January isn’t even over yet, but there’s major buzz surrounding the upcoming March 2013 covers of the most popular fashion magazines, which is why I’ve updated Cover Craze. I guess this is natural, considering all the talk about spring fashion, upcoming films this year, & throngs of celebrities about to hit the red carpet for the Oscars. I’m sure there’s more to come since I haven’t seen what’s in store yet for Harper’s Bazaar, Shape, Self, Redbook, Marie Claire, Allure, or Elle in March.

The always stunning Dakota Fanning covers Glamour in a cute Mickey Mouse sweater, discussing the controversy behind her 2011 ad campaign for Marc Jacobs‘ fragrance Oh, Lola! Next, it seems that Lucky gets Lauren Conrad on their cover at least once a year & March is all about the designer behind Paper Crown & LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, who always gets the cat-eye right & talks about how she maintains her sleek straight locks. New mom Megan Fox takes on Marie Claire UK in a printed one-piece, opening up about her marriage, motherhood, & about her next career move.

Miley Cyrus has once again proved that she’s not a little girl anymore on the cover of Cosmopolitan, revealing more than just her cleavage. She talks about her latest album, being friends with Katy Perry, & prioritizing her relationship with her fiancé. The stunning co-stars of Oz: The Great & Powerful, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, & Mila Kunis, share the cover of InStyle in romantic pastel looks, as we anticipate at least three upcoming red carpet premieres for the fantasy Disney film. Runway Rundown: Christian Siriano Launches ‘Striking,’ A Spring Series Collection For HSN!

Accessing luxury designers has just got a little easier! Project Runway winner Christian Siriano is expanding his mainstream fashion palette beyond a shoe collection for Payless with a new collaboration for HSN called Striking. The collection features dresses & separates priced between $80.00 – $170.00, which will debut on air on February 22nd. Siriano discussed his inspiration for the line with InStyle, saying that he wanted women to feel “striking & beautiful” in his designs, adding that “the collection is romantic, powerful, and of course, glamorous because that is how I love women to feel when they get dressed.”

As for the opportunity to share his work with HSN & the HSN shopper “This is runway style that is accessible with a wide variety of styles that can be worn every day, at any age… It’s great thing for any designer to be able to explain the process of their work in front of any customer… I think when you have a face and a heart behind a brand to support it then it’s much more powerful. Not only is she this weekend’s Super Bowl halftime act & hitting the small screen for an upcoming documentary on HBO, but she’s recently shot an ad for her latest fragrance, Pulse NYC, inspired by her new hometown with a Gotham City-inspired bottle. The multi-talented singer has focused this scent on a woman who is “impossible to ignore, exuding sensuality & strength.” ELLE‘s Joe Zee styled the shoot, sharing metallic wardrobe pieces that resembling the mirrored buildings of the New York City.

Not only is she returning as the face of Ann Taylor, working on her debut capsule collection for the store, & has recently appeared as a recurring character on Glee, but she’s also continuing her role as spokesmodel for cosmetics giant, Almay. Courtesy of InStyle, I was able to find behind-the-scenes images of Kate in action, showing off her beautiful features with Almay’s Intense i-Color Shimmer Eyeshadow ($6.00) in Bold Nudes, which is available @Ulta. This color trio is also available in blue, hazel, & green shades to match with your eye color.

It was only a few days ago that I shared a gallery of Lauren Conrad‘s Spring 2013 Collection for Kohl’s, featuring classic separates, feminine pops of color, & spring-ready dresses for a date; however the former reality star has also created a fabulous Spring 2013 line for her luxury brand, Paper Crown. The combination of belted & minimalist maxi dresses, luxe button-downs with chiffon accents, leather leggings paired with oversized matte sequins, & timeless pieces for day, date, & the office offers a variety to mix & match with any wardrobe. Of course, Lauren’s ladylike prepster style will resonate with the J. Crew / Banana Republic / Lulu’s shopper & I’m crazy about the details like cream lace, soft bows, a relaxed fit.

The $100 Challenge: Pastels, Polka Dots, & Pops Of Color!

I’ve been up to earrings in fashion news lately, but I’ve definitely wanted to spend more time focusing on shopping tips for an affordably fashionable spring & that starts with pastel & neon jeans. I’ve yet to find a pair that works for me since I’m a little self-conscious about wearing the lighter & brighter hues on my curvier lower half, but the search isn’t over yet. One example that I need to pursue is the 1969 neon always skinny skimmer jeans ($21.99) in neon violet from Gap, which are also available in neon mint green. What I love about these is that they’re available in sizes 4-20.

I didn’t want to play down the fun color in the jeans, which is why I picked out the jumbo polka dot print shirt ($13.50) from Forever 21 & the ribbon & jewel bodyshaper tank ($8.00) in heather grey from New York & Company. Both pieces are perfect for mixing & layering with other basics like a pencil skirt, boyfriend jeans, or leggings.

For this look, I wanted to create a fashionable day outfit for any season, but with an extra punch of femininity & polish, which is why I picked Payless‘ Lower East Side Chelsea flat ($16.99) in black glitter. Also, I picked these shoes since I know that they’re super comfortable b/c I own the gold version. They’re perfect for wearing a demure LBD with opaque tights, or casually with leather shorts & a crisp white shirt. Additional accessories include the Mudd Kara triple-zip cross body bag ($23.80) in lemon from Kohl’s, carved roses Parisian charm necklace ($8.50) from Claire’s, & Forever 21‘s lacquered rhinestone studs ($3.80).

Accessories Access: Stay In Style With Studs From Forever 21!

In my last post for Accessories Access, I featured some super fancy drop earrings in red & blue, but time & time again, I love to share my obsession with stud earrings. Maybe it’s my long hair, the fact that I wear glasses, or love to accessorize my looks with hairclips or headbands, but I just don’t feel that for my style, oversized drop earrings are my thing.

However, I was surfing around on my iPhone’s apps, which included Forever 21 & I started browsing for jewelry, which is the inspiration for this latest post. The spring bloom cluster studs ($5.80) in cream/pink are dainty & delicate to match with a pastel sweater dress or to dress up a turtleneck with skinny jeans. For bow-lovers out there, the lacquered bow studs ($3.80) in black/gold are perfect for any office look, date night, or casual day with the girls. Also, I love the color combination in the multi-colored rhinestone studs ($2.80) in aqua/mint, which will pick up nicely for any floral jeans look with a striped top. Lately, I’ve been feeling a Parisian inspiration & just adore the Eiffel Tower studs ($3.80) in dark grey, which are also available in clear/antique gold.

In addition, I’m loving some of the vintage-inspired details on these studs, including the bejeweled faux stone earrings ($4.80) in mint/gold. I’m always a fan of daisies in unexpected ways, which is why I selected the flowered heart studs ($3.80) in black/clear & I’d wear these for virtually any occasion with other feminine shapes for my other ear piercings. The sparkling pearlescent flower studs ($3.80) in pink/gold contain the best of so many details including rhinestones for sparkle, pearls for that demure sophistication, & a lacquered surface for any contemporary look. Flowers & bows aren’t the only shapes getting jeweled attention these days, which is why I picked the trendy metallic pyramid studs ($3.80) in pink, which are also available in lavender/dark gray & clear/silver.

In this latest Red Carpet Review post, we’re one step closer to rounding out this year’s awards season with the red carpet looks from tonight’s 2013 Screen Actors Guild Awards. The ceremony is currently airing & there’s so much movie news to report, however some of the hottest & most-talked-about celebrities have made a splash in couture, following the runway trends, including black gowns (like what we saw at the Golden Globes) on Anne Hathaway (in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture), Elisabeth Moss (in Dolce & Gabbana), Naya Rivera (in Donna Karan), Michelle Dockery (in Chado Ralph Rucci), Tina Fey (in Oscar de la Renta), Jaimie Alexander (in Marc Bouwer) & Kelly Osbourne (in Jenny Packham).

Also, side parts for hair are big, as seen on Jessica Chastain (in Alexander McQueen), Katrina Bowden (in Badgley Mischka), & Naomi Watts (in Marchesa). Colors of the night that popped were pretty pinks & purples on Lea Michele (in Valentino), Nina Dobrev (in Elie Saab), Freida Pinto (in Roland Mouret), & Sally Field (in J. Mendel).

There was a classic & regal combination of blue & navy hues hit the red carpet with Amanda Seyfried (in Zac Posen), Jordin Sparks, Nicole Kidman (in Vivienne Westwood), Jennifer Lawrence (in Christian Dior Haute Couture), Giuliana Rancic (in Max Azria Atelier), & Edie Flaco (in Chagoury).

Lastly, colorblocking & mixed tones in black & white were a hit, featured on Claire Danes (in Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci), January Jones (in Prabal Gurung), Julianna Margulies, & Julianne Moore (in Chanel Haute Couture).

Ad Madness: Kate Hudson Returns As Model For Ann Taylor & Will Be Designing A Celebrity Capsule Collection!

Last year, I shared images from Kate Hudson‘s campaigns as a spokesmodel for Ann Taylor, once in July & another time in March. It seems that the success of her face for the brand has led to yet another opportunity to sport the latest spring duds, as well as inspire the Oscar-nominated actress to collaborate in designing the first ever celebrity capsule collection for Ann Taylor, which will hit stores this summer. Kate tells InStyle, “Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience and there is a really wonderful connection… Putting these outfits together has been incredibly fun—they have such youthful energy and flair!“

While the spring looks are all things feminine, crisp, & sophisticated, I’m excited that the new collaboration will be inspired by Kate’s very fabulous red carpet style, but reinterpreted for everyday occasions. Runway Rundown: A First Look At LC Lauren Conrad’s Latest Spring Collection For Kohl’s!

I’ve been featuring a whole lot of high-end luxury fashion lately in Runway Rundown, but I haven’t forgotten about my style-on-a-budget roots, which is why I wanted to feature the lookbook from LC Lauren Conrad‘s Kohl’s Collection. I love Lauren’s red carpet style, which I’ve featured in previous posts including her sweater dress look, leather dress by Johanna Johnson, lovely yellow Yoana Baraschi frock, summer-ready maxi dress, & a classic round toe pump look.

What I love about Lauren’s collection is not only its affordability, but that her pieces are so accessible for the average shopper. The collection, which debuts in stores next month, includes classic shapes & patterns like polka dots in navy & white or black & white, floral jeans, bow & lace details, timeless blouses, & figure-flattering separates. In addition, the line includes adorable mary jane shoes, platform pumps, & scalloped flats, all of which can be mixed up for day, the office, night, & weekend looks. There’s nothing stuffy, pretentious, unwearable, or unrealistic about this collection & I can’t wait to use my next round of Kohl’s coupons on these pieces!

Retailers are still in that transition period between seasons, which means that it’s the perfect time to get your hands, or feet in this case, on clearance deals on shoe. More specifically, Nine West is clearing out their online shelves with deals up to 70% off on a sale shoes. These prices are perfect for wearing the redt of the winter, preparing for this coming spring / summer, & even wearing on an upcoming vacation.

I picked the Leggy wedge ($39.99) in camel multi leopard, which is perfect to match with a belted neutral shirt dress or with your favorite denim shorts & blouse. The Heartbeat pumps ($39.99) in purple are essential for upgrading any office look- not to mention, they’re also available in blue. I featured the Love Fury ($39.99) pumps in a post last year in Black Friday Sale Update, but in red, however both pairs are now reduced from their original $89.00 price. Lastly, since I’m a sucker for animal print & ankle booties, I just had to include the Haywire booties ($39.99) in natural multi pony, which are probably the best deal I’ve seen on the Nine West site since they’ve been marked down from $129.00!

Watch This Style: Vignette Videos From Emmy Rossum’s ‘Sentimental Journey’ Featuring Vintage American Standards!

While I was doing online research for Emmy Rossum‘s Self magazine shoot, I was intrusted to learn more about her music career & the debut of her American standards cover album, Sentimental Journey. Once I came across these vignettes from the album of “Nobody Knows You (When You’re Down & Out)” & “These Foolish Things (Remind Me Of You),” I instantly fell in love with Emmy’s sound & The Artist-inspired look in both videos. I’m considering the slinky & luxe look of slipdresses, decadent chandelier earrings, feathered trims, & t-strap heels.

Not only is Emmy’s voice pitch perfect, but she solidifies her stunning talent with what I’d like to call her most artistically significant work to date. Of course, she can also be seen in the upcoming film, Beautiful Creatures, & Showtime’s Shameless, but these are must-see videos! Happy Styling!

Mixing & matching printed separates isn’t necessarily an innovative idea, especially when you look in the pages of today’s hottest fashion magazines, but when designer Rachel Roy does it, there’s something refreshing, cool, young, & modern. This is evident in her Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which features plenty of matching separates, gorgeous outerwear, menswear inspiration, as well as some chic quirkiness, which isn’t always easy to find when considering high-end luxury fashion. There is an abundance of possiblity within the line, which thrives on a variety of trends, including leather, colorblocking, head-to-toe graphic prints, wide-leg pants, & sophisticated knitwear. These details are sure to attract fans of the brand including Freida Pinto, Viola Davis, Zoe Saldana, Cameron Diaz, Olivia Palermo, & Gwyneth Paltrow.

Basics For A Bargain: Monochromatic Looks To Brighten Up Any Season, Wardrobe, & Budget!

It’s not often that I wear monochromatic looks, but when I do, it’s usually either black or gray. These are go-to colors that I know I can always mix & match with each other, especially when I’m headed to work & am looking for something chic & fluid to wear. I was inspired by monochrome outfits during my last photo shoot of pictures of myself to post on Style Darling (see the all-green sweater & pants look, for example).

Since I started covering Runway Rundown here, I noticed the dominance of monochromatic designs, especially for the 2013 runways. This includes Calvin Klein Collection with a multi-textural caramel look, Michael Kors‘ lemon yellow duds, Elie Saab‘s cobalt crush, Salvatore Ferragamo using neutral beige, Christopher Kane‘s all-white ensemble, Bottega Veneta‘s brick menswear-inspiration, & BCBG Max Azria‘s flowing black separates.

Taking a cue from the runways, there have been plenty of color-on-color red carpet apperances. Celebrities who’ve donned monochromatic looks include Michelle Williams who attended the New York Times Arts & Leisure Weekend event in head-to-toe black with a belted mini, tights, & suede booties. Fashion icon Alexa Chung breaks up her nearly-monochromatic look in an oxblood turtleneck by Versus & leather zip-up mini with lasercut flats. Country songstress Taylor Swift went for a more mature look in a custom-made all-white suit by J. Mendel at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards. Victoria Beckham looks nothing short of amazing in her nude sheath dress design with Brian Atwood pumps. Lastly, back in 2009, Penelope Cruz dazzles in a three-piece scarlett suit by Bottega Veneta at the London premiere of Broken Embraces with two-tone strappy sandals.

Now that we’ve seen what’s going on inside the pages of our favorite magazines & who’s wearing what on the runways, I wanted to show how anyone can wear a monochromatic look without breaking your budget. What’s great about finding identical tones is the crisp & clean look that it creates & that’s where you can have fun with accessorizing with a sparkling scarf, baubled cocktail rings, bib necklaces, embossed handbags, & so on. In these looks, I have included at least one accessory, but it’s simply a suggestion & option to really bring the look together & in most cases (except for the teal look) still fits within budget.

First, I’ve been thinking about coral, ever since a post from The $100 Challenge where I featured a coral dress for the holidays, but I just love the softness of the color, which is perfect for any skintone. It instantly adds some natural rosiness to your cheeks & always looks feminine. The studded Peter Pan collar shirt ($22.80) from Forever 21 already has some built-in detail with the gold that helps frame your face. This matches perfectly with Target‘s Mossimo ankle pant ($27.99) & the sueded uber platform pumps ($12.50) from Charlotte Russe, which have just been reduced from their original $32.50 price. Lastly, I fell in love with the art deco-inspired spike triangle earrings ($8.77) from ASOS, which add a rose gold luxury to such a relaxed, yet sophisticated outfit. Also, if you want to break up these pieces to create a trendy or unexpected look, mix things up with dark denim skinnies, cap toe ballet flats, a silk boyfriend blazer, or metallic belt.

I’ve also been seeing a neon opportunity for your wardrobe for quite some time now. Of course, this color is to be worn confidently & with caution. We all want to look so good we stop traffic, but this look with highlighter yellow or electric lime tones could almost guarantee such a result. It all started with the a.n.a. perfect skinny corduroy pants ($17.00) from JC Penney that I spotted sometime before the holidays, but now they’re marked down & I’m excited to see how these might be worn for the rest of the winter & into spring. I paired these with the boatneck banded bottom tee ($29.90) from Express & Forever 21‘s faux suede pumps ($29.80). While any gold, white lacquered, or lucite jewelry will enhance this look, Alloy‘s Zahara neon necklace ($19.90) was just irresistible, thanks to a search on ShopStyle for matching accessories. Also, for more ideas on how to wear these pieces, consider other neutrals like charcoal, black, & navy, as well as classic patterns like polka dots, houndstooth, & plaid.

I found myself a little troubled when looking for coordinating pieces for my teal ensemble- ones that wouldn’t make me go over budget, but… I did. Sometimes that happens when you find absolutely must-have pieces. I just adore this color (on me!) & think it’s a bold way to reinterpret greens & blues since it falls so beautifully in the middle. While checking out the newest arrivals @New York & Company, I found the satiny pleated from belted blouse ($29.95), which instantly made me think to find a skirt. Then the Grace Elements teal skirt with yoke ($24.99) from Loehmann’s was a perfect fit, especially if you’re trying to refresh your work wardrobe. For an extra fun touch, @Steve Madden, the Intrude pumps ($34.99) are just what this look needed to add some texture & despite the myth of material, these can be worn any time of the year. Finally, the Croft & Barrow jet bead hoop drop earrings ($12.00) from Kohl’s put the look just a bit over $100, but you can always keep this affordable by wearing favorites that you may already own like diamond stud earrings or something in silver.

My final look goes out to my plus-size Style Darlings because I think a berry tone is perfect for any shape & any woman. I shopped Wet Seal‘s plus section to find the 3/4 sleeve belted blouse ($18.99) on sale, which comes with a detachable belt, perfect for wearing over a cardigan or jersey dress to help enhance your curves. To keep this look balanced & figure-flattering, the roz & ALI stretch colored jeggings ($19.99) from Dress Barn helped complete the bottom half, especially since they’re available in sizes 14-24. I found the Rocket Dog Monica flat ($24.94) @DSW, which would also help dress down a shirt dress, work if paired with a denim skirt & sweater, or contrast a ruffled blouse & dolman top. My final piece to this looks is the neon metallic teardrop earring ($5.80) from Forever 21, which would sparkle for a date night in an LBD or look cute with a mod shift dress.

Runway Rundown: Calvin Klein’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

You’d think that after a while that all of the Pre-Fall 2013 Collections look the same, but this is false, especially when you consider the latest designs by Calvin Klein Collection. In light of the recent Presidential Inauguration, I’ve been giving a lot of thought to American designers & Calvin Klein is a name that stands the test of time. So many celebrities continue to wear his designs, including Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain, The Lucky One actress Taylor Schilling, Gwyneth Paltrow, former Grey’s Anatomy star Nora Zehetner, Emily Blunt, Sarah Jessica Parker, & Jennifer Lawrence!

My favorite part of this line is the mixture of outerwear in different textures, as well as the menswear-inspired belts over a majority of the looks. Using leather, wool, faux fur, & jersey has made this a versatile collection that will surely draw more celebrity fans. Cover Craze: Emmy Rossum Is Self’s February 2013 Cover Girl!

Emmy Rossum isn’t just a pretty face, but the talented Shameless actress already has a Golden Globe nomination under her belt for her performance in 2004’s Phantom of the Opera. In addition, the trained singer is currently promoting her debut record, Sentimental Journey, featuring covers of oldies from the 1920s-1960s. As the latest cover girls for Self magazine, the multi-faceted New York native talks about her music project, which hits stores on January 29th, as well as her tricks to staying fit & healthy.

During the shoot, Emmy frolics outdoors on inflatable furniture in bright & flirty frocks that we’d love to be wearing right now at the end of this cold January. Designers for the shoot include Ralph Lauren Black Collection, Jill Stuart, Milly, Kate Spade, & accessories by Courtney Lee Collection. One of the most famous & well-known designers is Diane von Furstenberg. Everytime I hear about her, or see her on TV, I’m more & more interested in her designs, especially since her timeless love of prints keeps getting better. Her designs speak to women of every age & even after her recent appearance as a guest judge on the recently ended season 2 of Project Runway All Stars, I think she’s one of the most intelligent & diplomatic voices in fashion. With her latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, there’s plenty of color, print, femininity, & sophistication in the dresses, separates, outerwear, & accessories.

Watch This Style: A Juicy Preview To Tonight’s ‘Project Runway Season 11: Teams’ Premiere!

I remember the day when you’d have to wait months for the next season of Project Runway, but it was only last week when the 2nd season of Project Runway All Stars crowned Anthony Ryan Auld as its winner & now the real competition with newcomers begins tonight with Season 11. The twist is that the designers will be working in teams for every challenge, which has drama & disaster written all over it! Judge Michael Kors is out & Zac Posen is filling in Kors’ black-blazer-wearing seat! You can count on more LOL moments from judges Heidi Klum & Nina Garcia‘s critiques, & also worry right alongside mentor, Tim Gunn.

After so many posts today, I almost wasn’t going to feature this video promo of the new season & tonight’s premiere episode, but then I watched it! We’ll be seeing Season 4 winner, Christian Siriano, as tonight’s guest judge & throughout the season, we’ll get to hear from Kristin Davis, Susan Sarandon, Miranda Lambert, & Emmy Rossum, to name a few.

The 37-year-old has proven time & time again that she’s an unstoppable force who always puts her kids first & discusses with the magazine how she never backs down from a challenge, craves Big Macs with fries, & even spills some of the latest secrets from the upcoming season of Project Runway.

The shoot includes some sleek all-black looks including pieces by Tom Ford, Lanvin, Dior, Louis Vuitton, H. Red Carpet Review / Runway Rundown: Style Darling’s Top 20 Best Oscar-Worthy Gown Predictions!

We’re less than a month away from the 2013 Academy Awards & the SAG Awards are this weekend! The speculation behind the results inside those envelopes & what the nominees are going to wear have been bouncing around all over the web & for the first time, I’m going to share my fashion predictions, based off the Pre-Fall 2013, Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, Spring 2013 Haute Couture, & Resort 2013 collection runways. Of course, Oscar-nominated celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams & Naomi Watts are subject to one-of-a-kind custom-made haute couture gowns, but it’s been a lot of fun to click around & find the most gorgeous gowns that wowed on the runway. In addition to the nominees who are celebrating their achievements in film, possible presenters like Rachel Weisz, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner & more will be turning heads on the red carpet.

Surely there will be lots of glitz & glamour, but predictions of trends are hard to tell. There was so much going on at this year’s Golden Globes, including black, black & gold, white, pink, long sleeves, cut-outs, high slits, & nude illusions. Starting off is a gold lamé & embellished gown from Michael Kors Resort 2013 Collection, which was recently featured in a Runway Rundown post. From Carlos Miele‘s Resort 2013 Collection comes this beautiful embellished sweetheart gown with an animal print under-lining. Some might call the white & black-leather accented Emilio Pucci dress from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection is too safe for the Oscars, but I think it’s a modern & refreshing take on a white gown.

For the risk-taking Style Darling, I can see the metallic long-sleeved gown from Monique Lhuillier‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection making an entrance on the red carpet. I picked this tangerine Jenny Packham Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection gown b/c of its unexpected color, but on the right skin-tone, it will certainly set some trends on the red carpet for the rest of the year.

Next, we have a floral-embroidered belted gown by Temperley London, which was featured in the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection. This has a very classic, Zooey Deschanel look to it, which is why I loved including it! Badgley Mischka is a name synonymous with red carpets & perhaps we’ll see this all-over embellished metallic gown from their Pre-Fall 2013 Collection on one of the front-running Oscar nominees. One of my favorite designers forever & always is Marchesa & I wasn’t surprised to see so many red carpet candidates in their Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection, including this sari-inspired sheer-overlay blue & gold confection.

I love the feminine softness from the short-sleeved Collette Dinnigan gown from the Resort 2013 Collection. The coral / fuchsia hue is perfect for an ingénue like the ever-changing Dakota Fanning or the retro Krysten Ritter. Roberto Cavalli‘s black sequined & lace overlay corset-structured gown is a stunning choice for a more dramatic look on the red carpet & it’s from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection.

Designs by Alexandre Vauthier made a style statement at the Golden Globes since both supermodel Heidi Klum & Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery both donned looks, but I picked this leg-baring halter gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. J. Mendel‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection was a dreamy mixture of texture, detail, flowy fabrics, & strong silhouettes, including this lace-accented spaghetti strap gown with off-the-shoulder tiers. Also, Giambattista Valli‘s white & gold ball gown took my breath away from its Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection & would certainly wow fashion critics if worn on Isla Fisher, Julianne Hough, or Kerry Washington.

There ought to be room on any red carpet for a Valentino red gown, like this strapless & effortless gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. Also, Christian Dior‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection featured the pink puffy mermaid ball gown. In addition, someone like Diane Kruger or Zoe Saldana can wear an floral-embellished, dramatic gown like this from Elie Saab‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection.

After Lucy Liu‘s splash at the Globes in Carolina Herrera, I knew I had to look further into her Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which included this gorgeous black & white graphic print gown, perfect for fans of the label including Renee Zellweger, Emmy Rossum, or Olivia Wilde. Next, from Oscar de la Renta‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, this aqua tiered dream of a gown is borderline bridesmaid, but the color is just so pretty & it reminds me of the Romona Keveza ball gown that Kaley Cuoco wore at last year’s SAG Awards.

You can’t have a look at the best from the runway without talking about American designer, Zac Posen, & his Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which is a dramatic statement that will change the way black gowns appear on the red carpet. Lastly, a daring look for the Oscars comes from Jason Wu‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection & perhaps a young starlet like Emma Watson would wear this will some extra lining to fill the skirt since the ceremony is so formal.

For a number of years, as I’ve been studying fashion, trying to become fluent in designers’ signatures, I was always able to recognize the structure behind a Narciso Rodriguez design. After a successful capsule collection for Kohl’s, the designer has revealed his Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, featuring a modern mix of minimalist structure, luxe leather, contemporary colorblocking, & plenty of menswear-inspiration. Fans of the brand include Jessica Alba, Claire Danes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Emma Roberts, & Reese Witherspoon.

I’ve been a subscriber to Allure magazine for a long time now & even though I don’t consider myself a beauty guru, I’ve learned a lot about makeup tricks, how to take care of your skin, & ways to improve your beauty regiment on a budget from the pages within. Just a few days ago I received the February 2013 issue of Allure with my favorite country-singing Style Darling on the cover, Carrie Underwood. I love that she’s always a lady & never tries to look like anything she’s not. In the pages of the magazine, she talks about how her look has evolved during her career, her self-confidence, & how she keeps up with a busy touring schedule.

Runway Rundown: The Finale Runway Looks From Season 2 Of Project Runway All Stars!

It’s been almost a week since the season finale of Project Runway All Stars, where Season 9 designer & fan favorite, Anthony Ryan Auld, was crowned the winner, ahead of Uli Herzner & Emilio Sosa. Even though Uli was my personal favorite, I was very happy to see Anthony Ryan receive the accolade that he deserves. Courtesy of My Lifetime, I’m sharing a gallery of the final runway, featuring Anthony Ryan’s “Fine Line” looks first, followed by Emilio’s “Urban Plantation,” & lastly with Uli’s “Winter Wonderland.” This was one of the most exciting episodes of the season & I loved watching judges model Carolyn Murphy, Marchesa co-founder & designer Georgina Chapman, & American icon Isaac Mizrahi, sit with guest judges actress Liv Tyler & Missoni heir, Margherita Missoni.
