Show Me the Shoes: Pretty in Pink Flats!

In its fairest shade, pink is a neutral, perfect for matching up with nearly any spring, summer, or fall outfit. I myself do love a rose gold flat with some black tights, if the look demands it, in the winter too! And why shouldn’t a blush shoe be a neutral? It works very well for the upcoming fall season as well with a slew of hues, including navy, chocolate, olive, charcoal, burgundy, cobalt, mustard, hunter green, & so many more!

With all that build up, it’s no surprise that the pretty pink flats I’m featuring are not only pretty & pink, but also, they’re versatile considering their texture & design. I’ve never been a huge fan of the pink family, but over the years, my heart has started to skip a stylish beat when I see some rose gold jewelry. That’s extended into eyeshadow & accessories like shoes & belts too. However, for fall, take a look at these dressy, luxe, & feminine designs @Charlotte Russe to inspire a pop of pink where you might not have previously.

SHOP: rose gold ponty toe flats, ankle strap patent flats, ruffle velvet flats, & bowed d’Orasay flats @Charlotte Russe.

Splurge of Save… On Light Blue Suede Ankle Strap Sandals for Spring!

My goal, as of late, when it comes to my everyday outfits and sharing style tips on Style Darling Daily, is try something new. This includes combinations of separates that I hadn’t thought of previously, as well as only investing in special new additions that not only stand apart from other items I already own, but will also serve multiple purposes. I’ve realized that in the past, I’ve sought out dresses, shoes, & more that thrill me in the moment to add to my wardrobe, without considering their need in the long run. In order to better maintain my closet & finances, I’m being much more careful about how I approach styling.

With that, spring is underway & I’m trying to break away from my usual all-black or only black & white routine. Spring is all about soft, light colors, embracing pastels & brighter hues like nobody’s business. When I was recently perusing through my daily barrage of emails from my favorite stores, I saw a shoe trend that I just couldn’t stop thinking about. Normally, I’m not a trend chaser, sticking to what’s classic & works for my specific body type & daily needs. Ankle strap sandals have always been a little tricky. I haven’t been able to find a comfortable pair in recent years, though I’ve written much about the sleek & delicate style (here), but when I saw that so many different designers & retailers were pitching light blue suede ankle strap sandals for spring, my mind was racing with all the styling possibilities—with dresses, pencil skirts, cropped jeans, & so many more!

It doesn’t hurt to have a little celebirty inspiration when it comes to this particular shoe style, showing all the different colors & ways to wear them. This includes German starlet Diane Kruger, supermodel Kendall Jenner, Oscar-winner Emma Stone, blogger / actress Ashley MadekweOrange Is The New Black star Taylor Schilling, & pop star Rihanna

We all have different styling expectations & budgets, which is why I wanted to share the six above pairs of shoes, ranging in price from $21 – $400, including some very well-known, quality brands, as well as more affordable options to try this spring for a weekend brunch, Easter with the family, or a fashionable date night look.

Show Me The Shoes: Up To 70% Off Clearance Shoes @Nine West!

Retailers are still in that transition period between seasons, which means that it’s the perfect time to get your hands, or feet in this case, on clearance deals on shoe. More specifically, Nine West is clearing out their online shelves with deals up to 70% off on a sale shoes. These prices are perfect for wearing the redt of the winter, preparing for this coming spring / summer, & even wearing on an upcoming vacation.

Nine West

I picked the Leggy wedge ($39.99) in camel multi leopard, which is perfect to match with a belted neutral shirt dress or with your favorite denim shorts & blouse.  The Heartbeat pumps ($39.99) in purple are essential for upgrading any office look- not to mention, they’re also available in blue. I featured the Love Fury ($39.99) pumps in a post last year in Black Friday Sale Update, but in red, however both pairs are now reduced from their original $89.00 price. Lastly, since I’m a sucker for animal print & ankle booties, I just had to include the Haywire booties ($39.99) in natural multi pony, which are probably the best deal I’ve seen on the Nine West site since they’ve been marked down from $129.00!

How would you wear these shoes? Do you like to shop during the end-of-the-season deals? Which style of shoe is your favorite? Do you prefer classic leather shoes or like to experiment with textures? Watch This Style: Project Runway All Stars Season 2: Graffiti Chic Runway Looks!

After season 10 of Project Runway ended, it only took a week to quell my creative competition show juices for when the second season of Project Runway All Stars returned & I’ve been happy to see some old favorites (Uli HerznerAnthony Ryan Auld) return to the workroom to reclaim victory.  Last week’s episode 3, “Up Your Aerosol” aired & I found myself excited to see the designers working with graffiti artists to create their own prints & designs looks accordingly.  Having worked in the boroughs of New York & seen the graffiti-ridden streets of Italy, I was interested in seeing the two art forms collide on te runway.

The winning look belonged to Emilio Sosa, & unfortunately, Suede‘s dotted disaster sent him home.  For more angles & closeup details on these looks, head over to My Lifetime. Check out the images above to see the designers’ handiwork & share which look is your favorite.  Which designer are you following this season? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Super New Suede Styles @Payless!

I post a lot about shoes… but there’s just so much to say! Given the big sales currently @Nine West (see post here), as well as the awesome designer styles currently sold @Payless (see another post here), I’m loving the new fall styles coming out as well.  My favorite texture for the season is suede, but while we’re still loving the summer sun, you can break out some suede this August!

These styles range in price from $19.99 up to $59.99, but most can work for you well into the winter (& that’s the last time I mention winter, until we’re well into fall)!  To start, let’s take a look at the tan double strap sandals that can create a longer legline & make your gams look like they go on for miles, especially with an LBD or printer romper & chunky belt.  The bow ankle wrap flat sandals are adorable to mix with walking shorts & a beaded tank, or with a denim skirt & basic tee. Also, consider the black & camel style for days when you’re donning earth tones!

The chop-out shooties in split pea & berry are designed by Lela Rose.  Those are the pricey shoes, but I do have my eye out for them during the store’s next BOGO 50% off sale since the black pair (not pictured) is just calling out for my black opaque tights & a pencil skirt when the weather gets crisper out!  But when shooties aren’t your type of shoe, I always have a cute flat in mind.  I just love the purple ballet flats, which also come in black & brown, to coordinate with a button-down shirt & bootcut jeans.  The brown clog slides remind me of those old-school Candie’s that Jenny McCarthy used to model, but with the deeper tone, they’re ideal to match with denim, chambray, or corduroy!

Also, during a previous post about the nude shoes trend in Luxury Look-Alikes for Less, I featured nude pumps like the red knot pumps that could really jazz up an office look, also in black & navy.  The tan ones that I’ve had for a few months now are super sexy, recalling an old school Marilyn Monroe-esque feel.  While we’re on the subject of pumps, don’t forget about sky high platforms.  They’re all the rage right now- just ask Kourtney Kardashian & Dianna Agron who’ve been spotted in them at recent press events.  Add a pop of color to your belted sheath or 70s-inspired jumpsuit with these electric blue 5″ platform pumps, which are also sold in black suede & tan patent.

Sign up for emails from Payless so that you can receive all the latest news on their BOGO sales, when the summer styles go on clearance, & to get your feet on 20% off coupons for your birthday!  Also, the best tip I can think of is if you’re ordering from the website, have your purchase shipped to your local Payless store to avoid paying a shipping & handling fee! Happy Styling!
