Color Me Style: Fall’s Must-Have Mustard Pieces, Inspired by Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Taylor Swift, & More!

One of the biggest colors to hit stores in anticipation of fall is mustard, a rich gold hue that’s perfect for transitioning from summer to a cooler, crisper season. It’s not as tricky a shade to pull off as one might think, especially when there’s so much celebrity inspiration to consider when it comes to dresses, separates, outerwear, & accessories that will redefine how you look at mustard, making your outfit pop. This is evident with the always perfect Blake Lively in a leather dress during Milan Fashion Week, Scream star Bella Thorne‘s street style in corduroy overalls, The Twilight Saga actress Ashley Greene‘s casual look in a boyfriend cardigan, & The Honest Company entrepreneur Jessica Alba in a midi length skirt paired with feminine black extras.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Get These Green Pieces For St. Patrick’s Day!

A friend of mine recently asked me what the big color for spring was going to be & from my research & observation of trends, I saw that emerald green was getting to be very popular, amid the rise in pretty pastels & trendy neons. Nearly everyone looks great in emerald, so I thought, what better day to talk about some amazing emerald pieces than on St. Patrick’s Day!

I know when I’m putting a look together, I usually stick to classic black & white pieces, but there’s nothing better than a special pop of color, especially when it comes to green. First, the Merona 3/4 sleeve v-neck cardigan sweater ($19.99) from Target is the perfect topper to any polka dots, graphic print, or houndstooth sheath dress for both the office & a family party. Speaking of dresses, I love the stretch cotton skater dress ($27.93) from Express (which is currently on sale for 30% off) & the AB Studio lace sheath dress ($25.60) from Kohl’s (which has recently been reduced from its original $64.00 price). Both are reasonably priced & can work for any season if paired with cork wedges or even opaque tights & a boyfriend blazer.

If you prefer separates, then try H&M‘s blouse ($12.95) which can be worn knotted with skinny jeans & sneaker wedges for a casual day out & about, or untucked over some rocker chic leather leggings & metallic pointy toe pumps when headed out with the girls. Also, I recommend the Diva skinny ankle pants ($29.94) from Old Navy to be worn with a cable knit sweater for a preppy look or a flirty blouse & ballet flats when meeting gal pals for a luncheon. Not to mention that Old Navy has a special 17% off coupon code (ONLUCKY) which can be used on almost any online only purchase.

Add green accessories into the mix with some jewelry like the bubble bead statement necklace ($12.99) from Charlotte Russe, which is having a sitewide 20% off sale today, online only! Also, there’s Forever 21‘s iridescent arrowhead drop earrings ($4.80), which can be worn with a modern LBD & strappy sandals, or made exotic for your next vacation in a maxi dress & basketweave wedges.

I always love green in multi-color patterns too, which is why I selected the bright geometric scarf ($19.95) from New York & Company to wear with a denim jacket & jersey skirt while shopping, or to dress up any solid pullover & dark denim jeans. Lastly, you can’t talk about green without mentioning shoes & there are so many ways to wear the Worthington Pennie faux suede ballet flats ($28.00) from JC Penney like with a pair of neutral trousers & button-down shirt. Also, there’s the PaylessAmerican Eagle sweetheart high wedge sling ($24.99) with a cotton wrap dress or a chambray tunic & colored denim shorts.

How do you like to wear green? Do you wear green on St. Patrick’s Day? Which are your favorite pieces? What’s your budget for new spring-friendly fashions? Show Me The Shoes: Up To 70% Off Clearance Shoes @Nine West!

Retailers are still in that transition period between seasons, which means that it’s the perfect time to get your hands, or feet in this case, on clearance deals on shoe. More specifically, Nine West is clearing out their online shelves with deals up to 70% off on a sale shoes. These prices are perfect for wearing the redt of the winter, preparing for this coming spring / summer, & even wearing on an upcoming vacation.

Nine West

I picked the Leggy wedge ($39.99) in camel multi leopard, which is perfect to match with a belted neutral shirt dress or with your favorite denim shorts & blouse.  The Heartbeat pumps ($39.99) in purple are essential for upgrading any office look- not to mention, they’re also available in blue. I featured the Love Fury ($39.99) pumps in a post last year in Black Friday Sale Update, but in red, however both pairs are now reduced from their original $89.00 price. Lastly, since I’m a sucker for animal print & ankle booties, I just had to include the Haywire booties ($39.99) in natural multi pony, which are probably the best deal I’ve seen on the Nine West site since they’ve been marked down from $129.00!

How would you wear these shoes? Do you like to shop during the end-of-the-season deals? Which style of shoe is your favorite? Do you prefer classic leather shoes or like to experiment with textures? Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Victoria’s Secret Pajama’s Are Up To 40% Off!

Victoria's Secret sleep sale

Normally, this would be a post for Sale of the Week, but there’s just so much going on right now in terms of sales that I wanted to feature it on Style Darling‘s main blog page.  I rarely post about sleepwear, only b/c it’s never something that I think about when it comes to my wardrobe.  Sometimes I’ll wear a matching set, but most of the time, I’m dreaming in mismatched separates, including worn leggings & comfy layers of pullovers & tanks.  However, Victoria’s Secret is getting me in the pajama mood with their big sleep sale, with pajamas up to 40% off, along with separates, nighties, & slippers.

I’m featuring three of my favorite sets, which will surely help with starting off some healthy sleep habits for the new year.  This includes the pillow talk tank pajama ($29.99) in grey animal, dreamer flannel pajama ($29.99) in mint ice lurex plaid, & cotton mayfair pajama ($29.99) in leopard.  These comfy sets are also available in other colors & patterns, perfect for coordinating with other separates for those days when you’re curling up in front of the fire, reading a good book.

Also, whenever I’m at home, I can always been seen in my slippers- not just to protect my feet from the hard surfaces around the house, but also b/c they’re always cold! The cozy fleece slippers ($19.99) are only available in lilac frost, spring orchid, & red alert.  Also, the pillow talk slippers ($9.99) in pink plaid are a feminine way to accessorize, but if you’re looking for something backless, then I recommend the dreamer flannel slipper ($9.99), which is available in over a dozen different patterns.

Which pajamas do you like the best? Do you prefer matching sets are creating your own combinations? How much are you willing to spend on sleepwear? Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Catch The Fall Cord Trend @Old Navy!

While trying to figure out just what I should do with all those coupons that I received for my birthday last week, I couldn’t think of anything other than using them for the greater good of my wardrobe! Of course, I would’ve been more than happy to share them with friends, but since I had a few days off after starting my new job (yay!) I headed straight to the mall & local stores to treat myself to some super bargains & affordable style.

I must go to Old Navy at least once a month- that’s how often it seems that I get a coupon- & wasn’t entirely too successful in the clearance section.  I wandered around the store to find these perfect-cord pencil skirts ($17.50) which were marked down from their original $29.94 price.  In addition, my coupon & discount code for an extra 20% off (code: ONBIG20, which expires 9/16) made the price even less.  I choose the jute green color since I know how beautifully it will pair against my black & gray staples for building an office look.  However, I did love the rich deep space blue, warm creme caramel, feminine raspberry punch, & trendy candied lemon hues to think about matching with printed blouses, argyle cardigans, & suede ankle booties.

Keep in mind that prices & sales online don’t always match store prices, but I lucked out with the cheaper store price.  I can’t wait to break out my fall shoes & some textured tights & head to work in this stylish pencil skirt that will last me until next spring! Which color do you like the best? Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: J.Crew’s End Of Summer Sales ($15 & Under)!

I’ve been getting loads of emails about the latest end of the season sales, so I’m making a 5-part series of the best deals for under $15 at my favorite stores as a countdown to Labor Day weekend- a celebration of summer style, fun in the sun, & a way to welcome all the new fall trends.  However, @J.Crew, I was able to find some chic pieces, among many other sleek sale items, to help create some fun & last-minute looks if you’re headed to the beach, a barbecue, or a party with loved ones!

The espadrilles ($14.99) in yellow are casual, yet perfect for creating that nautical chic look if you’re bound for the bay.  The pop of color matches well with navy, red, kelly green, as well as staple neutrals like white, black, & khaki.  Scoping out deals on accessories like the chevron tie belt ($9.99) in aqua will make the rest of this summer’s wardrobe, as well as next year’s, all the more stylish.  Tie this around a cotton dress, with a shorts romper, or for more polish to come cargo pants & you’re good to go!  When the nights turn cooler, I recommend the perfect-fit tape boatneck tee ($14.99) in white, which is ideal for a linen pencil skirt, bright denim skinnies, or a flowy peasant skirt.

I’ve found that when it comes to swimsuit shopping, sometimes the pre-set separates just don’t work for my shape, but I like mixing it up just like any other outfit.  If you have a favorite colorful bottom or textured top that you wanna reinvent, then I recommend checking out the jersey Lomellina ruffle top ($14.99) in dark slate, which has some femininity along the bustline, as well as the belted bow bikini ($9.99) in brown, which offers a retro feel to any tankini top or triangle top. Check out more to come from The Stylish Five! Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: See What’s On Clearance @White House Black Market!

I’ve been writing so much about what’s new for spring, so I had to check out what’s going on @White House Black Market & how I can get my hands on some of the best end-of-the-season sale deals that can still be worn for the new season in fashion!

I’m mad for the mid length pleated skirt ($24.98) b/c it reminds pleating is always on-trend.  It’s sexy in that librarian chic kind of way & if worn right, it won’t look matronly.  Add a fitted tee & cardigan, silk cami & boyfriend blazer, or corset top & t-strap shoes with this dazzling & affordable must-have.

Next, I picked the double bow slingback, which unfortunately is out of stock, but it caught my eye.  I love the bordeaux and black combination on the croc patent leather.  It’s the perfect amount of texture and contrast to make a skirt suit, leggings & blouse, or little black dress more classic & sophisticated.

Lastly, I’m a sucker for polka dots & couldn’t get over the adorable factor here with the polka dot ruffle bag ($29.99), which is perfect for any time of year.  Pair this with a striped dress to play up the mixture of prints, or wear it with a neon sheath dress & nude pumps to show off your feminine side.

Check out more from Quickie Darling Deal & Steal, featuring wedges by Christian Siriano @Payless, a clearance dress from ASOS, & polka dot tights from Kohl’s! Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: Top Sale Picks @Zara ($20 & Under)!

While I was in Italy, I was finally to step inside a Zara store, which was having a big, big sale.  Although I didn’t end up buying anything, I couldn’t get the stores super affordable prices & fabulous styles out of my head.

I decided to take a look at the sale items with U.S. dollars & found these five pieces that can seriously upgrade your wardrobe & they all cost under $20!

Anytime there’s a sale on shoes, you know I’m all over it.  I love the sandals with snake skin straps ($19.99), which are perfect for any LBD look & can easily transition a work look to happy hour.  The black mini skirt ($14.99) is extra special with the zipper detail, especially when worn with ankle boots & an oversized t-shirt.  If you’re looking to change up your work attire, try a striped poplin shirt ($19.99) instead of wearing the usual white button down.

Even though new year’s celebrations are over, there’s no reason why we can’t still wear some sparkle & metallics.  For example, the straight mini skirt ($19.99) is just the pop of color to wear with luxe neutrals, floral prints, & Parisian stripes.  Speaking of… the striped t-shirt ($14.99) mixes a classic pattern with a glamorous texture, especially when worn with leggings, skinny pants, or jeans.

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: Take A Stylish Walk On The Wild Side @Cache!

I’ve never actually shopped @Cache, but when I received an email from the store about their 60% off clearance sale, I just had to check it out.  I got really excited to find animal-inspired pieces like the dress ($159.00) that looks flattering to all shapes.  It’s just the kind of print that I was referring to in my previous post about what to wear with the lace peep toes!

Next, the snake print cami ($39.00) would really wow underneath a boyfriend blazer with skinny jeans & red heels, or wear it with a cardigan & pencil skirt to make it more of a work-appropriate shell under basics.

The silk shorts ($59.00) remind me of something Rachel Bilson’s character would wear on Hart of Dixie, but these are easily fall-ready if paired with black tights, a mock turtleneck & some ankle booties.  My favorite of all is the tiered skirt ($49.00), which is just enough flirty & feminine for my style.  It’s classy enough to wear with your favorite button down blouse or sexy enough to go with the highest platforms in your closet!

When you look at the prices here, you might be thinking that I’ve forgotten my style-on-a-budget rule, but if you check out the website, you can get an addition 60% off, so the dress which was originally marked at $168.00 & is on sale for $159.00, then becomes $63.60 in your shopping cart after the 60% off!  Oh the power of bargains!  I should also mention that this is an end-of-the-season clearance sale so not all sizes are available.  I wanted to share the news on the great sale so that my readers can benefit! Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: Accessorize @Mandee ($10 & Under)!

@Mandee, some of their least expensive sale items are up to 50% off!  Not to mention that these accessories are awesome investments for this season & even for next year when fall & winter come back around!  Also, while the store is primarily suited for Juniors’, a Style Darling of any age can find timeless accessories for day, evening, or weekend here.  For your next date night, try out these dangly earrings with your LBD. A rich, luxe burgundy clutch like this is very chic with a neutral dress & metallic heels.  Even a snakeskin-inspired belt would fit nicely over tunic top.  Get warm in these fur-lined boots for chilly days in a shawl sweater & jeggings.  Ribbed tights in a a deep brown make for a preppy accent to a babydoll dress & knee boots.
