While they reproduce their staple Chelsea cardigan each fall, my hunt for something different in terms of a cardigan always leads to success with this retailer. Specifically, the peplum button-front cardigan (on sale: $39.00) is available in sizes XS-XXL & in 4 rich & regal colors: black, dark purple, golden seal, & navy.

The flattering fit & flare look is the perfect options to show off your shape when pairing it with a blouse or cami, along with skinny jeans, straight leg printed trousers, bootcut pants, a pleated skirt, or a pencil skirt. Show Me the Shoes: Fabulous Floral Flats for Fall!

When it comes to fall fashion, bold florals don’t usually come to mind first, but I like mixing it up when the seasons change with unexpected pops of colors so as not to look like everyone else in plaid & still challenge myself. Anyway, expressing one’s style isn’t about following trends!

Florals are not for everyone & I typically veer my style attention away from a traditional grandmother/curtain-looking floral; however, one pair of floral flats that I’ve had since last year always seems to stay in rotation. I love the Dream Paris casual pointed toe ballet comfort soft slip on flat shoes in floral @Amazon (on sale: $21.99 & available in sizes 5-12) for the color versatility with magenta, purple, white, neon green, navy, & black.

I’ve worn these to the office with virtually every solid maxi dress that I own, paired with a crochet bolero or cardigan, as well as with different pant & blouse outfits. After getting another closet look at them online & wearing them on & off cue the last few months, I suspect that the floral pattern placement on each pair may vary, as seen with my shoes below.

For fall, I even love mixing these flats with a navy & magenta outfit, as well as a black & purple color-blocked look. Not to mention that the shoes are perfect beyond the office with a shift or fit & flare dress for a special occasion. They’re super comfortable & I get so many compliments on them every time I wear them.

Additionally, they’re reduced in priced from $35.99 & have a 4/5 rating from over 7,000 reviews! However, one downside is that they’re not available for shoppers needing a wide width size.

When I find an article of clothing I like & can see myself wearing it on the daily, I become obsessed & can’t stop thinking about all the styling possibilities & if I should just get 1 every color! Sometimes, 1 in every color is excessive, but when it’s comfortable & versatile for nearly any season, why not?

Well, the Lock & Love store on Amazon has cast this spell on me with their kimono-inspired top in both a scoop & v-neck ($17.95, available in sizes XS-5XL).

With over 26,000 reviews, a 4.2/5 rating, & a variety of over 20 colors to choose from for both necklines, I’ve added to cart! Though, I prefer more of a scoop neck, as opposed to v, myself. Also, I appreciate that this is a piece I can share with readers of any size too!

I’d style these with any kind of printed pant for heading back to the classroom, such as a window pane or plaid, with pointed ballet flats; a pencil skirt in lace or jacquard with stilettos; dark denim jeans with ankle booties & a statement necklace; or a jeweled cardigan & my favorite dress pants. As I await my order to arrive, I’m super excited to share another fabulous 1 in every color find since timeless, fashionable, & comfortable basics—at the right price—are a must-have for any time of the year, as well as for any professional or social situation. We finally know who killed Bunny Folger! Don’t worry—no major spoilers areas. Just some fashion talk!

As many of you may have already seen, the epic season 2 finale of Only Murders in the Building is now available on Hulu, resolving & shocking audiences with hints as to what’s to come for the already highly anticipated third season!

During the episode, Mabel Mora, played spectacularly by Selena Gomez, attends a Broadway production in a stunning one-shoulder emerald satin gown with a high slit.

Images for a full view of the dress are not yet available online, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take inspiration from Mabel’s vintage chic style & the wondrous costume designing of Emmy nominee Dana Covarrubias.

Show Me the Shoes: Mules for Back-to-School!

One style of shoe that’s growing on me (& the trendiest this past spring-summer) is the mule, which always gave me pause since I like to feel a footwear all around my foot—with the exception of flip-flops. However, as I’m getting ready—mentally & stylishly—for the fall semester, as many teachers & professors are, I have my sights set on fashionable, but comfortable footwear.

The Time & Tru twist mule @Walmart ($16.98, available in sizes 6-11) is the answer, especially in black & blush! The low heel & twisted front present a stylish option to coordinate with any blouse & trousers look for parent-teacher conferences, a midi dress & cardigan for the first day of school, or a pair of dark denim jeans with a button-down.

Also, one thing to keep in mind when viewing the miles online versus in person is the difference in shade for the blush pair, as seen below from my discovery of the shoe in-person:

I did try these on & they were comfortable. I didn’t get far walking in them, but they’re still on my mind. I do wish they were available in navy or olive since those are some of my favorite summer-to-fall transition hues.

Even though my jewelry collection is very full & not lacking in any way, I decided to treat myself anyway to earrings that are different from what I already have & that I knew I’d wear—& for a bargain! to boot!

Try florals against solid separates or when colorblocking. Perhaps, going with menswear inspiration or something geometric would contrast a polka dot or brocade look for fall. Living in Style: More Stackable Jewelry Organizers!

Since my previous post about stackable jewelry organization, my efforts have taken a turn as I repurposed the Household Essentials 3pc stacking jewelry trays @Target for drop earrings, hoops, crawlers, & front-to-back earrings, which meant that I had to find a new home for the necklaces & bracelets that once resided in them. Luckily, a few weeks ago, I found the Linus Fashion Vanity & Drawer Organizer Jewelry Organizer Tray in clear @Walmart ($14.99). See below:

Once I filled the 4 I ordered, I saw that my jewelry inventory of short chain & pendant necklaces & chain bracelets was still greater than the organization pieces that I had. I wanted to keep the like items together in a way that would be both visible & organized, so I sought to reorder them, but they were no longer in stock!

As my search continued, I discovered the mDesign stackable plastic storage jewelry box – 2 organizer trays with lids in clear @Amazon, which were equal in size to the Walmart ones, so I knew I could stack more in the deep drawers of the nightstand, even if some of the trays were a little different in how they’re divided up.

As I combined the different trays, I actually found the lids useful in order to ensure that everything was level & I could open & close the drawer without any issues. Here is the end result:

Maybe between Only Murders in the Building & Selena + Chef, I have a little girl crush on Selena Gomez, but who doesn’t? Really? The 30-year-old star continues to celebrate her glamorous arrival into the next chapter of her life while in Italy with rumored beau Andrea Iervolino, making a stylish & sparkling statement in a LaPointe orange sequin tank (shop here) & coordinating Bermuda shorts (shop here).

The look is glamorous, unapologetic, mature, & timeless for a young woman living it up in Capri, a celebrity hotspot as of late, & shopping at YSL. It won’t be long before actress (& Emmy-nominated producer), Grammy-nominated singer, & Rare Beauty entrepreneur Selena Gomez will be dominating 2 streaming services with Only Murders in the Building continuing its second season on Hulu, as well as the return of Selena + Chef on HBO Max for a 4th season, boasting lots of fun & food love already, at least based on the trailer below. The celebrity chef-in-progress takes her gaggle of gal pals to an already screen-seasoned Malibu beach house, where both Hannah Montana & Big Little Lies were filmed. Famous chefs / mentors set to appear with Selena on the show include familiar faces to the kitchen, such as Adrienne Cheatham, Devonn Francis, Gordon Ramsay, Kristen Kish, Ludo Lefebvre, Matty Matheson, Nick DiGiovanni, Paola Velez, Priya Krishna, & Rachael Ray!

There are 2 very remarkable accomplishments for Selena + Chef:

1. The show launched in August 2020 for 10 seasons that were meant to connect audiences during a time of disconnection; streaming, food, & entertainment served as society’s escape from the pandemic. As a result, newcomers to the kitchen identified with Selena’s unfamiliarity with certain foods, skills, & utensils. Whether you were watching from the comfort of your couch or taking notes to recreate the dish yourself, everyone bonded as Selena learned to cook virtually with a variety of celebrity chefs.

2. As these celebrity chefs share their love of food & culture, a range of charities found a platform for awareness & “the series has raised $400,000” in donations to “26 nonprofit organizations,” according to People. As Selena cooks up some laughs & indulges in the spices & sweets, she’s shining a much-deserved spotlight on underprivileged communities, mental health issues, liked-minded foodies, & more!

Lastly, I’m most excited about 2 things this season: 1. Watching more of Selena’s kitchenware line Our Place x Selena, which includes 2 innovative, all-purpose items: a pan for always & a pot for always in 11 different colors! Now, that’s style! 2. What Selena wears in the kitchen!

As I’m preparing to return to the office after almost 2 1/2 weeks off, my mind is racing with style inspiration for what I’ll wear! Even though I’m not teaching again until the fall semester begins, there’s still plenty of opportunity to explore summer work style & that starts with a cute pair of navy flats!

I’d purchased very plain faux suede navy flats from Old Navy years ago, which were staples for anytime I needed a pop of the darker neutral to complete a mostly blue look for work. Eventually, those flats were worn out, but I did order another pair. However, I dreamt of more special navy flats, something with flare to rank with my assortment of patent leather, lace, snake embossed, bowed, jeweled, laser cut, & studded flats in other colors. Navy just never seemed to have its moment—until I found the Ollio faux suede decorative flower pointed toe ballet flats @Amazon ($29.99, available in sizes 6-10 & in 6 additional colors).

I have an 8 medium foot, so these fit me perfectly for work when wearing a blouse & dress pants, wrap dress & cardigan, or if I am attending a special daytime occasion, these coordinate well with any spring or cocktail-length dress needing a navy companion. Unfortunately, the flats are not available in wide & some half sizes.

As fall fashion starts to poke its fashionable head into retail windows, these flats, in addition to the other jewel-toned green & mustard options, are on my mind & remain in an all-year rotation. Living in Style: Stackable & Sophisticated Jewelry Trays from Target!

As Mission: Get Organized continues, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much, but still have a long way to go; however, I haven’t lost my motivation. Having a reliable, stylish system is key to maintaining home organization in my cloffice & it’s of the utmost importance for my ample fashion jewelry collection that I’ve gifted myself during my years as a blogger, in retail, & as a stylist.

Specifically, I have made efficient use of the Household Essentials 3pc stacking jewelry trays in seafoam @Target (on sale: $34.41), which are also available in graphite linen (on sale: $31.86) & black linen ($33.56).

Months ago, I purchased 2 of these online, not quite knowing how I’d use them since I already have a few other stacking trays & jewelry boxes, but I knew I’d need plenty of options. While the trays can store all types of jewelry in varying sizes, I selected only shorter pendant necklaces & drop earrings—although I have 2 more sets of trays on the way, which was an even sweeter deal after Target’s $10 off $50 Circle offer! I love the bright color, which matches perfectly with my cloffice, along with the soft linen fabric!

I appreciate how everything can be seen in each layer & once I can see all of my jewelry, I’ll create a better system in storing by metal (gold tone, silver tone, or rose tone) or bead color, along with type of earring (chandelier, beaded, dangle, threaders, etc.) or if a pair has multiples in different colors, which will be helpful when I know I want a certain type of earring or necklace in a specific metal.

For the final image, I’m unsure how I’ll use the ring space since I’d like to keep this tray solely for necklaces, but perhaps once I recover all of my necklace extenders, I’ll be able to keep them here as well.

Show Me the Shoes: $8 Sandals Going Fast!

Right now is the best time to shop for summer’s trendiest & most stylish pieces, from tops to dresses & shorts to accessories. It seems like everything is on sale everywhere & fall is just around the retail corner. Additionally, I was in a local Walmart Superstore today with my family when I came across a can’t-miss deal on Time & Tru’s multi-band slide sandal marked down to $8.00 from $14.98!

I tried on a pair, although I didn’t end up buying the great deal. They are comfortable & definitely soft, but I’m, personally, not a fan of slides. However, I’d definitely recommend these to coordinate with a multitude of stylish summer looks, including a tee & pair of shorts, print Ed romper, headed to the beach with a sarong, maxi or midi dress, & button-down with cropped jeans.

I’m a fan of the color variety here, especially when a mint shoe isn’t usually a choice. However, I’d recommend checking your local Walmart stores for the color(s) & size you need since online availability is limited.

I can’t wait for the return of Ted Lasso! I didn’t expect to enjoy the show at all, but I knew it earned rave reviews & loads of awards over the last 2ish years; however, aside from the mega-talented cast & heartwarming core to all the show’s hilarity, Emmy-winner Hannah Waddingham, who plays the staggeringly chic Rebecca Welton, puts all other fashionable characters of television to shame!

Rebecca is a boss. She dresses like a corporate princess with an unlimited budget. Her penchant for silk blouses, bodycon dresses, feminine meets masculine inspiration, & fabulous accessories deserve a show of their own! When considering accessories for vacation, I keep it super minimal, especially since it’s a hot summer week & I’m vacationing with a toddler to toddler-friendly places. That’s not to say I can’t do it in style, but I bring 2 bags, a few neutral sandals, 1 hat, 1 pair of sunglasses, & the most neutral earrings sets. The only other jewelry I wear is my wedding ring. We’re not planning on any fancy dining, so I just keep it mom-chic. Since we’re away for only 4 days & I have 5 piercings in each ear, I typically stack up on the earrings to avoid the discomfort of a necklace or bracelet on my skin.

Basics for a Bargain: The Only Sleeveless Linen-Blend Top You’ll Ever Need!

A major heatwave hit Long Island recently, which is likely to happen again this summer, but that means that it’s imperative to stay cool! Wearing heavy materials that don’t breathe will make any outdoor time more oppressive. However, relying on linen & chambray materials will offer a fashionable & refreshing take on summer style. Specifically, Time & Tru’s core tank top @Walmart ($11.98) is a must-have for a casual Friday, to pair with shorts of any length, palazzo pants, or a maxi skirt. It’s available in 8 styles, including a stripe in black, rainbow, sandstone, & sunflower, along with solids blues in medium wash & vintage bleached, as well as tie-dye indigo & sea turtle, with varying availability in sizes XS-3XL.

I bought & am satisfied with the black & rainbow stripes, plus the medium wash tops. They’re easy breezy, though on the shapeless side, but that’s more than ideal for a fitted bottom. I was hoping to pack them for our family vacation this week, but they arrived wrinkly & I did not want to have to iron or steam while away. Overall, it would be a great top to travel in to start a vacation, when heading to a farmer’s market, or gathering for a weekend brunch.

The slide sandal comes in a flat, kitten heel, block heel, and even platform with an array of details including the material, such as leather or faux leather, basket weaving, or a jelly. However, if you are still in the market for comfortable, it’s stylish black knotted slides, don’t break the bank! You might find inspiration from designer label slides, but obtaining the look on a budget for your next backyard gathering, weekend chore, maxi dress & tote bag combo, or day at the beach in a romper is possible!

Living in Style: The Plushest Cloffice Rug!

For the last 2 years, my head has been filled with fantasies of my dream cloffice, where I’d blog from each day & gather my stylish thoughts. Finally, my dreams are becoming a reality, especially as boxes & bins are unpacked & organized, making space on the floor for a plush, white round rug, befitting of a fashionable movie montage sequence!

I purchased the Amdrebio 6×6 round rug in white @Amazon ($43.88) ages ago & it’s finally set up—&still available for purchase!

While it’s seemingly advertised for a children’s play space or dorming, it adds the perfectly posh & polished touch to my stylish space, merging that bright pop of white to contrast the dark floors, my glossy turquoise walls, & the array of patterns in my wardrobe, as seen below:
