & 1 navy pair. Not only are they comfortable to sleep in & easy to care for, they also double as acceptable loungewear bottoms if you have to run out for an errand or two or are spending the weekend home doing light chores or enjoying family time.

I was scrambling to get ready for my last day of work before a long-awaited vacation & knew that I had my favorite past-season black ankle pants & a stack of casual, weekend tops at the ready without the forethought from the previous night to pick out my outfit. Suddenly, with Barbiecore on the brain, I grabbed the pink version of this top, a long necklace, & patterned flats; along with my ankle pants, I was all set. It’s not very often that I use Time and Tru pieces for work, especially when my comfortable, weekend wardrobe is way more toned down. I was happily surprised with the final look & excited to share it with readers since the 6 colors are made in sizes XS-XXXL, although availability may be limited due to the end of the summer season rush in stores.

I know I can’t wait to see it–even though action films aren’t necessarily my go-to film choice, I’m a loyal follower of Ana de Armas & Ryan Gosling, happy to support their stylish endeavors with posts on Style Darling Daily, along with their on-screen accomplishments.

Details matter, especially on footwear. I love to contrast my flowery, feminine outfit with some metallic flare on my heels or play with a dark dramatic look against an unexpected pattern on my flats. When it comes to summer, I always have an eye out for a cute tote bag to switch things up for the weekend or when preparing for a vacation. I don’t normally switch out my purse from season-to-season as I like to commit to an all-year-long neutral bag & then take something else special out for certain occasions. The combination of straw with the pop of color inspires me to play with hues in an unexpected way. For example, I’d love to try to yellow bag with a black dress or the cognac with a chambray & denim look.
If there’s any celebrity wardrobe, for their red carpet looks & street style, that I’d want to steal, it’s Modern Family actress Sofia Vergara’s…EVERYTHING! She’s confident, feminine, sultry, & glam ALL. THE. TIME.

Now that volume two of Stranger Things‘ fourth season has finally hit Netflix, the show’s stars are talking up that major cliffhanger ending in preparation for a final fifth season. This week, Max Mayfield herself, portrayed by the always luminous Sadie Sink, hit the press circuit with an appearance on Today, wearing all Miu Miu in a floral prairie dress & kitten heel loafer slingbacks. The 20-year-old actress discussed not only “Running Up That Hill” by Kate Bush as Max’s escape song, which, by the way, is still charting strong, but also Netflix’s binge-worthy success with Stranger Things, her supportive family, and starring in Taylor Swift‘s short film for her song “All Too Well.”

Even if you’re not a fan of the Kardashian-Jenner empire, you can’t deny the impact that the 5 sisters (Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, & Kylie) have had on social media, fashion, beauty, & pop culture. Most recently, Kim Kardashian is the star of Allure‘s August 2022 cover, where she speaks with writer Danielle Pergament, getting real about her career & family goals, the public’s perception of her, beauty standards, & her commitment to her beauty regimen with her recently launched nine-step skincare line SKKN by Kim.
