Watch This Style: Revenge Returns Tonight & It’s A Beautiful Thing!

Revenge

I’ve been trying to catch up on when all of my favorite shows are returning after their holiday hiatus, including the ever so stylish Revenge. This guilty pleasure prime-time soap has moved up the ranks as a must-see show, not just for the drama that takes places among the privileged Hamptonites, but also for the costumes worn by the show’s elegant leading ladies: Emily Van Camp (Emily), Madeleine Stowe (Victoria), Ashley Madekwe (Ashley), Christa B. Allen (Charlotte), & Margarita Levieva (Amanda).

Ashley Madekwe, who I featured a while back in a .com Darling post for her blog, Ring My Bell, posted the following video promo on her Facebook page. Of course it doesn’t give anything away about the second half of the current season, but it’s still some good eye candy for those who are fans of the show.

Will you be watching the scheming & plotting tonight? Who’s your favorite character? Who do you think has the best style on the show? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Simply Irresistible Sex & The City Segues!

Sex & the CIty

Happy New Year Style Darlings! There’s so much to look forward to in 2013, but I thought I’d take a minute to ring in the new year with an oldie, but a goodie.  Thanks to my email subscription to StyleIte, I came across this hilarious video of Sex & the City, featuring Carrie’s always pun-tastic segues.  Where would the show be without her quippy voiceovers transitioning from bedroom to bedroom? This video comes to us from Slackatory, so sit back & enjoy the hilarity.  I’ve been catching up on the show’s reruns which air on E!, but it’s funny to remember some of the awkward moments that the girls faced in the big apple.  Happy Styling!

Cover Craze: Behind The Scenes At Gwen Stefani’s Vogue January 2013 Cover Shoot!

Gwen Stefani for Vogue January 2013While biding my time during the holidays, stuck in bed, sick as a pampered pooch, I spent some time flipping through the January 2013 issue of Vogue, with the always glamorous Gwen Stefani on the cover. Gwen has been one of my fashion idols for a long time, & I still remember hearing “Just A Girl” on the radio for the first hundred times back when I was in middle school.  Inside the magazine, you’ll find ridiculously fashionable shots of the No Doubt frontwoman, alongside her bandmates whose latest album, Push & Shove, is creating lots of buzz for the band’s long-awaited reunion.  Check out the video below to get a taste of Gwen’s history with the group & her hot looks for the new year, featuring designs by Alexander Wang & Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane. Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Marion Cotillard Designs The Latest Lady Dior Handbag!

Marion Cotillard for Lady Dior

While trying to fight off a cold & organize my best writing for a future as a grad student, I was sidelined by the latest news circulating around the fashion world, that Oscar-winning actress Marion Cotillard is designing a very special Lady Dior handbag. As a spokesmodel for the brand for several years now, the French beauty has taken her flair for fashion & forte as a creative force in music to new heights by lending her vision to Dior in creating a classic, yet modern bag.

In this video, discovered on my favorite site In Style, you can take a look at Marion as she brainstorms ideas for the bag with a behind-the-scenes peak at her fabulous celebrity lifestyle.  What do you think of her latest foray as designer? Happy Styling!

Silver Screen Style: Remember Clueless? Rihanna Does- In Calvin Klein!

As if.. haha… As if Clueless wasn’t a classic 90s movie for its humor, memorable characters, & darling storyline, Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone, had one killer wardrobe! In the iconic scene where she’s going out on a date with her new-guy-at-school crush, Christian, her dad barks at her that she’s dressed inappropriately in a little white slip dress mini by the one & only Calvin Klein.  Last week on the red carpet, the always risk-taking Rihanna wore a custom Calvin Klein Collection red slip dress that immediately sent the fashion world into a Clueless-driven frenzy, & here’s my part.

Rihanna accessorizes her ravishing version with red strappy sandals & gorgeous Neil Lane jewelry. If you’re looking to get that sexy slip dress look, you can find the Free People swiss dot slip dress ($29.99) from 6PM & double-ring bra top dress ($39.50) from Victoria’s Secret. Check out the video clip below for a refresher on why this movie has stood the test of chick-flick time! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Marilyn Monroe’s Never Before Seen Footage & Her Love Of Chanel No. 5!

Chanel should’ve rethought their whole campaign for their legendary fragrance, Chanel No. 5, especially since Brad Pitt’s lackluster black & white monologue has fallen short its $7 million price tag.  I was lucky enough to spot this video of never been seen footage & audio of the one & only, Marilyn Monroe, talking about her love of the fragrance, which is a much better & sexier way to talk about the classic scent.  Not to mention that she’s famously quoted, when asked “What do you wear to bed?,” with answer “Chanel No. 5.” For all your lovers of MM & vintage style, get a load of this really cool video & share it with your Style Darlings! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Prabal Gurung’s Collaborates With Target!

Next year, Target is getting a whole lot better with the debut collaboration from famed designer, Prabal Gurung. On February 10th, you’ll be able to feel the love of fashion in this love-inspired collection, which will include bright blue pumps, neon florals, splashes of metallics, ravishing reds, & much more! There have been so many waves of high fashion hitting the mass market, especially @Target, which have all sold out in what could only be described as practically instantaneously.

Are you going to be waiting in line to see more from this collection? Do you like it when big names in fashion creates lines for mainstream shoppers? Do you think that these pieces are practical for the everyday woman who shops @Target? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Project Runway All Stars Season 2: Graffiti Chic Runway Looks!

After season 10 of Project Runway ended, it only took a week to quell my creative competition show juices for when the second season of Project Runway All Stars returned & I’ve been happy to see some old favorites (Uli HerznerAnthony Ryan Auld) return to the workroom to reclaim victory.  Last week’s episode 3, “Up Your Aerosol” aired & I found myself excited to see the designers working with graffiti artists to create their own prints & designs looks accordingly.  Having worked in the boroughs of New York & seen the graffiti-ridden streets of Italy, I was interested in seeing the two art forms collide on te runway.

The winning look belonged to Emilio Sosa, & unfortunately, Suede‘s dotted disaster sent him home.  For more angles & closeup details on these looks, head over to My Lifetime. Check out the images above to see the designers’ handiwork & share which look is your favorite.  Which designer are you following this season? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: The Top 5 Most Stylish Music Videos By Alicia Keys (+ Her Latest ‘Girl On Fire’)!

Alicia Keys is one of my all-time favorite singers & I don’t think I need to explain why.  She’s a powerhouse performer, prolific songwriter, & clearly a Style Darling! Her latest & 5th record, Girl on Fire, has released its first single of the same name & it’s clear that Alicia herself is indeed on fire! Check her out in looks from Victoria Beckham, Valentino, Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci, in Christian Louboutins with her red & black butterfly dress, & Camilla & Marc.

In celebration of her upcoming record, due out November, I thought it was appropriate to celebrate her music, as well as her style by sharing her latest music video for “Girl On Fire,” where the singer is hoswing off her style with neon trends, smoky eye makeup, & figure flattering duds.  Basically, she’s never looked better, but this post isn’t just about that since I’m including my top 5 favorite videos from the new mom.  This includes (in no particular order) “If I Ain’t Got You,” “No One,” “Empire State of Mind” with Jay-Z, “Teenage Love Affair, & “Karma.”

You can’t forget about her chart-topping hits like “Fallin’,” “Girlfriend,” & “You Don’t Know My Name,” but I think 6 music videos in one post is plenty to enjoy the talents of this very admirable recording artist.  Surely she’ll be hitting up all of the red carpets during the awards season, promoting her record, as well as appearing on all the pertinent talk shows to spread her love of music, so we’ll have to keep an eye out.

Which are your favorite videos by Alicia? Do you like her style? Which hairstyle of hers is your favorite? For more videos from Watch This Style, check out the latest from Solange Knowles, No Doubt, & Christina Aguilera! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Get Your First Look At AnnaSophia Robb in ‘The Carrie Diaries’!

Back in April, I came across from sneak preview images from the newest CW series, The Carrie Diaries, based on Candace Bushnell’s novel, starring newcomer, AnnaSophia Robb, as the iconic Carrie Bradshaw in 1984.  I was a little hesitant to watch the video below, but I’m glad I did. Of course the show, which premieres in January, won’t be the same as the original HBO show with the incomparable Sarah Jessica Parker, darling Kristin Davis, daring Kim Cattrall, & brilliant Cynthia Nixon.

We get to see a different side of the beloved character who still inspires red carpets & runways even after the show’s end in 2004, the first film in  2008, & its sequel in 2010.  Check out my previous post, sharing the fashionable images from The Carrie Diaries, which make me wanna break out my bright turquoise pointed toe pumps! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Stuart Weitzman’s Finale To “Walking After Midnight,” Directed by James Franco!

For the last three weeks, I’ve been sharing the latest video campaign from Stuart Weitzman, directed by James Franco, & starring Dancing with the Stars beauty Petra Nemcova. The most recent, & finale, of the vignettes hit the web & now Style Darling has it for you! Check out the full-length short film, featuring each episode, & then some! Of course, this all happens to a revved up remake of Patsy Kline’s “Walking After Midnight,” which I haven’t been able to get out of my head all month long!

What do you think about the ad campaign? Are you a fan of Stuart Weitzman designs? Do you like Franco’s point of view for the heels? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Check Out Project Runway Winner Dmitry Sholokhov’s Winning Collection & Casting Session For Season 10!

I’m a big SUPER big fan of Project Runway & season 10 has been an exciting run for the designers.  I was rooting for Christopher Palu (a Long Island native, like myself) the whole time, but alas, his collection was not as victorious as Dmitry Sholokhov‘s, who was crowned the winner.  His strong collection was the clear winner, impressing judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, & guest judge Jennifer Hudson.

During New York Fashion Week, I featured the entire season 10 finale runway gallery in a previous Runway Rundown post, which is where you can see Dmitry’s polished presentation.  However, in celebration of his win, I’ve found a video of his original casting session with previous Project Runway victors, Seth Aaron Henderson & Mondo Guerra.

Stay tuned next week on Lifetime for more from Project Runway since the exciting second season of All-Stars in starting! Did your favorite designer win last night? Which collection were you most impressed by? Do you think the judges got it right? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Stuart Weitzman’s Third Episode With The DAGGER Pumps!

Yes, another Wednesday has passed, which means that it’s time for the third installment of Stuart Weitzman‘s “Walking After Midnight” series, featuring model Petra Nemcova, as directed by James Franco. In this vignette, Petra is donning the Dagger pump ($375.00$385.00), walking down the city streets in nothing but some hot pants & a boyfriend blazer.  After the first two videos, I’m not sure what else to expect since we have at least one more video to anticipate. Perhaps what would have been really fantastic is a mash-up of all of the videos?  Check out to links for Episode 1 & Episode 2! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Part Two of Brad Pitt’s Chanel No. 5 Commercial!

It was only Monday when the full-length video commercial for Chanel No. 5 was revealed, starring a black & white, monotoned, monologue-toting Brad Pitt. Critics were underwhelmed by the recitation since he naturally doesn’t seem like a good fit for the brand, which had been previously endorsed by the elegant likes of Nicole Kidman & Keira Knightley.  However, a sequel video has been released, more in a dazzling commercial format, revealing a more suitable & feminine side to the fragrance’s portrayal.  Perhaps just sticking to Brad’s voice-over will make for a more effective campaign? What do you think of this second video? Are you a fan of the timeless perfume? Happy Styling!

Ad Madness: Scarlett Johansson Heads To Broadway In ‘Cat On A Hot Tin Roof!’

I was super excited when I read my email this morning & discovered that Tony-winning actress Scarlett Johansson was returning to Broadway next year.  She’s headlining a revival of Tennessee Williams’ iconic drama, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, which had been famously brought to the big screen with legends Elizabeth Taylor & Paul Newman.  Previews for the play begin December 18th & it will open for the public on January 17th, which means that tickets will go quick for this 15-week limited-time run.

A few years ago, I saw Scarlett make her Broadway debut in Arthur Miller’s A View From The Bridge, which took my breath away, thus leading to her Tony win, so you can be sure that I’m going to do everything in my power to get a ticker (& an affordable one) to catch one of my favorite plays of all time, starring one of my favorite actresses!

You may be asking, where’s the style in all of this? Well, for those of you who don’t know, the play’s protagonist, Maggie the Cat, is famous for wearing a seductive slip dress for most of the play & we can keep an eye out on Scarlett’s red carpet appearances while promoting her latest dramatic effort.  Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: A Black & White Brad Pitt For Chanel No. 5!

Twitter has been a-buzz all week since the eight second audio clip of Brad Pitt for Chanel No. 5 ($120.00) was released.  Now, the moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived with the full video, featuring the four-time Oscar-nominated actor in black & white, reciting an obscure monologue entitled “There You Are.” Directed by the Anna Karenina-helmed visionary, Joe Wright, Brad’s $7 million ad has certainly paid off since this is first time a male spokesmodel has endorsed anything for Chanel.  Brad’s face & voice join the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, & most recently Keira Knightley (see Coco Mademoiselle here) who have all fronted the brand in the past.

What do you think of the ad? Is Brad Pitt a good fit for Chanel? Would you like to have seen something different for such an iconic fragrance? For more ads starring celebrities, be sure to check out posts including Petra Nemcova’s “Walking After Midnight” for Stuart Weitzman, Kirsten Dunst’s Bvlgari Mon Jasmin Noir Film, & Lana Del Rey for H&M! Happy Styling!

Silver Screen Style: 8 New Posters For Anna Karenina Starring Keira Knightley!

Back in July, I posted the trailer for one of the most anticipated movies of the year, Anna Karenina, starring Keira Knightley as the lead, in a decadent reimagining of Leo Tolstoy’s classic novel.  It’s one of my favorite books & I can’t wait to see it on the big screen- not to mention all the circulating buzz behind the fashion in the film.  Banana Republic has created a line inspired by the film’s ornate, luxury costumes & now, we have 8 new posters (see below) which show off director ‘s various ways that love exists in the period piece.

Also, if you happen to be in London at the end of the month, you will be able to get a first-hand look at the gorgeous costumes, designed by Jacqueline Durran, from the film at the Victoria & Albert Museum, as a part of the Hollywood Costume exhibit.

The film, which also stars Jude Law, premieres November 16th, perfect timing for the upcoming awards season.  Are you going to see this movie? Do you have any interest in seeing Keira play another dramatic period role? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Stuart Weitzman’s 2nd Video for “Walking After Midnight,” Directed By James Franco!

Last week, I very promptly shared with readers the debut short film, directed by Oscar-nominated actor James Franco, for shoe designer, Stuart Weitzman, to the tune of Patsy Cline’s “Walking After Midnight.” The first of four episodes in the series was called The Backflip, & now for the encore vignette, which is called Closecall.

I love the slim, super sexy heel on the shoes worn by model Petra Nemcova, which I think would be hard to stay balanced in, but sometimes you just gotta wear amazing shoes, even if you know you’ve got somewhere to go.  Check out the video & wait til Wednesday, October 17th for the 3rd installation of videos! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Kirsten Dunst Returns To Bvlgari For Fragrance Film, Mon Jasmin Noir!

Actress Kirsten Dunst wasn’t scared off during her previous shoot for Bvlgari‘s Mon Jasmin Noir fragrance ad while sauntering around a very un-cowardly lion. She’s returned to the luxury brand for a revamped short film, staring with her sultry blue eyes into the camera & wearing a black lace-accented frock. Also, the bejeweled spokesmodel looks more effortlessly gorgeous than ever, channeling the Old Hollywood starlet Grace Kelly.

The fragrance film trend isn’t going away, as seen with videos featured in Watch This Style, including Natalie Portman for Miss Dior Le ParfumAlexander Skarsgård for Calvin Klein’s Encounter, Julia Roberts for Lancome’s La Vie Est Belle, & Blake Lively for Gucci Premiere! Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: Christina Aguilera’s New Video For “Your Body!”

I’ve come to notice that when I say I’m excited about something, I usually say I’m super excited, but why would I share anything less with my readers? For those of you who haven’t caught Christina Aguilera‘s newest music video for “Your Body,” off her upcoming album Lotus, due out November 13th, I’m sharing the fun dance-heavy track in all of its Stripped & 80s-inspired flavor! Of course the Grammy winner has been making headline lately for her weight gain, but she’s embracing her curves & in my opinion, she looks damn good in this video!

The Voice coach dons leopard leggings, a mini black dress, denim & tie-dye, a “Rich Bitch” collar necklace, & layers of lingerie. Also, her hair pays tribute to those Stripped days with braids, funky & fun bursts of color á la Nicki Minaj & Katy Perry, but Christina’s also got some feminine curls, nodding to the Lucille Ball reference at the end of the video.  Take a look & share with your Xtina fan friends! What do you think of Christina’s fuller figure? Are you pre-ordering her latest album? Happy Styling!

Watch This Style: James Franco Directs Petra Nemcova For Stuart Weitzman (Episode 1: The Backflip)!

Like all fashionable Style Darlings, more often than not, a pair of shoes will do the trick.  I don’t care how shallow that sounds, if you’re nodding or grinning, then you know what I mean & I don’t need to expand on that any further.  Apparently, footwear designer Stuart Weitzman wants to share the shoe love with a series of short films, directed by Oscar-nominated actor James Franco. According to an article on In Style, the brand hopes to spread the message that “no matter how high the heel, Stuart Weitzman stilettos can take you from day to night.”

Model, Dancing with the Stars dancer, & activist Petra Nemcova walks to Patsy Cline’s “Walking After Midnight” in this less-than-a-minute vignette, entitled “The Backflip.”  This is the first of four episodes that have been posted to the Stuart Weitzman Facebook page, which will also premiere the subsequent videos every Wednesday for the rest of October.  What do you think of the multi-talented Franco’s work here? Do you buy & wear Stuart Weitzman shoes? What footwear trends are you following this season?

American designer Tom Ford has been everywhere lately, but his eponymous collections are usually kept hush-hush & shared with an exclusive bunch of his closest pals in the business, as I’ve recently learned from an article on In Style. In a creative new way to show off his latest Spring-Summer 2013 Collection, the A Single Man-director has brought his vision to life with a percussion-infused music video. The collection’s 29 looks are strictly black & white with rare pops of cobalt, peach, & metallics, however hardened with patent, leather, & tailored menswear details.  Take a look at the video below & share this innovative display of what’s to come for next season! Happy Styling!

Solange Knowles has broken away from her big sis Beyonce’s shadow since her last album in 2008, Sol-Angel & the Hadley St. Dreams, but it’s time to take another look at her blend of fashion & music with her latest single “Losing You.” Filmed on the streets of Cape Town, South Africa, the Madewell spokesmodel is stylish while crooning to the dance / pop track with the help of designer duds from Diane von Furstenberg, J.Crew, Kenzo, Suno, & Opening Ceremony.

Style Darling featured the multi-talented celeb back in June with a post in Red Carpet Review, especially after her smash appearance at the Met Costume Institute Gala, wearing a sweet yellow peplum Rachel Roy confection. You’ve probably seen the very gorgeous Natalie Portman sporting a black bow & Parisian couture in the ads for Dior‘s Miss Dior Cherie, however footage from the previous commercial has been revamped for the latest luxury scent, Miss Dior Le Parfum.  Natalie looks ever so romantic, indulging in the sensual scent while frolicking about with a handsome leading man.  Take a look below at the latest commercial, along with a video from last year, showing a behind-the-scenes look during the shoot.  For more posts from Watch This Style, check out Alexander Skarsgård in Calvin Klein’s latest short for Encounter, Sarah Jessica Parker making her stylish mark on Glee, & Lindsay Lohan in the trailer for Lifetime’s Liz & Dick.
