The staggeringly stylish collection of images goes beyond Vogue or what any music video can do in setting the tone for the 28-time Grammy winner’s seventh studio album that was produced over the course of the last three years, including during the pandemic, featuring a mix of dance, pop, funk, & techno sounds to get listeners moving!
Not only are the album’s images inspired by Beyoncé’s mature & artistic side, but according to Insider, the three-act project “pays homage to queer ball culture” & “is indebted to her late Uncle Johnny, whom she described in 2019 as ‘the most fabulous gay man I’ve ever met,'” adding, “‘He was my godmother and the first person to expose me to a lot of the music and culture that serve as inspiration for this album.'”
