There’s nothing that Monique Lhullier can’t do right, especially in her latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which is chock full of femininity, glamour, & the modern classic style of today’s woman. Naturally, this line is already being celebrated by celebrities, including the always lovely Julianne Hough, who donned the golden glittery confection on the red carpet at this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards. I was able to pick out the dress right away since I’d been scoping out the runway looks for a week now.
This collection features everything ladylike that stars of the past like Grace Kelly & Elizabeth Taylor were made famous for. With a mix of graphic prints, ombre details, lace overlays, sequins, & ruching, Monique Lhuillier has delivered perfection. Designer’s Best: AnnaSophia Robb, Kristen Stewart, Hailee Steinfeld, & More In Louis Vuitton’s Checkered Print!
One of the most memorable galleries that I posted from Paris Fashion Week was of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection, which featured a breathtakingly refreshing look at checkered prints. These looks, which have certainly made their mark on fashion, have been seen all of the red carpets since, proving that Louis Vuitton is a brand worth knowing beyond their famous handbags.
Kirsten Dunst chose the rust & white combination to wear while attending The 2013 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, accessorizing the look with pointy matching Jimmy Choo pumps. InStyle cover girl Jessica Alba showed her support for the magazine at their Golden Globes after-party with black patent leather pumps by Casadei. It-girl Kerry Washington showed her flirty & feminine side in a pastel version at a Berlin press event for her latest film, Django Unchained, with a VC Signature clutch & towering white & metallic pointy toe pumps. Actress Hailee Steinfeld made an entrance in a romper at a Vitamin Water / Sally Hansen-sponsored event, while celebrating her 16th birthday!
Last year’s Oscar-nominated French import Berenice Bejo walked the red carpet at the premiere of Populaire with red suede pumps, stacked bangles, & a sparkling clutch. Kristen Stewart showed some leg at a Tokyo press conference for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two in a shorts romper with strappy Brian Atwood heels. Most recently, The Carrie Diaries up-and-comer & cover girl AnnaSophia Robb posed for Teen Vogue in a midriff-baring top & mini skirt from the collection.

Runway Rundown: The Entire Prabal Gurung For Target Collection Lookbook!
Back in November, I featured a video of designer Prabal Gurung talking about his inspiration behind his highly anticipated collaboration with Target, which has now been revealed on the web with a stunning 41-image lookbook. Prices for the clothing & accessories line range from $13 to $200, including amazing jewelry, neon shoes, timeless handbags, plenty of dresses, & flirty separates.
In an interview with InStyle, Gurung revealed, “It’s about this girl falling in love from the time she first sees the guy right until the time they get married… I had this idea of a girl who finds her journal in her attic and she starts to go through it and remembers…” He adds, “I hope the woman who buys my designs feels a bit of happiness and romance when wearing them.“

Badgley Mischka is one of my favorite evening-wear designers, & I’ve been keeping an eye out on the latest red carpets to spot their designs. I was pleasantly surprised to see the always impeccable Helen Mirren at this weekend’s Golden Globes in one of the dresses from Badgley Mischka’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which I’m happy to feature in my latest Runway Rundown gallery post. The collection includes lots of black & gold with embellishments, plenty of red carpet options for celebs during the upcoming SAG Awards & Oscars, as well as luxe & graphic prints with figure-flattering waist-cinching accents.

Runway Rundown: Zac Posen’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!
After the amazing red carpet from this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards, I surfed the web like a madwoman trying to find the latest from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collections & was so won over by Naomi Watts‘ regal & elegant appearance at the awards show, I knew Zac Posen, the newest judge for the upcoming season of Project Runway, was going to be featured in my next Runway Rundown post. The line pays homage to a retro 1940s style, with satin, leather, tweed, & lace overlay details in rich colors like eggplant, scarlett, oxblood, & some of the most luxe black that I’ve ever seen. The label’s effortlessly classic silhouettes & timeless structures are modeled by the always stunning Crystal Renn. I couldn’t resist the regal duds behind Burberry Prorsum‘s latest line, featuring neutral wool separates, colorblocking, animal inspiration, chic black & whites, edgy red & black combinations, & plenty of outerwear for a dazzling season. Part of what I love about this collection is the compatibility between the menswear & womenswear, especially with the leather jackets, pencil skirts, & pullover knits.

I’ve been noticing the monochromatic trend in fashion these days & I’ve even been daring enough to don the look myself, in head-to-toe black, grey, or green. In Bottega Veneta‘s latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, the line is dominantly black, but there are also luxe options in mauve, oxblood, & charcoal with some geisha-influence in the outerwear. Runway Rundown: Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!
I’ve been spending my day, sorting through all the latest fashion news & following up with my favorite fashion bloggers & nearly forgot about the beyond-amazing Pre-Fall 2013 Collections, which I knew I wanted to feature in Runway Rundown. Of all the galleries that I’ve been scouring, I have to say that Gucci has presented my favorite so far! The luxe & polished mix of heavy fabrics for evening gowns, or sheer plaid overlays is genius! Not to mention the color combinations of leopard print with teal, olive & black leather, as well as classic black & oxblood.
I can’t wait to see these designs hitting magazine editorials, the red carpets during this year’s awards season, as well as the various press events our favorite celebrities will be attending. This collection is making me swoon & if I was a stylist, I’d be calling on Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Chastain, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, & Ginnifer Goodwin to don these duds, pronto! Happy Styling!
Ad Madness: Raf Simons’ Debut Spring Campaign For Dior!
So I thought I’d share a little bit of high fashion with my readers. I’m all geared up for the upcoming red carpets for this year’s awards season, not to mention I’ve been scouring the web for the best deals on end-of-the-year markdowns to make this season a chic & affordable one for our wardrobes. However, let’s talk fashion & that means Dior. Raf Simons, the current creative director for the French brand, has debuted his first ad campaign for the fashion house, featuring chiffon floral, light layers, & everything elegance. Thanks to an article found on Styleite, I’m able to share these images for the line, which seems every bit feminine & minimalist as we could expect for a carefree spring. Also, there’s plenty of menswear inspiration in the sleek black separates, like what we’ve seen on Jennifer Lawrence recently. Next year, Target is getting a whole lot better with the debut collaboration from famed designer, Prabal Gurung. On February 10th, you’ll be able to feel the love of fashion in this love-inspired collection, which will include bright blue pumps, neon florals, splashes of metallics, ravishing reds, & much more! There have been so many waves of high fashion hitting the mass market, especially @Target, which have all sold out in what could only be described as practically instantaneously.

Watch This Style: Project Runway All Stars Season 2: Graffiti Chic Runway Looks!
After season 10 of Project Runway ended, it only took a week to quell my creative competition show juices for when the second season of Project Runway All Stars returned & I’ve been happy to see some old favorites (Uli Herzner & Anthony Ryan Auld) return to the workroom to reclaim victory. Last week’s episode 3, “Up Your Aerosol” aired & I found myself excited to see the designers working with graffiti artists to create their own prints & designs looks accordingly. Having worked in the boroughs of New York & seen the graffiti-ridden streets of Italy, I was interested in seeing the two art forms collide on te runway.
The winning look belonged to Emilio Sosa, & unfortunately, Suede‘s dotted disaster sent him home. For more angles & closeup details on these looks, head over to My Lifetime. Runway Rundown: Banana Republic’s Anna Karenina-Inspired Collection Arrives October 30th!
My anticipation for Anna Karenina has extended beyond Style Darling in that I’ve been writing about it for Movie Buzzers, tweeting (@MissAlissaL) as many spoilers as possible, & even sharing images from magazines on Instagram. We’re one step closer to the film, which premieres on November 16th, with the inspired collection for Banana Republic. I started talking about this back in July, which is when the trailer first hit the internet & earlier this month, I featured 8 new movie posters for the romantic drama. Stars Keira Knightley, Jude Law, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Alicia Vikander, & Kelly Macdonald were lucky enough to be dripping in luxury with the film’s costumes, but now, Banana Republic’s upcoming collection offers a modern take on the Russian decadence. I’m a big SUPER big fan of Project Runway & season 10 has been an exciting run for the designers. I was rooting for Christopher Palu (a Long Island native, like myself) the whole time, but alas, his collection was not as victorious as Dmitry Sholokhov‘s, who was crowned the winner. His strong collection was the clear winner, impressing judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, Nina Garcia, & guest judge Jennifer Hudson.
During New York Fashion Week, I featured the entire season 10 finale runway gallery in a previous Runway Rundown post, which is where you can see Dmitry’s polished presentation. However, in celebration of his win, I’ve found a video of his original casting session with previous Project Runway victors, Seth Aaron Henderson & Mondo Guerra.

I’m all about style on a budget, but I think it’s very important to stay informed about what’s going on right now in fashion & which trends are worth following, straight from the runways at Paris Fashion Week. The name Louis Vuitton is synonymous with the LV logo on bags, wallets, & luggage; however, the latest Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection shows a new side of the label with extra bold colors, rich sparkles, nautical-inspired stripes, & an ode to British mod style.
