Show Me the Shoes: Pretty in Pink Flats!

In its fairest shade, pink is a neutral, perfect for matching up with nearly any spring, summer, or fall outfit. I myself do love a rose gold flat with some black tights, if the look demands it, in the winter too! And why shouldn’t a blush shoe be a neutral? It works very well for the upcoming fall season as well with a slew of hues, including navy, chocolate, olive, charcoal, burgundy, cobalt, mustard, hunter green, & so many more!

With all that build up, it’s no surprise that the pretty pink flats I’m featuring are not only pretty & pink, but also, they’re versatile considering their texture & design. I’ve never been a huge fan of the pink family, but over the years, my heart has started to skip a stylish beat when I see some rose gold jewelry. That’s extended into eyeshadow & accessories like shoes & belts too. However, for fall, take a look at these dressy, luxe, & feminine designs @Charlotte Russe to inspire a pop of pink where you might not have previously.

SHOP: rose gold ponty toe flats, ankle strap patent flats, ruffle velvet flats, & bowed d’Orasay flats @Charlotte Russe.

Splurge of Save… On Light Blue Suede Ankle Strap Sandals for Spring!

My goal, as of late, when it comes to my everyday outfits and sharing style tips on Style Darling Daily, is try something new. This includes combinations of separates that I hadn’t thought of previously, as well as only investing in special new additions that not only stand apart from other items I already own, but will also serve multiple purposes. I’ve realized that in the past, I’ve sought out dresses, shoes, & more that thrill me in the moment to add to my wardrobe, without considering their need in the long run. In order to better maintain my closet & finances, I’m being much more careful about how I approach styling.

With that, spring is underway & I’m trying to break away from my usual all-black or only black & white routine. Spring is all about soft, light colors, embracing pastels & brighter hues like nobody’s business. When I was recently perusing through my daily barrage of emails from my favorite stores, I saw a shoe trend that I just couldn’t stop thinking about. Normally, I’m not a trend chaser, sticking to what’s classic & works for my specific body type & daily needs. Ankle strap sandals have always been a little tricky. I haven’t been able to find a comfortable pair in recent years, though I’ve written much about the sleek & delicate style (here), but when I saw that so many different designers & retailers were pitching light blue suede ankle strap sandals for spring, my mind was racing with all the styling possibilities—with dresses, pencil skirts, cropped jeans, & so many more!

It doesn’t hurt to have a little celebirty inspiration when it comes to this particular shoe style, showing all the different colors & ways to wear them. This includes German starlet Diane Kruger, supermodel Kendall Jenner, Oscar-winner Emma Stone, blogger / actress Ashley MadekweOrange Is The New Black star Taylor Schilling, & pop star Rihanna

We all have different styling expectations & budgets, which is why I wanted to share the six above pairs of shoes, ranging in price from $21 – $400, including some very well-known, quality brands, as well as more affordable options to try this spring for a weekend brunch, Easter with the family, or a fashionable date night look.

Show Me The Shoes: Up To 70% Off Clearance Shoes @Nine West!

Retailers are still in that transition period between seasons, which means that it’s the perfect time to get your hands, or feet in this case, on clearance deals on shoe. More specifically, Nine West is clearing out their online shelves with deals up to 70% off on a sale shoes. These prices are perfect for wearing the redt of the winter, preparing for this coming spring / summer, & even wearing on an upcoming vacation.

Nine West

I picked the Leggy wedge ($39.99) in camel multi leopard, which is perfect to match with a belted neutral shirt dress or with your favorite denim shorts & blouse.  The Heartbeat pumps ($39.99) in purple are essential for upgrading any office look- not to mention, they’re also available in blue. I featured the Love Fury ($39.99) pumps in a post last year in Black Friday Sale Update, but in red, however both pairs are now reduced from their original $89.00 price. Lastly, since I’m a sucker for animal print & ankle booties, I just had to include the Haywire booties ($39.99) in natural multi pony, which are probably the best deal I’ve seen on the Nine West site since they’ve been marked down from $129.00!

How would you wear these shoes? Do you like to shop during the end-of-the-season deals? Which style of shoe is your favorite? Do you prefer classic leather shoes or like to experiment with textures? Show Me The Shoes: GOjane’s Great Up To 65% Off Booties Sale!

GOjaneI’m guilty of doing some fabulous Black Friday & Cyber Monday shopping… on myself, but why not? The deals were just too good to miss & my wardrobe needed a bootie update.  Even though the Thanksgiving holiday sales have ended, it’s time to start thinking about winter, but fortunately, GOjane is offering an up to 65% off booties sale, which means that shoe indulgence may go on, without breaking your budget.

There’s so much potential for sprucing up your winter wardrobe by just changing up your footwear & that starts with the canvas oxford heel ($25.95), which will change up your jeans & sweater look, as well as transcend your professional ensembles with the mix of textures.  The feather rosette bootie wedge ($13.95) is the perfect shoe for a feminine look, paired with a lacy sheath dress or tweed skirt & blouse.  For casual days, I love the idea of the slouchy leatherette ankle boot ($16.95) for wide leg jeans with a flyaway cardigan & layers of beads.

GOjaneI’m also crazy about wedges this season, which is why I’m sharing the lace-up bootie wedge ($28.60). They’re available in four other colors & will add a menswear edge to any outfit.  For those of you who aren’t scared of a high heel, I recommend the chunky heel booties ($29.00) for your knit tunic& leggings look, or to add a modern twist to a preppy sweater dress.  Lastly, if you’re not afraid of color, check out the two-tone velvet booties ($30.80), which especially bring out the holiday spirit.  These hues & the combination of textures with sequins, leather, & corduroy will make your winter look that much more dimensional!

Do you prefer ankle booties instead of knee boots? Do you find it easy to style them with your current wardrobe? What’s your favorite shoe style for winter? Happy Styling!

Black Friday Sale Update: 30-50% Off Shoes, Sandals, Boots, & Handbags @ALDO!

I’ve been searching plenty of websites for the best outfits at the most affordable prices, but I haven’t forgotten about my love for footwear.  Once I checked out what was going on @ALDO shoes, I knew I had to share the latest markdowns for the Black Friday sale. There’s always a good reason to buy shoes on sale, including some sensible flats for the office, sexy pumps for a date night, & chic boots for a casual day of shopping with the girls.

The Patrin flats ($17.49) in cognac are the perfect way to finish off a belted sweater dress look with tights & they’re also sold in blue & fuchsia. Also, for a glitter glitz & glam, I love the Nottingham flats ($9.99) in blue, which will compliment any leather skirt & embellished blouse look.  For a more utilitarian look, I recommend the Mandina boot ($38.49) with skinny jeans & a plaid button-down. The sleek Sperow heels ($32.49) are ideal for sporting the cap toe trend with the contrasting texture, but they’ll also make any LBD look all the more fierce, especially when worn with textured tights.

Next is the Jonquiere heels ($32.49) with a classic platform for elongating the legline. Match these with a polka dot dress or a sleek red number & you’ll really be making an entrance.  The Korsen bootie ($39.99) plays with colorblocking, adding an unexpected twist with the regal cobalt & bright turquoise.  The feminine Laesser flats ($14.99) are a gorgeous pairing with a slipdress & boyfriend blazer for an effortless night out on the town.

Which shoes are your favorites? Would you buy your BFF a pair of shoes for the holidays? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Project Runway All Stars Season 2: Graffiti Chic Runway Looks!

After season 10 of Project Runway ended, it only took a week to quell my creative competition show juices for when the second season of Project Runway All Stars returned & I’ve been happy to see some old favorites (Uli HerznerAnthony Ryan Auld) return to the workroom to reclaim victory.  Last week’s episode 3, “Up Your Aerosol” aired & I found myself excited to see the designers working with graffiti artists to create their own prints & designs looks accordingly.  Having worked in the boroughs of New York & seen the graffiti-ridden streets of Italy, I was interested in seeing the two art forms collide on te runway.

The winning look belonged to Emilio Sosa, & unfortunately, Suede‘s dotted disaster sent him home.  For more angles & closeup details on these looks, head over to My Lifetime. Check out the images above to see the designers’ handiwork & share which look is your favorite.  Which designer are you following this season? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Super New Suede Styles @Payless!

I post a lot about shoes… but there’s just so much to say! Given the big sales currently @Nine West (see post here), as well as the awesome designer styles currently sold @Payless (see another post here), I’m loving the new fall styles coming out as well.  My favorite texture for the season is suede, but while we’re still loving the summer sun, you can break out some suede this August!

These styles range in price from $19.99 up to $59.99, but most can work for you well into the winter (& that’s the last time I mention winter, until we’re well into fall)!  To start, let’s take a look at the tan double strap sandals that can create a longer legline & make your gams look like they go on for miles, especially with an LBD or printer romper & chunky belt.  The bow ankle wrap flat sandals are adorable to mix with walking shorts & a beaded tank, or with a denim skirt & basic tee. Also, consider the black & camel style for days when you’re donning earth tones!

The chop-out shooties in split pea & berry are designed by Lela Rose.  Those are the pricey shoes, but I do have my eye out for them during the store’s next BOGO 50% off sale since the black pair (not pictured) is just calling out for my black opaque tights & a pencil skirt when the weather gets crisper out!  But when shooties aren’t your type of shoe, I always have a cute flat in mind.  I just love the purple ballet flats, which also come in black & brown, to coordinate with a button-down shirt & bootcut jeans.  The brown clog slides remind me of those old-school Candie’s that Jenny McCarthy used to model, but with the deeper tone, they’re ideal to match with denim, chambray, or corduroy!

Also, during a previous post about the nude shoes trend in Luxury Look-Alikes for Less, I featured nude pumps like the red knot pumps that could really jazz up an office look, also in black & navy.  The tan ones that I’ve had for a few months now are super sexy, recalling an old school Marilyn Monroe-esque feel.  While we’re on the subject of pumps, don’t forget about sky high platforms.  They’re all the rage right now- just ask Kourtney Kardashian & Dianna Agron who’ve been spotted in them at recent press events.  Add a pop of color to your belted sheath or 70s-inspired jumpsuit with these electric blue 5″ platform pumps, which are also sold in black suede & tan patent.

Sign up for emails from Payless so that you can receive all the latest news on their BOGO sales, when the summer styles go on clearance, & to get your feet on 20% off coupons for your birthday!  Also, the best tip I can think of is if you’re ordering from the website, have your purchase shipped to your local Payless store to avoid paying a shipping & handling fee! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: New Spring Styles at Payless!

It hasn’t even been a week since my last shoe-oriented post, but I got so excited when I was clicking through the new arrivals on the Payless website. Spring shooties, heels, & wedges are all the rage right now & can be worn throughout the warmer season in many careful ways. Show off your softer side in neutral tones like tan & champagne, but don’t forget about those feminine touches.  What’s super trendy right now are menswear-inspired pieces which really add luxury to your look.  Of course, you can’t go wrong with some peep-toe mini cork wedges.  We have five different textures here: canvas, leather, suede, tweed, & satin.

For some outfit ideas, check out this ruffled romper which can be dressed up or down, depending on which shoe style you pick.  Also, keep in mind the neutrality of this cardigan for your next casual day out with your bestie wearing skinny jeans. Even just a lace-trimmed top & animal printed skirt will do for most of these shoes too!

All of the selected styles are available at Payless right now.  If you order online, have it shipped to your local store for free shipping.  If you sign up for their emails, you’ll learn about all the latest on their BOGO deals & even can earn a 20% coupon & a coupon code for online purchases as a birthday gift!  With prices ranging from $26.99 – $44.99, these are five inspiring spring items that you really can’t so without! Happy Styling!!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Textured Shoes for the New Year!

This is a little delayed, seeing how we’re already halfway into January, but Style Darling (still under construction) has returned to the blogosphere nonetheless.  I’m gonna do my best to open up some style inspiration here with some shoe talk- can’t get any better than that!  Just because it’s a new year, it doesn’t mean that I’ll be any less careful about spending, so buying on a budget is, of course, central to these selections.  The first pick of the new year, as it should be for all of winter is something with texture.  Gravitating toward some suede, wool, velvet, croc, canvas (& so on) will adds loads of extra detail to your outfit & take place of a pattern, while complimenting bolder colors that you may be wearing like red or tangerine.  Neutrals like gray, brown, black, & navy will look all the more richer & expensive in textures, as well as less basic- especially if you wearing two textures in one item.  Thus, bringing us into the shoe talk.  Investing in pieces that are both versatile and timeless will make the most of your wardrobe in an effortless way!

These ‘In The Mix’ peep toe pumps from Payless by Fioni are in a dark gray soft felt (also available in navy) for a tailored wool look.  The black patent leather lining around the ruffle adds visual interest and just enough detail for your footwear to look so much more luxurious than their $26.99 pricetag.  Check out these other textured shoes that will instantly punch up any office or casual look.

Kenneth Cole Reaction ‘How Chicky’ Bootie in Cloud Medium, $39.99 @Piperlime.  High Gloss Bow Front Flats in Black, $15.80 @Forever21. Canvas Chain Fold Front Flat in Camel, $22.50 @Charlotte Russe. Madden Girl ‘Micolee’ Snake Platform Pump in Multicolor, $29.94 @DSW. Aldo ‘Fronori’ Tall Round Tow Block Heel Boot in Brown Suede, $41.99 @Aldo.

What textures are you loving this season?  If shoes aren’t your thing (then you shouldn’t be reading this!), perhaps you have a textured bag you wanna share with us?  Keep checking back for more updates & I will get my Darling of the Day posts up & running once again any day now!  Happy Styling!
