10/31/2012 Darling Of The Day: Pippa Middleton’s Chic Fall Street Look!

This is no trick, but it is a treat. I could’ve posted about sexy maid costumes or how to recreate Carrie Bradshaw’s style, but in lieu of a little hurricane named Sandy, I wanted to share something more realistic, but as equally as delightful.  I haven’t written about Pippa Middleton‘s style in quite some time, but once I saw this chic purple & black ensemble, I knew I had to find the pieces to reimagine it while on a budget.

The Croft & Barrow solid faux suede shirt ($19.99) from Kohl’s is the perfect way to start building this look & if purple isn’t your hue of choice, it’s also available in grey, tan, & green. I always turn to New York & Company for work essentials, which is where I’ve found the ponte knit pencil skirt ($34.95). While it doesn’t have as much detail as Pippa’s, it is still figure flattering with plenty of structure given in the seams.  As for the shoes, I hit up DSW for the Madden Girl Zelouss bootie ($49.95), which compare at up to $80.00.

Accessories for this look in the Worthington tights ($6.00) from JC Penney, oversized wayfarer-style sunglasses ($20.93) from Express, as well as the Amour charm necklace ($3.80) & contrast strap hobo ($24.80), both from Forever 21.

In my second post for Top 10 Celebrity Sightings, I’m super happy to share some more fabulous looks from fearless fashionista sisters, Duchess Catherine & little sis, Pippa Middleton.  I’ve made it no secret that I have a girl crush on P, but in an effort to share the style spotlight, I’ve also included some additional envious looks.  We’re spanning many different occasions here, from evening ensembles, red carpet looks, & sassy street style, so buckle up b/c it’s going to be a glamorous ride!

I’ve featured plenty about Pippa Middleton in the past & even though Style Darling is still 100% in love with the famous younger sister, it’s time I finally gave big sis, Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton some style love.  Although I should mention that I’ve featured some of Kate’s fashionable looks in my blog for Ladies Outfitters, as seen here & here.

Even though we’re in the middle of spring, indulging in light flowy dress & breaking out strappy sandals, I wanted to take a quick look back at Kate whose style (although not on a red carpet) is always worth another look, especially since she’s having such a fabulous 2012! 12/26/11 Darling of the Day: Camilla Belle Shows Off This Season’s Essentials: Boots, Scarf, & a Leather Jacket!

It’s been unseasonably mild so far this winter on Long Island, but it seems that stars all over the country, including Camilla Belle here in Hollywood with a Tolani scarf, are gearing up for the change in temperature.  Wearing layered pieces like a leather jacket with a tunic top, scarf, skinny jeans, & knee boots creates a look with dimension, personality, & shows that you’re an on-trend Style Darling!

I’ve found some complimentary pieces to help achieve this look, especially if you’re traveling somewhere that isn’t quite winter, but might require some back-up items like a hat or scarf.  Check out the leatherette jacket with ruffle collar ($34.80) & plus size leatherette aviator jacket ($29.80), both from Forever 21.  The keyhole-back printed shell ($29.99) from The Gap brings out some of the texture in the look, especially when paired with Old Navy‘s The Flirt skinny jeans ($11.97).

The extra pieces to help pull the look together include the Bamboo black zipper riding boots ($49.99) from Lulu’s, Minicci Friday shopper ($26.99) in dark green from Payless, black silk / wool scarf ($39.99) from Banana Republic, & a North Face beanie ($30.00) from Macy’s.

11/25/11 Darling of the Day: Pippa Middleton Is At It Again, But With Fabulous Jackets & Coats!

The weather’s changing & it’s time to build on top of those layers with a nice coat.  I’ve recently come across more images of the famous Pippa Middleton, wearing a variety of coats & jackets as the crisp fall weather in England is changing to brisker winter days.  So I’ve put together yet another gallery in Darling of the Day (this one is much shorter though than the last one) dedicated to Pippa’s fabulous coat looks, showing how she mixes up her everyday pieces from stores like Zara, French Connection, Modalu, & Fay.  It’s true that even celebrities recycle their wardrobe & when you make a good investment in a coat, you’re certain to wear it more than once!

11/16/11 Darling of the Day: Pippa Middleton’s Leggings Look Is So Genius, It’s Inspired A Contest!

Big props to The Huffington Post for sharing a link to Style Darling, especially when I’ve been talking so much about the one & only, Pippa Middleton & her effortless street style!  Check out the entire 80+ picture gallery of Pippa’s outfits here.

However, these leggings that Ms. Pippa is wearing are causing quite the style stir since she’s not wearing the traditional tunic top, sweater, or any other rear-covering garment that typically requires leggings so that it looks like you’re not wearing something too short & you’re not showing off your bum, as the Brits say.

Does anyone see a problem with this look? I particularly do not. Personally, I wear leggings without a longer top all the time- around the house- but here with the suede ankle boots & a cute toggle coat, I am inspired!  And any not be?  She’s embracing her shape & probably isn’t paying as much attention to the fact that her behind is such a whopping focus, like the rest of the nay-saying bloggers.

Just because Kate Middleton is Pippa’s sister, it doesn’t mean that she can’t still look & dress like a woman.  Weren’t there even some comments made about Pippa’s rear curves during the royal wedding when she wore the silky Alexander McQueen gown?  What-evs!

I should mention that I especially have leggings on the brain since an upcoming leggings-themed birthday celebration for my fellow blogger Stacey (of EtsyBrook) is just days away & I think news like this just fuels the fire!

11/10/11 Darling of the Day: My Girl Crush on Pippa Middleton (In Zara) Continues!

I’ll admit my girl crush on Pippa Middleton.  It’s right up there with Scarlett Johansson, Kristin Davis, & Gwyneth Paltrow.  If you didn’t notice already, this weekend was big for Style Darling in that I posted my first-ever single Style Darling gallery, featuring the famous British sister.  Here she wears this dress with seams ($79.99) from Zara, which is available for purchase by buyers in the United States!

I had high hopes of turning this into a post for The $100 Challenge, but seeing as how the dress is costly, that wasn’t going to work.  However, since we’re darlings on a budget, it is okay to splurge every now & again on a special piece.

There are just a few chic pieces to complete the look, ones that you may already have if you’ve followed any of my posts so far this fall!  For example the single-button metro stretch jacket ($48.96) from New York & Company is an essential piece for any occasion.

It was easy to find the next five items which really bring out Pippa’s figure & the edginess in the dress.  @Forever 21, the studded suedette ankle boots ($32.80) are just the wow factor needed to punch it up.  Also, the buckled leatherette handbag in brown ($34.80) is functional b/c of its adjustability.  There’s one sale that you can’t miss & that’s on the sunglasses like these ($3.99), which are marked down from $5.00.

For a staple piece of jewelry, take a look @Kohl’s to see the gold mesh tone ring ($11.70) by Jennifer Lopez, which is also available in silver tone.

Thanks to a collection of online photos, courtesy of In Style, I’ve been able to put together 88 looks worn by the very stylish Pippa Middleton, younger sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine Middleton.  I’ve had my eye on Pippa for a long time now & am happy to post this gallery so that we can all be inspired by her French Connection, Modalu, Whistles, H&M, Prada, Maje, & Zara pieces.  Not to mention, the party planner mixes & matches pieces all season long, especially pairing her signature black blazers over ruffled dress, printed sheath numbers, & basic tees with jeans. Luxury Look-Alikes for Less: Pippa Middleton’s French Sole Ballet Flats!

If you don’t know who Pippa Middleton is, then you live under a very unfashionable rock!  I’ve been keeping up with her street style since she’s the most talked about British sister, making a major splash in the style blogosphere!  Not to mention that she very proudly demonstrates how to wear some of her favorite pieces over & over again, you know like the rest of us do! Case in point, these red ‘Hortense’ ballet flats by French Sole, which cost £104 (that’s Euros).  That’s an awful lot of money to spend on a pair on these flats, which are available in fifteen different colors & styles.  Imagine how many pairs of shoes you can buy for that much money! Hmm… sounds like an upcoming blog!

Anyway, red flats are the perfect way to add a splash of personality to a casual look when you’re out & about.  Just look at Pippa in these images above, wearing a blouse with a scarf & black pants, a belted dress with a shoulder bag, printed shorts with a blazer, a plaid shirt & skinny jeans, & a pretty LWD.

7/25/11 Darling of the Day: Pippa Middleton’s Casual Chic Day Look!

Pippa Middleton is making her second appearance here on Style Darling in a week (previously featured wearing a denim dress in Basics for a Bargain), so you know there’s some serious stuff going on with this famous British sister!  Pippa was caught out & about in May, strolling around London in a super hip, yet easy ensemble which includes a basic black blazer, red top, & skinny Hudson jeans.  She accessorized her look with Gucci sunglasses & a Modalu handbag.

During my search for comparable & affordable items, I was able to out together two looks for both Women’s & Plus Sizes.  These include blazers from Target & Torrid, tops from Bebe & One Stop Plus, & lastly, skinny jeans from Express & Torrid.

For the accessories, I really lucked out on bargain-priced items with a pair of sunglasses for $5.80, lace-up booties for $6.99 (YES $6.99!), & a camel shoulder bag for $32.80, all @Forever 21! As for the jewelry, the pair of drop earrings are from the Simply Vera Vera Wang collection @Kohl’s for $9.00.  Lastly, Charlotte Russe was my go-to resource for the rhinestone necklace, as well as the flower wreath ring & intertwined rhinestone ring, both $4.00!

These are the basic items that are the foundation to any great outfit.  She remains classic, chic, & very cool in this look that can be worn for a casual day at the office, running errands on the weekends, or even if you’re headed out to a quick meeting at a trendy cafe.  I recently had the argument about cardigans being so much more fabulous than blazers, but here is where the opposite is true.  I love how adding a blazer to a primary-colored top & basic pair of jeans (any style- flared, skinny, straight, or wide), adds a little more polish to the typically casual outfit.  Be sure to check out more Darling of the Day posts, including 48 photos of the Style Darling, courtesy of In Style’s Photo Gallery! Basics for a Bargain: Denim Dresses Inspired by Reese Witherspoon, Pippa Middleton, & Jessica Alba!

This summer is all about dresses & as we can see by our favorite celebrities, denim dresses are hitting the streets.  Here we have some inspiration from Pippa Middleton in a belted denim button-down dress, paired with camel heels & purse.  Jessica Alba is rocking an Isabel Marant design, which is both flirty and bohemian, paired with shades & army boots for an extra touch of playfulness.  Also, Reese Witherspoon shows of a classic shirtdress style dress by Billy Ried, opting for a pop of color in red sandals & a cognac Chloe shoulder bag.
These four very stylish & affordable denim dresses can be a basic worn for an outdoor family party or on a date.  The shift denim dress from Target is flattering for nearly any body type & calls for a belt & cardigan!  In the fall, add some rich mustard tights & ankle booties to get more from your investment!  The blue denim shirt dress can be found @Forever 21. Mix & match it with strappy platforms for a night out with the girls or ballet flats for day!  This dark denim shirt dress is available in sizes 12-26 @Torrid.  Take a little advice from the image & get out some beads to dress it up! As for the sweetheart spaghetti strap dress by Material Girl from Macy’s, top it off with a blazer & closed toe pumps for the office or cocktail event!
