10/1/11 Darling of the Day: Jessica Biel’s Day Out in Toronto!

Shame on me for taking a few tiresome days off from blogging! However, I’m back now with some fierce style to talk about!  I’ve had this image of Jessica Biel saved in my favorites for a while now & I just love it!

During a stroll in Toronto, the actress is wearing a feminine bow-front long-sleeved blouse with Paige Denim jeans, peep toe flats, round tortoise sunglasses, & a studded tote bag.  Any Style Darling can pull off this look b/c it’s just so classic & effortless.  Everyone should have a go-to blouse to begin with & it’s always polished & day-ready when paired with dark denim jeans!

Staying true to my promise of featuring both women’s & plus-size style, I’ve first selected these skinny mini-flare jeans from Old Navy ($29.00) that are currently marked down from $36.94 & range in sizes 0 – 20.  To go with the jeans, you can find the bow neck blouse in parchmen by a.n.a. from JC Penney ($24.99), which is also currently on sale, originally marked $38.00.  For my fuller-figured Darlings, the tie ruffle blouse ($38.00) is available in sizes 14 – 32 @Avenue.  If you think the white looks too matronly, there is also a black option of the blouse available too!

As for the three most important finishing touches, I’m so happy to have found these classic round tortoise sunglasses ($5.80) from Forever 21.  They’ll never go out of style & can protect your eyes in wearing a maxi dress with a crochet vest, or even in a cocktail ready sheath dress.  At the same retailer, you can find the strappy leatherette handbag in dark brown ($29.80), which can be adjusted multiple ways to serve whatever function you need it to! Lastly, the ‘Coreil’ flower embellished peep toe flats ($39.98) are from ALDO, marked down from $50.00.  There, you can also find cute fall-ready flats on clearance for as low as $11.98!

Check out my previous Darling of the Day posts featuring Lea Michele, Miranda Kerr, & Kerry Washington! Would you wear a bow-bedecked blouse like this?  Where do you shop for jeans?  Are you dying over the return of mega-flared jeans?  Happy Styling!

Quickie Darling Deal & Steal: The Most Comfortable Flats Ever!

Along with all of my manic dress shopping, I couldn’t neglect my passion for shoes.  Even when I wasn’t even looking for anything specific at Payless, especially since I jokingly told the saleswoman that I was simply looking for a pair of shoes from the store that I didn’t already own.  I came across these adorable scrunched peep toe flats in black (also available in blue denim), which I didn’t even think I would like.  I think that every shoe deserves a chance, so I tried it on & was soooo surprised to feel how comfortable they were.

In addition, there was just the right amount of toe cleavage & it was perfect for the office (even though it has a denim look), as well as night out in the city with girl friends, or out on a date with the beau.  I couldn’t resist the BOGO 50% off sale, so I searched high & low for something inexpensive to make my purchase a real steal & then discovered a darling pair of flip-flops for under $10.  While they were rung up for 50% less, I added a very helpful 15% off coupon (code 44892 expiring 6/30/11) & the total for my purchase came to $23 + change.  So basically, my flip-flops were free & the tax was hardly anything worth noticing.  I’m also super excited that my receipt provided me with a coupon code for $3 off any regular-priced item purchase for $14.99 or more.  This code was 492347, expiring on 7/30/11.  I wouldn’t invest my hard-earned money in a pair of shoes if it wasn’t worth it & if there wasn’t a great deal to be found.

I’m happy to report that in the week that has passed since I took home the black pair of peep toe flats, I’ve worn them a bunch of times without any discomfort.  Even when I should’ve known better, I wore a really rough pair of platforms this weekend when my best friend & I were out & about NYC, revealing about 6 nasty blisters on my very sensitive feet.  However, these flats were the perfect remedy to solve the ache that all other shoes enhanced & allowed my feet the time & style to feel better, especially when paired with a lace-trim skirt, cropped capris, or a sundress.

What’s additionally awesome about these shoes is how convenient they are to roll up & stick in your favorite tote bag if you’re out & about for the day & think that you’ll need to change your look around.  What do you think of these flats?  Which are your most comfortable pair?

Be sure to catch the current sale at Payless on sandals for adults & kids up to 50% off, along with another coupon code (49486) for $5 off your purchase of $25 or more, which expires 7/4/11! Don’t forget that any time your order from Payless, if you have your delivery shipped to a store, the cost of shipping is FREE, but you may have to wait a few extra days for it!  Happy Styling!

The Stylish Five: Clearance Flats @ALDO ($25 & Under)!

Right now, ALDO shoes is having a big clearance blowout, not just on flats, but all shoes.  Although right now, I’m mighty smitten with these style of flats that the brand has for under $25!  For a limited time all clearance shoes have an extra 25% off taken from their already marked down price.  Any of these picks are heavenly for the light details for this spring.  Take the metallic snakeskin pair with a white cotton dress & a colored bolero sweater & you’re all set for Easter! Then the vintage floral ballet flats are simply darling with some skinny jeans & a beaded top! I just can’t resist a lace detail, which really pops against something menswear-inspired like a shirt dress & chandelier earrings. Perhaps the heavier texture of the brown bejeweled flats would contrast nicely with a skirtsuit.  Lastly, we have the peep toes which are fun for cropped cargos & rosette top.  Not only are these shoes affordable, but their outfit companions are as well & here we’ve got looks that are most likely all under $100 each!  Can’t beat that!  Happy Styling!
