Runway Rundown: Diane von Furstenberg’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

One of the most famous & well-known designers is Diane von Furstenberg. Everytime I hear about her, or see her on TV, I’m more & more interested in her designs, especially since her timeless love of prints keeps getting better. Her designs speak to women of every age & even after her recent appearance as a guest judge on the recently ended season 2 of Project Runway All Stars, I think she’s one of the most intelligent & diplomatic voices in fashion. With her latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, there’s plenty of color, print, femininity, & sophistication in the dresses, separates, outerwear, & accessories.

Which looks are your favorites? Would you wear any of these? Have you been following the Pre-Fall 2013 collections? For more from Runway Rundown, check out galleries including J. MendelNarciso Rodriguez, Lanvin, Gucci, Rachel Zoe Collection, Nanette Lepore, & Bottega Veneta. Happy Styling!

Red Carpet Review / Runway Rundown: Style Darling’s Top 20 Best Oscar-Worthy Gown Predictions!

We’re less than a month away from the 2013 Academy Awards & the SAG Awards are this weekend! The speculation behind the results inside those envelopes & what the nominees are going to wear have been bouncing around all over the web & for the first time, I’m going to share my fashion predictions, based off the Pre-Fall 2013, Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, Spring 2013 Haute Couture, & Resort 2013 collection runways. Of course, Oscar-nominated celebrities like Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, Anne Hathaway, Amy Adams & Naomi Watts are subject to one-of-a-kind custom-made haute couture gowns, but it’s been a lot of fun to click around & find the most gorgeous gowns that wowed on the runway. In addition to the nominees who are celebrating their achievements in film, possible presenters like Rachel Weisz, Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lopez, Emily Blunt, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Garner & more will be turning heads on the red carpet.

Surely there will be lots of glitz & glamour, but predictions of trends are hard to tell. There was so much going on at this year’s Golden Globes, including black, black & gold, white, pink, long sleeves, cut-outs, high slits, & nude illusions. Starting off is a gold lamé & embellished gown from Michael Kors Resort 2013 Collection, which was recently featured in a Runway Rundown post. From Carlos Miele‘s Resort 2013 Collection comes this beautiful embellished sweetheart gown with an animal print under-lining. Some might call the white & black-leather accented Emilio Pucci dress from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection is too safe for the Oscars, but I think it’s a modern & refreshing take on a white gown.

Michael Kors, Carlos Miele, Emilio Pucci, Monique Lhuillier, & Jenny Packham.

For the risk-taking Style Darling, I can see the metallic long-sleeved gown from Monique Lhuillier‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection making an entrance on the red carpet. I picked this tangerine Jenny Packham Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection gown b/c of its unexpected color, but on the right skin-tone, it will certainly set some trends on the red carpet for the rest of the year.

Next, we have a floral-embroidered belted gown by Temperley London, which was featured in the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection. This has a very classic, Zooey Deschanel look to it, which is why I loved including it! Badgley Mischka is a name synonymous with red carpets & perhaps we’ll see this all-over embellished metallic gown from their Pre-Fall 2013 Collection on one of the front-running Oscar nominees. One of my favorite designers forever & always is Marchesa & I wasn’t surprised to see so many red carpet candidates in their Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection, including this sari-inspired sheer-overlay blue & gold confection.

Temperley London, Badgley Mischka, Marchesa, Collette Dinnigan, & Roberto Cavalli.

I love the feminine softness from the short-sleeved Collette Dinnigan gown from the Resort 2013 Collection. The coral / fuchsia hue is perfect for an ingénue like the ever-changing Dakota Fanning or the retro Krysten Ritter. Roberto Cavalli‘s black sequined & lace overlay corset-structured gown is a stunning choice for a more dramatic look on the red carpet & it’s from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collection.

Designs by Alexandre Vauthier made a style statement at the Golden Globes since both supermodel Heidi Klum & Downton Abbey actress Michelle Dockery both donned looks, but I picked this leg-baring halter gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. J. Mendel‘s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection was a dreamy mixture of texture, detail, flowy fabrics, & strong silhouettes, including this lace-accented spaghetti strap gown with off-the-shoulder tiers. Also, Giambattista Valli‘s white & gold ball gown took my breath away from its Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection & would certainly wow fashion critics if worn on Isla Fisher, Julianne Hough, or Kerry Washington.

Alexandre Vauthier, J. Mendel, & Giambattista Valli.

Valentino, Christian Dior, & Elie Saab.

There ought to be room on any red carpet for a Valentino red gown, like this strapless & effortless gown from the Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection. Also, Christian Dior‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection featured the pink puffy mermaid ball gown. In addition, someone like Diane Kruger or Zoe Saldana can wear an floral-embellished, dramatic gown like this from Elie Saab‘s Spring 2013 Haute Couture Collection.

After Lucy Liu‘s splash at the Globes in Carolina Herrera, I knew I had to look further into her Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which included this gorgeous black & white graphic print gown, perfect for fans of the label including Renee Zellweger, Emmy Rossum, or Olivia Wilde.  Next, from Oscar de la Renta‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear, this aqua tiered dream of a gown is borderline bridesmaid, but the color is just so pretty & it reminds me of the Romona Keveza ball gown that Kaley Cuoco wore at last year’s SAG Awards.

Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, & Jason Wu.

You can’t have a look at the best from the runway without talking about American designer, Zac Posen, & his Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which is a dramatic statement that will change the way black gowns appear on the red carpet. Lastly, a daring look for the Oscars comes from Jason Wu‘s Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection & perhaps a young starlet like Emma Watson would wear this will some extra lining to fill the skirt since the ceremony is so formal.

Which designers are you hoping to see on the red carpet? Which gown is your favorite? Which nominees are you rooting for during this year’s Oscars? For more runway goodness, check out galleries including Rachel Roy, Calvin Klein Collection, Diane von Furstenberg, & Narciso Rodriguez! Also, to read more from Red Carpet Review, check out looks from the 2013 Presidential Inauguration, leather & black oufits featuring Elisabeth Moss & Scarlett Johansson, the 2013 Critics’ Choice Awards with looks from Eva Longoria & Jaime King, & this year’s red carpet from the People’s Choice Awards with Jennifer Aniston & Chloe Grace Moretz! Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: Narciso Rodriguez’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

For a number of years, as I’ve been studying fashion, trying to become fluent in designers’ signatures, I was always able to recognize the structure behind a Narciso Rodriguez design. After a successful capsule collection for Kohl’s, the designer has revealed his Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, featuring a modern mix of minimalist structure, luxe leather, contemporary colorblocking, & plenty of menswear-inspiration. Fans of the brand include Jessica Alba, Claire Danes, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Emma Roberts, & Reese Witherspoon.

Runway Rundown: Lanvin’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

When a celebrity says that they’re wearing a design by Lanvin, then you automatically known that it’s going to be glamorous. We’ve already seen some of the latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection pieces at work on the red carpet, including Emma Stone‘s ravishing sweetheart look from the Gangster Squad premiere in Los Angeles, a featured in a Top 10 Celeb Sightings post! However, this collection includes stunning separates, ranging in a variety of styles- if you’re into that Katharine Hepburn menswear look, or love what Rooney Mara’s character, Lisbeth Salander, rocked in Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Not to mention there’s so much luxe style here with animal prints, fur trims, leather accents, belts, & edgy boots. The collection marks a progression since its Spring-Summer 2013 Collection, which featured a mix of light & dark tones, along with mod silhouettes. Other stars who love Lanvin include Claire Danes, Jennifer Garner, Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Zoe Saldana, & more!

Which looks are your favorites? Would you wear any of these pieces? Which Pre-Fall 2013 runways have you been following? For more galleries featured in Runway Rundown, check out Donna Karan, Alice + Olivia, J. Mendel, & Rachel Zoe Collection! Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: Donna Karan’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

Donna Karan is certainly one of the great American designers, & the latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection proves just that! The line includes plenty of classic black & white combinations, mixed with jackets, tops, trousers, & skirts, with oxblood, navy, & charcoal accents. What’s so refreshing about this collection are the modern shapes for the pieces, including the dresses, which are sure to impress on the red carpet if worn by celebrity fans like Ashley Greene, Katharine McPhee, Lucy Lui, Demi Moore, & Taylor Swift. I’m hoping to see some of the more formal gowns show up during the awards season since we still have a few more ceremonies to see!

Which looks are your favorites? Do you like the basic color palette? Would you wear any of these pieces? For more from Runway Rundown, check out galleries including Alice + Olivia, J. Mendel, Rachel Zoe Collection, & Hervé Léger by Max Azria! Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: Alice + Olivia’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

As a budget shopper, I know I can’t have a closet full of designers like Zac Posen, Michael Kors, Erin Fetherston, & Bottega Veneta… but a Style Darling can dream, right? Adding to my galleries in Runway Rundown is the latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection from Alice + Olivia. The line features a mix of city-smart separates with lots of street style appeal- perfect for coordinating with current wardrobe essentials, as well as feminine dresses that range in details with lace, abstract prints, & chiffon. I love the youthful feel of this collection & how the leather, striped, & textured pieces add to a rich & exciting upcoming season. Celebrity fans of Alice + Olivia include Emmy Rossum, Lauren Conrad, Emily Blunt, & Jessica Alba, who are all sure to make appearances in these duds.

Which looks are your favorite? Do you appreciate the subway-themed background? Where would you wear some of these pieces? Which designers have you been following? Happy Styling!

Show Me The Shoes: Christian Siriano’s Latest Arrivals For Payless!

Christian SirianoShoe-gasm alert! Yes, I said it! When I saw the latest arrivals from Christian Siriano for Payless, I nearly died from joy… shoe-joy to be specific & I knew, without a doubt, that these just had to be included in my next Show Me The Shoes post! The Project Runway winner continues to share his talents & stylish shoe designs with the mainstream public after a number of successful collections for Payless- my favorite spot to find affordable & comfortable shoes that will only out a smile on my face!

Even though we’re still in the thick of winter, clad with textured boots & leather footwear, getting to see what’s coming for spring is refreshing & exciting, especially since Siriano has selected a soft & feminine color palette, recreating the way we consider neutral shoes. The classic nude patent texture is replaced with a pearlescent shine & a light polka dot pattern can certainly work with stripes, florals, & anything else you can think of. Also, I’m crazy for mint, especially when paired with metallic accents, sure to work with any wrap dress, cotton frock, or mini skirt look as we patiently wait for spring to begin.

The Polina bow flat ($42.99) in champagne or taupe are a playful nod to the New York ballet scene, perfect for pairing with a sheath dress & cardigan for the office, boyfriend jeans & a white blazer for a day out & about, or your favorite colored jeans & a blouse when grabbing a bite to eat with the girls.  The Cynthia sling ($54.99) in taupe or champagne are a sexy way to play up any bombshell look, especially if wearing something with lace details, structure with a belt, or to elongate the legline in skinny pants.

The Julie Mary Jane heel ($54.99) in champagne & mint are by far my favorite, especially the mint pair, which pay homage to old Hollywood screen sirens like Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, or Elizabeth Taylor.  The vintage-inspired shape also bares resemblance to dancing shoes, so you can get the party started in these while wearing your favorite LBD, a-line dress, or sequined top & feathered mini skirt.

Christian Siriano for Payless

Perhaps the most daring of the collection includes the Natalia wedge sandal ($54.99), which is a flirty blend of resort-chic if matched with a maxidress to walk the boardwalk, or to add a mod splash to a printed, sleeveless shift dress.

In addition, this collection is an extension from Siriano’s ballet-themed Spring-Summer 2013 Collection, which I featured in Runway Rundown back in September. Check out the video below to see the collection in motion on the runway, & hear about his inspiration for the light & ethereal colors which are reinventing the way we style with neutral shoes!

What do you think of this collection? Are you a fan of the color palette? Which shoes are your favorite? For more shoe-love, check out posts including Rachel Zoe’s collaboration with ShoeDazzle, Prabal Gurung’s lookbook for Target, affordable pointy toe pumps inspired by Miranda Kerr & Katie Holmes, as well as a look at the designer shoes the stars wore for the Golden Globes after parties! Runway Rundown: J. Mendel’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

Leather, cut-outs, tweed, faux fur, brocade, peplums, & lace just aren’t going away… & why should they? In J. Mendel‘s latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, we see all these luxe details celebrated in dramatic, dark colors with plenty of texture, as well as softer tones with feminine accents. We’ve already seen what the designer can do since Girls actress Allison Williams walked the red carpet of last weekend’s Golden Globes in this stunning plunging black gown. Other celebrity fans of the brand include Taylor Swift, Emma Stone, Brooklyn Decker, & Malin Akerman. This collection is full of visual interest & will definitely help inspire some of my looks for the rest of the winter season & as we look forward to a very stylish 2013.

Mendel, check out Maria Sharapova at the ESPY Awards, Lucy Liu walking the red carpet for her new show Elementary, & Taylor Swift‘s ivory & metallic design at the MTV European Music Awards! I’ve done my best to consistently share with readers some of my favorite designers with all these posts of the Pre-Fall 2013 Collections for Runway Rundown, but I couldn’t forget about Rachel Zoe. Not only is the talented celebrity stylist continuing her reign on the red carpet, pieces from her Rachel Zoe Collection has been spotted on celebrities like Krysten Ritter, Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Mara, & Karolina Kurkova.

With plenty of 1970s inspiration, the collection includes lots of separates, perfect for press events & any Style Darling looking to improve their daytime & work wardrobe. I love the casual feel of this crisp & cool collection, especially the leather-trimmed hats, knee boots, & utilitarian belts. For more collection galleries, check out posts including Michael Kors, Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier, & Zac Posen! Happy Styling!

Runway Rundown: Hervé Léger’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

The latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection from Hervé Léger by Max Azria‘s celebrates the curves & hourglass shape of a woman. They’ve created sexy, figure-flattering dresses with clean lines, as well as stunning patterns & modest cuts. The cocktail-ready dresses are strong, but also offer up opportunity to mix & match with accessories like lace-accented pumps, a beaded collar necklace, or chain-linked bracelets. Celebrities love this label, including Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Hudson, & Kim Kardashian. There’s nothing that Monique Lhullier can’t do right, especially in her latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, which is chock full of femininity, glamour, & the modern classic style of today’s woman. Naturally, this line is already being celebrated by celebrities, including the always lovely Julianne Hough, who donned the golden glittery confection on the red carpet at this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards. I was able to pick out the dress right away since I’d been scoping out the runway looks for a week now.

This collection features everything ladylike that stars of the past like Grace Kelly & Elizabeth Taylor were made famous for. With a mix of graphic prints, ombre details, lace overlays, sequins, & ruching, Monique Lhuillier has delivered perfection.  For more from Runway Rundown, check out galleries including Badgley Mischka, Michael Kors, Zac Posen, & Chanel! Designer’s Best: AnnaSophia Robb, Kristen Stewart, Hailee Steinfeld, & More In Louis Vuitton’s Checkered Print!

One of the most memorable galleries that I posted from Paris Fashion Week was of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection, which featured a breathtakingly refreshing look at checkered prints. These looks, which have certainly made their mark on fashion, have been seen all of the red carpets since, proving that Louis Vuitton is a brand worth knowing beyond their famous handbags.

Kirsten Dunst chose the rust & white combination to wear while attending The 2013 Art of Elysium Heaven Gala, accessorizing the look with pointy matching Jimmy Choo pumps. InStyle cover girl Jessica Alba showed her support for the magazine at their Golden Globes after-party with black patent leather pumps by Casadei. It-girl Kerry Washington showed her flirty & feminine side in a pastel version at a Berlin press event for her latest film, Django Unchained, with a VC Signature clutch & towering white & metallic pointy toe pumps. Actress Hailee Steinfeld made an entrance in a romper at a Vitamin Water / Sally Hansen-sponsored event, while celebrating her 16th birthday!Kirsten Dunst, Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Hailee Steinfeld, Berenice Bejo, Kristen Stewart & AnnaSophia Robb.

Last year’s Oscar-nominated French import Berenice Bejo walked the red carpet at the premiere of Populaire with red suede pumps, stacked bangles, & a sparkling clutch. Kristen Stewart showed some leg at a Tokyo press conference for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two in a shorts romper with strappy Brian Atwood heels. Most recently, The Carrie Diaries up-and-comer & cover girl AnnaSophia Robb posed for Teen Vogue in a midriff-baring top & mini skirt from the collection.

Badgley Mischka is one of my favorite evening-wear designers, & I’ve been keeping an eye out on the latest red carpets to spot their designs. The collection includes lots of black & gold with embellishments, plenty of red carpet options for celebs during the upcoming SAG Awards & Oscars, as well as luxe & graphic prints with figure-flattering waist-cinching accents.

After the amazing red carpet from this weekend’s Golden Globe Awards, I surfed the web like a madwoman trying to find the latest from the Pre-Fall 2013 Collections & was so won over by Naomi Watts‘ regal & elegant appearance at the awards show, I knew Zac Posen, the newest judge for the upcoming season of Project Runway, was going to be featured in my next Runway Rundown post. The line pays homage to a retro 1940s style, with satin, leather, tweed, & lace overlay details in rich colors like eggplant, scarlett, oxblood, & some of the most luxe black that I’ve ever seen. The label’s effortlessly classic silhouettes & timeless structures are modeled by the always stunning Crystal Renn. Not to mention that the entire collection is sure to attract fans of the brand including Claire Danes, Lea Michele, Reese Witherspoon, Coco Rocha, & Kerry Washington!

I’ve been loving everything that’s going on with the latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collections, which is why I’m posting them on a daily basis.  I couldn’t resist the regal duds behind Burberry Prorsum‘s latest line, featuring neutral wool separates, colorblocking, animal inspiration, chic black & whites, edgy red & black combinations, & plenty of outerwear for a dazzling season.  Part of what I love about this collection is the compatibility between the menswear & womenswear, especially with the leather jackets, pencil skirts, & pullover knits.

I’ve been hearing a lot about Erin Fetherston these days & no wonder! Her designs are perfect for the up-and-coming ingenue, like Hailee Steinfeld, Chloe Grace Moretz, Sarah Hyland, or even Oscar-nominated actress Abigail Breslin.  However, that doesn’t mean to discredit the feminine frocks featured in her latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, wrought with a-line skirt, pretty separates, & classic silhouettes.  Check out the gallery of the collection & share what you think! I’ve been noticing the monochromatic trend in fashion these days & I’ve even been daring enough to don the look myself, in head-to-toe black, grey, or green.  In Bottega Veneta‘s latest Pre-Fall 2013 Collection, the line is dominantly black, but there are also luxe options in mauve, oxblood, & charcoal with some geisha-influence in the outerwear.  I’m happy to share the collection, especially since I’ve been seeing so many celebrities supporting the Italian brand, which offers ready-to-wear pieces for day, as well as pretty & vintage-inspired frocks for cocktail hour.  Regular clients include Amanda Seyfried & Rachel Weisz, as well as Megan Fox, Keira Knightley, & Dianna Agron.

Runway Rundown: Gucci’s Pre-Fall 2013 Collection!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

I’ve been spending my day, sorting through all the latest fashion news & following up with my favorite fashion bloggers & nearly forgot about the beyond-amazing Pre-Fall 2013 Collections, which I knew I wanted to feature in Runway Rundown. Of all the galleries that I’ve been scouring, I have to say that Gucci has presented my favorite so far! The luxe & polished mix of heavy fabrics for evening gowns, or sheer plaid overlays is genius! Not to mention the color combinations of leopard print with teal, olive & black leather, as well as classic black & oxblood.

I can’t wait to see these designs hitting magazine editorials, the red carpets during this year’s awards season, as well as the various press events our favorite celebrities will be attending. This collection is making me swoon & if I was a stylist, I’d be calling on Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Chastain, Kate Bosworth, Rachel Bilson, & Ginnifer Goodwin to don these duds, pronto! Happy Styling!

Top 10 Celeb Sightings: Ringing In 2013 With Gorgeous Gowns, Frilly Frocks, & Sleek Silhouettes, Featuring Naomi Watts, Emma Stone, Fergie, & More!

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

The red carpet styles of 2013 are rising by the day & we’re in the thick of awards season, so the best is yet to come.  In my first official Top 10 Celeb Sightings post of the new year, I could just show only Emma Stone, Kerry Washington, & Jessica Chastain since they’ve been doing so much press with their latest films (Gangster Squad, Django Unchained, & Zero Dark Thirty / Mama, respectively).  However, I was so excited to see Emma Stone‘s ravishing red Lanvin dress & the color is just amazing against her alabaster skin & pretty blonde locks.  Not to mention that Kerry Washington is stepping it up for every outing, especially in her checkered Louis Vuitton dress, which I featured in a Runway Rundown post when the Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear collection hit the catwalk.  Also, Jessica Chastain‘s pretty lace frock by Oscar de la Renta is a dream dress for the Golden Globe nominee.

However, those are only three of the ten radiant looks worn by the most photographed celebs of right now, including Amanda Seyfried‘s studded Bottega Veneta dress, Emily Blunt‘s sleek nude Emilio Pucci number, Fergie‘s chartreuse Oliver Tolentino gown on New Year’s Eve, Helen Mirren showing off her shape in a stunning Escada design, Kate Bosworth getting on board the sheer trend in an LBD by Emilio Pucci, Naomi Watts‘ effortless blue Roland Mouret draped gown, & the always gorgeous Rachel Weisz in a sophisticated floral printed dress by Bottega Veneta

I’m all about style on a budget, but I think it’s very important to stay informed about what’s going on right now in fashion & which trends are worth following, straight from the runways at Paris Fashion Week.  The name Louis Vuitton is synonymous with the LV logo on bags, wallets, & luggage; however, the latest Spring 2013 Ready-To-Wear Collection shows a new side of the label with extra bold colors, rich sparkles, nautical-inspired stripes, & an ode to British mod style.  Models hit the catwalk in pairs, wearing coordinated looks & I can’t wait to see some of my favorite celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence, Dakota Fanning, Anne Hathaway, & Bella Heathcote wearing these designs as we get closer to spring, even though fall has just begun.  Happy Styling!
