It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of Project Runway& was very happy with last season’s win for Dmitry Sholokhov, so when I found out that his debut collection hit the New York flagship store of Lord & Taylor, I was super excited to see the final product of all of his hard work. The line is full of the designer’s signature lines of structure, as well as feminine details like an above-the-knee hemline, waist-cinching silhouettes, delicate bows, modern cut-outs, & flirty lace.
Sholokhov recently shared with InStyle, “I received such an amazing response from my fans while on ‘Project Runway,’ and a million questions from different people about when and where they would be able to buy one of my designs… I tried to focus on every woman & every type of style… It’s my belief that each of my dresses offers something for everyone. My woman can be so different—she can be classy & chic, frivolous & young, sophisticated & elegant. She is happy with herself, ageless, always busy & full of energy.“
While the collection ranges in price from $259.00 – $329.00, we can hope that the expected success of such a well-received Project Runway winner can translate into a future collection for mainstream shoppers at Target or Kohl’s. Do you like the collection? Do you like Sholokhov deserved to win? Which is your favorite Project Runway season? Happy Styling!
I’m a big SUPER big fan of Project Runway & season 10 has been an exciting run for the designers. I was rooting for Christopher Palu (a Long Island native, like myself) the whole time, but alas, his collection was not as victorious as Dmitry Sholokhov‘s, who was crowned the winner. His strong collection was the clear winner, impressing judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, & guest judge Jennifer Hudson.
During New York Fashion Week, I featured the entire season 10 finale runway gallery in a previous Runway Rundown post, which is where you can see Dmitry’s polished presentation. However, in celebration of his win, I’ve found a video of his original casting session with previous Project Runway victors, Seth Aaron Henderson & Mondo Guerra.
Stay tuned next week on Lifetime for more from Project Runway since the exciting second season of All-Stars in starting! Did your favorite designer win last night? Which collection were you most impressed by? Do you think the judges got it right? Happy Styling!
I only got around to watching last Thursday’s episode of ProjectRunwaylast night & also just happened to come across a the All Project Runway blog on Blogspot, which shared the collections from the remaining 8 designers of the show who were still in the aired episodes, so as not to give anything away about who would be the final designers really showing at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. We saw Gunnar go home on Thursday after an unfortunate construction of his hands & bird print for the HP Challenge, but luckily, we’re able to see his designs one more time hitting the runway.
