I took a recent trip to Target, just to return something & pick up some tortilla wraps, but of course I was swayed to check out the clearance section in the women’s clothing department. Despite my protest against buying yet another dress since I clearly have no closet space for it, the $8.74 price tag made all the difference when I saw the Converse One ‘Adna’ Dress ($34.99 online). Not to mention, that the only two dresses on the rack were in a Medium, so I didn’t think it would fit. But then again, I did recently lose some weight, so I ducked into the fitting room to try it on. Now, this is me, at home with my new dress friend, smiling like it’s Christmas day!
I bought the wide stretch belt by Minicci ($12.99) a while back from Payless, of course with a coupon when it was on sale for $7.99. Also, the crocodile tights ($9.80) were another recent coupon purchase from Kohl’s by Simply Vera Vera Wang. I got 20% off just for being a cardholder!
The cardigan is a last season clearance purchase from Old Navy (I’m sure it was under $12). Since the dress is pretty lightweight, the heaviness of the knit cardigan is a perfect match to add some texture & make it fall-ready! My staple sunburst necklace comes from Park Lane Jewelry, in which I received at a discounted price since I reaped the benefits of hosting a jewelry party two summers ago.
I bet you’re all wondering about the shoes.. They’re from Payless by Lela Rose. I bought them about two winters ago, probably for around $38.00, but I’m sure that there was a BOGO 50% off deal in there somewhere! I’m a big fan of black & cream, so this is a perfect uniform for me this fall.
I’m especially proud of the closeup on the headband since I made it myself, with a basic fabric-wrapped headband from a dollar store, as well as ribbons & lace from stores like Michael’s, Walmart, & Joann’s Fabrics & Craft Stores. I love all the different details in this look, knowing that it’s not too busy or bulky.
What do you think of my first official outfit posting? All together it probably cost just over $100, but all of it can be mixed & matched with different outfits. I can’t wait to see how this dress looks next summer with some wedges & an updo! If you like looks that can be switched up b/w seasons, check out The $100 Challenge! Happy Styling!

For lack of style news to talk about today (it’s been a rough week), I thought I’d post a little something that I found on YouTube. This video isn’t even a minute long, but shows (in black & white) Grace Kelly accepting her Oscar for Best Actress in The Country Girl. The American Princess of Monaco hit it big as an actress in the 1950s, but left her career for royal & family life. Check out the quick view of her pale blue Edith Head gown. Her signature white gloves & classic style are what makes her a timeless icon of style.
Sweaters have been on my mind, if you haven’t noticed! I’ve been searching all over to get my hands on a sweater dress, or at least a tunic sweater to wear with my leggings & new flat boots. During a spur-of-the-moment trip to
Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr has been spied out & about in Paris during Fashion Week wearing cotton t-shirts & leather bottoms. Of course this isn’t a look that just anyone can pull off, but there are affordable options if you’re daring enough to take the plunge!
Gwen Stefani took a stroll around London looking beyond chic! She’s donning a white sleeveless top, skinny pants, movie star sunglasses, & classic peep toe pumps. This look is so easy to recreate b/c it’s made from basic pieces that we all have.

Even though this weekend’s weather had me fooled into thinking that it was August, I’m loving all of the new cold weather accessories in stores. Of course you have your choice of scarves, hats, gloves, & earmuffs, but these are some of my favorites to kick off the season! For $25 & under, take a look at some of the staple pieces that you can enjoy all season long!

I was recently in the market for some leggings, pre-emptively preparing for an upcoming trip to Italy. I’m probably one of the last twenty-somethings on the planet to embrace leggings, but it was a hard battle since I’m an avid skirt/dress kind of Style Darling. I mean, Charlotte York never wore leggings, with possibly the exception of that 80s flashback in the movie’s sequel.
Lea Michele is by far the best dressed Gleek of them all- Dianna Agron is a close second. What I love about Lea’s looks is that they’re unexpected, a little risky, & very natural on the young actress.
Since I’m all about affordable style,

What better way to start off the fall than with a fur vest? AND whenever I talk about fur, it’s always faux fur! As soon as I saw Rosie Huntington – Whiteley‘s look while strolling through Beverly Hills on

I know I haven’t posted any of my own outfits on here yet, but I will & when I do, you’ll be seeing a lot of cardigans! It’s probably my favorite finishing piece to a look. Some may say that cardigans are frompy or for old ladies, but I love that they’re more delicate than bulky jackets & come in so many different forms.

Shame on me for taking a few tiresome days off from blogging! However, I’m back now with some fierce style to talk about! I’ve had this image of Jessica Biel saved in my favorites for a while now & I just love it!
I haven’t been loyal to any daily readers out there b/c I failed to post a blog for the day, but it’s still Wednesday & I’ve got a little time left & a little something to dish on. See these shoes here? I wore them all day today, from 8:30am until 10:00pm. Of course my work day consisted of a lot of sitting time in my cubicle & then I drove back & forth to Southampton (1hr – 45min each way), so I’m cheating a little bit here. You dan’t deny that that’s a long day of the same pair of heels & I can’t complain one bit about how my feet feel!
