Yes, it’s true. Fall is just around the corner, which means that richer, darker colors are on the horizon, along with more 90s throwbacks, like plaid & tiny florals. One such find includes this flutter blouse, which is a must-have for any weekend at a winery or fashionable day in the office.
When clicking on the new offerings by Tim & Tru, I was pleased to discover this blouse, which looks flowy & flattering, perfect to pair with dark denim jeans & a cardigan, a pencil skirt & pumps, or lace shorts & slides. This lightweight top is the perfect transitional piece as we move from summer to fall that’s both stylish & professional.
While everyone in the world is talking about the Barbie movie, it’s not only Margot Robbie & Ryan Gosling‘s performances that are being praised, but America Ferrera‘s empowering role as Gloria as well. During the film’s promotional tour earlier this month, while the cast journeyed from continent to continent, the Golden Globe & Emmy-winning actress took to Instagram in London in a chic & polished striped J.Crew button-down (that was customized with cropping), a leather midi pencil skirt by Matches, white stiletto pumps (shop similar here), & gold hammered earrings (shop similar here). However, for any Style Darling of any size, I was inspired to build this look from affordable, inclusive pieces!
The total ensemble isn’t hard to put together with classic wardrobe staples: a button-down shirt, pencil skirt, gold earrings, & heels; however, the stripe details, a faux leather texture, white contrast, & gold shine elevate the entire look. Try these recommended pieces below to recreate the look:
Last summer, my entire fall & work wardrobe changed with Target’s A New Day tapered pull-on pants that felt like sweatpants, but appeared like perfect work pants! Currently, the pants, which cold out FAST, are back with more color variety & neutral prints.
I’m most excited about the burgundy pair. Also, I love the ankle length since I am 5’3″ & they fit perfectly. These are also versatile for casual & in-office days without feeling too stuffy. I can’t recommend these enough with a ruffled blouse & ballet flats, a button-down shirt & loafers, a pullover sweater & stilettos, & wrap top slides.
This season, there has been a lot of blending of pajamas with everyday loungewear, beachwear, & sportswear for women. And why not? We’re all running around so much & we want to be comfortable. If there’s anything that COVID-19 taught us, it’s to slow down. We can always dress up for extra special occasions, but when it comes to general casual dressing, it can still be both stylish & comfortable! Now that pajamas are being made more & more fashionably, why not get the most out of a garment & wear it during the day? It’s your secret (…kind of!)!
Any of these midi length dresses can be styled with a denim jacket or relaxed blazer, along with sneakers, braided slides, or jeweled flip-flops. Not to mention, they can also be accessorized with raffia earrings, bangles, or layered necklaces. How would you style these effortless dresses? Which color & pattern do you like best? In the summer, a tank top is a versatile must-have. It’s always a good idea to maintain an array of colors to mix & match with bottoms, like shorts in a variety of materials, skirts of all lengths, & pants in any color or pattern, & jeans. This option, under $5, also has a rib texture & snug fit for when you want to show off your curves or contrast flowy bottoms.
I have quite a few of these to wear to bed, but also with wide leg tropical pants, linen shorts, or midi skirts. these have a 5-star rating & the color variety is so fun. How would you style these tanks? Which color is your favorite? Where are you shopping for summer essentials? The summer of sets continues, especially with linen & cotton separates that are light & flowy, along with being interchangeable with other wardrobe staples. Back in April, I posted about Joyspun’s new sets, which have since expanded!
Wear these for a good night’s sleep or style them up with wedges or slides, a crossbody bag, & raffia hoop earrings. The possibilities are endless! How would you style these pieces? Barbie is everywhere these days & why shouldn’t she be? With the new Greta Gerwig-directed film about to hit theaters nationwide, it is a Barbie world! While we can’t all done look-alike dresses from the beloved doll, like Margot Robbie flawlessly does at major red carpet events, we can celebrate the style icon by Mattel with some affordable & inclusive gear that can be dressed up or down for any occasion, including when going to see the highly anticipated film that also stars Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Issa Rae, Kate McKinnon, & more!
During a recent jaunt to Kohl’s (with some Kohl’s cash to burn), I was pleasantly greeted with a smocked tank that can seamlessly be styled from day to night in a variety of ways. I bought the green & have already worn it with linen pants & ankle pants for work & weekend, loving the flowy silhouette.
While I can’t recommend this top enough, it is made from a rather sheer fabric, which is why I stayed away from buying the white. The square neckline is perfect for some shorter layered necklace or a long chain. Not to mention that this would look great tucked into shorts or paired with a mini, midi, or maxi skirt. How would you style this top? Which color do you like best? Where are you shopping for summer staples? The shoe of the season is a slide, which is available in multiple varieties this summer, including flower details, metallic tones, jewels a-plenty, & multiple straps. Additionally, to play up a “hardware” look, enter: the buckle.
‘Tis the season for sundresses! Whether you’re trying to beat the heat or stay stylish, there are so many options right now that can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion. Take a look through these 5 fashionable, affordable, & inclusive dresses to build your next look!
All over social media, I’m seeing sundress after sundress in bright, playful colors in linen, cotton, & other fabric blends, inspiring shoppers to style up looks for baby showers, graduation parties, & daytime weddings. However, this particular dress in selling out fast!
I love the green option—being my favorite color—but also the stripes & florals are definitely popular for a reason. Any of these dresses will look fabulous with colorful beads, raffia earrings, or stacked bangles, as well as with a crochet cardigan & braided slides.
As temperatures rise & summer plans are made, cute & functional swimwear is necessary for a fun time! Aside from a swimsuit that I’m feeling confident in, I love a cover-up that doubles in style & purpose, like a printed dress that can go from poolside to the next destination.
I love the fruity option most, especially with sparkly slides & a chunky bangle. Not to mention that a little chain link belt would easily transform this cover-up into a stylish mini dress.
Just like my penchant for the same clothing items in multiple colors & patterns, jewelry in varying metal tones is a must-have, especially when recently & deeply discounted. This time of year is perfect to gift baubles to a bride-to-be, recent graduate, or bestie for a birthday in chic white gold, classic yellow gold, or (my favorite) rose gold. These 5 picks from Walmart are $24.99 & under—marked down from $69.00 & up, & I can’t decide which are my favorites!
Last summer, my love for linen (& caring for linen) began with these tanks, which are available currently for linen shorts or wide leg pants, denim cut-offs, peasant skirts, or ankle pants.
I love the ease & loose fit of these tops, along with the classic neckline. These are summer staples for me on weekends when my style priority is comfort. How would you style these tops? Which is your favorite? How often do you wear linen? For more stylish posts, check out: smocked tops for under $14, affordable beach totes, & statement jewelry from Macy’s. Happy Styling!
During a recent pursuit of burgundy tops (for school spirit days next semester), I came across an Amazon retailer that offers a stylish top in 27 varieties. As I plan my summer wardrobe, vacation ensembles, & filter out older pieces to donate, I’m always on the hunt for some staple stand-by pieces for upcoming busy weeks & weekends.
I have already ordered the burgundy, black, Kelly green, & cobalt blue, along with 2 of the printed varieties. They run true to size & I love how they can be styled with jeans, a pencil skirt, linen shorts, wide leg palazzo pants, faux leather pants, or ankle pants for any time of the year. Also, I’m excited to style these up with drop earrings or a statement necklace, as well as cluster studs & charm bracelets.
As you may already know, I love a matching set; however, I haven’t ventured much beyond pajamas & loungewear for a set, but I’m very impressed by this classic summer ensemble that also works so nicely when coordinated with other wardrobe staples too!
Deals on seasonal staples aren’t that hard to come by, but one that’s a can’t miss is a quality rib tank top full of styling possibility—with linen shorts & slides, a midi skirt & statement necklace, a button down shirt & cut off jeans, a tailored blazer & pencil skirt, & more!
The time is now to hop aboard the Kohl’s train with their major clearance blowouts, Kohl’s Cash (if you have it), & summer sales, including some must-have accessories to wear all year long. One of my favorite fashion jewelry brands, LC Lauren Conrad, knows a thing or two about chic subtlety when it comes to jewelry for special occasions, a professional look, or for the everyday outfit.
If a dress, top, pants, or jacket has some stretch to it, I’m all about it. In every day life with work & family, I don’t have the patience to feel constricted in my clothing, especially in summer. A smocked bust or detail in a dress makes all the difference, especially for curvier women.
I love the pop of color in the turquoise & the chic simplicity of the leopard print. I’m torn about which one to wear to my daughter’s preschool graduation, but I know I’ll get a lot of stylish use out of both this season. Not to mention, good on Target for not only the style variety, but also the vast size range for a classic summer dress!
As I continue to expand my sleepwear & loungewear wardrobe, I love finding pieces that seamlessly work for both parts of my life. When it comes to linen, I even hope that a piece will coordinate for an office summer look. As much as I do rely on neutrals for this time of year to offset with a pop of color, I’m also very much into pink bottoms!
Recently, I bought the pink pair on a whim without a sale & I’m so glad I did. the only thing to consider with these pants is that the linen is very lightweight & you should wear flesh-tone underwear to avoid any see-through moments. Currently, I have ordered the blue pair as well.
Cute tops are everywhere this summer! The cuts, fabrics, & prints are more interchangeable than ever when it comes to styling & getting the most out of your wardrobe. Specifically, Free Assembly‘s summer line at Walmart is turning up the volume with a flattering top in a can’t-miss variety.
I love the idea of this top with denim cut-off, linen shorts, satin joggers, or ankle pants, topped off with a denim jacket, woven bolero, or athleisure jacket. For summer, I love the mixed floral print, but the blue stripes reminds me of the freshness of seersucker this season.
Prairiecore style continues to dominate the summer with peasant tops & skirts, linen & wide leg separates, & sundresses galore. In some cases, it may be difficult to incorporate these pieces into a work look. However, this newest Time & Tru find is not only the dress of the summer, but full of styling possibilities for any time of year!
As pictured, the dress can be worn with boots of any variety, but can also coordinate with a woven belt & long cardigan, a printed blazer & ballet flats, & more! The washed denim options are especially on trend if you’re loving all the of the chambray looks on social media.
One of my favorite buy-one-in-every-color finds has expanded with another variety. This time, a blouse with so much styling potential, is available in black & ivory to pair seamlessly with so many different bottoms, but also a printed blazer, denim jacket, flyaway cardigan, & embellished bolero.
After this Memorial Day weekend, the summer sales are in full flux, which is perfect timing if you’re planning your next weekend getaway, beach day, or winery trip with girlfriends. An oversized tote to stash all of your necessities is just the thing!
