For the article she wrote, as told to Rob Haskill, Serena reflects on her career, women’s equality in sports, being her sister Venus’ shadow growing up, the challenges & joys of motherhood, future professional endeavors, & all of her fears as she moves forward into the next chapter of her life.

The 20-year-old redhead is the face of FASHION magazine’s September issue, speaking to the article‘s author, Annika Lautens, about her journey to stardom starting out in regional theater in Houston with her brother, along with learning from colleagues, like Taylor Swift & Helen Mirren.

In the article “B Ready: Beyoncé Is Poised For Her Next Evolution” by Edward Enninful with glamorously hip & edgy photographs by Rafael Pavarotti, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter ignites the internet with the news of her forthcoming album Renaissance, which will be released on July 29th.

The shoot includes gorgeous looks featuring pieces from legendary & daring names, such as: Alaia, Schiaparelli Haute Couture, Harris Reed & Roker, Tiffany & Co., Junya Watanabe, Lorraine Schwartz, Malakai, Vivienne H. I. Love. Emma. Stone. My nose is glued to the screen whenever Emma Stone is promoting a film & has countless red carpet premieres to attend. She’s not only an iconic fashion chameleon, but her all-around girl-next-door goofball vibes makes me feel like we really could be best friends. I’m obsessed with her sense of style & will almost always vote her best dressed, no matter the competition. So, when it came to seeking out what she’s been up to, I was super excited that she was Marie Claire’s September cover star. Emma’s currently promoting her new film, Battle of the Sexes, all about tennis-legend Billie Jean King in 1973 & co-starring Steve Carrell, Emma’s Crazy, Stupid Love on-screen dad, who plays her rival, Bobby Riggs.

The interview for Marie Claire is conducted by funny lady Sarah Silverman, who has a girl crush on Emma that reads quite equal to mine, where Emma discusses the power each of our voices have in times of controversy & political uprising, but also the challenges that the Oscar-winning actress (for of course, La La Land) faced when becoming Billie Jean King for the new film.

The photo shoot (led by Greg Kadel) includes Emma wearing some gorgeous pieces from Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Bulgari, to name a few!

Cover Craze: Amy Schumer Conquers Vogue’s July Issue!

For no real, legit, justified reason at all, I was hesitant to jump on the Amy Schumer-loving bandwagon. In retrospect, the thought of it now is insane because I’m all about strong, confident, smart women who have a lot to say & say it well. Since I’m not a Comedy Central watcher (perhaps another flaw I should seek to rectify?), I didn’t know what Inside Amy Schumer was for the longest time. My first exposure to the Long Island native & comedy pioneer (shame on me as a fellow LI gal!) was during that one scene on HBO’s Girls during the season 3 premiere when she yells at Hannah & Adam at Grumpy’s after Adam broke it off badly with Shiri Appleby’s practically perfect catch character, Natalia. I love everything that Amy Schumer is about & I can’t wait to read her book, The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo (read an excerpt here), which hits bookshelves on August 16th. It’ll fit in perfectly with my summer of humor reading by female authors, but what’s really the best of both worlds is that Amy is July’s cover girl for Vogue!

Cover Craze: Single Lady Katie Holmes Sizzles on Elle!

The gossip columns were on overload this past week when actress Katie Holmes announced to the public that she was divorcing husband of five years, Tom Cruise.  However, it’s clear that the world is on Katie’s side, especially since she looks better than ever on the August 2012 cover of Elle & isn’t letting anyone or anything get in the way of her independence. 

That’s to Facebook updates, I learned that the Dawson’s Creek star even made an appearance as a guest judge during a taping last week for the latest season of Project Runway: All Stars. I haven’t received my issue of this magazine yet, but when I saw these images circulating online- clad with blunt bangs, menswear-inspiration, & the long-missed glitz & glamour that the star hasn’t revealed in a long time- I knew I had to share them with readers.  What do you think of this next chapter for Katie?
