08/06/2022 Darling of the Day: Selena Gomez’s Glitzy Orange Sequin Set by LaPointe!

Maybe between Only Murders in the Building & Selena + Chef, I have a little girl crush on Selena Gomez, but who doesn’t? Really? The 30-year-old star continues to celebrate her glamorous arrival into the next chapter of her life while in Italy with rumored beau Andrea Iervolino, making a stylish & sparkling statement in a LaPointe orange sequin tank (shop here) & coordinating Bermuda shorts (shop here).

The look is glamorous, unapologetic, mature, & timeless for a young woman living it up in Capri, a celebrity hotspot as of late, & shopping at YSL. Additionally, the actress’s look includes slide heels (shop similar here), drop earrings (shop similar here), & Vintage Frames sunglasses (shop similar here).

However, finding an affordable & comparable look inspired by these LaPointe pieces is somewhat difficult (try Poshmark or Mercari for similar separates too), but if a shoulder-to-knee sequins may be a bit much for you, think about coordinating the sparkle with satin for a luxurious & comfortable outfit. I’ve selected the pieces below for inspiration, even though an orange set is hard to find for a budget. Also, keep scrolling for suggested accessories too!

SHOP: sequin embellished best top in orange @River Island ($56.00, available in sizes 2-14), Liangchenmei sequin sparkle cami in rose gold @Walmart ($17.49, available in sizes S-XXXXL), & Rachel Roy Erica satin tank top in orange @Walmart ($41.36, available in limited sizes).

SHOP: contrast sequin drawstring shorts in rose gold @Shein ($14.00, available in sizes XS-L), A New Day high rise satin pull-on shorts in orange @Target ($20.00, available in sizes XS-XXL), & satin paper bag waist tailored shorts in orange @Boohoo (on sale: $18.00, available in sizes 6-10).

SHOP: Rosemarie Collections double teardrop dangle earrings @Amazon ($22.99), square frame fashion sunglasses in black @Shein ($6.00), & A New Day Basil heels in brown @Target ($ 34.99).

About 15 years ago, I would’ve totally donned a look like this—which is not to say that it’s out of style; it’s just not my personal aesthetic. I can still appreciate it & applaud Selena’s fashion choices when it comes to neon hues & unexpected glam! When on vacation, it’s fun to express a different side of yourself to explore a new city or open yourself up to someone knew, all through style! What do you think of Selena’s outfit? Would you wear all-over sequins in a matching set like this? Is orange a color you gravitate towards for summer? Super Style Wishlist: Italy & Miu Miu & Black & White… Oh My!

During my recent trip to Italy, I passed two different Miu Miu storefronts, one in Florence & another in Venice.  The brand has been on my mind lately, especially after seeing the gorgeous window displays of the luxury designs, as well as seeing an image of Oscar nominee, Rooney Mara, at a recent press event in Berlin, promoting her career-making film, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, wearing a Miu Miu design.

However, I wanted to check out some of the latest styles from the brand & fell in love with these black patent leather t-strap platform pumps ($1981.00) available @Bluefly.  They’ve been reduced in price from their original $2467.00 tag, but are still a little out of reach for me.

Black & white never goes out of the style & even though I don’t own or wear t-strap shoes, I can see these perfectly paired with a number of different looks.  While the weather is a little chilly, the patent leather would pop against an opague tight with an art deco-inspired sheath dress.  Also, these are darling for a cocktail party in a halter dress, or even for a more polished affair with a pencil skirt & cardigan- very sexy librarian!

Do you have your eye on a Miu Miu piece? Do you like t-strap shoes? What would you wear these with? Happy Styling!

Inside A Style Blogger’s Closet: Ciao Style Darlings, From Italia!

Ciao Style Darlings! My time in Italy is coming to an end, but I wanted to share a little something from my trip.

A few days ago the weather was particularly gorgeous, for it being January & all, so I took a stroll along the Arno river, wearing my favorite sweater dress with cable knit panel ($22.50) in green.  Also, I’ve been leaving my footprint all over Florence in my boots from Payless.

Additional favorites include my leggings from Target, as well as flats boots & another sweater tunic.

I should also mention that I’ve made a few trips to the local H&M, finding such affordable fashions, including a green short-sleeved dress. As it turns out the conversion from Euros to U.S. currency wasn’t pro-budget, but there were dozens of other sale items that I’m bringing back with me from the international retailer.

Tomorrow (Saturday) is my travel day, & then I’ll be waking up on Sunday back on Long Island, reacquainting myself with all the shoes in my closet that I’ve been missing.

Hope everyone’s having a stylish 2012 so far! Ciao! Happy Styling!
