Red Carpet Review: Celebrities Support Ralph Lauren’s Spring/Summer 2023 Fashion Show!

On Thursday night, Southern California was aglow with style as famed American designer Ralph Lauren held a stunning fashion show at the Botanical Gardens in San Marino. Not only was the runway ignited by a glorious range of Americana inclusivity, but the event was attended by some of Hollywood’s major players, paying homage in their own Ralph Lauren posh way. This includes Bennifer–Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck–along with Oscar-winners Jessica Chastain, Laura Dern, & Diane Keaton; as well as stars like Robin Wright, Lily Collins, Chris Pine, Mindy Kaling, John Legend, Cole Sprouse, Rachel Zoe, & more!

However, during a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Olivia was the epitome of effortless street style in a white tee & black wide leg pants, a look any cool gal tries & all women should!

Red Carpet Review: Ana de Armas in Louis Vuitton at the Venice Film Festival’s premiere of Blonde!

When I learned that Golden Globe-nominated actress Ana de Armas had arrived in Venice, I was so excited to refresh my feeds to see what the Cuban star would wear to the highly-anticipated premiere of her controversial film, Blonde, where she stars as Marilyn Monroe. Naturally, her red carpet look would be elegant & stunning, but also, I wondered if & how the gown would represent the bombshell icon at the center of the film.

In a bright pink pleated gown with a deep-v by Louis Vuitton, Ana graced the red carpet in true Hollywood fashion. Her gentle waves & sophisticated jewelry by Messika hearken to an era of glamour & ease that offers a refreshing twist on Barbiecore.

Additionally, the hue pays homage to Marilyn’s signature pink from her “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend” musical sequence in the 1949 film Gentleman Prefer Blondes; likewise, the halter & pleated look of Ana’s dress are reminiscent of the iconic subway grate scene in The Seven Year Itch from 1955.

Escorted to the premiere by one of the film’s producers, Brad Pitt, Ana shines, which is no surprise. I hope this marks the beginning of an exciting & stylish press tour for the 2 hour 46-minute film that’s rated NC-17 & is based on the disorienting evocative fictional biography by Joyce Carol Oates that begins streaming on Netflix on September 28th, especially leading up to awards season!

Zendaya is the ultimate style chameleon, appearing confident, innovative, flawless, strong, & feminine all at the same time always! It’s not an easy feat, especially at 26 years old! The Euphoria actress’ style easily ranks among top A-listers, like Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, & Sarah Jessica Parker! However, in lieu of a lengthy gallery of all of Zendaya’s glorious red carpet looks, I picked out some of my favorites, which have a common factor of being green, which is definitely the Emmy winner’s most flattering & boldest hue to wear. From a bright kelly green to olive to mint & everything in between, the Dune star makes a fashionable & memorable statement!

What’s even more special about Zendaya’s green palette is that the pieces in green she wears highlight her natural beauty & create a conversation about wearing what makes you feel good versus what is expected. Red Carpet Review: All the Wild Fashion from the 2022 MTV VMAs, Including Taylor Swift, Lizzo, Chloe Bailey, & More!

Last night’s MTV Video Music Awards were not a only an exciting celebration of current music, but a stunning, buzz-worthy feat of fashion for the red carpet & stage, including the likes of Taylor Swift in a transparent, diamond encrusted Oscar de a Renta mini dress—the night’s big winner whose major announcement of her upcoming album Midnights will be released on October 21st; rapper Lizzo whose navy Ursula-inspired voluminous gown by Jean Paul Gaultier Couture is the talk of Twitter; singer & actress Sabrina Carpenter in a glitzy retro cut-out dress by Moschino & towering platforms; & model Ashley Graham who celebrated her physique in a Houghton by Katharine Polka black cut-out halter dress. However, the most show-stopping look of the red carpet belonged to rapper Lil Nas X’s opulent, feathered Harris Reed ensemble, including a gravity-defying headdress & tiered skirt.

Singer and actress Olivia Newton-John passed away yesterday at the age of 73. The beloved Australian star had been battling cancer on & off since the early 1990s, but her legacy will continue to brighten the lives & imaginations of audiences forever with her memorable roles as Sandy in Grease & Kira in Xanadu, along with her 26 studio albums. Aside from Olivia’s remarkable stage & big screen talents, she remains one of fashion’s most underrated & timeless icons, especially after such a long career that endured through many decades of fashion risks, frills, & hairstyles!

Whether Olivia was channeling the mod looks of the 60s, bell-bottoms & peasant dresses of the 70s, pastels & sparkle in the 80s, or tailored menswear inspiration, Olivia’s style has inspired even today’s trendsetters & entertainers. As summer comes to an end, one upside to look forward to (aside from the pumpkin spice latte craze) is that awards season is just around the corner. This year’s Emmy nominations for the most groundbreaking & entertaining performances on television (networks, cable, & streaming) were announced last month, inciting shock over snubs & much debate about the worthiest of nominees. However, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan earns her 5th, & well-deserved Emmy nomination (garnering 1 win in 2018 for the show’s debut season), 4 of which are for her portrayal of the lovable, frustrating, hilarious, & stylish Midge Maisel as a struggling comic & divorcee in the 1950s-60s.

At a recent Emmy FYE event, Rachel was photographed nailing a combination of trends, paying homage to the 90s with wide-leg pants, a crop top, & a peace sign pose (#girlpower). I can’t wait for the return of Ted Lasso! I didn’t expect to enjoy the show at all, but I knew it earned rave reviews & loads of awards over the last 2ish years; however, aside from the mega-talented cast & heartwarming core to all the show’s hilarity, Emmy-winner Hannah Waddingham, who plays the staggeringly chic Rebecca Welton, puts all other fashionable characters of television to shame!

Rebecca is a boss. She dresses like a corporate princess with an unlimited budget.
